I was here for dinner in a group. Let me first start by saying the decor and presentation of the restaurant is very well done and extremely welcoming. The food is moderately priced for what it is but is extremely filling and packed full of flavour. The coconut rice was definitely a stand out and possibly the best I have ever had. Considering the lack of customers in the restaurant the service was slightly slow. Overall still a fantastic meal that I would happily recommend.

Ordered a take out. Good portions and good value for money. A bit too much gravy in both dishes and quite heavy, lacking in fresh vegetables. Lived in India myself and still looking for that authentic Indian in Brisbane.

The dinning here is the best Food is amazing Even through covid they did their best, even short staffed and yet there are always certain people who complain all the time. Stay at home we dont want you sitting with us if all you do is run the staff down and moan about food. As everyone can see there is 95% great reviews and 5% poor reviews says it all, some people have nothing better to do. Keep up the great flavours and service Aamaya. We drive 40 mins to dine with you. 👍👍👍👍👍👍

We love Indian food Midweek Thursdays or Fridays. Particularly, we are fans of the cuisine from the Punjab, a region split by the Pakistan-Indian border. The regional food was made famous for its use of the Tandoori oven. (And of course the region is also famous for the religion of the Sikhs. If you surname is Singh and you don't cut your hair on your head, you are probably a Sikh.) Our favourite naan (from the Tandoori oven) is the Naan Amini or naan stuffed with paneer and spinach. Sooo Good!!!! Aamaya doesn't disappoint. Often, we just feel like Tandoori naan and Pappadums to start of dinner. Aamaya delivered again and again! For mains, there is a good selection of vegetarian and seafood curries. We order the extra hot, which is just under Indian hot. Two of those are more than enough for the two of us. We enjoy a glass of beer or a bottle of wine to share and the restaurant has a good selection of wines that are very fairly priced!!! In finishing, I would say, if you haven't tried this restaurant give it a go. Parking at Portside wharf is free for 3 hours in the basement car park after valuation of your ticket. After dinner, we like to have a short stroll along the river and wharf. Just loveley!

This is a fantastic, family-run Indian restaurant. The fit out is beautiful, the staff are lovely, and their food is affordable. Most important, their food tastes amazing. So many places can't do naan properly but this place absolutely nails it.

One star curries and probably the worst I’ve had in 40 years.! I have been a few times now and they used to be amazing, but the last time we went all three curry dishes were runny and watery. We will never come back! Now we will have to discover a new curry house.

I don’t like leaving reviews but me and my partner went here a few weeks ago and it’s still bothering me. The main thing I want to say is that I ordered dal makhani and it definitely was not, it was just plain and simple dahl. If I wanted that, I could easily make it better at home, I’m just disappointed that we paid so much money for medi-ocre food that wasn’t even made how it’s supposed to be. Management was fine. But also yikes, wish I read these reviews and the disgusting responses from management before I went because they definitely would not have got my business. Do better.

Excellent food and nice staff. Really enjoyed the Dhal and Naan bread which was complimentary. I think I could live on that alone! I would recommend trying Aamaya.

Unsure how this place has got 5 stars. You can pretty much tell how good an Indian restaurant is from a dish called Biriyani. It is not easy to get this right, and Aamaya fell far from even getting close to getting this dish right. The dish actually tasted sweet which is not what it is supposed to be. I ordered medium and the dish was below mild! Quite disappointed with the garlic naan also which also came no where near the real thing. I had ordered takeaway - the guy was quick to grab my card and didn't even thank me for my business. Truly disappointed for a restaurant with "five star" reviews!

For the first time in Brissy I enjoyed "Hara bhara" kababs. They were genuinely made, looked good and were very tasty. The "Malai Kofta" was also the best I have had in Brisbane. In totality the evening was well spent. Full 5 stars to food and ambience. The missing star is for service which was prompt but without a smile or any engagement of any sort, which was the dampener for me. Hence the rating is 4 overall.

