I just want to say right away I'm not rating the physical business itself or the product. My issue is the radio ads have gotten so insanely annoying that I have to turn the radio down every time they come on now. I've been hearing the ads for over 10 years now and haven't really had any issue with them but over the last year they are intolerable. I'm married and buying a diamond is behind me now but I can assure you that if I ever need to buy any diamond related product it won't be at Spence Diamonds solely based on how annoying these commercials are.

I regret that we bought our rings with this money hungry company. Saturday, we spent over $3k on wedding bands, not an immense amount but still hard earned money. I received a call just today about my engagement ring diamond being loose. I said of course I want it fixed and she says it’s $29.99. I asked why there’s a fee, if the diamond is not under a lifetime warranty. It turns out for their lifetime warranty to be valid you must do maintenance once per calendar year. Ok, so for a company that knows this, how is it you have no system in place to contact your ‘valued customers’ to notify them their maintenance is upcoming? Let me default after being told and then I can take the blame. It’s been 6 years I’ve had this ring and it’s the first time I’m hearing about a yearly maintenance and the first time to know we have no lifetime warranty. But it makes sense. Why remind your customers of their yearly maintenance when you can make loads more from them having to repurchase from you when (not if) something goes wrong? Shame on you Spence Diamonds. You have lost a customer and any referrals that would have come from us. It’s too bad we purchased non-refundable items cause I would cancel that order in a heartbeat and take my business elsewhere. It’s not about $30, it’s about satisfying your customers and ensuring a ‘lifetime’ of good experiences when we come to you.

I purchased a ring 5 years ago i was not explained clearly that i had to bring in my ring for inspection. My wifes diamond unfortunately cracked right in half. I asked for help and was told due too no inspection they could not help us unless i bought a new diamond. i believe that diamonds have faults in them and not matter if I had gone to get an inspection or not it would have broken. I wish they would have kept a customer happy today and replaced it. I have 4 brothers who wanted to purchase from here but they will not be anymore.

Do not buy diamonds from SPENCE, they sell diamonds that break and then don’t replace it. My son bought a ring 5 years ago and when my daughter in law bumped it off the counter, the diamond Broke. They went to get a replacement diamond now that they were back in town as they live far up north and they wouldn’t do anything to replace the broken diamond. Do NOT BUY DIAMONDS FROM THEM they aren’t real cause they brake.

I'm absolutely disgusted of how overpriced Spence's rings are. The only reason there is so much hype around them is due to their fantastic marketing. Yeah, their rings are legit, but the ring they tried to sell me for $17k, I got for a fraction of the price. Look in to EC Diamonds and thank me later.

