Got takeout here last weekend and sad to say I’m disappointed given all the great reviews. The Crispy Coated Catfish Po’ Boy had only three small pieces of meat which we could barely taste given how little of it there was. The bun did not appear to have been toasted like the menu states. Save yourself the trouble and eat somewhere else.

Coming from the west end, I haven't really experienced much Cajun food cuisine in the area. We stumbled upon this after a visit to the bluffs. We were absolutely delighted with both the food and service. Our server/host was an amazingly kind and polite woman. She would chat with us every now and then and helped us decide on what would suit us best. Overall a wonderful experience. As for the food, we were surprised with how much quality food could come out of such a small location. Another instance of not judging a spot by its outside look. We ordered the mac & cheese, cornbread, blackened salmon, cracker catfish, jambalaya linguine and jerk chicken po'boy. All were absolutely amazing and left us both full and satisfied. Not to mention their home hot sauce is a perfect blend of spice and sweet that I had to order some to take home. I would recommend this to anyone in the area for both a wonderful meal and some great service.

To be honest, this restaurant looks like a little dinner. It definitely needs some renovations, but I'm thankful I still gave it a chance. The hostess was very kind and helpful. Service was wonderful. Let's talk about the food it was absolutely delicious. This is definitely a hidden gem. From the salad to the dessert, everything was absolutely flavourful. I will definitely be going back and have recommended this Jem to my family and friends. We had the braised Lamb Shank and the Chicken Calypso Linguine. I also had the hurricane (drink).

I've been meaning to try this restaurant for some time now and finally got that chance to, and when I tell you, I was blown out of the water. The food, the service, and the atmosphere were out of this world. Our waitress was a lovely lady, so curteous and kindness was pouring out of her. I've never in my life ordered appetizers, sides etc from restaurants cuz I come for the main dishes and not willing to spend my money like that. At this restaurant, I ordered an appetizer side, 2 mains, and dessert, and it all came to a reasonable price of $75. The place is small and cozy, but that's just the thing that makes it worthwhile. I'll be back to try everything in the menu!!!

It's a very unassuming little shop from the outside but once you go in, you step into a world of southern hospitality. The food is absolutely delightful: very well seasoned and at an excellent price. I'd definitely recommend the jambalaya (served over their bayou sauce!) as I can honestly say it's the best jambalaya I've ever had. To top it all off, the seating's a bit limited but the server is just so gracious, warm, and friendly. Go give them a try!

We stopped on on our way to the marina. WOW! The food is delicious, the servings sizes abundant and the chef a pleasure. Do not overlook this little spot or you will be missing a gem. The calamari is impossibly fresh and perfectly cooked. Add a tapas jambalaya. We each had a po-boy, a shrimp and a jersey chicken. Both excellent. The ginger mayo should be bottled and sold everywhere.

I’ve order form here many time in the past, have not in a while decided to get brisket dinner as well as some blacken chicken and a side of corn bread. Spent about $60. The corn bread had definite MOLD on top it was green as you can see in the pictures! I ordered to to give to my toddler and when I felt it it seemed to not be very fresh, thank god I investigated more closely. 🤢 When I called the manager he was very dismissive and was actually chuckling telling me it’s unmixed flour. When I assured him I’m very positive it is not, and that it definitely looked like mold his response was “well what do you want” no apology or I will check the rest of them or a refund. He offered me a credit. As if I want more food when I’m feeling quite unsettled. I’ve worked in restaurants I understand things happen but the way it was handle was enough for me to say probably won’t ever return unfortunately.

Excellent service. Beautiful presentation. The cooks and owner are here making sure everyone's experience is with a personal touch. We ordered the Jambalaya with Andouille, chicken and ham also the tippsy shrimp which was pasta. Nice home made touch to every dish. These dishes are from Cajun Creole. And a Tamil owned restaurant owner named Sugi that should be supported by our community. You can do takeout order from Skip, and Uber. You won't need to add hot sauce but if you want it's a home made hit sauce. Everything is made in house.

Wow! Wouldn't have expected this little restaurant in a plaza would be so awesome. I got the blackened chicken with mashed potatoes and collard greens. It was cooked beautifully. The chicken was moist, full of flavour and had a lovely crust. The cornbread and calamari were also delicious. Our server was so kind and friendly. We will definitely be back. I have to try a Po boy!!

