A very bad experience for my friend who went there. I feels horrible.

Let me start off by mentioning, I frequently shop here for my children’s jewelry, myself and my husband. My wedding ring is actually from here. I went in this week to get something for my husband for Father’s Day. The lady that had dealt with me first was up my behind to get a sale, I had to almost firmly tell her to stop. Regardless she pressured enough and got the sale. Fine. I purchase two items one of which i wanted customized. With the time crunch of Father’s Day approaching I did not expect it to be in by fathers day. The woman told me that it can be engraved and the manager is away and will not be in for the next 6 days. I call TWO days later and guess who answers? The manager who was supposed to do the engraving and he had NO idea on what is going on. Mind you let me also mention that this associate, her words were “if he is in before the 6 days I will text you or call you MYSELF PERSONALLY”. So first thing that happened. Secondly the woman told me the item CAN be engraved when he told me IT CANNOT. it will take 7-10 business days to get made. So not only did she lie to me about letting me know when I can get the engraving and now it will be extremely delayed but ALSO lied to me about it being able to get engraved. The only experience that was positive in this was the manager offering free engraving… all I do know is I have spent a considerable amount of money at this store and they have officially lost a customer and I will not recommend this to my family or friends.

Such a horrible senseless customer service. This is worse purchase I ever had in my life... I am using my most polite way here though its unnecessary when think about the way how the staff behaved. Such a shame to this brand. Why can’t you guys find someone who knows how to behave? Such a shame. Moreover its none of their business to evaluate people based on what they wear.. We don’t have to show off how much is in our bank accounts... Seriously guys most poor service ever..

So, I went to this store to buy a ring. I told the lady my budget , her name was """May""", she started looking for rings that would fit my budget. She couldn't find anything under 1000$. ( To your surprise I got a very beautiful white gold and diamond ring from Peoples the same day for half the price including taxes, so go to Peoples instead, those guys are sweet and helpful and they donot Force you to buy a ring as well) Anyways when May couldnt find a ring for me she started telling me how I can get credit approved from Michael Hill and at no interest I can then buy the ring. I was reluctant to that and kept on telling her let me shop around and I will come back if I would need to but she wouldn't let me go that easy, she then started getting info from me saying we will just check to see how much you can get approved and made sure we wont do anything we are just checking. I had to stand there for another 15 minutes and she kept on asking me all these questions about my job and stuff and told me it will take a minute when it took 15. At the end it showed I am approved for 4000$. I left the store saying I will come back if I need to but I donot want any credit card or anything. If a person's budget for ring is 1000$, that doesnt mean they only have 1000 in their bank account but it means they only wanna spend a 1000 so next time please donot force anyone to get these stupid credit cards or force them to buy a ring thats more than their budget. I left the store and then 3 weeks later, I received this Flexiti Card which I Never Requested for!!!!! I called them and got the card cancelled and was informed there was a Hard Check on my Credit Card info. I am super annoyed at this point. First you apply for the card ^without my consent^ Second a hard check is done on my credit card Third I had to waste my time calling Flexiti to close account and now I have to call Trans union to undo the check on my account. I am never gonna shop in a Michael Hill store ever again. The way their people force you and make you feel poor when ur budget is low. I mean seriously!!! Shameless!!!!!!

Worst customer service ever seen

Very unprofessional service. They should train their sales people to behave better to customers. The. They dont care about the customers once sale is made and also don't pick up the call after we call for after sales services. The salesperson yelled and threatened to hang up when asked for an update on my ring that I gave to resize. Very bad. Don't go to this store.

I am pointing my finger at one particular salesperson who has brought the at most unacceptable service to my understanding. I am utterly disgusted by the behaviour of the woman named Lisa (Filipina) who condescendingly dares to call herself a member of this elegant company. If head office is reading this, God bless you, if you may kindly remove her from the premises. Ain't nobody got time for negativity from this Lisa. At least I know my friends, colleagues, and families would not.

I came here with my fiancé to shop for our wedding bands. Because of Cathy we had a great shopping experience. She was very respectful towards what we wanted and our budget. She made the shopping experience very quick and easy

Have been waiting for my ring to be resized for almost 4 weeks now. Unfortunately the associate who my fiancé dealt with made a mistake on the ring size that he wanted to get so we quickly went in to get my ring resized after he proposed. It’s just been quite frustrating having to follow up every week and always being told that it “should be coming in our next shipment”. Kind of ruins the happy mood of being engaged when I haven’t been able to wear my ring and I keep having to tell people that I’ve had to get my ring resized when they ask to see it.

