I eat out too much in San Diego, and I can safely say that some places can make good food, and other places make good food that I will remember and CRAVE at later times. The avodaco toast here is one of the things I crave, even if my own avocado toast is bomb. Their coffee is much better than one of the two places across the street as well. Before I stopped eating animal products so much, I found their sriracha crepe absolutely to-die-for. They also serve alcohol for some reason, although I've never wanted to try any during the hours they are open.

A very fine establishment with great coffee and decor. I don’t know why they put this phenomenal Kobe art in the bathroom. I wish it was out and about and showing. Espresso here is top notch, not sure if they have glassware. Only downside is that there is scarce parking around here. Not their fault of course and anyone from SD knows this is common nonetheless. Actually there is paid parking across the street I believe. We parked farther and walked. My gf liked the bread loaf here but I can’t remember what it was called. Next time I’m gonna try the cold brew. Service was friendly and fast and they look like they have some cool merchandise here as well but I didn’t buy anything.bath

It used to be a good place when it was called “Refill”. Now the quality of food and ambiance are terrible. They keep the same menu that “Refill” had, but food is made badly and everything is served in disposable plastic. The place lost its coiziness and good taste. Couldn’t finish that weird crepe at the picture

Delicious breakfast and good coffee. We recommend the salmon toast and the fruit yoghurt. The concept is to order at the desk and take your coffee yourself, breakfast was brought by the waiter.

Kitchen closes half an hour before they do. I had an avocado toast with sprouts that was DELICIOUS. So fresh and yummy. The staff was very nice and the food came out quickly. I’d like to try a crepe next time. Loved the food and can’t wait to go back.

Our visit to HOB Coffee on Park was a letdown, especially considering the positive reviews we had read. Unfortunately, our experience did not align with the previous feedback. It's possible that this place was better in the past, but it now feels a bit run down. To begin with, our order was mixed up, leading to a frustrating wait. Even after the adjustments, the food wasn't enjoyable and lacked flavor. The coffee also fell short of our expectations. Furthermore, the ambiance of the cafe did not match the pictures we had seen. Instead of the inviting atmosphere we anticipated, the place wasn't very well maintained. Overall our visit left us disappointed and unimpressed.

We found HOB Coffee on Park when looking for a new place to have crepes. It appears small from the outside, but there is plenty of patio seating, with indoor seating as well. It is pet friendly for patio dining. When we were there they had a very unique coffee flavored with mushroom powder. Sounds odd and gross, right? It was surprisingly delicious. We had one cold and one hot. Both were equally tasty. The coffee flavor was robust and smooth. The mushroom powder, cream and other flavors blended into the coffee were a surprisingly delicious combination. The crepes were light, large, well-filled and SO GOOD! They were: Scrambled Egg, Bacon, Spinach, Cheddar, and Tomato - another was like the one just named with Brie instead of cheddar. The last one was Pesto, Artichoke, Red Peppers, Feta and Arugula. It is casual dining where you can relax and enjoy a leisurely meal. We will definitely revisit HOB Coffee on Park. I feel confident that no matter what is served, it is sure to please.

Horrible service, tossed the food on the table, didn't get my order right, when asked for it on how I wanted it they over cooked it to the point that it was so hot that it burned the top of my mouth. Espresso machine broken so had drip coffee that was really bad. They also ran out of avocado and didn't even try to give reasonable service. Food burned my mouth and it was horribly presented. Also waited for over 30 minutes for a bacon, egg, and cheese on a croissant sandwich. Not worth returning.

Amazing staff, espresso on point, food is incredible, and the merch is legit must have. I love the patio seating and partial indoor seating. A must visit the next time I come out to Hillcrest.

Cool little spot. Decent amount of indoor/outdoor seating with open views of the street. Coffee is good. Warm welcoming environment. Baristas are fun & lively. Dog friendly as well. My first time here and I’ll definitely be coming back!

I found this spot on google last Monday… coffee was good the new gal was nice but the guy I think might be Hawaiian was rude when their restroom was not working and had a cocky careless attitude. When I asked if he was the owner the girl had said no and I was shocked he was the Manager and misrepresenting the owner. The place is creative and seating was comfortable. We will return but it’s Crucial in these times to have staff with great attitudes especially since we have tons of options in San Diego! Blessings

Always wonderful. Drop coffee, cold brew, and avocado toasts with plentiful outdoor seating make for the best way to start a morning in this neighborhood.

