For my son's birthday, his one request was to indulge in a hotpot feast, so we headed to Haidilao in Scarborough. It turned out to be an incredible choice, thanks in large part to the fantastic service provided by Viola and Wendy. From the moment we stepped into the restaurant, Viola and Wendy were on top of their game. Their attentiveness and precision in service truly made our evening special. The amazing hand-toss noodle show, skillfully executed by one of the staff members. It added a delightful touch of entertainment to our dining experience. We ordered an array of dishes, and we were pleasantly surprised by the speed at which they arrived at our table. Although there were a few minor hiccups with missing items, Viola efficiently resolved these issues, ensuring our overall experience was smooth and enjoyable. To make the celebration even more memorable, both Viola and Wendy serenaded my son with a heartfelt rendition of "Happy Birthday." They also thoughtfully provided the children with toys at the beginning, keeping them happily occupied. In the end, my son left Haidilao with a beaming smile and his belly full of delicious hotpot delights. As a parent, that's all you could hope for on a special birthday. Haidilao Scarborough not only serves exquisite hotpot cuisine but also delivers an unforgettable experience, thanks to the exceptional service provided by Viola and Wendy.

The best Chinese hotpot spot! The food is so fresh and good portion, cozy and clean environment, and reasonable price among hotpot restaurant. The highlight is their service, servers can accommodate pretty much everything requested. The only hotpot restaurant that I go to now. The robot server is cute too!

Amazing hot pot spot! The service is excellent as staff are very attentive, quick, and friendly. There is a good selection of hot pot food items on the iPad, and you can choose to pay an additional $3.99 per person for unlimited sauce/fruit bar. They also offer aprons and free hair ties while dining, and they have some cute robots delivering the dishes. The washrooms are also very well stocked, with mouthwash, cream, toothpicks, floss and even feminine products at no extra cost! We came for birthdays on multiple occasions and the staff will sing happy birthday to you with a nice birthday sign/props for photos! They even offered us small ice creams at the end for free, and the person celebrating their birthday got to pick out a small gift bag at the front. It also seems they offer manicures and hand massages at the front if you’re interested. Great experience, definitely must try!

Would return, would recommend. Apparently this is actually a well known establishment from China, and I think it shows. Excellent execution on the ordering, table service, amenities such as toilets and extras. Food is super fresh due to the high turnover and sauce station is always filled quickly and kept clean. Cost isn't crazy but not super cheap. Around 40-50pp after taxes/tip.

Wow! Just celebrated my birthday there. Had an amazing dining experience. Probably one of the best experiences I've had in a long time. Never been to a restaurant with better service! Everyone there was so friendly. From when you step foot into the restaurant, during the meal, the free manicure my wife got, and even leaving the restaurant. Our server Arlene was on the ball during the whole time there. The food was so tasty. The sauces were amazing. And just can't stress how amazing the service was. They have vegan soup bases and lots of tasty veggie and meat options. A very vegetarian friendly hotpot place! Will definitely be coming back! Thank you Arlene for making our dining experience an amazing one! Through and through enjoyable! The staff was so alert and attentive to our needs! Even gave my kids these really cool cars to play with. They have free manicure, child care options too!!!! Like wow!!!! Thank you again Haidilao for a great experience. And big shout out to our server Arlene.

Incredible service and delicious food! Consistent with other Haidilao locations. Will be back. All soup bases I’ve tried so far (pork bone, tomato, beef tallow spicy, sukiyaki) are fantastic. All ingredients are high quality. Food is served quickly, water / beverages are constantly refilled. Stations are on the side to make your own dipping sauce. For hotpot, it definitely be on the pricey side given the price points and it is a la carte. Great for special occasions.

First time trying Haidilao and extremely love it. Very cozy atmosphere and awesome customer service here, place very clean and net. Washroom was cream and plenty of toiletries. The food here is outstanding and delicious. Everything was fresh and enjoyable. Meat is higher quality compared to ayce. Pork belly and beef were so tender and juicy. Tomato soup base is A+ here and very very delicious. We loved our stay here and definitely will back here again. Sauce bar is another good thing here. A lot of fresh melon, orange and a lot variety of dipping sauces. For dessert here has some herbal jelly as well. In addition, here has a small playground for the kids to play a bit while you enjoy your meal.

