Small group focused personal training set up as a small community is the most inspiring place I’ve been to. Everyday is a different workout focused in different parts of our bodies. We measure our strength every six weeks if you consistently go. I’ve never been stronger than ever. Everyone is so friendly and supportive there.

I have been going to P13 for almost 2 years now, and it’s truly one of my highlights of living in SF. The trainers, community, and workouts are all top notch. Michael and Jared are both very caring and take the time to get to know everyone who walks through the door and keep track of any injuries or areas of difficulty that they are working on. They have a great understanding of proper form and are always happy to provide form checks, answer questions, and provide modifications for exercises. The workouts are well structured and comprehensive and always leave me tired and happy! The community has also been an unexpected blessing of joining P13. All the members are welcoming, kind, and fun to be around. It’s a safe and accepting environment regardless of what phase you are at in your fitness journey, and people genuinely want the best for each other. On days when the class is larger, you’ll work with a partner for barbell movements, and on Saturdays there is team conditioning, both of which are great ways to get to know people. I have ended up making close friends at the gym and know others have too. Working out with the group and chatting with people is always one of the best parts of my day.

The best gym, community and workout you'll find in SF! Being new into San Francisco; joining Project 13 has been the best decision I've made since moving. Nate and Thomas are not only the nicest guys in the business - they also live and breathe what they do and no one does it better. Their passion is contagious both within a group and individual setting - with consistent focus on providing you the best experience possible every time you're in the gym. Their workouts are as equally thoughtful as they are challenging, and applicable for everyone. Don't hesitate!

One of the best gyms I’ve ever been to (and I’ve been to a lot). The coaches are friendly, knowledgeable and always helpful. The people that come here are so nice and friendly as well. The workouts they create are challenging and Thomas/Michael are always there to answer any questions you have. They even go as far as to help you with your personal goals. I’m getting married soon and told Michael about my goals for the big day and we came up with a little plan which he helps hold me accountable for. Overall, it’s a great gym and I highly recommend coming in for a class!

I love project 13. I have been working the founders, Thomas and Nate, for over 3 years and really love the workouts, challenge, and environment they've created. All workouts are different and are the perfect mix of cardio, strength and mobility work. Their goal is to individualize each day to your personal goals and train for longevity

Michael & Jared had been very helpful with my fitness development over six months now. At my first conditioning class, I almost passed out because I was so weak and out of shape. With attentive help from these two gentlemen, I am stronger now and I’m improving my overall body performance. Most importantly, I’m learning how to take things slowly with the training and be patient with my body. No worries if you can’t do a single push up, it’s a judge-free environment where everybody works out here are committed to their own fitness journey. 💪 Insight: It helps when you know the basic forms of workout movements but no worries if you don’t. They will teach you all the details👍

Best gym in Sf. A really thoughtful weight training program for all shapes and levels of fitness. They foster a wonderful community having me look forward to everyday im there. It’s clean, nice equipment, and great natural lighting. I’ve been to several other gyms and other group exercise classes and this was the only one I left ClassPass for and felt good getting a membership at.

Project 13's trainers provide great support for all levels of fitness, from people that are brand new to weight lifting to those with lots of experience. The workouts at Project 13 are always changing and stay interesting.

I've been a member at P13 since 2019 and it's been a pleasure. I came in with little to no experience with strength training/lifting and immediately felt comfortable with the staff and the members. P13 is truly a great gym for people at all stages of their fitness and strength journeys. My brother is a D1 athlete and goes to the same workouts that I do and each of us have modifications that the trainers have specifically designed for our individual needs. If you're looking to gain some variance in your guided strength programming or interested in starting a journey in strength training, P13 is the place for you. Note: P13 is a really safe environment for women as well -- everyone is really supportive and there's a great community of people working towards being their healthiest and strongest selves. There's also a great social aspect where members go on hikes, happy hours, and other adventures together. I've made a lot of life long friends at P13 and will continue to be a member as long as I live in SF.

P13 is more than just a place to go pick up weights. Workouts are done in small groups, and the instructors are always doing their best to help you with any questions you might have. They're also some of the nicest folks you'll ever meet, and the tight-knit community of members they've built is a testament to that. Thanks for everything!

