This is a high end Chinese restaurant that needs a better manager. I came here with my husband and a friend and staff were so uncomfortable with taking our order in English even though we literally pointed to the menu items we wanted. Personally, I get it, they may be shy and I didn't mind. What I did not like was the condescending and disappointing manager (Daiyou?). He was visibly upset that he was called on to take our order in English and made sure he displayed his dissatisfaction to us. He gave me a lot of attitude when I ordered and I didn't appreciate it. It continued when we went to pay the bill . To the management at this dump, we ordered over $300 of food. If you want people like me to keep coming back to this dump, hire a better manager who knows how to treat clients. It's not my fault I had to repeat my order in English four times. I will say that the waitresses were otherwise very kind.

Early Valentine's dinner so we decided to try Yu Seafood for some lobster. We also had shark fin soup which we were a bit disapponted on the portions that we had for the money we spent on each bowl. I would have thought to get bit more soup, not just a rice bowl size portion. We didn't get the set meal for 2 which comes with 2.5lb lobster so we got 4.3lb lobster instead (more yummy lobster meat to eat). Prices for lobster are pretty much the same per lb to other restaurants. Had it prepared steamed which garlic. Also ordered fried snow pea leaves with garlic. Enjoyed the lobster very much, steamed perfectly and very tender. The snow pea leaves could have been better and some of the stems where a bit old so can not be chewed. For dessert we had amond cookie, Chinese style coffee flavored pudding and sweet red bean soup. All the desserts were very good to end our meal. Not too sure I would come again.. We thought this to be a four star dinning experience but didn't really feel it. For the amount of money spent we could have had a better time and more food at our local restaurant that we normally go to...

Want to have a fancy place for dimsum, then this is for you, beautifully decorated, wall displays of Chinese vases and other arts. A far cry from those dimsum places where people are reading the Chinese newspapers with bare feet resting on their chairs, oh the horrors from my previous Hong Kong life. Special dimsum discounts before 1030, be prepared to wait for seating Service staff very efficient with the assistance of those cute robot dimsum servers All dimsum ordered, red scallop rice rolls, abalone congee. Fried almond encrusted shrimp balls, peanut scallion dumplings. truffle shrimp dumplings, Lotus wrapped rice, chicken feet, char siu baos were tasty and cooked perfectly. Alas no more rolling steam carts but dimsum straight from the kitchen. Pricier than other dimsum places but the morning discount alleviates some of the price pain. Well worth it for the food quality and elegant decor. Dimsum lovers amen

I have to give 5 stars on the atmosphere, spacious and beautiful decoration. Their automated booking system was easy to use and efficient. Loved the deep fried shrimp balls, dumplings soup and mochi with cream. Service was excellent.

The dishes were very affordable. Each bite was a burst of flavors that left me craving for more. However I couldn't help but question the noticeable disparity in prices between their Yorkdale location and the others. It seemed rather puzzling why the same menu items were priced so differently. Aside from the food the staff truly made the dining experience memorable. They went above and beyond to ensure that every customer felt welcomed and taken care of. Their attentiveness and genuine friendliness added a special touch to the overall ambiance of the restaurant. All in all the delightful food exceptional staff and beautiful decor made for an unforgettable dining experience. Despite the price discrepancy at the Yorkdale location I would highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking to indulge in a scrumptious meal in a charming setting.

One of the below average dim sum places. Not sure why there’s such a long line up for this place. Half the food came out room temperature and not hot. Some guy said the charcoal lau sa Bao was soggy and indeed ours was soggy. You can tell it’s soggy from the picture and it was not fully melted on the inside. The ginger onion tripe we ordered had no ginger or onion. It was bland and flavourless. The chrysanthemum tea we ordered had a mouldy taste. The spare ribs was filled with baking soda. Their world famous cha siu bao was… just bad. Any Chinese bakery can make a better bao than what they brought out. Food definitely did not taste fresh. Mediocre presentation and below avg dim sum food. There are better places in Markham/Richmond hill, regardless of price. And for the prices this place slap on, it’s 110% not worth it.

My review is based on yum cha (dim sum) experience on a weekday afternoon. Arrived around 1:30 and no need to wait in line. Simply fill out the check in form on a tablet and we were led in quickly. We can choose between outdoor or indoor dining and we opt for indoor. However, there’s more than 1 fly in the restaurant, could be because they kept the front door opened. One star deducted. The food came all at once, making some being cold before we get to taste them. We have 2 complaints about the food, the rice roll skin is super thick (should be paper thin) and the turnip cake was burnt (see photo). They agree to replace the turnip cake for us. This place only take cash or debit, be aware, for those who only have credit card on hand! They have to pack the leftovers home, which is part of good service but overall experience should be improved.

