Not for the weak of heart. The smokiest, the stickiest, the most tender meat I've ever had. We got the platter to sample all the meats and it was just the most divine. The beef cheeks was a highlight, it would just fall apart on your fork and that's when you know you're about to go through a textural rollercoaster.

Maybe because I had high expectation, I found the foods a little bit underwhelming. The entrees we had were good. However, the stars of the restaurant, the slow cooked meats were a little bit disappointed. Although they were all very tender, it lacks of seasoning and flavours. The pastrami was over seasoned on the other hand and lack of the spices which a pastrami should have. I also found the meats and the chips weren’t hot enough. Staffs were extremely friendly and welcoming but it seemed disorganised. We were asked 4 times by 4 different people if we have ordered drinks. Some staffs seem a little inexperienced, kept knocking things over and with unsteady hands when placing and cleaning plates.

The first time I dined in Smokey Moo, I was amazed, happy with the servings and food in general. I went back to celebrate my sister’s birthday yesterday, for her to try the best smoked meats in Brisbane. The quality of the meat is still as good as my first time but I am bit disappointed with the servings as it seems like it was way lesser than I first have had it. The jus was on a saltier side but the flavour was there. The server missed some orders but he was nice about rectifying it. It is still a good experience overall. I would still recommend this place!

If you are looking for a quality steak house in newstead this is your go to place. The owners do a terrific job running this venue. All their meat is from local suppliers, high quality Australian beef. Plenty of beautiful meat cuts to choose from. The customer service is terrific. There is plenty of seating and the venue has a really nice vibe. You can see the chefs cooking which is really cool. Great place for lunch or dinner. Highly recommended to get down and support the local business. The beef ribs are also terrific definitely worth the money.

I mean the food was okay (most probably not to repeat the experience) but I had higher expectations as per the rating. The quality of meat was really disappointing. Definitely overpriced! The service is very good.

My daughter and I had the cheeks and the meat was so soft it nearly melted in your mouth. My sweet potato chips were crunchy and delicious. My Pina Colada mocktail was so yummy. The customer service was amazing. I had emailed before to check if the main meals were gluten free and if the venue was wheelchair accessible for my daughter. They replied advising that they both were. On the night we were looked after very quickly and regularly checked on.

Order via website, had some delivery issue due to 3rd party (13cabs). Received a call from restaurant thought I forgot to pick up my order, after another call to the 13cabs confrim the issue of no driver picking up order. But afterall, got a call back from manager and a apology gift, didn't think of this being the restaurant issue, but still appreciate. Thanks for sorting out issue and making contact. PS. loved the beef cheek!

WOW! Possibly the best smoky meat we've ever had! Came here for an end of year Christmas dinner with some family and friends and the atmosphere was really nice. Music was not overly loud to the point where you can't have conversations with people, like some restaurants. The food was delicious - the sides really complimented the smoky meat! And the service was just over the top! The waitress really knows the menu inside out and she goes out of her way to teach you how to save on your wallet and yet still have an enjoyable meal! The best part was the great sense of humor the serving team had! From the waitress at the table to the bar. It was such a great way to end the year off! Their generosity was extended by giving us some free salads to take home! So grateful! So blessed! I would highly recommend this place for family gatherings, birthday parties, big group gatherings with friends etc.. etc...because they do go over the top in making you feel at home!

Great experience. Great location and really lovely decor. The food is so good. I am vegetarian but this was no problem. The dishes were so delicious. My friend had the pastrami which (despite being vegetarian) I must say looked cooked to perfection. Staff were fantastic and so attentive. Highly recommend visiting.

Delicious food, but the quantity doesn't match the quality. The meat platter for 2 would barely feed a hungry individual, and at $85 the value just doesn't stack up. Last time we visited we had more than enough, but this time we all left feeling a little underdone. Good location, friendly staff, great tasting food, but very small portions for the money.

I took my friend for her birthday to this restaurant and was highly impressed. We went without reservation but could find a table for lunch without waiting times. The food was mouth watering, and so tender, I love it. We had a shared platter for 2 choosing the brisket and pastrami, I preferred the brisket and my friend the pastrami. I gave them 4 in service as I could tell they were short staff, so we needed to be following on things, but the 2 people who attended us were so apologetic and genuinely tried to make us have the best experience. I will be back for sure.

Are you serious ! Best ever, generous serves of four different beef meals that were smoked/slow cooked to perfection. Mouth watering, generous sides and very quick, friendly service. YoYo, Brendan and Caleb are absolutely amazing people that run this place and make sure everyone is happy with not just their delicious meals, however also with life in general. 100/100.