So the whole story begins with me falling in love and wanting to buy a ring.....that’s the only sunny spot of this story. I go into the Scarborough Spence and am met by a wonderful associate who is courteous friendly and knowledgeable. She delightfully shows me around the showroom and directs me to the ring I end up choosing, I’m told two weeks sir your ring will be ready and you’ll love it. I think great, commercials were right, so far so good. Two weeks goes by and I receive a call saying the ring did not pass their final quality inspection. I explain this ruins my proposal plans but I appreciate them wanting to put out a great product and I’ll I happily accept the late ring. Week three I go to pick it up and am told it’s perfect, after I point out several imperfections they concede that it’s not of the quality they described and they’ll be taking it back and redoing it. Week 5 rolls by and I’m told the ring is ready, not the case again. Seems my version of a perfect ring is greatly different than theirs. When I think perfect I think “free of imperfections”, when they say “it’s perfect” they mean “meh, good enough for this sucker”. So I send it back after they again mark what I notice and concede that I am correct; where once there was three matching prongs and a fourth unique one now there is 2prongs that match and anther two that match but still no four matching prong set. Plus the diamond setting was tilted on the ring. Week 8 just arrives and I get the ring, 6 weeks late. Still imperfect but I’ve been delayed long enough I need to propose. I still want to talk to the manager to explain this is hugely unacceptable and that their mistakes cost me time money and peace of mind. The manger is busy for over 45mins while I wait so I get fed up and abruptly storm out. I call back to set up a meeting with the manager and on the day I’m to meet him I’m told he has to cancel but there’s no reschedule. I’m left with a fully paid for non discounted substandard ring. Several chances to fix it, I even offered to pick a different style; one they might actually be able to replicate from the perfect show room models. But the catch is they have to tell me in direct conversation that they can not match their show room quality and need me to pick one that they can. I was told repeatedly that I’ll love the ring and it’s going to be perfect. Well. I gave them an 8 week opportunity to make a ring that matched the showroom model in quality and they could not do it. I’m now technically on week 12 of this ordeal and after proposing and getting a great answer my now fiancé casually mentions to me that the diamond is not centred in the setting and do I think they could fix it. I didn’t say what I wanted to; which was “I really don’t think Spence can fix it”. She doesn’t know that they’ve technically had 4 cracks at it and still managed to produce a ring that makes me unhappy when I see it and regretful that I wasted 7500$ on their side show company that’s built on gimmicks not product quality. So my advice to all who are thinking of buying from Spence, pick a simple ring style or choose a better jeweller. Spence is flare, not result. Assurances not quality. I paid for one of their rings, they said I would love it, I love the style. I spit on the craftsmanship.

I came in looking for earrings and Nicole was really helpful. She helped me find the perfect diamond studded earrings. She was very friendly and was very informative & knowledgable about their products. Her customer service was 10/10! I’ll definitely be coming back to purchase a new wedding band for my husband.

The diamond business at the best of times is sketchy, over priced high margin products marketed and sold by manipulating our emotions. Now add in artisan "diamonds" that have even higher margins and you have a whole new level of deception. These products are only useful for industrial applications. Believe me... if you buy one for a ring it will be worthless as soon as you walk out the door.

We decided to give this place a second chance after a bad experience with Rhanda (she showed up 40 mins after our appt was supposed to start and we then didn’t hear from her for 2 weeks with the info we had asked for). Our second appointment was with Khalid. We explained to him our first experience and he assured us this would be better. NOT AT ALL. I found a ring I fell absolutely in love with and we felt it was the one! Well, unless you’re prepared to purchase on the spot (my partner was not because I was with him) they will not care about your business. My partner made it clear he wanted to place an order and asked Khalid to email him all of the details and what he needed from my partner get the order placed - to this day we have never heard from him. Our appointment was 3 weeks ago. We went elsewhere (Diamond Bros - would HIGHLY recommend. Our experience with them was night and day different from Spence) and found an even better ring, bigger, and at a far better price. All in all, I wouldn’t recommend this establishment to quite literally anyone. They don’t care for your business.

I had a great experience at Spence Diamonds. I was able to make a fully informed decision after being provided with all information, especially without previously knowing anything about diamonds. The ring itself is beautiful and I can't stop staring at the sparkly new diamond! Clover was the consultant that was helping me out and I would definitely see her again for a future purchase. I decided to get my wife a 10 year anniversary gift from Spence. We had bought both our engagement ring, and wedding ring from spence in the past, and I wanted another ring that would match the pair. Anyway, so I go to the store, pick out a nice custom ring, and they tell me they'll call me when the ring is ready. In a rare moment of clarity, I ask what number is on file, since this is supposed to be a surprise. They tell me my wife's number is on the file and I tell them to change it, and under NO circumstances to call that number, since it is a surprise for my wife. They assure me they will make sure that doesn't happen, put my number on the file, and all is well. Well you don't have to be a psychic to guess what happened next. The ring comes in, and they call my wife (don't even try to call me first), and leave a message on her voicemail telling her to pick up her new ring at Spence diamonds. She tells me she got a message she probably shouldn't have from Spence Diamonds. Perfect, surprise ruined. After which I call the store to figure out what happened, obviously somewhat frustrated. The associate that picked up the phone kept saying there were no notes on the file (like somehow I'm responsible for the fact they didn't put a note in my file) and offered to "correct the number they should call going forward". Though my other 2 purchases were great with spence, the customer service this time left... a lot to be desired. Edit: 10 days ago I reached out to the email below provided by their customer service. I provided a phone number and an email address so they could reach out to me as requested. I have not received a response. I followed up again 5 days ago and have still not received a response. It seems like this is another example of "performative customer service" on social media. I promise to update this review with any response I get, if I ever receive one.