Excellent dim sum restaurant. They use very high quality food and excellent cooking techniques. The results are wonderful taste and texture food. Very classy and comfortable modern decoration and seating. The only downside is that there are potholes everywhere in the parking lot. Make you reservation early because it is hard to get a table on the weekend.

High end design including washroom! The food plates are spectacular and artistic. Private rooms should be booked in advance, especially at weekends. It's very clean including washroom. The beautiful receptionist is friendly, patient and efficient. It's one of highest end Chinese style restaurants in GTA. It's good place for celebration.

The design/architect of this restaurant is very nice. Staff are friendly and try to work efficiently with the traffic flow of the rush - covid friendly. The presentation of the food is spectacular. The flavour is a little more on the sweet side and not as salty/savoury as you’d expect for a Chinese restaurant but overall a great experience.

We have heard so many good comments about this restaurant. We were really excited to try it. Luckily they accept reservations now. We booked a table for our dim sum lunch at their patio on a Saturday afternoon. It was a great experience. The service and food quality was impressive. Although it was on the pricey side, but it was definitely worth it. There were some signature dim sum and dishes that we couldn’t find elsewhere. The presentation was amazing! We enjoyed our lunch very much. Looking forward to go back and try their dinner menu after they reopen for dine in service.

Really high quality seafood restaurant. Couple time experiences here, never disappointed about dish. Lobster, crab, fish, beef, chicken, roast duck(3 cooking way) , the soup , even dessert and dessert soup. You should try all of them. Very suitable for friend and family gathering here. Worthy to go!

Great food but we shouldn't be asked to provide a tip unless service is extraordinary. We still gave them tip at around 10% but they still had the audacity to ask for more tip. They even had management come to ask. Great food otherwise!

Modern and spacious restaurant, the dim sum food quality was good (the Steamed seaweed Roll with Dry Octopus, chicken & Dry Scallops was disappointing, the meat was hard and the seaweed was not crispy). The steamed Angus rice roll, steamed pork dumplings and the steamed shrimp dumplings were all good. Size of the dim sum are quite large as well. Expect a bit of a wait for a table, anywhere between half an hour to an hour wait is quite common, unless you get to the restaurant by 9am when they open. The waiting list system is fair, you have to register your party's information on a tablet by the receptionist, you'll get a call and a text message when your table is ready. The quality of their tea is quite good, and their services are friendly and quick. Their washrooms are worth mentioning, they are high class, with individually lockable rooms. The washrooms are clean, with paper towels to dry your hands as well as mouthwash (I guess for those who can't wait to get home with their oral hygiene) Overall a good experience. If you place your dim sum orders before 11am, all S,M,L dim sum dishes are $5.28 each. Service charge for tea (quite good quality) is $2.5 per person. Please note that the restaurant only accepts cash or debit, credit cards are not accepted.

We ordered one combo plus Okra fried Beef. Roasted Peking Duck is authentically amazing as well as the sweet bean sauce , unfortunately the wraps are sweet, thick and soggy, super unauthentic. What a pity. After slicing the duck, they provide another dish which use the left of the duck flesh, fried with diced guard, celery, onions etc. This dish is an amazing bonus, recommend to wrap with lettuce which is served as well. But the lettuce served were soaking wet, which diminished our happiness. Lobster and Okra beef were with great flavor, the beef dices are crispy outside but juicy tender inside. They both pre-deep-fried, so a bit greasy. The crab shark fin soup has great portion, good to share with. Fish ball fried rice lightly savory, the texture and flavor of fish balls are outstanding, not fishy and greasy at all. It would be perfect If the rice was evenly scattered. I believe the chefs there are professionally good, proficient than most others, but still need some steps to improve to be the top-rank. Atmosphere is warming, bright and neat. A nice place to host guests.

Pretty good dim sum. The design and vibe are very elegant. The service was attentive. Most things we had were tasty: the sautéed lobster is unreal, shrimp dumplings, charcoal salted egg yolk buns, rice noodle rolls, fried dough balls with pork inside, etc… Unfortunately the meat in our sweet and sour pork smelled foul and the clams in our congee were full of sand. However, the restaurant apologized and didn’t charge us for the pork.