Cathy/Kathy was super helpful in helping me purchase my first ever diamond for a wedding gift and educating me on what to look for, and explaining different types of stones/sizes/carats

Don't have that much selection

I’ve encountered really bad customer service by this salesperson called Lisa at the STC location. I’m disappointed on how MH can have such a rude salesperson on the floor. She basically made me feel so uncomfortable that I had to make my payments through a different person in the store. This was unacceptable!

Bad quality jewellery! Manager is not friendly and has an attitude. I would not shop there again!

I should give no star, if I could. Staff is not working professionally here at 300 Scarborough location. Never coming back again for this very poor service. I will recommend everyone to visit another location for a good service from staff. I just came for a pick up and waited more then 2.30 hours just to get my ring back. Very displeased from when I came to purchase the ring everyone was running behind. Once the purchase done nobody really care here and keeps you wondering.

I went to the store to look at engagement rings on 2023-03-17. After overhearing one of your clerks describing how badly the guy who was before us smelled, we left. You need to train your clerks not to discuss customers especially when other customers are in the store. I found the behavior very rude and distasteful. I would never go back

Took my mom to look for something. The lady who decided to show us the items was ONLY interested in making a sale. She was a bit arrogant. Apparently, the item we looked at was the only one. We didn't buy anything.

Good service...but old styles..looks like they didn't update a single new style in diamond watches...ended up buying the same thing again coz it was urgent and didn't had chance to go to another store Designs need to be updated

The staff must have changed after manager or owner reading the raving negative reviews on this store!. I was there today and had an amazing positive, and pleasant experience which I need to write about. Mai was my sales agent, and as I walked into the store, though she was busy with a client, looked up and politely informed me that she will be with me soon as she complete assisting her customer. I waited and in about 10 minutes, she came to me apologetically, thanking my patience for waiting. She inquired what I was after, and upon informing her my desire, she took me to that section and gave me many suggestions which I had no clue of. She never forced me to a purchase, instead Mai suggested items contrary to my benefit in making the right decision. At the end, I was able to find great merchandise to my satisfaction monetarily, and sale was done. Very pleased with the store and Mai. I had read the previous reviews and although concerned, decided to investigate. I am glad I did!.

I haven’t seen worst customer service than this store ever. They misinform when u buy their product and then lie that they informed you. They are rip off. Just want you spend on and on on their worst They deserve negative stars. Will never recommend anyone ever.

My friend and I went into Michael Hill in STC not knowing exactly what we wanted, just browsing. We ended up seeing quite a few pieces we loved. Cathy helped us so much. She was so amazing - so friendly, patient, honest and genuinely seemed to care about our best interest. As someone who lives downtown, I will definitely be back to this location. Thanks Cathy!

My partner and I came in browse for non traditional engagement rings. We were approached by a short, older woman with blond hair and glasses, she handed us off to another employee and said that she would be back. We took a quick look at one ring and said we would be back. We checked out another store but decided to go back to Michael Hill. Cathy approached us as soon as we entered and pulled out a few rings I wanted to look at. The blonde women came out of no where saying we were hers and she’s taking over, yanking the jewellery tray from Cathy. The blonde women was extremely unprofessional. Cathy dealt with the confrontation professionally and chose to walk away until my partner made a comment that this was unfair while she was leaving (personally I was prepared to tell the blonde employee we were leaving because of how rude and belittling she was towards Cathy). Cathy decided to remedy the situation by saying they would do the sale together. The blonde woman accused us of lying that she did show us rings (no she did not) and was so extremely visually upset at she couldn’t snag our sale. Eventually she walked away, I’m assuming because she could see I was not entertaining her behaviour. I have been in sales previously for several years and I know it took a lot for Cathy to remain professional during this confrontation, and the blonde woman’s predatory sales behaviour was unacceptable. Cathy was very friendly and pleasant. She made made the whole experience picking out the ring quick and smooth and understood what I was looking for. She also helped me confirm my ring size. She apologized for the experience as it was my first time there. I will return in the future but only because of Cathy. She customer service deserves 5 stars.