?Can you tell the difference between these manufactured diamonds and natural diamonds under a Loupe and if so how can you say there exactly the same And if there exactly the same why are they cheaper to buy? There is a saying you get what you pay for. Can you explain this,thank you. Also how is the resale on these man made Sun diamonds,is it on par or worse? This is important for the consumer to know because he could be paying more in the long run by losing money.

It was my first time entering Spence and was only looking for options & prices of proposal rings, Randa not only offered help, but she went above and beyond, invited us into an office where she presented a full session of diamond selection basics, something none of all other stores did which costs time and effort. She was very professional and friendly, although the price was more than other options, we went back to Randa and closed the deal. Thanks Randa & Spence for this experience.

Although I did not buy a ring from Spence, I wanted to post about Liz (Elizabeth), one of the consultants. I loved her "no pressure" attitude and her genuine personality. She was very knowledgeable and helpful to me even though I was just browsing. When I brought my boyfriend the second time, she was still very "no pressure" and was more than willing to repeat her knowledge for him. She worked with the exact budget we gave and never tried to up-sell or push the budget. The selection at this place was huge and I really like that the designs are all out on free display and I could try whatever I wanted on my own time. I highly recommend Liz if you're interested in a ring!!!

I absolutely love the service at this location of Spence Diamonds. Randa assisted me with getting a gorgeous Ring within my budget and something my Fiance absolutely adores (prototype in picture) I've gotten 2 rings with her (promise ring and a wedding ring+band) and both times I've received exceptional service. Spence is also the only jeweler I been to that has all its staff trained to thr highest level of customer service. They're not pushy, they dont make you feel lesser for wanting to work in your own budget (as most jewelers really just try to up sell you, usually not caring for ur budget at all). And the unrushed service I received is really amazing. When you are making a huge decision with a huge amount of money on the line you really want to be able to take your time with it. Spence Employees and especially Randa really make you feel like they're only there for you.

When I began my search for the perfect ring, I did what most shoppers do. Research. I spent hours upon hours searching the Internet, reading reviews for multiple sources, educating myself on what I was purchasing because I wanted a good deal, but a great ring. I had a list of store me and styles, and began my shopping. I stopped at Spence first because it was nice and close. I spoke to a kind, welcoming, and very knowledgeable salesperson by the name of Miranda at the Scarborough Town Centre location. She introduced herself and asked if I needed assistance, but she also gave me the space I wanted to do my browsing. When I had questions, she had answers. She was clear and concise and didn’t press me to look at rings I wasn’t interested in or that were out of my price range. Once I had selected a few designs, she helped me narrow it down to “the one”. She then took me to her office to explain in more detail the kind of quality they provide. I was shown a short video and explained in detail the main components of diamond quality, which coincided with my own research further assuring me she was not pushing any lies. We spoke about my budget and about areas we could be flexible to achieve the best and brightest diamond possible. Once we narrowed down what I wanted, she began her search for the perfect diamond for the ring. She came back and showed me the diamond she had selected under the magnifying scope and under the proper lighting as well as natural light (such as the lights in your home). We discussed a quote and I was thoroughly pleased, but as any smart consumer, I told her that I must keep searching. She agreed that that was only fair to myself and place the ring and diamond on hold for me so that I could continue my search. I spent the next two weeks shopping at 15 different stores. I went to other major stores, independent dealers and jewellers, custom shops, and of course checked out all of the online stores that are so popular now, and none came close to the quality. Period. Miranda also provided the best customer service that I have received anywhere, ever. But again, at Spence, the quality was the best and also the best price. No one else could come near the quality for the price (and guarantees) provided by Spence. I went back after my search, reviewed the diamond that Miranda saved for me (and of course was able to tell that it was the same one I had originally seen by the unique markings that only that diamond had) and I placed my order. The ring was then made, with the diamond I selected, so that the first person to ever wear it, would be the woman I proposed to. I was told it would take two weeks but it arrived early. They were very careful when informing me that it was ready so as to not tip off my significant other if she was around. When I finally popped the question, and my (now) fiancé said yes, she was blown away with the ring and diamond, and believed I had spent a small fortune on a beautiful and unique engagement ring. I’ll let her believe that, but the secret was that I went to Spence, had the most excellent help from Miranda, and was given the best quality at the best price. My experience at Spence and with Miranda was so pleasant that I can honestly say I WILL be shopping there again as well as recommending it to all of my family and friends. To anyone reading, doing what I did when I began my search, just know that Spence can’t be beat.