I would have given this place a much better rating but our experience was tainted. We were welcomed with open arms to dine in and the service and friendliness was impeccable at the start. But less than an hour after we had been seated and seemingly as as soon we finished our main meals we were asked to leave the restaurant as they had a booking. We still had wine left in our glasses and in the bottle we bought. We were contemplating dessert but our decision was made for us so we left. If we had of known that there was a booking for our table we would not have ordered a bottle of wine and would have been prepared for the abruptness of what was to come. There were also tables outside free which we could have been seated at instead of inside where we could have been able to not gone through this. the feeling of being shooed out ruined the experience for us unfortunately. The food was lovely and the service (apart from the end) was great.

Hey Guys, I ordered takeaway from Amaya Hamilton Last night and I ordered Shahi paneer and Garlic Baan but the naan breads are not tandoori naan, Bread are pretty much frozen and dry in taste.

It is the best Indian restaurant I have been to in the entire time I've been in Australia, which is about 2 years. I've tried a dozen Indian places atleast, but the food, along with the service and atmosphere is unmatched. It would be my first pick for my favourite local cuisine, any day of the week.

My husband and I had tandoori chicken, chicken korma, palak paneer, garlic naan and a bottle of red wine for dinner at Aamaya. What a wonderful surprise 😁. The food was yummy and reminded us on the Indian food we used to have 20 plus years ago. Aamaya is highly recommended. The food is beautiful, the service is excellent and the atmosphere was relaxed. We will definitely come back again for more

Such a great dine in experience. The butter chicken was exceptional, served in a creamy well balanced sauce. Delicious coconut rice and the best garlic and cheese naan! Could not ask for anything better! Excellent customer service, staff are friendly and attentive - could not fault! Aamaya is one of the top Indian Restaurants in Brisbane, by far exceeds may others 5/5 stars.

Excellent Indian Meal. Been to this lovely restaurant couple of times during my stay in Brisbane. Super impressed with decor, ambience, food and attentive service. Seemed like a lovely owner run business, and it reflected in attention to detail towards smallest of the things, incl generous portion sizes and great presentation Would highly recommend to try it and use it as a benchmark for your dining experience (at least Indian cuisine), and you'll be coming back for more. Great going guys, all the best 👍

We went there after Van Gogh alive. Food was delicious and fast. Excelente service. The waitress was kind and attentive to our needs. Delicious naan complementary with curry. I had a great time and I ate more than I should have! Will come back.

A nice setting with that classic Indian furniture and artwork. We were welcomed by the staff, who while training, were courteous and efficient The menu is the usual; we shared a platter and had mains, rice and naan. Overall above average for Brisbane, but for the curry connoisseur it’s nothing amazing Overall we stop by if we were hungry but would go out of our way to indulge

It was delicious. Staff were very kind. Only one thing, the amount of food I order, 3 entrees and 3 main meals was not enough like I order, feel like it is not that much. Except that, everything was good :)

Excellent and delicious! Friends of ours recommended Aamaya as being one the best Indian restaurants in the area, and we were not disappointed. The flavours and quality of everything we tried was delicious, especially the Lamb Korma :))) Great wine list also at very reasonable prices. Will be back for sure!

Narendra Modi has not had better butter chicken and neither have I! Great Indian food. Best in Brisbane for certain. This restaurant is run by a couple who have dedicated their lives to great Indian food. We almost didn’t come because of the caustic reviews, so glad we did. When you care so much about something you’ve put your life into, I can understand the responses from the Mandeep the owner. Here we are, my wife and I next morning, wishing we had leftovers. We’ll be back! See you soon Mandeep!

Probably the best indian food in Brisbane !! Have eaten few times here and was never disappointed. I took takeaway yesterday and received free raita along with biryani. Cheese and garlic naan is recommended. Naan was slim and not doughy. Best I have ever had.

I have never left a review for a food place, but this restaurant deserves the praise! Never had a bad experience and constantly bringing new friends who are also so impressed with the food and service. The main gentlemen who I believe to be the owner is incredibly friendly and helpful. The place is super clean and the quality is consistent! Best Indian restaurant in Brisbane!!!

