Lovely to eat here, sitting on the square. Always music nearby to add ambience to the atmosphere. Food is fresh & well prepared, very tasty. Good selection of classic Brasilian foods served with a modern twist. Enjoyed our evening meal here, looking at the Sao Francisco Church next door.

My wife and I spent a few nights here while visiting Salvador, and what a treat it was. Gilberto helped check us in and he is amazing, friendly, and went out of his way to try to find tickets for a show de we wanted to see. The location is spectacular and right in the middle of everything. The rooms all have different themes and are super comfortable and spacious. Breakfast was delicious and got us to try some new local dishes. 10/10 would stay again.

Not only this place is amazing, but the staff makes the stay absolutely wonderful giving an amazing welcoming feeling. They were lovely with our two young kids and they gave super useful tips on restaurants, bars, beaches.... and everything else we needed. Thank you! Note: Pelourinho can be sketchy after sunset, be prepared for that.

I wanted to stay in a colonial style house in the middle of the historic area, and it's exactly the experience I had at this hotel. It's located on the main square, the house is hundreds of years old, it has been lovingly restored and furnished, and I could just open the French windows in my room to look at the life at the main square. The bed in my room was huge and comfortable, the bathroom was perfectly clean, internet was fast, and the staff speaks English. It is also literally next door to a tourist police station, so I felt safe outside in the area even after dark. The elevator is about 6 minutes away, and the historic area is within easy walking distance. It costs more than I usually pay when I travel, but it certainly delivers great experience for the money.

What an experience! The hotel itself is a stunning structure. The details & history in the building kept us in awe. The location is perfect, the views are breathtaking. With all of this, it says a lot that our favorite part of the experience was the staff! Such caring, friendly, and helpful people. We have such warm feelings about this hotel after our stay. We will surely be back.

This incredibly charming boutique hotel is located inside 2 adjacent mansions dating to the 17th and 18th Centuries, remnants of the Portuguese era. The hotel has 17 rooms, and our room (and all the rooms in the front of the hotel) overlooks the plaza and the Baroque Church of São Francisco (rebuilt in 1686). Each room is named for a place colonized by the Portuguese. The rooms and the whole hotel are renovated to preserve their original spirit. Our room (Mozambique) was very large with a queen-sized bed, 10-foot high ceilings and a large shower. The bed and the linens on it were very comfortable. The hotel has several courtyards, indoor seating areas and a plunge pool. Breakfast, which is included, was very good. This hotel is very reasonable for the quality it offers and is very close to perfect. The location is excellent if you are planning to explore the old part of the city of Salvador—almost everything is within walking distance. The hotel's owner, Bruno Guinard is a Frenchman who has lived in Bahia for over 30 years. The hotel employees are all very helpful and friendly (they also speak English).

Wow what a marvelous hotel. Such detail everywhere you look. The hotel actually has a cool hidden surprise in the back...I'll let you find it. The area is tricky to park...but just trust the people around you... and carry your bags and be done with it. That was the only tricky part. Super narrow streets. But totally worth it.

We stayed in Villa Bahia on our trip to Salvador and we loved it! The hotel is gorgeous, beautifully renovated. The staff is the nicest and superhelpful. And their restaurant actually serves the best food we’ve had on our trip. We tried a few other recommended places, but the food we had at Villa Bahia was by far the best. Don’t miss to try the Octopus (main dish) and Pumpkin-Leek risotto, desert - Chocolate mousse.

The Hotel and The Staff, especially, were amazing. So friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and decor of the entire place so interesting, the whole vibe of the place was comfortable, yet you could feel the history. The food was very good. Get the octopus for dinner, and don't forget the coconut tapioca served at their free breakfast, because it is perfection. Definitely made Bahia the highlight of our recent trip to Brazil!

Little gem inside Pelourinho with a little swimming pool to cool off, rooftop, beautiful interior, perfect location to explore the city and wonderful breakfast. Room a little bit to small for a family with 3 children.

Lovely place. Salvador can be edgy, but this is in a safe and secure part. People are always manning the door, really helpful staff. An oasis.

Lovely boutique hotel right in the buzzing center of Salvador at one of the main squares. We had a wonderful spacious room, nicely decorated and the bed was incredibly comfortable. Pretty bathroom with a strong shower, quality towels and a seating area in the hallway with a couch and TV. The staff is friendly and the breakfast is good with fresh cut fruits, yoghurt, granola, bread, eggs and a local dish. I celebrated my birthday during our stay and when returning to our room we found a bottle of champagne with a little note. How attentive! :) We hope to return some day.