First time going to hot pot and it was a great experience. This place had one of best services out of countless restaurants I've been too, and not to mention the ultra clean washrooms with a lot of amenities. Moreover, there are automated robot servers designed after cats as well! There are also secret codes you can use to get free items! We went on the Thanksgiving weekend so we got free foods such as turkey, ice cream bars and more! Highly recommend this place just for the very very, one of a kind, lively experience!

First time eating here and had a great experience! The soup bases were flavourful and the selection of food to order from was plentiful. The service was quick and the staff very friendly/attentive. The face-changing dance was very entertaining! Would absolutely return!

They absolutely have one of the best customer service I have seen in Toronto!!!!! Staffs are very friendly and knowledgeable. We get a care pack right when we sit down which includes: hair tie, glasses wipe, hand wipe and plastic bag to put mask in. The soup base was very good and delicious. We were able to drink a bowl before we started cooking. The tomato soup base was our family favourite ! Had to pay $3.99 per person to use their seasoning station. All the food was very fresh ! Can’t wait to come back again!!!

Exactly what everyone said: Amazing Customer Service! I haven’t been to a lot of hotpot places however, this place is incredible. The service is top notch. You will feel like royalty. Apart from that, they have a few different options for soup bases, and a lot of dipping sauce choices. Everything we tried on their menu was tasty. Literally not a single complaint. The place is kept very clean and organized and so the premium price of the spot is well deserved. You should definitely come and try at least once.

It's been a couple years since I last had hot pot, and I've been craving it for the past few weeks. I've never been to Haidilao but I've heard it was really good from some friends, and I guess my dad's laptop "heard" me saying hot pot a lot bc he finally got an ad for it, and we took it as a sign to go 😂 We went on a Sunday night, with a reservation at 5:30 so the restaurant was pretty empty but it got super packed a couple hours later. The service was incredible. They provide everything from aprons to wet wipes and even a glasses and phone screen wipe. The servers even come by to help you refill water or remove scum from the soup. The atmosphere is relaxing and you're pretty secluded since each table has booth seating. They play good music as well. Each menu item is à la carte (not AYCE), and you are charged for sauces, but you get unlimited access to the sauce bar, and various fruits or desserts. For a family of four, our bill came out to over $200 before tips so it was kinda pricey but the quality of the ingredients and the service made it worth it. I really liked the sukiyaki broth as well. The only issue was that our pot wasn't really boiling much, so a lot of the time we were just sitting there waiting. Also we found that our clothes didn't smell as much compared to other places. I would definitely come here again. They mainly speak Mandarin and/or English, not really any Cantonese but maybe it depends on the server.

We ordered 4 soup base combination, spicy, tomatoes, mushroom and bone soup. The spicy soup base is one of the best we have ever tried. Wonderful service; they also use a robot-waiter that helps them serving food and kids really love it. Do not forget order noodles: the noodles dance is a must see! The dancer is really good. We celebrate a kid birthday, they make the celebration special, music, present and some party signs we enjoyed.

My husband and I decided to try this place out. It was my first time at hot pot and definitely not my last. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive. They had a great sauce bar where we could mix our own flavours and the seaweed salad was delicious. The food came out quick and they gave you an iPad to order from so you could time your items. We had the sukiyaki beef broth and pork broth and they were both great. The staff also helped us with cooking times which was greatly appreciated. The only issue we had was we were delivered pork dumplings when we ordered the egg and chive. The staff corrected it right away though. They gave us baggies for our masks and little gift bags with chopsticks and trinkets when we left. We even got a discount for dining earlier in the day! It was a great first experience.

Cannot recommend this restaurant enough! Truly amazing service and delicious food! It’s probably been highlighted so many times, but their service really is amazing. Their staff are all very kind, attentive, and knowledgeable on the menu, pairings, and promos. They run a lot of promos and have extras all year-round, like: - $19.99 weekday lunch specials - 31% student discounts - Freebies with secret codes - Activities, refreshments, and services if you have to wait in line for a table HaiDiLao thinks of everything when dining as well, such as providing hair ties, aprons, wet wipes, dish shelves to make more space on the table, etc. They also have many fun services you can ask for to make your visit a little more special (for a fee of course), such as a “noodle dance”, birthday celebrations, and Peking opera performance! I’ve come here for both their weekday lunch specials and regular dinner before, both were amazing! I will say that your dollar goes way further with their lunch special, but the food is really amazing all around. All their soup bases are delicious and flavourful. I know a lot of folks don’t really drink the soup, but I am a soup drinker and it’s delicious! I have no idea how their sauce station makes sauce better than when you try to do it at home—but it’s so good. Their portions per dish are also pretty good! All proteins and veggies are very good quality as well. I’ve already returned numerous times and definitely recommend checking it out!