Khatuna provided us with excellent customer service. She was professional, kind and patient. She never pressured us and we felt very comfortable with her. She showed us many styles and provided excellent information about the product and warranty. I will be recommending her to my friends and family.

Employees are rude. One silver chain bought for $80, for one broken hook, now charging $70 plus tax for rapair. And very rudely asking why didn’t I buy care plan! Wow! I didn’t thought to buy a $50 care plan for $80 chain and never thought a small repair they would scam clients $70! Mostly disappointed that employees are very rude! Never ever going to buy anything from here again.

If you go 30minutes before closing, they will make up lies and excuses to dismiss you. I went in to get my ring resized and the short woman kept insisting my gold ring cannot be resized. I asked why and she said certain styles cannot be resized and mine falls into category; which is odd because I purchased the wedding band knowing 100% that it could be resized. And I was right. A bunch of nonsense. So I went to the original store where I purchased just now, I had absolutely no problem whatsoever. The short woman also told me to not disclose that I went to STC Michael Hill asking for a resize. Save your time here, all they care about is closing the store on time and getting commission from sales. She should get fired, very unprofessional, she even fought with the other worker who knew it could be resized at that very moment.

I went for an enquiry for a purchase and I highly recommend Mrs. Khatuna, who is an amazing sales person, for all your purchases. She knows about the product and doesn’t push you for sales. I wish my first purchase at Michael Hill was through her too.

I was pretty amazed by the store when I walked in. If you are looking for luxury jewelry and professional service, look no further. Had a great experience for my recent purchase. Sales associate named May was excellent and exercised the balance of great product knowledge with a keen sense of knowing our taste. She was very helpful and insightful. 100% recommended! I brought my diamond earings in because one of the backs was broken. Almost lost the earring because of this flaw.They were bought 6 months previously. I was expecting to have it replaced for free but was told I would have to pay for this backing even though the earings cost a thousand dollars. Very poor product and customer service.

came here to get my bracelet fixed and Mae was very nice and accomodating even offered to clean the rest of my jewelry. Will definitely come back another day to shop :)

My husband got me a necklace from here few years ago. The chain broke so brought back to fix. When I was called to pick it up a diamond was missing so they took it back again. Few months later broke again so I went back and paid to have it fixed again. When it was returned made sure all diamonds were in tact...something was off but couldn't figure out what. Looking at pictures when I got the chain the one I was given is wayyyy longer then original my husband gave me and now too late to bring back and prove. Looks weird at this length. Conclusion I'd they don't actually fix your jewley tbey give you other ones they have in stock hence the missing diamond and wrong length. Never going again disappointed I don't have my husband's original gift to me..sentiment is gone

This location deserves minus 10, I do not recommend. All sales are final, and it doesn't really matter what your receipt says either. I am leaving an unsatisfied customer and will not be returning. Do not shop here or proceed with caution.

Friendly service

Not the least bit surprised with all the one star reviews. I genuinely believe they no longer care. I stood there for 5 minutes, even close to a woman talking to a patron, obviously not intruding. All the sales women were with patrons, not ONE said hello. Not a single one, especially the one 5 feet away from me even going from one show case to another with the customer at hand. No, thank you for waiting we will help soon or anything. I was left stunned. I walked out. Never going back. And like I said they don't care. If you see the store busy stay out of it. I have yet to be felt this uncomfortable in any place of business

I have been to couple of Michael Hill stores, but this one in Scarborough is definitely the best one. Why? Because their customer service was simply wonderful. Particularly, the lovely lady named Khatuna was incredibly nice and helpful. Despite being busy with the other customers, she greeted me very kindly and made me feel so welcome. Usually, I dislike how most workers in jewelry stores look down on you without as much a smile. But not this lady. She was exceptional and I recommend everyone to visit this location. Thank you to Khatuna one more time and I hope the manger continues to hire such professionals.

Worst. Never buy from here. I bought ring in August which gave 3 times for resize and everytime it takes 15 days for resize. Today on 2nd october i picked up still not my size. Like its annoying. Its been almost 2 months but i never wore the ring for a single day.

I bought my wife's ring here about 3 years ago never had an issue with service. I still to this day have my wifes ring cleaned here twice a year and they are very professional my opinion cheers!