We'd only ever ordered through uber eats previously and it was always amazing so decided to celebrate hubby's 40th Birthday here. What an awesome atmosphere!!! For 30 guests (mostly tradies who love meat) we ordered 2 "Mighty Moo" platters and 1 "Do the Moo" platter this was plenty for the amount of people and we had left overs to take home. The quality of food - especially the meat was next level outstanding!!! The service was fantastic and staff were welcoming, efficient and easily accommodated to our large group. Highly recommended and will definitely be returning

Very good beef some of the most tender corned beef I have ever had. Everything was amazing but the rib was stringy and thanks to inflation it is no longer ribs but just rib. I got the one kilo and it was heaven

I definitely had a good blast at this place. Cannot fault this restaurant from service delivery to food . It was outstanding. My first time to visit this steakhouse as recommended by Weekend Edition on there recommendations for steakhouse in Brisbane. For entree we had the jalopeno and cheese bread, beef empanadas and beef cigars with ranch sauce dip. The empanadas were cooked to perfection smokiness and tender beef. The bread was yummy. For mains, we had the Dirty Dozen platter and Platter for two. Whoa, what a delightful plate of mouthwatering tender, tasty food. Thank you to the staff for a wonderful day out. Definitely highly recommended ✨️✨️✨️

Friendly service and decent selection of food. We tried the "do the moo" set for a big group and it was more than enough food and decent price 🥩 you get all selection of meat and all was cooked well however wished they had more sauce options as they only gave us 1. Beef cheeks and ribs were the highlight, pastrami was way too salty & brisket was quite dr. Overall nothing spectacular but still enjoyable Also their iced tea which was dissapointly diluted

I love this place! Best red smoked meat I’ve tried. Chef- owner worked in many countries, and said that in Australia is best red meat 🥰 their plates always big, and you will take even half to home🤩 Red meat - so very juicy, fresh, hot. Had a wonderful lunch today. I chose the cheek on a rye and oat bun as a lunch special. The meat was so beautiful, smoky and juicy. I wish I could have more. My friend had the pastrami and it was also wonderful.

$85 for a share platter for 2 but unfortunately the bone the meat came with was larger then the meat. Absolutely delishhh but just needs to be portioned better especially for the price. Great service thanks!!!

Visiting from USA and this food was amazing. I recently had amazing BBQ in Dallas, TX and Smokey Moo is on par if not better than the Texans. The meat was all expertly prepared, tender, juicy, and had great smokey taste. The Brisket, Pastrami , and Empanadas were favorites but all dishes were delicious.

I got the "small" plate and it was amazing. Food was delicious and definitely get your money's worth when it comes to portion size. Staff were all really friendly and fun. Lovely to sit out the front and watch the people go by. The cocktails and mocktails were really delicious too. Will be back!

Wonderful, cosy spot in Newstead. Had some of the tastiest, most mouth-watering, melt in your mouth smoked meat. We can highly recommend the dirty dozen which lets you try a bit of each. Amazing brisket, pastrami, short rib and beef cheek. Add in some American root beer, great craft beer, and friendly staff who provide service with a smile, what more could one want? Great night out.

Delicious slow cooked meats yummm. Food was great - well worth the prices, highly recommend the ribs, brisket and potato skin chips. Service was great. Also the meat is halal 👍👍 Only thing I'd recommend is try to get a seat inside as it does get a bit chilly in their outdoor seating (no heaters but they do offer blankets). Staff were super friendly and accommodating. Would definitely go back 😊

I’m definitely a meat lover and it was my pleasure to have late lunch with a friend on easter holiday. The waitress was incredibly friendly and explained everything about the menu. The food was absolutely delicious, it was hard to pick a favourite of the 4 cuts. Smokey Moo has for sure quality products!

We had an amazing time celebrating my husband’s birthday here. The service was excellent and the foods were incredible! We had garlic bread and fried pickle stix for starters. For mains we had their Dirty Dozen that was recommended by the lovely staff where you could try all 4 different cuts. The brisket, pastrami, ribs and cheeks. Brisket has got to be our favourite cut. The smokey flavour, tenderness of the meat just 5 stars. The meal also comes with side serving of hot chips. We highly recommend this place.

Great food, best meat I’ve ever eaten but could've been a bit hotter. Service was pretty slow but the place was packed and it was the first Saturday night out without masks so they were under the pump. Probably needed another person on the bar because the drinks were very slow in coming, but they gave my son a free cocktail for his 21st birthday which we were there celebrating so that was lovely. Yoyo provided funny banter and made the experience even more fun. Apart from the slow service it was very good, so will definitely give them the benefit of the doubt and try again soon.

the best customer service iv’e ever experienced. Served by one of the lovely owners herself would recommend venturing to the city to experience Smokey moo. We came from the Sunshine Coast upon recommendation from a close friend and we were not disappointed. Clean and well presented restaurant, menu and table setting plus complimentary sides and pastrami. The food was perfect, service outstanding. will be coming back next time we holiday in QLD. 10/10 would recommend.

Agreed with some reviewers the staff are friendly. The moo platter a good choice for group who can't decide what to order. However we found the smoky beef lack taste (salt, pepper) and perhaps the sauce is require. The sides that come with the platter are good especially the fries.

GLUTEN FREE! Really delicious food!! Separate fryer, understood cross contamination. Any meats are gluten free, fries, potato skins, jalapeno cheese balls (YUM!). Highly recommend.

Great experience today with the lunch . Ordered dirty dozen and loved it. If I need to criticise anything it would be If only there was an healthy side option on the menu ( like mashed potatoes, steamed vegetables). It wasn’t a big issue though. Highly recommend. One last word for the lady who served us. You were brilliant 👍
