This is a hotel that seems tired. There are many imperfections in every room. Holes in the walls, holes in the shower stall, refrigerators that don't work, plumbing is bad, etc. DO NOT THINK THAT YOU WILL GET ANY INTERNET WORK DONE!!! It doesn't work, and you will get kicked off at any time. Youtube doesn't even work without constant buffering. The free breakfast is OK. Canned eggs, sausage etc. The waffles are scratch made though. Would love to rank this hotel better, but it has slipped significantly throughout the past 8 years. There is a new hotel across the street, pay more and go there.

Stayed at the hotel for several days and don't consider having a TV. When you turn it on you can't click guide to see one showing channels. The hotel gives you one on paper but it does not match the TV. For example the paper guide has 3 channel stations but you can't enter more that 2 numbers for a channel. Ask the front desk they have the same guide. You have to click the slow up and down to find something it sucked. Bring something to plug into the TV. With the price of the rooms you should get better TV service. They have a good breakfast and good service.

This place claims to be pet friendly, however I was told when I arrived at 5am that I was unable to stay there when I arrived with my small dog and kitten as they don't accept cats. Cats are very common pets, so it is inaccurate to claim you're a pet friendly hotel on your website - just say that you allow dogs only. I am lucky that I found another hotel that was truthful about their pet policy.

Do not use this hotel. The room was fine but Housekeeping tried to just open the door to my room 6 times the morning of check out. Good thing I had the latch on because they undid the deadbolt too and I didn't know they could do that. So... if you value privacy, don't go here.

It was clean and inexpensive while not being too far out of the way. It's really close to the airport, but we didn't have any issue with noise. The mall is also right there. It's only 10 minutes into downtown Roanoke, so it was pretty convenient. There are several food options within 5 minutes too. It was clean, the lady at the front desk was super nice. The rooms were clean. The breakfast was fine, nothing crazy special.

The staff was very nice and the accommodations were great. My girlfriend and I were in town and decided to stay here. I was very impressed with how clean the place was also, quite. It was a pleasant experience and definitely will be staying there again.

This is a very nice hotel, clean, very comfortable and located just a block away from a nice shopping mall and many good restaurants. We had no problem with noise or anything else for that matter. I loved that our room had a big, very clean bathtub. Standard hotel breakfast but food was good. Very generous coffee options in the lobby, including a great cappuccino machine. Our room had a larger than usual fridge and a microwave. Bed was so comfortable. The room wasn’t as attractive as others we’ve seen but It was very clean and comfortable and the furnishings were in excellent condition. And, the hotel had a really lovely heated enclosed pool just off the lobby, perfect for a frigid January night. We will definitely put this on our list of preferred travel hotels.

Breakfast options are limited, but most adequate. Parking is free. Rooms are clean and appointed well with an easy chair and small ottoman, desk & desk chair, small refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker. They need a working computer for their business center, but it was otherwise perfect for our one-night stay.

Needed the handicapped room. The room was nice and clean. However, the bed was to high and the toilet was too low. The handicapped room was the farthest from the elevator and the vending. Also the bathroom door swung the wrong way. No stand up shower only a tub. I gave a 2 star because of the functionality of the room. It was hard getting off the toilet. The bed was too high making it hard to get into.

The hotel is a bit outdated but for the price i can’t really complain. there was a bit of a concerning incident, as we found blood on a side mirror in the bathroom. it looked like blood anyway, but we didn’t report it because it was out of the way and we didn’t have time. it’s very possible staff accidentally overlooked it. the bed, chairs, and bathroom were all satisfactory and clean. i didn’t feel grossed out like i do in some budget hotels. the front desk staff were friendly without being overbearing and we didn’t have any issues with privacy. the pool looked nice but we didn’t use it. i liked that there were vending machines and ice in each hallway. if you’re looking for a decent budget hotel this place is pretty good.

