We ended up spending only 1 night vs. 4 nights we wanted to spend. -Rooms were dirty. - Day security was rude. - Breakfast is paid for separately (R150 for 1 egg 1 slice bread, 1 slice bacon - asked for toast they forgo, reminded them they they brought untoasted bread)

Dont get me wrong this place is beutifull, but they are way overpriced if you plan to go there dont go sit down at the restaurant because they are very overpriced we paid for a 300ml Castle light R55 and for a 300ml Coke R40. I think they need new ownership at the restaurant because surly they can't be overcharging people that bad.and the food R130 for a dry bland tasteless burger that was gross. JUST A REMINDER BRING YOUR OWN THINGS TO BRAAI AND DRINK YOU WILL SAVE YOURSELF A FORTUNE AND YOU WILL ENJOY YOUR FOOD MORE.

The people working there are awesome and gave us 5 star service however the owner needs to step up big time to get the rooms, surroundings more neater. Definitely needs aircons in the rooms

we booked for the Christmas buffet yesterday. The buffet should come with a first come first serve or while stock lasts warning. THEY UNDERCATER then blame it on the guests. THEY ARE DISORGANIZED. I forgot to take a picture of what was supposed to be a Christmas lunch. It was the worst Christmas my family and I ever had. We were told that we'll be told when to go and dish , some serving dishes were empty by the time were got there. We waited so long that they were serving dessert by the time we were dishing the main but most of the dessert was also finished but silly us thought they would refill. My mum saw what was happening and advised us to get our dessert at the same time... THERE WERE NO DESSERT BOWLS OR SIDE PLATES FOR CAKE so we couldn't. By the time they got bowls they only had Malva pudding left . We addressed this as we paid for the full menu. The only response were got was sorry. Just imagine our kids seeing others enjoying cakes and other lovely treats and standing at the dessert table waiting for over 15 minutes for a bowl to dish fruit salad in. It was beyond disappointing

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.... The service was terrible, on arrival they wanted me pay cash even though I had sent proof of payment and they acknowledged receiving it months ago. Suddenly the money doesn't reflect when I get there, after fight with the recipients for over 15, they allowed us to check in. The towels are old and thinned out, the rooms are super cold, the fire place didn't work, the electric blankets didn't work as well. 24hr room service is a lie, in fact there is no room service, what ever it is you need, you will have to drive down to the reception. We had to request and remind them to do everything, cleaning the room daily, bring us clean towel. The 1st 2 days there was no hot water, it was a nightmare

Beautiful Property, which gives off that "Holiday Vibe" that lodges in the Bush would portray except no game animals are to be seen. Overall, the venue is a great place for conferences and weddings as scenery is beautiful. Food and alcohol prices are hefty, though. Make sure those pockets are deep if you plan on spending an afternoon sipping alcoholic beverages and grabbing a bite to eat at the bar area!!

Great weekend getaway spot, exceptional customer service, gives a feel that one is out of the city, but the malls a close by if you need anything.

We were there a week ago. We stayed in the African cottage. Not happy at all. The plugs in the bath doesnt work, the latches on the windows were broken, the fan was noisy, the bedlamps didnt even have switches. The kitchen sink didnt even have a plug. Overall did not feel well looked after and not a very nice experience. Especially for what they advertise and what you pay.

Stayed in a safari tent (they are lovely) The one closest to the road. When the wind blew there was a putrid smell upon further investigation I came across what seemed to be sewerage water a couple meters away from the safari tent . We had absolutely NO hot water at all taking cold showers in winter is no joke. When I complained they brushed if off saying you know loadshedding etc. They have massive generators There was a lot of road noise all night. And a huge party was being thrown by other guests right through the night. The dogs in the area were barking non stop. The premises is very run down. It has all the potential to be a wonderful place. But seeing the chapel and venue was shocking. Filthy as filthy gets πŸ˜‚

Wow!!! Such an amazing place, beautiful decor, stunning rooms and excellent service. Valentine is such a great host, and a real people's person, Basil welcomed us at Amadwala lodge and is the perfect gentleman. Thanks to everyone who took care of us. The food and drinks are a bit expensive.

First of all the parking is miles away from any part of the lodge and when it’s raining it’s really not pleasant. The rooms are extremely overpriced for what you pay for and need some work done. The bathrooms are not in good condition and the bath was filthy, hot water ran out after one shower. When turning the tap on to fill the bath there was this smell of sewage that’s extremely off putting. No keys left to get onto the balcony. No manager on duty or any contact details left to contact anyone. The staff at reception were not very friendly and didn’t make us feel welcome at all!

I had a lovely lunch at the restaurant, the space is refreshing, the employees are professional and friendly. I enjoyed the afternoon here, looking forward to booking their accommodation and chilling by the pool again.