The store itself is like no other, as they have an open showcase concept- so you can pick up the rings and everything. Refused to fix my diamond ring after 5 year when it cracked in half. My husband swears he was never told bring it in yearly. They told us nothing they can do go read your contract. Upset.

The ring actually arrived ~1 week (I was told it could take another 3-4 weeks) after the original due date and it is absolutely flawless. Special shout out to Miranda and a big thank you for the team at Spence Diamonds for creating such a wonderful and memorable shopping experience.

Quick and helpful service even during covid it was a great and safe environment.

I can appreciate the hygiene measures put in place through COVID as well as the expansive selection offered by Spence Diamonds. However, when making a purchase worth thousands I’d expect some basic service at the very least- Spence had none. Booked an appointment for 6:30pm, arrived on time and was told the individual helping us was tied up and to start browsing. Totally ok with me. Finally met the associate at 7. She was polite when she introduced herself, that was the extent of our interaction. Nowhere to be seen thereafter, didn’t bother to check in once even when I was done and had found the right ring, I was left just standing around. What’s the point of booking an appointment if there is no service. Eventually just left and purchased elsewhere.

Amazing customer service. I make at least one visit a year to get my ring cleaned and inspected. My wedding set and my husband's band are all from Spence.

Purchased a ring from here late last year and I wore it about 2-3 times. The diamond fell off after a couple wears. Went back and they gave me a repair for free as it was covered under warranty. However, I’m kind of worried if this happens again as I don’t want to pay for repair if it falls out again after 1-2 wears. Tried to speak to manager & store director, they didn’t offer additional warranty or exchange on the ring as it was over 30 days. Frustrating but let’s hope no diamonds fall off.

Came to buy a wedding ring and bracelet for my mom. Everyone working there was so kind and patient with us, especially the staff at the desk. Randa was our diamond consultant, and she was super helpful in assisting what my mom wanted. She took the time to teach us about diamonds, and we could feel that she wanted the best for us rather than just trying to make a sale. Will be coming back for my mom’s necklace and earrings one day.

I didn’t make an appt and was finally ready to let go of my wedding and engagement ring. The moment I walked in, the ladies at the desk were extremely warm and welcoming. Randa was the associate that gave me all the information on what my options were. She was extremely helpful, patient and kind and was really great at suggesting alternative rings for me to try on and other pieces of jewellery to make my exchange/trade up. When I went to check out, the ladies at the desk were very thorough in explaining all trade up costs to me and pickup and return and sizing dates. Thank you so much Randa, as you helped me turn an ending into a few new beginnings. Overall, it was a very positive experience!

