Good hospitality. Naan was soft and fluffy. Paneer Butter Masala was fine. Vegetable Briyani is highly recommended.

We ordered tandoori momos, veg Manchurian, paneer masala, chaamp masala, Amritsari kulcha with roti and rice. In a honest review I did not like the food, it was way away from having authentic taste. Some people might like it but coming from Indian background I find the taste really pale. The good thing was the service was great, the staff are well trained and have a positive approach.

Good ambiance but We personally didn’t like the taste much. For tea I would say anyone can make better at home then what it was served. Would recommend anyone for dining if they are in that area and don’t have any other option for food.

Interiors are so beautiful. Dishes are presented in such a nice way. Loved their chole bhature. Bhature was not oily at all and chole was super delicious. The server who attended us was very sweet, helped us to decide our order. Tea was delicious and loved how they served parle g with it.

Top notch ambience, great service, excellent food. We dropped by here after a movie and were pleasantly surprised by the food and ambience. The "canteen" is set in a very artsy space that gives off very chill vibes. We ordered the tandoori momos, lotpot chaat, and two kadak chais. The chaat was on point, momos were decently cooked, and the chai was just as strong as expected. Would definitely come back for an upscale street food experience!

The worst food I ever had at any Indian restaurant. I will never ever recommend this restaurant to anyone. I would prefer to starve, but will never go to this place. We ordered Manchurian- which was tasting like a sweet and tang like tomato soup. We ordered Tandoori Momos which was sweet like a dessert. Another thing we ordered was Panner Butter masala, which taste like tomato puree and Baingan bharta which doesn’t have any taste. A sweet note for restaurant owner, “please change your chef and also please work on your quantity”.

We ordered samosa, dosa onion rings, vada pao and chai. Chai was not that strong but I loved how they served. Also tried their in house malai kulfi and ras malai - that's super delicious. The ras malai was so soft and fresh and kulfi was the best.

The best chole bature I have ever tested. My son loved their dosa batter onion rings. It's a completely vegetarian place, which also has great vegan options.

I have been here couple of times and it is a delightful culinary gem. The food here is delicious, with flavors that transport you to the streets of India. The standout dishes are the chole bhature and biryani, which are a must-try for any food enthusiast. The chole bhature boasts fluffy bhature and perfectly spiced chickpeas, while the biryani is fragrant, flavorful, and packed with tender meat or vegetables. The attentive service and inviting ambiance further enhance the dining experience, making this restaurant a top choice for Indian cuisine lovers.

One word review: AUTHENTIC It’s amazing how how they can make every single dish so authentic. I wish they had a location in Vancouver coz it would do phenomenally well. Great staff and service and aahhh i miss the Banta🧋

Worst experience ever in Canada. We ordered for Masala tea and paid 8$ for 2 small cups of tea. The tea is too much bitter, don't know what they have added. On Google reviews, people are commenting best tea. I don't know why. Seems kind of paid reviews

I’m only giving 4 Stars because of the service. Would give 2 and half Stars for food and 5 Stars for the ambiance. Heard a lot about this place and wanted to try out their Chola bhatura. We came specially from downtown Toronto to try out the food All Vegetarian restaurant with some vegan options. The Decor is amazing, loved the detailing and authenticity of the interior. The service was awesome and really appreciate the server providing my daughter with a personal hygiene item from her own purse. Good vibes and good chola bhatura. Just wasn’t happy with the quantity. Barely enough for one person. The Manchurian and Hakka noodles were extremely sweet and totally not up to the mark in flavour and texture. The noodles were over cooked as if kept in hot water for too long. The mango lassi and lemon soda was good. The Matari Kulcha was good and bad. The veg was tasty but the kulcha was dry and rubbery. Overall quality was way too little. I wish they concentrate on the taste more and little less on presentation the place would be great. Good place for small portions and good chola bhatura. Little expensive for the portions. Great place to hang out for the ambiance.

Went to this restaurant with friends for Dinner. They have an all vegetarian menu with Indian and Hakka Chinese options. They have beautiful interiors but I wish the food matched their interior standards. We ordered Palak Paneer, Phulka Roti, Chole Bhature, Pani Puri Shots, Tandoori Momos, Pav Bhaji. From the lot, we liked only the Palak Paneer and the Bhature. The Pav Bhaji was too tangy and chole lacked flavor and felt like boiled chickpea. The tandoori momos felt bland. Apart from the food, their service was quick and the servers were courteous and friendly. The prices are reasonable. We hope that the management consider our review. Would love to be back and update our review!!