Stayed for two nights, convenient location to highway and restaurant that we choose for dinner. Easy access to downtown as well. Parking has electric charger too! Breakfast was okay, nothing special. Has small pool to wear out the kids! Check it out when you get to Roanoke!!

Better than I expected, gym for example was above average when I stayed (for business) for 2 days and had only good things to say. Internet was free and adequate. Took advantage of hot breakfast on both days as I was in a big hurry (omelets , toast, Sausage, eggs, milk).

We stayed at Best Western Plus as a rest stop with our pup and it was a great time. The rooms were clean, breakfast was good, and the location is great. I also had an electric car and there were plenty of chargers off to the side. BJ at the front desk was a great help and super friendly!

I honestly cannot give a good rating for this hotel anymore. It seems every time we use it, the condition of the rooms get worse! I was awoken at roughly 2am when the thermostat triggered the heat to turn on for the below window unit. It started causing an allergy reaction causing me to cough, like something was really irritating my throat. I eventually shut the air off and pulled the filters for the unit and they were CLOGGED with only God knows how many months of dust and dead skin cells from previous guests (home dust is almost all dead skin cells)!! On top of that, there was a Ping-Pong ball sized hole in the shower from some epically generic “repair” job that I guarantee is collecting water/moisture inside the shower wall, down to the concrete floor beneath. The ONLY reason we use this location when visiting my folks down south is its low $20 pet fee as we have a small Havamalt (FULLY potty trained since 8-9 wks old!) I do not think I can continue patronizing this hotel anymore if the quality will continue to go down hill. ***A special note to ANYONE staying here*** …As soon as you get into the room, turn OFF the air system on the “on-wall” thermostat… then pull the two air filters below the air vents! Hope you aren’t squeamish to nasty… rinse them with HOT water from the shower, shake & pat dry, then reinstall. Turn on system & drape a towel over the vents to catch & deflect any dust that is ejected from disturbing the NASTY air system! **PS: After reading other reviews similar to mine… that were left months ago; it’s quite obvious Best Western Hotel Management at this location DOES NOT address these issues with their staff (though they continue to reply that they will “take immediate action to remedy”)! As the exact same issues continue to be problems! This hotel has seriously gone down hill over the last few years! The owner(s) are NOT putting money back into it for proper maintenance, cleaning and upkeep… let alone actual updating!

Hotel has good hot breakfast, eggs, sausage, waffles. Pool looks clean. Very pet freindly for our pup. Our room, however, was a little too pet freindly, so we went and bought some room spray and air freshners at the walkable dollar store. The staff was very nice. I waited to mention the smell issue until check out because all else was working in our room, and you never know!

The rooms are extremely outdated. Our mini fridge did not work, the carpets smell really bad in the room. We got the front desk to move us to another room because of the smell in the carpet it was making us gag. She did move us however, it still smelled in there. We just travelled a 12 hour day, and wanted to go to sleep

Everyone was nice no matter the time of day. Breakfast was hot and fresh and the shuttle to the airport was on time and quick. The driver was joyful. Would definitely recommend this location.

Stayed here on 4/25. Arrived around 8PM and was greeted at the front desk by BJ.. She was amazing and so very helpful. She was a complete joy to chat with and made us feel at home. We would definitely stay again.

Carpets are gross! Rooms smell moldy. I feel so sorry for people who stay there. Breakfast food is not up to par! May as well stay in a homeless shelter at this point. I’m old and it’s hard for me to get around. The bathrooms are not handicap safe! The staff are so rude and horrible. The blonde older lady was so rude and acted like she couldn’t understand what I was staying. Needs new management! Shut it down!

Our stay was perfect! We have small dog so options are limited. The room was well appointed, clean and quiet. Bed was so comfortable and we slept so well! We were on the first floor so easy access to the pet potty area outside. We also have an electric car and charging was free. Wife and son enjoyed the free cooked breakfast as well. Easy drive to downtown for Big Lick Brewery which is amazing (see review). The Chinese buffet restaurant we would not recommend unless you want to eat large quantities of buffet food. Hotel staff also very friendly!