The rooms were perfect and very clean. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. There were however no one to ensure the 'no loud noises' rule so unfortunately on a Saturday evening other guests kept us awake till after midnight. And we were also woken up with music the next morning which was unpleasant. Especially because the weekend getaway was to rest and take a break. But otherwise it was a very nice stay.

The stay and food was good but I had one complaint. After we arrived we went to the swimming pool for the afternoon. When we got but to the Tent we stayed in my shoes were gone. I reported it to the manager but he never got back . We left the next morning without any explanation or feedback on my complaint. I am very disappointed 😞

The restaurant is nice. So if u want to do a day visit u will enjoy. But if u want to sleep over don't expect alot. We booked a chalet and we got way less than what we expected for the price we paid. Compared to other lodges we have been to at the same rate, I would rate this the lowest. The floors and the bathroom needs some work. Also they need to fix the insects problem. The balcony is nice, thats the only thing I can compliment.

Bookings and confirmation were great and upon Check in, they explained everything nicely. The place was neat and well kept. However there is room for improvement on the braai facilities. We were braaing and it started raining. Recommendation is to put on a shelter to accommodate rainy and hot weather conditions. Otherwise it was a good stay

We had the best time! If you stay for a wedding nearby I’d strongly recommend a second night to cure the hangover. The place is beautiful and very calming, staff is super friendly and contribute to the Zen vibes with their kinda slow pace. Loved the food - def consider to go for the 3 course menu and maybe even a package deal with massage and bubbles.

I can comfortable say this is one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at. Awful service from start to finish, delayed check in with a significantly long wait and poorly kept rooms which desperately need a renewal (absolutely not worth 2300r a night) including ants everywhere. And to top it off, told to our faces breakfast was free to then be charged 180r per person which we waited 45 min for. Very poor management who’s only method of action was to say β€œI’m so sorry” on repeat. Please avoid this place. Not worth it.

A beautiful place within the city to get away from all the hustle and bustle. It has lovely cabins that make you feel like you're far away in the woods. The food is amazing and the staff are great.

The place needs a bit of maintenance (TLC). I noticed that the chapel and the events area have been neglected, doubt they have been used in the last 3 years really but with a little bit of a revamp, I'm sure they could host really lovely events here. I enjoyed staying in the Chalet/cabin, however the bathroom could do with a deep clean atleast once a month. The food exceeded my expectations, the chef is really good and the service was the best. All in all it a great place to stay, I will visit again and book the Chalet with a private pool.

Not worth the price. The pool chalet was ordinary, the place isn't that clean. Food is overpriced

  • 3/5 Tokky A. 2 years ago on Google
Very good concept. Good customer service. Location is great for events of all types. There is a lot of potential. Many parts of the place need TLC to demonstrate commitment on the part of the owner(s)/management. Need to improve signage to not only lead people to the lodge but also promote its existence.

From the driveway, where you needed 4 x4 vehicle because the road is so bad, to the reception which was unfriedly & not helpful, to the chalet, having to climb up & down stairs and cross narrow briges without the help of a porter to carry your luggage from the parking area which is far away from the chalet. At 13H30 in the afternoon some visitors were shouting & screaming next to the pool. The whole venue felt totally unsafe ! This is a pathetic β€œLodge” !!

Phenomenal weekend getaway spot with great views of the city in a bush like setting. The rooms are clean and pleasant. Staff is friendly and very helpful in making your stay comfortable. The spa treatments are fantastic as well. The restaurant makes great chips, better than I've had in a long time. However not a vegan friendly environment. All in all good for value for money.

The only thing that we liked was their bed, other than everything was just a mess. Their tent was too dark, when booking I was never given an option to choose from the cabin and the tent.

The service is very bad πŸ‘Ž I went to ask for an Iron at the reception 8am the I waited outside for about 8 minutes to get a response of they don't have Iron they can take my clothes and Iron them at their laundry room . I didn't have any problem with that but 50 minutes later the guy is not coming back with my clothes unitl i decide to go and check out....only to find out that he didn't even touch anything...so I had to wear them just like tha😑

The room was clean and the staff amazing. Everything was peaceful , a little loud at night as the tenst are very close to each other but , amazing and relaxing weekend. Close to so many attractions. We really enjoyed our break away.

This Lodge is the worst lodge we have been to by far. We checked out of the lodge 45min after checking in and requested a refund. Drunk day visitors having parties,Loud music,Screaming and Shouting. When we checked in there were beer bottles and litter lying on the ground around the pool, bar and restaurant. Rooms are pathetic, old, dirty and seriously need maintenance. This Lodge is not worth 1 star. Dont go to this lodge as you will be dissapointed. What a waste of time and money.......