Magnificent Ambience! Splendid, yummilicious food! Hospitable staff! The channa bhaturas were just awesome, best in the whole GTA. I had paneer butter masala as well, the taste of each and every spice in it was so distinctive.

This was the first visit and came especially from Brampton to try this place and wasn’t disappointed!! We ordered vada pav, pav bhaji (both the items were good but not too authentic), uttapam (the sambar was a bit too thick for our liking). Would highly recommend the jalandhari nutrí naan, masala pasta and chai <3. Absolutely loved these items. The ambience in comparison to other Indian street food restaurants is pretty good and the service provided by Kulvir and Anju was great as well :))

Have been here quite a few times. We have ordered Chole Bhature, Aloo Tikki, Panipuri, Vada Pav, Mumbai Street Dosa, Chai and Grilled Bombay Sandwich in the last few visits. They have one of the BEST chole bhatures I have had in GTA/Toronto. Only issue is that they charge extra for pickle and onion which is weird for a desi place. The dosa, tea, vada pav panipuri and aloo tikki were ok too. Their fried food doesn't feel too oily which is the best part. The worst was their Mumbai Grilled Sandwich. No taste & no spices. It wasn't even remotely close to the popular Mumbai Grilled sandwich. They put some plain aloo stuffing in with some veggies. Was very poorly done and the quantity was too small for the price you pay. Overall - this is the best place for some good Dilli style Chole Bhature. For the rest of the menu, you got better places in GTA you can try.

Have passed by this location for quite a few years, and always wanted to enter (actually did enter a year or so ago after a rain/wind storm ripped your sign off and sent it into the street, went in to advise the staff). On recommendation from my neighbour, I ordered Mumbai Sandwich and Tikki Chat($22.49). It was FANTASTIC. Flavour, appearance (even in take out container), Aroma, it was all there. Only drawback was the portions were a bit small. Would like to see a good size meal for $ 10-$15. I know it is hard to do with costs these days, but it would definately increase volume of customers(especially me). But, man, I really enjoyed the meal. I almost ate the container. Went back to this location and had the Samosa Choley Chat, and the Bhel Puri, next day had the Masala Biryani, the staff can make the dishes extra spicy at not extra cost. All very enjoyable.Thank you for providing this vegetarian Culinary treat.

The food is usually good here. We been to Bhais a few time now, are favourites are the Choley Bhatura, Lotpot Chaat & Crsipy Cauliflower. I would stay away from the Cold coffee & desserts, it definitely not worth it. Food Yummy, drinks & dessert downhill!!!!

Very bad food quality. Crispy cauliflower - tasteless Dosa - coconut chutney and red chutney - no taste at all!!!! Dosa filling - potato sabji too bad to taste!!! Bad tea…. Good service by staff but the food is awful

Visiting from Vancouver and exploring food options around Toronto/Markham/Brampton/Mississauga area. This small restaurant in Markham has us full and filled. The proportions were great and the taste was authentically Indian. Reminded us of Delhi & Chandigarh's cholle bhature. The Bunte wali drink is so nostalgic and similar to the Bunte wali bottle you get on the streets of India. Before we leave, we'll for sure be coming here.

Went there with friends .Ordered Chhole Bhatura and Jalandhar Nutri Kulcha with Mango Lassi ,Chaas and Bunta Lime. The Bhaturas were so fluffy and had the perfect texture .Chhole also tasted good. Nutri was delicious but Kulchas were a bit small but soft and fresh. All the beverages were refreshing. They had a dine in option and the place looked very clean and hygienic. The prices are bit on the higher end which brings me to the one criticism which is Chhole and Nutri tasting less hot. There were spicy but hotness level was zero and there was no zing of green or red chilly as both were super mild . There should be an option to serve them hot or mild for that price. The service was friendly but wait was long. I would surely try other items on the menu.