From the moment we walked in on January 11, 2022 we were greeted. We got up to our room and it was clean, it smelled clean and it was very, very comfortable. We had a lovely night sleep. The hotel is close to TGI Fridays, Walmart, Starbucks and many other locations of various offerings.

UPDATE: after a second attempt at getting some help with the stinky room, I was graciously offered a different room that definitely met my expectations. The AC Is actually working and the floors are clean and the stench is not present. I appreciate the effort by the staff to remedy the situation. I will say, however, if you are traveling with dogs, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel because if the room I was any indication of the other “pet friendly” rooms, then they are really bad. This is the nastiest Best Western I’ve ever stayed at, I’m gagging as I type this. For the $150 price tag I am absolutely mind-blown. Booked a pet-friendly room for myself and my small dog. We’ve stayed at numerous BW but this one didn’t come close to meeting the mark of standard BW experiences. The stench of the room was astounding. Like urine and wet dirty dog. I’m guessing the carpets need cleaned or something, or just removed. The air conditioner was barely blowing air, and the entire room felt muggy, mildewy and disgusting. I inquired about the horrendous odor and the front desk told us that’s normal for pet friendly rooms. It may be normal for y’all’s nasty hotel but I assure you it’s not normal for anywhere else we’ve ever stayed. Also told us there’s nothing that can be done about it. So we just won’t return to this hotel again when we come to our monthly Roanoke visits. I don’t expect to come to a hotel and be given a filthy room, and no one should be charged $150 for a filthy room. So gross!

Rooms are clean. Wasn't a big fan of the pool given the fact that it is open to the lobby, which gave little privacy for swimming because of too many onlookers in the lobby area. Breakfast was ok , not much selection for healthy eating, too many sugary cereals and no skim milk available for the healthy eaters but overall it's good for the price. Also staff very nice

Have stayed here a few times. It's been a good stop for our travels down South. Staff is friendly, rooms are clean and the included breakfast offers eggs, sausage, make your own waffles, cereal, juice, milk, coffee, etc.

Nice room. Friendly staff. Good variety of food for breakfast. Only issue was my handicapped accessible room was at the far end of the hall away from the elevator. Difficult walk for someone with mobility issues. Not the first hotel I've had this issue with.

Great weekend stay. We were in town for a basketball tournament and it was my birthday so we just decided to stay. I booked the hotel due to a fitness room with variety and an indoor pool (due to rain). The entire stay was great. From Ms Carson at check in and the various ladies and gentlemen working around the hotel, everyone was super friendly. That is hard to find these days. Our room was very clean and spacious. There was a coffee maker, microwave and mini fridge. A nice lounge chair, desk with chair and 2 queen beds. We really had a positive experience. I have worked in hotels as a GSM, food service attendant, auditor and housekeeping and I'm so pleased with how the hotel is ran (based on what I saw).

Excellent staff that care here. The manager of this hotel, and Staff really stepped up for me. I'm a tenant of Stratford Village Apartment's and we are homeless due to a fire that is currently under investigation. I will never forget my stay at this hotel. They protected me from stalkers that were actually tenants at Stratford Village Apartment's. Thank You to the staff, I appreciate your Compassion and Support.

First, no bugs in my room. Today you could be at a 5 star 300+ a night hotel and a critter can jump onto luggage in the plane and start a home in a hotel room. They don't discriminate. My room was very clean. And other then the TV on all night in the next room it was extremely quit for being full. The breakfast area was small and had a cramped buffet set up of typical waffle sausage eggs and biscuits. But no gravy. Very disappointing. No coffee either. Basic cereal and vanilla yogurt as well as thawed packaged muffins. They have a water cooler in the lobby that was empty. When I asked the woman where to get bottled water she was kind to give us a few each. She said that was a brand new system but it has to be manually loaded with huge jug of water underneath. I also saw an electric car charging station outside the lobby door.