The gym is awesome. The structure of the classes take away any apprehension of working out. You show up and do the workout provided, much like a sports practice.. The coaches are incredible. they make everyone feel welcome. It’s a great place to enhance your social circle as well - they do happy hours every Wednesday and it’s just an amazing community. I always avoided “class” types gym but P13 is great focusing on strength and conditioning. It is NOT CrossFit and I like that.

I've been to a lot of gyms over the past 30 years living in San Francisco - from the now-defunct ClubOne in the 90s to about a thousand spin classes, TRX clubs, strength gyms, YMCA, open water swim clubs, Bay Club, etc. A great gym has a great community that inspires you to work out regularly under the guidance of committed fitness professionals. Project 13 does that better than anybody. I started there before covid, took the long break, and am happy to be back. The coaches/owners Michael, Thomas and Jared know everyone's name, their goals, any injuries to be accommodated, and understand why their members are there. There is zero attitude among existing members and everyone welcomes new people. The workout is challenging and varied with alternating upper and lower days and conditioning days, including the incredibly fun Team Conditioning session on Saturday mornings that is as fun a ziplining through the jungle in Costa Rica (if you like team cardio mixed with kettle bells, wall balls, squats, loud music and camaraderie). The street appeal on Bush between Van Ness and Polk does not reveal the clean and inviting gym you find upstairs, so no one should judge this place on a drive-by. Like many people, I could workout at home, but usually don't. There is some synergy that happens at Project 13 that creates many loyal and committed members, and it is all run from the top down by folks who care about anyone that comes to their gym.

Joining P13 has been an incredible investment in myself. I came in not knowing much about fitness or how to use a lot of equipment. However, Michael and Jared do an incredible job making you feel comfortable, teaching you all you need to know and encouraging you along the way. The community is unmatched and I would highly recommend.

Project13 has been a great community to join since our move to SF. We have so much fun at the gym! Michael and Jared are great coaches and are able to help you tailor the workouts to your skills and needs.

Michael and Jared are one of the few people that can kick me out of bed to go work out early in the morning! They are knowledgeable, positive, encouraging, a real source of motivation to push our boundaries. In a few month I have achieved more than I though could. Also I love the care they give to their community, it is inspiring!

Project 13 is wonderful. I just started in January. The coaches are awesome and super helpful. It is a class but feels more like personal training as the coaches will pay attention to each member individually and provide modifications as needed. Fun, friendly members, amazing coaches, great start to the day! 🤩

Thomas, Michael & Jared are all very knowledgeable, helpful and approachable, which makes for an environment and community that is constructive for all members. The gym is well equipped for a range of movements and exercises to meet all members’ goals.

Excellent place for strength training classes! Jared is super friendly and patient with demonstrating the workout moves and checking that I have the right form. I’m a beginner and felt I got a good workout while not feeling overwhelmed.

Great workout, instructor and community of people! Highly recommend if you want to do weight training with a group of people. I'm not a gym person so it was great to use equipment I would otherwise be too uncomfortable to use on my own time. Could be cleaner, dusty fans and build up, understandably hard to maintain a large space like that.

Best strength-training workout class in the city! The trainers, Jared and Michael, are super friendly and make time to offer one on one adjustments and coaching, even when it is a full class. Therefore, the class (although tough!) is very tailorable to be beginner friendly, but also great for people that want to lift heavy. I always leave knowing that I’ll be sore the next day, but feeling accomplished as well.

Project 13 is the best gym I’ve ever been to! You’ll feel welcomed by everyone there and will get stronger than you ever thought possible with their coaches. My lifts have gotten so much better versus when I worked out at a big commercial gym. So happy I stumbled upon this place!

😐 My first visit in an American Bouldering Gym and a rather disappointing one. Not sure about the 4.8 Stars. I think the gym invests more time in the wrong places. The showers, restrooms and changing areas are great, there is even Shampoo in the showers. One negative thing is, that you can't usw the l...

😠 Sharing as a PSA for anyone considering joining this Planet Fitness location. While at the gym, the lock on my locker was cut and my belongings were stolen. 👍👍 Love this gym! It’s clean, big locker rooms, lots of space on the workout floor and a pool. The pool is a little shallow but it’s on the second floor, so, can’t complain too much.
