The lady is always stressed out about prepping the food and gets impatient and agitated by anyone coming in. How about coming in early enough before opening so you can do that instead of transferring that stress to your customers? I really want to like this place and I've been multiple times, but it's not worth it for the mistreatment. The first time I went, she yelled at my father just for watching her cook and told him to sit down. He wasn't trying to bother her and he wasn't trying to talk to her. My father worked in the restaurant business in the past and he understood the pressure she's feeling. We are just there waiting for the food and we had no issue waiting as long as it's going to take. Yet she assumed since we wanted to look around that we are as annoyed as she is. And don't blame your customers coming in as a distraction. I saw how she treated other people too, it was the same level of disrespect. If my family wants to eat here then I prefer to order it on Ubereats and let the delivery drivers deal with her attitude. I like the concept of the lunch boxes and she puts a lot of care into it but if it's at the expense of being rude to customers, it's not worth it. It's overly charred and salty anyways compared to other places. I know this place isn't new and that's how you're used to doing things, but have some god damn compassion for people and understand you're the one putting pressure on yourself. Most people will wait and not have an issue with it. It's a blessing to have more customers than you can keep up with, and if people are willing to wait then they are willing to wait. You don't need to be so impatient at people trying to support your business.

This is a hidden gem! Korean lady cooking up some authentic korean dishes. This is takeout only with 2 seats inside. Food is delicious and portion is generous.

Finding good food is like falling in love; you get hit when you least expect it. This was my experience at this place. I was super hungry off my flight, and it happened to be walking distance from the Airbnb. I was blown away by the food. All I had was the beef rice bowl but it came with a smorgasbord of other tasty sides. The beef alone was worth writing this review, but the whole ensemble stole my heart. Easily a top 10 meal of my life. If you’re in the area how do you not eat here? If I lived in Toronto or within an hour drive of this place I’d probably go at least twice a month if not once a week. I’m probably gonna go back tomorrow.

Delicious and authentic Korean food!! Great prices for very generous portions. We tried the pork bone soup and the spicy pork belly rice dish and loved both!! You also get to choose your side dishes. The owner is very friendly and she remembers her customers. This is a hidden gem I highly recommend! There is parking in the plaza. :)

I order their beef short ribs all the time, but my recent order had extremely tough beef, and the portion was smaller. I believe they're skimping on the quality and quantity. I have attached photo of the chewy beef.

I came here the other day with my friend and the food is pretty good! The portion is generous and it's quite affordable! I ordered beef ribs on rice and spicy rice cakes, I would say it's authentic Korean food and would definitely come back for more! The owner was really friendly and helpful :)

Cute little Korean spot on the corner of Steeles and Midland Avenue. There are parking spaces available, but weekends can be tricky. The inside is small, with a counter against the windows where 2/3 people might squeeze in. It’s more of a takeout place. We ordered the Special Combo for two ($24.95): a bowl of Gamjatang (pork bone soup), rice, and a serving of Japchae. We also ordered the Special Rice Cakes ($9.95). The soup came out boiling hot and was very meaty. The broth was quite oily, so we didn’t sip it. The Japchae was perfectly cooked, not too salty, and is one of our favorite dishes.

Ordered the lunch box for take out (Galbi and bulgogi). When I got home I realized the orange slices that came with the lunch box were moldy!!!! Everything was very peppery tasting. Galbi had more fat than actual meat.

First, don’t come right at opening or you may not get what you want. The owner is likely still prepping. Second, her tone may come off rude, but she is very friendly and charming once you get her talking. This is basically Korean style home cooking. I mean that in the best way. The portions are generous and you get good value. Everything I’ve tried has been delicious. The banchan is top notch.

It is very rare that a child will carry the tradition of their father as they take over a family business. She and her father we're welcome site for covid and served excellent food, combined with excellent fellowship and banter as they would get the food ready. Sadly her dad passed a couple of years ago but the inherited proprietor of this place has created the most perfect pork bone soup that I have ever tasted. Make the drive and tell her big white Cam sent you. She comes across serious but has a great sense of humour and put a lot of love into her food

A single lady ran the store for us, gave us extra food and even gave great recommendations. I can't recommend her hospitality enough. She is amazing. We ordered the combo for 2, #1 and #3, both of which were really good. The pork bone soup, she stuffed it full, which was very generous. 5/5 would def come back again.

The pork bone soup here was generous but bland. Just tasted like pork soup. Could not taste any other flavours. The beef with rice was not what I expected (it was a slightly spicy thick cut beef stir fry, while I wrongly assumed it would be bulgogi). It was still tasty, but not something I would crave. The side dish options are very good though. You get to pick your own from a large selection.

Delicious food, generous portions! Small place for takeout mostly, but there are a couple stools. Picked up a few short rib meals and they came with dumplings, a little salad, potatoes, lots of rice and noodles. For me was enough for two full meals. Would have loved more meat but it was tasty. Next time I will have to try the bimibap.

I love the Korean lady working there. I always order bean paste soup without spicy and she will always gives a lil extra because I’m a regular customer. The food is comforting and very home-like. The taste is very flavourful and intense. I love all her sweet side dishes. Definitely recommend.

We love Korean Food and have tried many places and this cozy restaurant is our absolute go-to. Please note the flavour here is very strong and intense so if you're into it, it's impossible for you to resist the temptation. Our usual orders include the Rice Bowl Special Short Rib and the Rice Cake. The Rice Cake is a perfect balance of softness and chewiness, enhanced by the spicy sauce and fish cakes. Similarly, the Rice Bowl Special steals the show with its combination of bean rice, authentic Korean short rib, daily-changing homemade side dishes, and the owner's sauces, creating a harmonious and flavourful experience. This restaurant is run by only one lady, who manages everything from taking orders to cooking and cleaning, please be understanding and patient. With unbeatable prices, top-quality meals, and the owner's dedication to great service, this place is truly a hidden treasure. Best tip we can give you is call ahead at least 20 minutes before arriving for a timely, delightful meal. Highly recommended :)

This might be my FAVORITE take out restaurant. The owner is an amazing cook and every time I eat here, I get a slightly different beef bowl that always tastes so good. The food here is so comforting and yummy. Definitely worth checking out.

The side dishes (seaweed, pickled radish and Kimchi) all tasted good. The spicy pork belly was spicy enough and tasted good as well.

I have been going to this restaurant for years and I keep coming back for the fresh Korean food. The spicy items do have a kick but if you love spicy, you will love them. The store is usually run by the owner alone unless its during peak hours so she may seem a little busy but she is a very kind person who cares about her customers. The value of her items is great with plenty of options that will always fill you up on a budget. My go-to recommendations are the Pork Bone Soup and Spicy Pork on rice. If you want a place that has tasty, authentic Korean food then you should give this place a try!

The lady owner makes the best side dishes! I always get side dishes from her and she changes menu daily- potatoes, tonghao, fish cake, kimchi, radish…. Today’s eggplant is sososo tasty! Love it!

I stopped by today and it was a great experience! My friend and I both ordered kalbi bento box. The owner works alone so don't expect a quick "grab'n go" service. Kalbi was tender and well marinated, small amount of rice(which works great for me 'cause that fills me up) and lots of different types of side dishes! Generous portion and great taste. Highly recommend when you're around! I definitely will be back and try something else. Cash or debit only.