Hotel was clean. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast was good. Extremely close to Valley View Mall and restaurants. I would stay here again. The only problem I experienced was a housekeeper talking very loudly on speaker cell phone early in the morning which woke me up.

Stayed for 12 days and couldn't get my room cleaned unless I checked out and I asked 4x. They had my charges for my room all messed up and it never got straight and I gave up. However, the bed was fantastic. The workers are very friendly. Love the water pressure of shower.

The room is not very clean. It smells funky. The bed sheet has lots of dark spots on it. There's a cigarette burnt hole on our blanket (for a non-smoking room). Breakfast is free and decent. The noise level here is horrendous. We stayed 1 night last night on our road trip to FL with our 6 years old and an 11-months old baby. My guy went to sleep in his traveling crib around 9 pm and was sleeping soundly until 10:10 pm until a black family returning/coming to their rooms. Apparently, they rent 3 rooms around our room. For a good 30 minutes, they ran in/out several rooms, laughing, screaming, knocking on several doors (one time on our door included). That's so rude considering the time was around 10:30 pm. My little guy kept waking up crying out loud. That didn't seem to stop those very rude/uneducated people from lessen their noise level at all. I finally went out to tell them to stop making ruckus. The thing is we stayed in the 1st floor, not far from the front desk, and nobody would bother to come check on the unacceptable noise level at bedtime hour like that. I was so very mad that our little guy woke up and cried for so long before he could go back to sleep again.

From check-in, two days stay. To check out. Accommodations were excellent. Personnel were absolutely courteous and helpful. Rooms were nice and clean, who cares about if they were dated. It was warm comfortable and clean. Sometimes people comment about dated hotels. I'm not sure where they stay normally, but this was right up to A+ ratings.

The rooms where very clean, the beds very very comfortable. We got the two double beds room, the had a great reclining chair with a foot stool that my son and I fought over ( never gave hubby a chance to sit in). The staff was very friendly from the front desk to the cleaning crew. The pool was closed (routine maintenance) but they had a deal with the nearby Comfort Inn that we could use their pool if we showed keys. The only downside was that the wifi was very spotty. We did not ask about this so I don't know if it could have been fixed to be better or not we just used our unlimited data. We would definitely give this hotel another chance.

I am giving one star because of this location"s discriminatory policy of not allowing local residents to stay here. I had made reservations through the Best Western system for 3 nights here because I am moving back to the area and my new place was not quite ready. Nothing on the website about not renting to locals, it is not a corporate policy either although the front desk person insisted it was. Yet when I tried to check in she informed me I could not stay there. TOTALLY disappointed in Best Western and would encourage you to stay somewhere that is NOT DISCRIMINATORY. **In response to the response. How would I or anyone know of this stupid policy. I traveled 300 miles to suddenly not have a reservation. And yes I found a room nearby because not all of the area hotels are like you. Will never stay at a Best Western anywhere again.

The best thing about this place was the gentleman that took care of the pool. He cares about the hotel and the customers. The breakfast was disappointing. Squashed in a few tables so tight, the table next to me had to move a child so I could get to the next table. Hopefully they will be remodeling this area soon.

The rooms were not clean at all. Broken bathroom hardware to Inc shower rod, towel rod. Toilet was very dirty with dried pee at the base. Room service did not make the beds in between our nightly stay and towels were not replaced. There was a broken blow dryer. The breakfast was eh and def not a selling point. While we did not use the pool, it was cloudy and looked dirty. The staff were very nice and accommodating when needed. Due to the high volume of visitors in the area this hotel was a def last resort option. In my opinion for the money that was spent, I would rather not stay in the area at all if other arrangements were not available. I will not be staying at this hotel again

We had to change rooms because the toilet was broken. There is also no fan in restroom and TV glitches every 10-15 seconds. Maids do not clean your room unless you call down and make the request which I can actually appreciate but this was not told to us during check in. Our room was not cleaned thoroughly and there was maple syrup all over the desk that was left from the previous person that wasn't cleaned by maid service. Best Western can do better.