This toast! Stacked so high, every other bite I was wiping Sriracha and avocado off my nose 😄 Thick slice (yes), slather of cream cheese (yessss), avocado+bacon+Sriracha (yes x3!). Super tasty and definitely a full meal (*paired with a hazelnut cold brew of course!)

Consistently too loud music to be able to work or take any calls. Outdoors too hot in the summer, they should probably install misters. This place has a lot of potential, since they serve alcohol, but they close so early so as not to have a happy hour. Honestly, if they made this into a 24-hour study spot with coffee and booze, and maybe chill DJ nights, I'm sure they would do amazing.

I ordered a breakfast sandwich without ham. Once I received the sandwich after about 30 minutes of waiting it was filled with bacon. I understand the mistakes get made so I just asked for it to be remade with no bacon. Waited another 20 minutes and I made the mistake of not checking before I left and of course, once again filled with bacon. Went back to explain this was second time my order was wrong and the cashier (with neon shoes) did not seem to really care. Asked for a refund (wasn’t offered) and do not plan to return.

Horrible coffee place. The wait time for a pick up is ridiculously long. Service with no smile. The morning crew walk around like zombies. they don't look like they want to be there serving customers. Better places to choose elsewhere in Hillcrest.

Service was great. The person helping me was really nice and helpful with answering all of my questions. Food and drink were mediocre and underwhelming. I had the truffle grilled cheese - no butter was used, it was also so small. felt like I was eating one slice of cheese on a cracker. Skinniest sandwich of my life And the iced Vietnamese coffee - way too sweet and thick.

Man this was the best coffee I had in SD. I just get a drip. It wasn’t bitter or acidic. I came in bc a friend recommended it - I’m a bit of a coffee head so I normally take recs lightly. But I was impressed fs. I had to go back to grab a bag of beans to take home as a souvenir

This place has great coffee, ok-to-terrible food. The staff is usually very nice. Unfortunately, for the past several weeks (maybe even two months at this point), they've been out of decaf and are often out of the chagacino (mushroom coffee). It's to the point where someone should just run to the grocery store and get a bag of it. I'm caffeine sensitive, and coffee is a treat for me, so it really sucks to go excited for a little boost, and then time after time, walk away with nothing. I like that they have a rewards program and offer deals to customers on their mailing list, but none of that is useful to me if they're not going to have my order. I'm sad to have to give up on them, but after the crushing disappointment of my last visit, I'm planning to go to places that are more consistent.

Delicious purple ube flavored cookie + good avocado toast (I didn’t actually try coffee since I was over caffeinated from a coffee crawl earlier, but menu looked really good with lots of choices!)

UPDATE: I keep getting the sandwiches! Great coffee and excellent patio! Original review: Tasty Avocado 🥑 Toast! Signature coffee drinks. Full menu of sandwiches and snacks. I enjoy the atmosphere. Lots of wood and washed concrete! 😎

Really delicious crepes and genuinely good coffee. You can tell that locals come here; there is a constant flow of people walking here and getting coffees to go. We ordered the Bananas Foster Crepe (incredible) and a savory crepe. I had the vanilla lavender latte and my husband ordered a pour over. I would absolutely come back. Nice volume music going on in the background and Bob Ross was painting in the tv in the eating area. Great vibe, good food, good coffee.

Hob has a pleasant little space for an afternoon sit & sip. The menu is focused a bit more on creative addons than the quality of their espresso itself, and that's exactly where they excel - they have some truly notable proprietary drinks that are well worth a try. The taro latte is a personal favorite. If you're a third-wave coffee purist, this may not be your place, but if you're a seasonally-flavored latte kind of person, this spot should definitely be on your list.

Great coffee, good food, way too much plastic. If it weren't for so much plastic I would give the place five stars. The service is friendly and competent. The coffee was excellent. The avocado toast was particularly tasty. But why must all of the food be offered in plastic clam shells? How about served on a biodegradable styrofoam plate? And EACH sandwich is brought with a plastic wrapped batch of three utensils. Such a waste. Still I would come back for the coffee. You can do better Hob!

Coffees are always good. Avocado toast is delicious and big. Although I do feel that California over charges on avocado toast 🤷 The online pictures on Google are not what it looks like now; I'm not sure why? The atmosphere is very quiet and calm. Also I think one of the online menus said blended cold brew which they do not have.