The food is alright Customer service is horrible as the google showed the place kitchen is open until 8:45pm and I went there with my mates 8:00pm Just because they did not have any customers they told me sorry kitchen is close u can do take away. This shows me that even the high end restaurants in Brisbane do not operate with what they post on google which is a shame . Honestly in 2023 we are not supposed to call restaurant’s as we trust the information posted by owners in google. However, 8:00pm is not an awkward time to go out for food and I did not expect that from Ammaya staff If they did not had anyone coming to them is not at all my problem. All they care is how they can make money by overcharging people by telling them we cannot do fine dine etc I do not appreciate that behaviour

The food here was really good I enjoyed my evening. We had the fish molly and a spinach lamb dish. Both were great. The cheese and spinach Naan was not too rich for me but my partner really liked it. Service was quick. Food came out out promptly. Overall a good experience . I would eat here again if wanting Indian.

We just had dinner at Aamaya and were pleased with both the service and the food. Our food was enjoyable, though we found ourselves requesting extra salt – a minor adjustment for our personal taste. The dessert menu left us wanting for a broader selection. Good place to dine will come back!

Great service, the food was timely, and delicious the host was full of humour and made the visit enjoyable, they also were attentive to check up on us during our meal to see if it was all going well. The location was nice too. We went for a short walk along the waterfront to help settle all the food we had! Would recommend and will return.

This is an interesting place. The restaurant was not busy. This us not a bad thing. The staff were super attentive. The meals presented we're a great standard. The butter chicken was over-seasoned with salt. But failing this, it was a good meal. Give it a go. Be prepared, they do charge a credit/debit card fee on all transactions. Dinner for four with a shared starter was over $140.00 Two of those dishes were the $14.00 butter chicken special. 1 x beer, 1 x Glass house wine, 2 x cokes, onion bharji to start, and two rice.

  • 3/5 Nigel 1 year ago on Google
Started with the Onion Bhaji with we really enjoyed but found the Veg Samosa too dry for us, even with the dip. For main we shared one of our favourite Indian dishes, Goat Curry with Veg Pulao Rice, goat was cooked well but the gravy was not to our liking. To go with the main, we also ordered Roti and Garlic Naan, dry and a little hard, didn't work well with the main at all. Such a shame as we were expecting a lot more from reading the reviews.

  • 4/5 Helen P. 1 year ago on Google
Lovely flavours & food, happy to travel a bit to get here. Very busy but the staff were attentive & efficient without making you feel rushed. Lacking one star as it was really noisy so acoustics could be better & naan was a bit overdone but others had better naan so just a one off I think. Would definitely go back.

I don't usually do reviews but I just wanted to leave a note to say thank you to the Aamaya team. I live in the area and got takeaway from Aamaya last night and was so pleased to see everything in the bag wrapped and presented so nicely, it was so lovely to see that someone has taken such care in preparing our meal. The women in the store were so lovely when we went to pick up the dinner. This was the best Indian takeaway I've ever had, the flavours in everything we ordered were absolutely delicious and I will defintiely be going back!

Such friendly staff. Very obliging staff. Great for young children as well as treated with respect & cups & plates specially for them. The food was excellent & not expensive. The service great. I did love getting water immediately on arrival too. The children wanted milk & the staff got it immediately after asking if warmed or cold. I recommend all the naan bread choices & the rice & mint sauce ; raita & we shared tikka masala ; butter chicken; Rogan Josh & raita & a few different rices. It was outside but nice weather outside & not expensive The wine list was Also good. Very friendly service too. Totally enjoyed the whole night One of the children has allergies & this was understood & catered for

All curries more tangy. Order taking guy is rude too. Other properties not owned by you. They all have different reasons. Focus on your business. You don't have spirit to take criticism as owner. Readers will know after reading your reply. My brain shines brighter than your. We paid for food. Not eat that for free. So we have freedom of express whatever we feel.

When your Indian colleague says this is her absolute favourite restaurant, that says a lot! My partner and I ordered takeaway from your website last night (trying hard to not use Uber Eats and go direct to restaurant), and we couldn’t have been happier. We’re not very adventurous eaters but we both truly enjoyed our meals, which were extremely good value for what we received. They were packaged so well, they couldn’t have leaked no matter what happened! We’ll definitely be trying more things from your menu.