What a fun and authentic experience at a traditional Chinese hot pot restaurant - from attentive front desk staff, clean restaurant spaces plus servers always willing to help to their smart and easy to use tablet ordering system - the whole experience was A+. Food is so much more than just taste and when it's paired with an experience the restaurant stands out and becomes a topic of conversation. We were clearly in the minority when it came to prevailing ethnicity at the restaurant but we were afforded all the same experiences as the tables around us and we never felt out of place. I hope you get to have the same experience as our dinner party. The food was standard hot pot fare with a few new additions to the menu - it's the soup broths that gives everything a unique flavour. Food comes to your table via their handy robot servers and the human ones are always checking up on the table, replacing used dishes and refilling the soup bases. We got four different soup bases and my favourites were the tomato and spicy broths. Our entire dinner party had a blast taking turns at cooking the meats and vegetables in the soup bases. The unlimited salad, sauces, topping and dessert bar would be the only area that drops down the overall rating as the items lacked attention and were a bit tasteless (in the way of the desserts). Also the unlimited bar can be cleaned and updated more frequently in my view. Our server did ask us about allergies and was quick to point out what worked for us. Gluten free options are available. The menu also indicates the same. Overall a great dinning experience and the next time we plan to get the middle show at the table, so Haidilao expect us to be back.

I'd heard a lot of good things about Haidilao before we went, and it definitely lives up to the hype! We went to the Scarborough (Woodside Square) location and had a great experience from start to finish; the place is immaculate, the food is good quality, and by far the most impressive is the level of service, with many members of staff on hand to ensure that your every need is taken care of. Our main server was very knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. The way the smallest of details were taken care of was amazing! They had aprons for adults and children to ensure that your clothes don't get splattered, kids' dinner ware and cutlery ready for us, along with a higher-end booster seat for our baby. They also gave our kids cute little blind box toys to play with. The little ones had a great time watching all the robot servers, the noodle dance, the birthday performances, and the claw machines. There is also a mini baby play area and nail salon and massage chair at the front. The pricing is probably more expensive than other hot pot places, but it's well worth it for the service you get; we hardly go out to eat hot pot anymore, so when we do, we're willing to pay more to get the good stuff! It also really depends on what you get there--if you're not getting the premium meats and seafood or get your feast on, it isn't too bad. We also didn't want most of the sauces they had at the sauce bar, so we opted out (it is $3.99 per person for access to unlimited sauces). Overall, we spent around $200 (including tax and tip) between 5 adults and 2 children, which I think was super reasonable. I'd recommend making reservations ahead of time (online booking for less than 4 people; call for 4+ people). It was insanely busy for a weekday night, and it was still bumping when we left at almost 9pm. Leave some time to also find parking. Woodside Square has tons of spots, but part of the parking lot by the restaurant entrance is under construction right now, so it could be harder to find a close spot if it's busy.

This is the 2nd time we visit. The first time we visited the branch in Markham. The quality of the food is really good and it’s delicious. It has a great vibe as well and it is kids friendly. We really enjoyed our time. However, we did notice that the service at the Markham branch was better than this one. I would recommend you try it but it can get pricey depending on what and how much you order.