Literally best ring experience ever. We went in with no appointment and the ladies at the front desk were so so sweet. We were able to go around the store, look at the prototypes and pick my favourites. We met it’s Randa, who was the kindest person on the planet. Randa is absolutely amazing. I 100% recommend. So much better than other big box stores. Other stores don’t let you look at the rings yourself, but at Spence you can try on all the rings and they will make the rings.

The whole experience left me amazed. I did a bit of browsing at other stores but the service didn't compare, the customer service at Spence really made the experience enjoyable. Being able to go through, touch and pick out items really made deciding much easier.

We accidentally stumbled upon Spence Diamonds today while looking for another store. With its unique and intriguing interior, it was hard to walk away. Once we entered the store, we were greeted by warm smiles and hellos from the staff. We had the joy of being helped by Miranda. As a young couple, we have had a terrible experience with a jeweller in the past who didn't take us seriously because of our age. However, Miranda made us feel really comfortable and treated us with respect off the bat. She took her time helping us out and we didn't feel rushed especially after she learned that we weren't looking for any engagement rings any time soon. She is clearly gifted in her work as she was able to present rings that were exactly what I was looking for just by asking me questions about my preferences. On top of that, she took the time to understand our expectations and provided us with information that educated us on diamonds. Although we didn't purchase a ring today, my partner and I will definitely be going back to this location for any kind of jewellery in the future. If you decide to visit this location, I recommend you look for Miranda!!

Spence is by far the best jewelry place, my wife and I visted many many places before going to Spence. We figured we could find a better deal with a little place and went from mall to mall and to mom and pop shops. After so much confusing info and flat out lies we decided to try Spence. We always figured it would be too high end for our budget so we went in with alot of hesitation. We were greeted and givin the run down. We found a few rings that would work for us, but then came the best part. They take you aside and explain the whole process too you, allowing you to choose size and color. Amazing experience, so helpful and willing to take the time to really make it a personal buy. I'm sure you've heard the commerical, there's just no place like Spence diamonds.

I recently designed an engagement ring with Spence and one I first received the ring I had to send it back because it had unfinished gold and it was unpolished and the overall look was unfinished and sloppy. When I received it the second time I was still unhappy with the overall quality. It looks as though it was just welded together and left with no smooth surface. the claws holding the halo are misshapen and poorly made. For the pricey cost I was hoping for a higher quality. I wouldn't trust Spence with fixing their errors or creating a quality ring. Take your business somewhere else. If I could give 0 stars, I would.

Worst place to buy jewelry Bought my fiancé an engagement ring not an expensive one but what I could afford at the time Said it had lifetime trade up options blah blah blah Just called to trade up since it’s a cluster does not apply so when asked what they would be willing to give me for it they said nothing . they wouldn’t take it that’s their policy. Expensive paper weight Nothing was said when I bought the ring about it My fault I guess I’ll have to Take the loss but will never spend another penny at any of their locations

First time at this place. Construction work was going on inside the shop which was a bit disturbing but other than that it's a good place to shop for wedding and engagement rings.

Over promised, under delivered... knew my situation about me bringing my own family stone, verbally said one free ring resize.. Now spending thousands on just the band, they went back on their word claiming that they don’t offer it if you bring your own stone. (I mean how would I know about a free ring resize if you didn’t mention it to the me in the first place). It won’t be an issue in the first place if they never offered at the beginning. This whole process wasted me additional several more unnecessary trips and time to dropping and picking up my ring with no changes made. My mistake as I should of got it in writing but I must say for the pricing of the rings their policy sure is not flexible for their customers at all. Would not recommend. Update: emailed the customer service email as per the issue above… been 4 weeks and 0 response..