Edit (1aug21)- ---------------------- I got great feedback of Bhai's Canteen from a few friends, so decided to take a 45km trip from Ajax to Bhai's kitchen with high hopes. I am sorry to say but our experience was not great - 1). We ordered few dishes i.e. Chole Bhature / Hakka Noodles / Chilli paneer / Paneer butter masala / Garlic Naan & Plain naan. 2). As you can see in the food picture, the bhature are not puffy , so most likely they gave us old bhaturas and we should have sent it back as soon as it came but since we were famished so decided to eat it anyways. 3). Chilli paneer was bland & tasteless, so they didn't charge us for it. 4). Paneer butter Masala was also bland / tasteless & sweet. We were told by the hostess that this is how it supposed to be (probably it is more tuned towards the gora taste buds) but definitely not for the "authentic" seeking desi foodie. 5). Hakka noodles were good in taste & quantity was also good. We basically brought all of it back home. That was the only saving grace of this whole trip. 6). They gave us a complimentary mango lassi (for our bad experience), which was a good gesture. 7). I give full marks to the wait staff as there were 3 different people who came to ask for our feedback. This signifies that they strive to improve. 8). I for sure won't be taking another 90km round trip back to Bhai's canteen. I hope the other patrons have different experience. My friends certainly seem to like it. Edit (2aug21)- ---------------------- Not sure if the owner even read my review. It can't get any descriptive than that.

We ordered four cups of tea, but instead of letting us wait inside the restaurant, they made us wait outside for 30 minutes. Moreover, the tea was nauseating. Without a doubt, I won't recommend this restaurant to any of my loved ones or friends. Had such a bad experience.

Decor and ambience feels so authentic and intimate. Loved the food, portion sizes were perfect and presented beautifully. Their cutlery and furniture are so trendy. Only thing I didn't like was the masala chai, it tasted a little pungent, like the milk had gone off. Otherwise, the food was excellent.

Food is amazing but runs on Indian standard time lol. 12:00pm to 3:00pm in the afternoon. Please change your timings to reflect when you actually close or open. If you show up at 11:30 or 3:00 they won’t seat you.

Visited this place after movie at York Cinemas, so close to cinemas and a nice place to hangout as large groups. We tried chole bhature and pav bhaji, both tasted average for their price. Would visit again to try other options in their menu.

Best Chole Bhature in town. The dining atmosphere is very peaceful and food is delicious. Best vegetarian 🥗 food to enjoy with fam n frnds.

I ordered paneer butter masala and rotis. It tasted great. The noodles contained chopped vegetables with barcode stockers... Such careless cooking is UNACCEPTABLE. Taste of food is good but personally, hygiene and careful cooking is important for every restaurant. I hope it is taken care of asap.

Visited Bhai’s Indian canteen today for the very first time . Had really high expectations as the ambience and the name is so appealing. Tried their veg hakka noodles and veg manchurian with gravy. Veg hakka noodles tasted good but not enough veggies would say 7/10 veg manchurian tasted like manchurian balls in tomato sauce super tangy sauce would not recommend that at all .. 4/10 . The staff was also not so friendly. Personally did not like the food.

The taste of food was ok-ok. Bit pricey as compared to the taste. Tandoori momos looked so wilted and tasted stale. The ambience was much Indian, servers were kind and friendly. Overall experience was not bad, but could’ve been better.

Very tasty. Wide variety of vegetarian food including southern and northern Indian dishes. Friendly service. Moderately priced. Decent lunchtime Thali take out specials. Comfortable and homey seating. Not as crazy about the Hakka dishes - but most of the things I have tasted on the menu have been quite good.

  • 4/5 Suren K. 2 years ago on Google
Tried Masala biryani, veg Manchuria, and veg noodles. Veg masala biryani is really great. My wife loved it as well as veg noodles. But Manchurian balls are really worst. please don't ever try it here. You will lose the opinion on the restaurant. Even the Manchuria gravy tasted worst.

Went to Bhai’s canteen for Father’s Day. It was busy but we were accommodated right away. Decor is nice and the place is spacious. They have a good menu to choose from. We got dosas for the kids from the kids menu. Hubby ordered channa bathura and I ordered pav bhaji. Portions are decent. Kids sambhar was watery. Although, have to admit that the food tasted good. The service could have been better. It took a while to get the menus, they didn’t offer us any utensils, nor napkins. Had to keep getting up and asking for these items as they didn’t visit our table to ask at all. I guess perhaps they were short staffed and it was busy for Father’s Day. Would visit again. Hopefully service will be better next time around!
