Finally stopped in the famed hot dog stand a couple of weeks ago after a long hiatus. Lived in RL from May '89-Nov '02 which is when I was in & out of this place along with a few other RL area favs. Not just hot dogs but their overall menu has always been awesome. Good prices, friendly service and tasty quality eats will keep you coming back to this wonder. Been living in Beach Park for nearly the last 19 years so unfortunately I usually end up some place much closer when in the mood for a Chicago grill. Been at least a couple of years since I've been to Scotty's, though. After biting into that dog & fries automatically it brought me back in time. Gonna try to make it out here a bit more often 'cause I definitely miss this taste!😎👍

Been coming here since I was a kid. The hot dogs dont taste the same anymore. Like the meat is old or something. Maybe they're not using Vienna anymore? Idk. They just don't taste good. Definitely going downhill. Very sad.

I've been going to Scotty's my entire 50 year's of existence. I've known the original owners and have now met the new owners on three occasions. I guess I'm a loyal tradionalist? That being said yesterday was the worst experience ever. There's no reason to serve cold hotdogs at lunchtime! The previous visit there was no salt on the fries. They earned a 2 star rating for the mediocre pizza puff. Not sure if I'll be back. Nostalgia only lasts so long.

Ordered 2 ruebans 2-16-22 no rye bread smallest amount of meat plop of sauce and kraut for $ 18.50 will not return. Long time customer will not be returning miss old owners .

Always fast, easy service. There food tastes great. They have tacos that are cheaper and taste better than most of the Mexican restaurants out here. They just don't have limes or green sauce, they have taco sauce tho.

We love to go out. Last night we came to this fine place which we didn’t know before. We passed a delightful experience there with exceptional cooking and a courteous stuff and a talented cook. We put this restaurant in our list and we will surely visit again soon. We deeply recommend.

Oh how the great Scottys has fallen, new owners really jacked up the prices and portions sizes have diminished. Its a real shame such a great establishment has been in business for over 60 years and how in the last year and a half its fallen. A real slap in the face to all the loyal customers of the community, the silver lining is that service is still good and new food options

New owners don’t know how to cook. I order fries and a gyro they fill the fryer basket so the middle fries don’t cook all the way. The gyro meat was frozen. And I was charged $15. Never again. Don’t waste your time and money. Oh and their gyro looked like a soft shell taco from taco bell

Charges 81 cent for a cup of ice in the summer. If I could do a negative star review I woulda.

By far the worst Italian beef I’ve ever had in my life. Definitely a beef you’d expect out of like, I don’t know, nowhere Nebraska. Super good soup, fair pricing, and friendly staff. Would try other stuff but avoid the Italian beef at all costs

How do you screw up a ChicagoDog. Hot dog was cold and bun was was stale. Been going there for years no more.

We've been buying Scotty's since 1973. The hot dogs were out of this world and they wrap the fries with the hot dogs. However, the original owners sold the hot dog stand recently and now the hot dogs have no taste. I won't go there again.

Always friendly service with a smile. Best Hot dogs and Gyros around. Been coming here for 25 years. I always support small businesses.

The workers are always polite and kind. The service is fast and accurate, never had a problem with my orders. The food is DELICIOUS highly recommend the Italian beef egg rolls, so freaking good, another must try are gyros and Chicago style dogs. They also have whole pickles and they are one of the few places where you can buy a whole pickle. They are very generous with their fries.

Tiny place great food, again not the cleanliness restraunt and certainly not large enough to host guest seating but a drive by lunch spot Damn right!!

I've been going to Scotty's for 5 years I work right by the place and if I buy something under $4 under $5 they charge me $2 just to buy it so I mean you think a guy that's been there for years they would wave that but these people they don't

Scottys is a a dive hot dog stand. While it perpetually seems kind of dirty and run down. the dogs are ALWAYS good. They are one of the few places that actually put saurkraut on dogs anymore. and they have the florecent green relish (always awesome) I have been visiting since early 80s. You always get a LOT of fries and they wrap them with the dogs.. although now they ask if you want them seperate for some reason. They have a few dozen things on the menu but the dogs are always the same. they are the most consistant of dive places I visit.

Scotty's used to be the best hotdogs for years, I've been going there for 40yrs.But since they sold they have young kids servicing customers. The last three times they messed up our orders. The wife couldn't even stand inside it stunk like sewer. I guess all good thing come to a end,we will not eat there again.

Definitely a good first experience! Beef was very good. Chili cheese fries was good as well. Fries were top notch. Definitely coming back to try more of the menu!

Not sure if there a new owner or whats going on but the food quality and service has significantly dropped from when I was a child in round lake. Plus the place is very dirty and out off date. I'll try again after covid if we happen to pass by when visiting family.