Good food, great service. Soup stocks were delicious and the seafood was fresh. Very attentive serving staff, though most of them did not speak English well. The robot delivering food is also adorable and honks at the servers that are in its way 🤣 Overall enjoyable experience. Bathrooms are clean and stocked with amenities like toothpicks, floss and mouthwash. You will get assaulted with hospitality where ever you go here, even when leaving 🤣(directions to bathrooms, upon exiting get stopped with a basket of toothpicks, wet wipes, candies lol)

This was truly an experience!!! We went for my son's birthday dinner. We relied on the reviews to pick the Hot pot restaurant as we wanted to try it out. From the hostess welcoming us and showing us to our table ( we didn't make reservation and we didn't have to wait.. bonus!) to our server Sabrina, the staff refilling our soups, the gentleman who makes the noodles into a show👏🏾, another staff member rolled a happy birthday banner over our table. We received our aprons, wet serviettes for our hands and different wet serviettes for our eye glasses . Two staff members came and sang happy birthday to my son, gave him a piece of delicious cake, big enough to share with the 4 of us then gave him a gift bag🎁. As if this was not enough, we received complimentary hand massages and manicure, we picked our preferences. We were provided a stand for our phone as we were recording the experience and I witness another waitress bringing a charging cord at another table to a customer... l had the best experience, echoed by my family. The food was excellent, atmosphere, the show at the end... All was done professionally, courteously, with a touch of humor when required. The restaurant location is great, could use more parking spaces but there a more available a few metres away. The bathrooms are equipped with handcream, floss, mouth wash dispensers with cups and more... I can't wait to return with my family and introduce it to my friends and help them discover Haidilao Scarborough. Thank you You guys rock!!!

Let me tell you, I have NEVER been to a place (fine dining included) where they give you the best service from start to finish until now. They offer you an apron, hair tie, mask bag, phone/glasses cleaner and hand wipes before you eat. The service, food and everything in-between is more than perfect where I wish I could give them 100 stars if I could. If you want to have a good time with family and friends, here is the place!!! Servers are courteous and made us feel so welcome and I cannot wait to come back again!

I honestly have never been to a hotpot place with this kind of service. Wow. Very outstanding staff and management. 10/10. I’m very used to going to Asian restaurants which are good but have an almost non-existent service so Haidilao is a breath of fresh air. I will recommend this place to everyone who listens. Special mention to our server Kai who was so patient with us being it our first time here today. Bonus: you can get your nails done here as well

Best hot pot ever, yes it’s a la carte, if you don’t like to pay for premium quality and service… it’s not fair to rate this place any lower than 5-stars. Just don’t complain - the value is worth it. The customer experience is amazing, they got hair ties to glass wipes for you before you start the meal… constantly check in on you and even the women’s washroom was full service with a phone number you can text or call if you need feminine hygiene products. They thought of everything! The shrimp paste is the best thing here :) order one for yourself, there’s no sharing this order - you won’t want to.

August 17 update: They got a massage chair, I tried it it's so relaxing!! The price is $10 for 20 minutes which is not expensive compared with real person. You can also choose $9 for 15 minutes and $6 for 8 minutes. But of course the $10 one has the cheapest per minute price. I hope they have a foot massage machine too! As a labour worker we would really pretty a foot massage machine rather than a body one. Updated with my 3rd time visit picture. I like the thing that they provide a doll to accompany you if you dine in alone. The food and service is always good. Will visit again soon. Good food nice service. Will visit again and again.

Haidilao is THE restaurant you want to experience dine-in. Known for its incredible hospitality, we had a great time here despite the slightly pricier food! The soup bases are delicious and it is so fun to be able to cook and try the same ingredient in four different soups! It was Chinese Valentine’s Day when we went (Qixi), all customers received fresh flowers when arrived! Free manicure/nail polish after the meal too!

  • 4/5 David L. 10 months ago on Google
This place is an experience. The service is very good, and there is always random yert going on - people dancing, singing and playing with noodles are normal occurrences during any haidilao visit. There are also a number of secret codes you can say to servers to get free stuff - be sure to do your research before visiting to take advantage of this. On top of everything the food is quite banger and the ice cream at the end was very blessed. I'm still torn as to whether this place is better than Liuyishou, but for the service and experience it is definitely worth it.

Went here for a birthday dinner and loved it! They had so many options for everyone ranging from small snacks, slices of meat & desserts. They have a great range of condiments in the sauce bar—my go to being sesame sauce & oil with cilantro, green onions and roasted seeds. My favourite items were the $1 beef, the complimentary popsicles (lao bing guer), the fried buns with condensed milk, the quail eggs, the lotus root, and of course the hand pulled noodles that came with a show of its own. It was unreal watching the staff spin it so effortlessly and just toss it in the air. They also have plenty of freebies like hair ties, lotion and buffalo-flavoured snacks. You can also use the popular tiktok hacks but you’re limited to one use per visit. Also the birthday cake they provided was fire 🔥—it was so buttery and unlike anything else I’ve had.

