I always love Barry's and this one did not disappoint! It was a solid experience and I really enjoyed the coaching from Brian - he was a solid coach and gave a lot of encouragement. I enjoyed being able to alternate between treadmills and weight training - honestly for me the weights were the hardest part - they let you choose whatever weight you want - so try to go lighter since they really load the reps on you here. The showers and amenities were really awesome too - I got all I needed from the showers and felt really clean at the end of a heartpumping workout!

What a terrible class. I have been going to barrys for years, nearly 4x a week but my first time in the fidi studio. The ac was broken prior to class and I saw the instructor ask the front desk- they tried to help but it was still broken and did not tell the class. As a result it was 85-90 degrees in class, similar to hot yoga but at an unhealthy level for weight lifting and running. The mirrors were all foggy from everyones breathing and condensation and the treadmills were slippery due to lack of any air flow. The class kept going when in the beginning they should have told everyone- if they wanted to stay great, and if not, they could get a credit for a future class. Really bad experience for even a loyal barrys client. Running at over 9mph is unhealthy in 85-90 degrees. After class I gave them feedback but was not met with a refund to make up for it. What they dont understand is that doing class in that heat actually doesn’t give you a great workout even though you’re sweating. You can barely max out or push yourself. This was a case where barrys cared more about making money from the class rather than the quality or well being of it’s clients. I also learned that apparently this happens frequently at this location from others. I will NOT go to fidi again.

I wish I could give this location more than 2 starts but sadly the attitude I encountered today September 20 2023 left me with a bitter taste in my mouth and almost overwrote the good feeling I got from my workout. On this day I took the 7:10 class and this tall white guy was working behind the counter (sadly I didn’t get his name) everything was good until after the class when I came out asking if I could have a smoothie (since I forgot to request one before class) the lovely lady that was working with him was kind to explain to me that they can’t until after they end up checking in the other class which I understood and let it go but this individual had to add his sassy attitude and said “we have told you many times before that the smoothies need to be ordered before the class” and gave me a fake smile. 1. I have never met him before therefore he doesn’t have that report with me to talk to me that way 2. He has never told me that before because we have never met and I don’t live in San Francisco so as a result he is lying. 3. I don’t pay prime prices to get that response from an employee. I have been a Barry’s client for more than 5 years and my journey started in San Francisco. Is so sad to see that the service of this location is decaying like the city. Good work out horrible customer service.

Nice lobby, friendly staff, good shakes/smoothies, high quality equipment and lockers. Studio is cramped and you’re on top of each other, instructor communication poor (even regulars seemed to be confused what to do), programming is subpar, and more focused on maintaining the ‘energy’ than a workout. If you’re looking for party, scene, and to sweat, come to Barry’s. If you’re looking for a higher quality workout, more space, better programming, and also to sweat, go to Orangetheory.

Really enjoy the workout and close to my office. With the cult following, this location looks like it is still going strong despite the tough environment in FiDi with high vacancies.

I know it's trendy but I love this workout so much. High energy, trainers are fantastic motivators and you leave feeling like you got your money's worth. Super fun to do with friends and a great community of people. Snag a smoothie on your way out - you can preorder so it's ready for pickup as your getting out; all are delicious. Highly recommend!

Was a little confused where it was when heading east on Bush, but go past the building that says 333 and go into the courtyard with the pizza spot. In there you will find Barry’s. Was a little intimidating when I first arrived, but the people at the help desk are wonderful and answered all my questions while checking in. I got a quick run down on the amenities and the Red room. It is just a room with free weights, treadmills, and resistance bands. You work out to the music alternating between running on the treadmills and exercising on the floor. All you got to do is listen to the trainer tell you when to do the next exercise and for how long. The class is fun and goes by quick. I’m always drenched in sweat by the end.

Enjoyable workout in downtown San Francisco. Workouts are an alternating mix of running for cardio and strength training. The instructor and staff are quite friendly. Instructions can be a bit hard to follow due to simultaneous running and strength workouts. Locker room is ample with plenty of towels and products. Post workout smoothies are good and coviently ready for pickup at the end of the class.

Omggggg I’ve been waiting to go to Barrys for a while now .. I figured I wanted to be in good enough shape because I’d heard it was intense. I finally went for the first time and which I’d gone sooner! The environment is fantastic. Everyone was super supportive and nice throughout the class. The instructor was great and the class, while extremely challenging went by super fast and was a blast! I tried the skinny PB smoothie after — yummm! Can’t wait to go back!

I have been going to Barry’s intermittently since I was in college. I’ve referred an incredible number of people to Barry’s over the years and even hosted corporate events there. I recently moved to SF and I was so excited to be near a Barry’s again so I bought a package. Unfortunately I’ve been sick a great deal this year, including the bulk of November and December when (of course!) my class package expired. I reached out multiple times to see if I could get the package extended and heard nothing. I finally caught someone who indicated that they could extend the package … with a doctor’s note. I don’t know about you but that seems absolutely crazy. I’m not 12 years old and Barry’s is not my high school principal. People of different minds may have other opinions and to each their own. But I’m on day 6 of having Covid and on week 7? of being sick just this winter. Being told to go the doctor to get a note so my gym won’t cancel my package that I paid hundreds of dollars for is not the response I was hoping for. I will not be returning.

Sub par customer service. Effective but won't help if out of scope, fair but expected better

They said it is a top notch in the gyms business, I can't really recommend nor give them a bad report, my woman works there that's why myself appears there. 😉 at that location.

Jovanni is the best 🥹 Gotta love a Barry’s team that cares about its customers. He is why I come to the FiDi Barry’s (no shade to Castro but lol)… Customer service matters and I will be back!

😐 My first visit in an American Bouldering Gym and a rather disappointing one. Not sure about the 4.8 Stars. I think the gym invests more time in the wrong places. The showers, restrooms and changing areas are great, there is even Shampoo in the showers. One negative thing is, that you can't usw the l...

😠 Sharing as a PSA for anyone considering joining this Planet Fitness location. While at the gym, the lock on my locker was cut and my belongings were stolen. 👍👍 Love this gym! It’s clean, big locker rooms, lots of space on the workout floor and a pool. The pool is a little shallow but it’s on the second floor, so, can’t complain too much.