8 years later and their customer service is still beyond compare! Sammy and Nicole you two have been wonderful! I Brought my ring in for repair and cleaning, exceptional customer service through and through. Nicole was pleasant, courteous and eager to provide help. Sammy was quick to step in when a small hiccup occurred, he was committed to ensuring that my experience was up to the Spence standard and boy did he deliver! Thank you so much to the team at Scarborough Spence diamonds for working so diligently to protect such a beloved and cherished item. We are beyond grateful for all of your hard work on our behalf! I bought an engagement ring from here as they have a beautiful selection. When I got my ring it was not up to my standards and took much longer to come than usual. After speaking with Parth (store director) he understood my concerns and remedied the situation immediately. I can appreciate a company that puts its customers first and they did that for me today. Thanks Parth and the Spence diamond team.

If you need real diamonds, this is the place to go to. The staff is incredibly caring, the store manager was very helpful. The selection is very wide and the prices are reasonable and competitive.

Educate yourself before going in here. Made a huge mistake last year by buying a ring here. I was sold a lab grown diamond and again my fault for thinking I’ll save money with this option, but I was told the lab brown diamond is the exact same thing as a diamond, it holds the same value and no one will be able to really tell the difference. The only truth was that no one can tell the difference but man it does not hold value nor does it hold the same value as an actual diamond. It was worth 5% of what I spend. My engagement was called off and so I was stuck with a ring. After a whole year of trying to sell it, I learned that Lab grown diamonds are worth nothing and no one will ever take it. Save your time and money folks! Go to local diamond sellers, and don’t even bother getting their lab grown diamonds. Just a rip off! Spence gets diamonds for cheap and sells it 5X the amount it’s actually worth!

All I can say is do not ever buy your ring here. 1) Ring was late for the actual promise date. I checked on it two days before I needed and and one day and was assured it would be in. Even made the appointment. The day it was due, I was called at noon to say it would not be in that day. I was told there was a quality Issue. I actually had to propose without a ring, how embarrassing (2) The ring we received was white 19 kt gold. I was told misleading information about what 19kt was by the sales person. The ring had a gold tint to it in certain light. The explanation we were given did not make sense as we were told the solder used on the small diamond setting the wrong solder was used. But this was not noticed in the quality issue for it being late. (2) had the ring for about 4 months and now one of the small diamonds came out and is lost. Once again my fiancée has to go without her ring. (4) I bought a black tungsten ring and was not told it would take over 6 weeks to receive it. Like I said, DO NOT BUY YOUR RING HERE.

I understand that there are precaution for COVID, but I won't make a thousand dollar purchase if I can't try the ring on.

I am rating this place a 1 star because there is no 0 star option. The ads here are ridiculous and the living definition of an abomination. Whatever the definition for disgusting is in the dictionary, it should be replaced with “Spence Diamonds”. I’m okay with ads generally but the way this one appears so many times and in such a slow, unenthusiastic and dragged-out manner makes it just vile to hear. They won’t stop droning on and on in a bored voice that sounds like they’re as done with life as I am when I hear these god forsaken radio ads. Not only that, but those ads most of the time talk about completely irrelevant things to diamonds such as, “how many cups of coffee did you have today?” Etc etc. It is definitely alright to make ads interesting by making them sound like a real life conversation or quarrel but most of the time the things said were completely off topic and not even remotely funny. All the voices sound the same, like a level 1 AI bot a small child on Scratch could program better. They sound very unexcited of the aspect of sharing their slogans and advertisements to publicity. The ads would go like, “we are so excited to share our diamonds with you.” In the most monotonous and emotionless voice that alike of a text-to-speech function on an illegal messaging app. If I were to never hear a Spence Diamonds ad again, I would spend my entire life in celebration. Simply because of the repetitive and irate ads I’ve been forced to listen to constantly, I would rather pay a million for a diamond than ever buy something here.

Came in with my partner to look for the perfect engagement ring and had two lovely employees help me. Firstly, Nicole, took the time to show us to the wide selection of rings and even gave me some suggestions on what would be suitable for me; loved all the options! Also had Liz who helped educate us and break down all the details of our choice of ring. Overall, I could not be happier with the service provided at this location!