You're paying mostly for the nice decor, atmosphere and service. The food is a hit or miss. Looks good in pictures but is average. A good place to take guests from out of town.

This was some of the best dim sum I’ve had. Service was great. The dining room is beautiful. Monday to Friday they run a promo where dimsum is only $5.28 a dish! I’m not sure the details as I was just visiting and got lucky! The portions are big and everything tasted good and fresh. I would definitely come back when I visit. Even their tea is pretty good quality. Highly recommend!

Food: Compare to other dim sum place, I definitely recommend this one, based on the selection and quality. Service: Went there on a long weekend Sunday at 1pm, crowded and need to line up, but good that they have a machine there to key in the info and a big monitor to show how many tables ahead of you, and also categorizing by the size of the tables, like A for table size 1-3, B for table 4-6, C for table 7 and above. With this way, it's so clear and easy for people to see and estimate the waiting time. And not letting people run some errands and return later, instead of all people staying in a small waiting area. Atmosphere: Enough space between tables, can have a good privacy area...And also you won't find the whole place very noisy.

Seafood Yu has a good atmosphere. The restaurant creates a pleasant ambiance, which is an essential factor in enhancing the overall dining experience. Areas for improvement: taste of some dishes is below the expectations. This is a significant concern as the quality and taste of the food are vital aspects of any dining establishment. Consistency in taste and flavors across all dishes is crucial to ensure customer satisfaction.

I am a dim sum lover! I enjoy starting my weekends with a dim sum brunch when possible. Went to Yu seafood for it. Oh my.. everything is so pretty in that place. The food are as delicious as it is good looking. Every item is well done and plated so nicely. They have daily soup available. Ask the server to know what their daily special is. Service was great, and the food came in a timely manner. Covid season: I see them sanitizing the seats around us as customer leave. Changed the sheets to the table. So eat with no worries.! Prices are reasonable too!

We got a private room for my dad's birthday and the food was very good and tasty. Lobster, crab, green bass, oyster, sashimi, soup and rice. It was quite expensive as the 8 person combo was 1100 plus tax plus tip. It was good but I think it's one of those special occasion dinner places. I think there was also dim sum options in the morning but I've yet to try those

They can get busy but they have a system for you to queue and the line moved pretty fast. They had indoor and outdoor dining option as the weather was still good. We went for dim sum and it was top quality and really enjoyable. The staff was attentive and speedy. I would definitely go again!

This place definitely worth checking out, food, service, and atmosphere are great, but with that being said, it's a bit pricey. Totally worth it. Either you go for dim sum or dinner, it is well worth your visit. Remember this place accept CASH/DEBIT only.

Amazing place to have dim sum. The place is pretty popular, where you might have to put your name on a list and wait around 30 mins for them to call you. When you get inside and order, the food comes pretty fast. The choices are excellent. They are known for their fresh seafood. The staff are very friendly and hospitable.

ELEVATED DIMSUM! Came here with some friends today and it was so fire! Amazing service, great atmosphere and most importantly fresh & beautiful Dimsum. Got a little bit bbq flake bun was my personal favourite; sweet, savoury and salty! Going to come back and try more of the chefs dishes with some dimsum of course! GAS ALERT - giverago pal.

Elegant place for Dim Dum! There are so many good dim sum choices and all the ones I tried were delicious! There was a robot with cat face that helped serving the dim sums. The restaurant is nicely decorated and comfortable. Be prepared for long wait. I came around 1:30 on a weekday, but still had to wait at least half hour.

Tried Lobster and Peking duck for 2 set menu. The food was good and portion was big. There were 4 of us and we could not even finish the food (that is supposedly for 2 people).

Good taste of dim sum especially the Steamed Shrimp Dumplings and the Steamed Chicken Feet. No need to wait if you arrive before 9:30am on weekdays. Also the staff are efficient and nice.

Had the lobster and king crab set meal. Both are perfectly cooked 2 ways with tender meat. The king crab fried has a nice spice to it while the steamed is full of garlic flavour that brings out the sweetness of the meat. Lobster stir fried with Maggie sauce is everything you’d expect from this dish. Lots of savoury umami goodness. The steam preparation goes well with the fried rice to soak up the sauce. The fried rice has a great balance to it, not overly fishy from the tomalley. Pea pod leaves are executed well, cooked to tenderness without and chewy parts. The dessert courses are fairly standard but good. Price wise, keep in mind they will up sell you to a larger lobster and crab.

