Last
winter
we
were
adventuring
across
New
Zealand’s
North
Island
during
the
Fifa
Women’s
World
Cup
and
when
we
ended
our
trip
in
Auckland
the
Hallertau
Brewery
caught
my
partner’s
eye.
The
German
beers
caught
his
“beer
nerd”
attention
and
the
food
menu
sounded
perfect
in
the
chilly
weather.
We
came
for
the
beers
but
it’s
the
food
that
we’ve
kept
talking
about.
The
wood
fire
honeycomb
Brie
may
have
been
one
of
the
best
things
we
tasted
during
our
whole
trip.
It
was
tasty,
smelled
amazing
and
just
looked
gorgeous.
The
fries
with
smoked
mayo
were
a
fantastic
starter
and
then
we
shared
the
lamb
shoulder.
It
was
flawless
and
fell
off
the
bone.
It
was
the
perfect
example
of
how
good
New
Zealand
lamb
can
be.
We
loved
the
drinks
we
had
too.
We
did
the
beer
and
cider
tastings
and
some
of
the
descriptions
for
the
beers
were
humorous.
The
drinks
and
food
really
complimented
one
another.
Even
though
it
was
a
quiet
night
at
the
brewery
it
had
a
such
great
vibe.
The
servers
were
attentive
but
also
chill
and
were
very
kindly
talking
with
us
tipsy
chatty
tourists.
We’d
both
love
to
revisit
one
day
and
can
only
imagine
how
fun
a
place
the
beer
garden
must
be
on
a
summers
day.
We’re
so
happy
we
went
and
I
highly
recommend
it!