This place was amazing. I don't know what has happened but the food quality is not what it used to be. I ordered the seafood Linguine I, in anticipation of that great seafood Linguine that I have had many times went to Sun valley and picked up a large block of Parmesan cheese, garlic toast and a bottle of wine. I am set so I thought. So disappointed. The dish in the past had a cream sauce that was to die for. Now it has a tomato sauce that gives the flavor of a musty mold flavor. I was so surprised. What has happened to my favorite dish that they made. I looked at the reviews and could not see one response from the owner be it a good review or bad review. I guess the new owner just doesn't care. Oh,well I am left with a block of cheese and a bottle of wine. All is not bad! Cheers!

I cannot wait to sit and eat in person someday. The calamari as mentioned by others tastes great. The Blacked Chicken also tastes great too. The Jerk Wings are authentically done. Was very impressed. I will make sure to take pictures next time when plated. Take out container pictures I feel never give the food justice

Super welcoming and bubbly lady behind the counter. Great vibe inside. Food tasted great, but had to put it at a 4 since the blackened chicken was super dry. Brisket was tender, but portion could be a bit better for the $$$ price.

The food here is really good I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for Cajun style food. We had the Jambalaya, gumbo but the shrimp n grits stole the show!

I was blown away by the impeccable customer service. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, providing me with fantastic recommendations that truly enhanced my dining experience. But the real star of the show was the food. I had heard so much about the Bayou cheeseburger, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. The patty was cooked to perfection, juicy and flavorful without being overdone, and the toppings were absolutely divine. The special sauce brought all the flavors together in perfect harmony, leaving me wanting more with each and every bite. And don't even get me started on the fries - they were crispy, golden perfection with just the right amount of seasoning. I could have eaten them all day! All in all, this restaurant is a must-visit for anyone who loves great food and exceptional service. I can't wait to go back and try everything else on the menu - this place truly is a gem!

Amazing food and service, my final meal while on vacation with my family visiting Toronto. Parking is tight but you'll understand why. NOLA food in the great north what a find!

Very small restaurant. Judith was a pleasure to deal with, very funny and welcoming. The food was amazing. The taste just grabs you. Calamari was a cut above anywhere else we've tried. The Blackened chicken definitely a hit as this was the first time I've tried this along with the mash potatoes, vegetables and dip.

TL;DR: Fast service, friendly staff, and delicious food at a great price! Would highly recommend, especially after a long day at the Bluffs. My friend and I came here after we tried to hike up to the Bluffs (which we didn’t) and driving around to find a good place to eat. Even though it was just after lunch, around 3pm, the place wasn’t too busy so we were able to get a seat right away. The staff was very friendly and the service was amazing, even when it did get busier with online orders and other customers. There was no wait time to be seated and we waited no more than 10 minutes for our food. I got the calamari and my friend got one of the pastas and both were so good! They both had Cajun, which added a little kick and flavouring to the food. From what I tasted, you wouldn’t go wrong with anything from the menu. To end off the meal, we had the bread pudding and that was a great call. We definitely got our moneys worth! I would definitely recommend paying Upper Beaches Bourbon House a visit if you’re in the area! It’s a great small business that has great service and delicious food.

Great food, but the service is amazing. Service with a smile is the least you can expect from Judith! No matter what type of day I’m having, I’m always wanting to be around her positive and welcoming vibes. They are truly lucky to have someone like her working there with them. Judith thank you for being you and making me and my partner’s experience one that makes us alway wanting to come back!

The blackened chicken with garlic mashed and veggies as well as the beef brisket are both delicious. Also the lady who runs the front is an absolute delight! Her customer service is phenomenal and for that reason I will be returning.

One word.. YUM!!!! Seriously, we went here because my boyfriend had a craving for gumbo that they more than satisfied. We asked for recommendations and the lovely lady there suggested, cornbread and Blackened chicken. It did not disappoint! The chicken with their rubbed spices and lemon butter was so flavourful. The cornbread was warm and soft. Honestly, one of the best I've ever had. Oh and their in-house made hot sauce has so many delicious layers of flavour! If you like a little sweet heat, make sure to add some to everything. I even dipped my cornbread in it. Sooooo good. We will definitely be back. Next on the list to try there will be the Jambalaya!

It’s so hard to describe how fantastic the food was here. We ordered the jerk chicken po’boy and creole mac and cheese and both were amazing. No wonder this place has so many glowing reviews!

SO. MUCH. FOOD. The value is incredible. We placed a large order because we figured for the price we were being charged we wouldn’t be getting much. Boy, were we wrong. We have enough leftovers for at least another meal each! The food we ordered was absolutely delicious. I especially liked the Voodoo Shrimp & Grits. Super spicy, cheesy, fresh, and so tasty. I would definitely order from Bourbon House again and would recommend them to anyone!