Har Gow • Siu Mai • Deep Fried Shrimp Ball with Almond • Baked Bbq Pork Bun Pastry • Scallop Red Rice Roll with XO Sauce • Katsuobushi & Peanut Congee • Steamed Chicken with Mushroom & Chestnuts • Pan Fried Glutinous Rice Dumpling With Oats 蝦餃 • 燒賣 • 金甲龍珠球 • 天下第一包 • XO帶子紅米腸 • 柴魚花生粥 • 香菇栗子棉花雞 • 紫薯燕麥糯米糍 Love the interior design! 😍 The food was great. My favourite food item in this meal is the deep fried shrimp ball with almond. Crunchy nutty on the outside and shrimpy juicy on the inside. 😋 Also the Har Gow was so good with thin chewy skin and juicy shimp filling. Overall the food was flavourful, however, some of them (Har Gow, Siu Mai, Shrimp Ball) were on the salty side. The service was good as the staffs were nice and attentive. It’s a great dine-in experience after the lockdowns.

We hosted a baby shower in the VIP room and it was amazing. It had a minimum spending requirement but comes with a dedicated waiter as well as a private washroom. Their dim sum was full of surprises and extremely delicious. Overall very happy with the experience.

This place’s food is the elevated version of your typical dim sum spot. Every table is very spacious and leaves a good distance between tables. Everything we ordered was very good, but the prices are slightly on the higher side. They use real salted egg yolk in their charcoal buns unlike other places which use the powdered kind. The fresh panna cotta is also very good and has a creamy texture. The only thing that would improve this place is if the hostesses were more professional, less rude and had more patience with customers.

We came here at 9:30pm and the door sign shows they closed at 11:30pm. We went in there and there was only three parties eating. We tried to order food quickly and the food came out quickly. Food was fine but a bit pricey comparing to the same cusine in this area. At 10:15pm we got all the food and waitress came to me and said they are closing. I was like what..? You still have at least 1 hour to leave and you are trying to kick me out? That's fine I am okay to pay the bill first and enjoy the rest of my food. I left 18% tip which is almost $100 and I am so regret. After 2 mins I signed my check and I heard a woman spoke mandarin to her co-worker to ask us when do we finish our meal. The waitresses came to our table and tried to take our plate and utensil out. Later on a women came to our table and spoke to us: How can you sleep when you eat so late? Once I heard that stupid question from the restaurant manager I have no interested to eat anymore. To be honest food is okay but the attitude of the workers was reallllllly bad. We left at 10:45pm with a bad mood. I don't recommend people to come to this restaurant. You will be treated like nothing you are.

Nice modern & clean Restaurant. The service was very good since we got placed in a private room. I didn't love the dim sum that much because i found it overly sweet for my palate for savoury dishes. The white egg tarts were sooo yummy!! Definitely will order those for take out next time

I was here for Dim Sum. And let me tell you good folks. You better have a reservation because this place is crazy busy. The dim sum dishes look 👀 elegant and classy. The dishes all taste 👅 on point. Classic HK Cantonese dim sum with a modern twist. This is a sister location to the one located at the equally busy Yorkdale Mall. I have frequented that location at Yorkdale Mall several times. And that location is quite beautifully designed with an elevated menu. So pack your patience or make a reservation and enjoy ☺️. The service is exceptional and the restaurants are clean and well appointed. A good solid experience to be had for sure. Happy Eats everyone 🥳

This is a very busy place, as today is the Civic holiday, and all the table are fully booked. Foods are good, and with special of the desserts, especially the dog one, and very cute! All different varieties of dim sum, the one with seawees, which very nice as well. Plus they have the robot to deliver the dim sum to certain tables. The red color is a special kind of "cheung fun", which texture very special. And is a very long line up, will need to make a reservation to be better if over 3 / 4 peole

I visited this restaurant for dinner, and my mother had a craving for Peking duck. The duck itself was good, but unfortunately, the wrap was overcooked and soggy. Additionally, we ordered the sea cucumber with fry vegetables, but it was initially missing the sea cucumber, and the portion seemed smaller than expected. When we brought it to the waitress's attention, they acknowledged their mistake and added the sea cucumber on top of the veggies, but by then, the vegetables had turned cold. It was quite disappointing as we couldn't enjoy a fresh, hot dish. Furthermore, the service was lacking as the waitresses seemed more attentive to other tables, possibly regular customers. We had to wave a few times to get their attention, which was quite frustrating. Overall, I'm disappointed with today's experience and hope they can improve their service and food quality.