We had visited the Haidilao in Markham before, it was our first time visiting the Scarborough location. We find the food and the services are equally awesome. **Our visit was at the time when Haidilao first released their "Single Combo" back in April. The pricing and items of the combo might be a little different now.** We ordered 2 single combos (one with sliced beef, one with shrimp), and also a side order of sliced lamb. It was such a good deal. The mixed plate has a great variety of different veggies and hot pot sticky items such as corn, quail eggs and taro. It's more than enough for one person, considering the combo also includes the snack/sauce bar where we can get unlimited side dishes, fruits and dessert. As for the service, Haidilao never disappoints. I always appreciate how they trained their staff to pay extra attention to kids and seniors. Especially for seniors who are basically abandoned by the moral values of the younger generation. Yet every time I bring my mom to Haidilao, I'm glad to see her being well taken care of. Once we seated a staff member offered my mom a cushion for her to sit more comfortably. During our meal, they surprised my mom with a gift - a massage stick, which was a very thoughtful gift for a senior. It's always fun to visit Haidilao. Not to mention their famous "secret word mission". We got ourselves some free fried buns. I really love this "Single Combo" idea. It's so affordable, and super easy to order and customize. It'd be a great lunch/brunch option for people who crave for a hotpot but don't have much time available. I hope Haidilao makes it permanent on their menu.

Oh my god. The service, presentation, and high quality experience all happened before we walked in the door. Walked in with a party of four around 8p and had the door opened for us by the staff and were quickly guided to our seats. Immediately was given a hair tie, glasses wipe, hand towelette, and apron to use for our dining experience. Our server, Coco, explained to us the menu and how the restaurant works. We did not realize this was not AYCE but the quality of meats and vegetables were phenomenal! One of our soup bases had jujubes in it and I was pleasantly surprised that they had been pitted before their consumption! Free ice cream is also a part of the service. I really enjoyed this hot pot experience, definitely one of the nicest experiences I’ve ever had and that coming from the States. Great job 10/10

First ever experience with this Haidilao Hot Pot franchise. Totally impressed.....raw food items for the hot pot we're of exceptional quality (good cuts and fresh). Great variety at the sauce/sides table. Very attentive service constantly pouring tea/juices and clearing away dishes. Highlight was not only electronic ordering (via tablet) but having the food brought to your table via robots and a chef coming by your table for a noodle twirling show (which goes into your broth at the completion of the act)......how fun is that!!

We visited this restaurant last week for the first time and we will definitely be coming back. Great service, ambiance, very clean and delicious food. The staff are amazing and they really made sure they provide quality service. My daughter was sleeping and the lady server offered a blanket. They also serve free fresh fruits! Overall, I will recommend for people who loves hot pot and great service!

Loved the service, food, and ambiance of this place. You get a choice of full, half or quarter pot of soup base and then choose any topping you want. The toppings are fresh, come quickly via a delivery robot; which is kinda cool. If you order the lomein noodle, a staff will come and do a noodle show in front of you!! Service is top notch, I've never been attended to at this level, even better than fine dining. Highly recommended for the experience.

Unforgettable 11th Birthday Celebration at Haidilao Scarborough!" I recently celebrated my daughter's 11th birthday at Haidilao Scarborough, and it was truly a memorable experience. The hot pot concept added an interactive and fun element to the celebration, making it an instant hit with the kids and adults alike. The highlight of the evening was the unique mask change performance, which added an extra layer of entertainment to our dining experience. The skill and artistry displayed during the performance were truly impressive, capturing the attention of everyone at the table. The ambiance at Haidilao Scarborough was perfect for a celebration, with a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere. The attentive service staff ensured that our needs were met promptly, making the celebration stress-free and enjoyable. As for the hot pot itself, the variety of fresh ingredients and flavorful broths catered to different tastes, making it a delightful culinary adventure for our group. Overall, Haidilao Scarborough exceeded our expectations, providing not only a delicious dining experience but also a unique and entertaining celebration for my daughter's special day. Highly recommended for anyone looking to add a touch of excitement to their dining experience!
