So... excellent fish and chips! Halibut is by far the best. Not a fan of the cod as it's just too fishy for me. Service is wonderful. Dining room is clean and neat. I recommend the shortbread cookies for dessert. The whole experience is solidly good at High Street. They are better than these local places: Halibut House, My Place, Olde Yorke, St. Andrews. High Street is your best option for Good Friday for sure!

A friend of mine recommended this place so I decided to check it out. Now I'm convinced this is the best fish and chips place in the whole city! The food isn't greasy, the servers -especially Zareeka and Bailey- are super friendly, and the place itself is so cozy! Will definitely be coming back!

I remmember pre covid This place was the best but I don't think they cook the halibut the same way anymore Mines was over cooked I remmmeber my first time it was immaculate But my recent experience wasn't to my standard nor theirs I'm sure 3 stars for the great batter tho!! It's still a must try Maybe the haddock is better this time around

Been going to High Street for more than 10 years now. It is one of the rare places that both food and service and food gets better every time I visit. Get the lunch specials if you happen to swing by on a weekday, they can feed an army!

For $20 dollars you'll get a heaping load of french fries the equivalent quality and taste of Mccains from the supermarket and a single fillet of halibut. The halibut had nice batter and in general tasted good although a tad greasy, in general this was NOT worth $20

Good classic fish and chip shop. Halibut and chips were amazing. Sooo fresh and servers nice and hot. Great wait staff. Lots of parking. A little bit pricey. $82 for two for lunch. 2 fish and chips 2 pops and one salad.

Came here with my colleagues, two of us ordered the cod and one guy ordered the halibut. The fish and chips were good and the service was friendly. We also had some of the shortbread cookies to go, they were decent. I would come here again, probably pass on the cookies.

First time visiting today, I have never visited a restaurant that makes you feel like home like High Street Fish & Chips. Sharon and the staff were so welcoming. Paul and the kitchen staff provided a SUPERB haddock (I understand why they call it the Superb Haddock Fillet now). First time, definitely not my last and I was treated like I was a regular. Thank you High Street Fish & Chips for a wonderful lunch today.

So this is what happened. I went there I wanted have a dine in. There was this old lady who assumed that I was here for take out. Maybe she never saw any brown person coming in for dine In. And she was like in a very intimidating voice "take out is that way,go there". It felt insulting then I just took the food and went to another place to eat. I took a fish and chip. It was good. But even if you're food is good you can't treat your customers like this.

Ambience is good. I ordered the Haddock- great portion and was delicious! My friend ordered the Halibut and he said it was really good as well. Only comment i have is that the bread given for the appetizer could’ve been of better quality (or even toasted).

It's been years since I've been here. Same great food. Light, crispy un-oily batter. Awesome chips, and what can I say but perfect mushy peas. Moved.out of the area, but I need to come.back more often. If you think your local chippy is good, then you haven't been here!

Picked up 2 orders of Halibut & Chips. Fish not cooked proper batter was raw through most of both pieces of fish, even after putting it in the airfryer to try and cook batter. Chips were hard and tasted stale. $60 and best part of the meal was the canned sodas.

Made a special trip to try their fish and chips, and it was somewhat of a let down. The service wasn’t especially friendly, which was somewhat surprising given what I’d read from other patrons. I opted for the haddock which was cooked nicely. I was dissapointed in the fries, which I expected chips! What I got was standard chip truck quality fry. Overall the place was clean and well maintained.

There was a time when High Street had the best fish and chips around. However based on my last few takeouts I would say they now rank as one of the worst. Ordered Halibut 2 fish 1 chips cost almost $50. Food quality: fish was under cooked and tasteless as were the chips. There are better choices out there I would suggest checking them out.

It is consider one of the best fish and chips in the city....and they don't disappoint. Highly recommend this place, and their serving is just perfect. Get the homemade tartar sauce.

Small quite place with fast friendly staff. I got myself the two and a few with a coleslaw and it was more than enough. The halibut is one of the best I've tried and the batter is just right. Even though I was full I would have easily has one more piece if it was put in front of me.

The lady who served was so nice and lovely. Food came out quick and fresh. The pie was hot and crispy with tender steak inside. The mashed potatoes was creamy and smooth. The fish fillet was flaky and fresh. Chips were crispy and creamy inside.

We have been enjoying High Street Fish, Chips and .... for a number of years. The fish is delicious and the chips are fabulous. The portions are huge so we order a half order of chips. The staff are so friendly, they know you by name and your usual order. It's a great friendly neighbourhood restaurant and take out. Best fish and chips in the GTA as far as we are concerned. The large parking lot is a bonus!

OMG this must be the best hidden gem. Get there before it gets too popular. I have been dining here every time I come back home. I have to say that since ownership changed this place is off the hook. The fish and chips is the best I have ever had. Not only is it cooked to perfection the quality of fish is above and beyond what you expect at this price point. All their fish are top quality. The owner used to be a fish monger and knows his fiah. I love this place I wish they would open more locations. This is the place to go.

It was a very pleasant and warm experience having lunch at High Street Fish And Chips, A small home style cooking Restaurant. Simple and clean dining room with great service . I had halibut and fries, my friend had Cod and fries. The fries were done just the way I like it, long crispy sicks of white potatoes served with a large cut of fish and freshly done cold slaw, which I enjoyed very much. This little restaurant is a place I will always recommend to my family and friends to visit.

A small, unassuming fish and chip shop. A little off the beaten path, but food and staff were great. Fish was moist, not iver done, and the batter crisp. Not as busy as other places like old Yorke, and easier parking. Will be back again.

Walking into High Street it really reminded me of another fish and chips place in Etobicoke. It was the exact same layout as McNie’s Fish and Chips and it turns out it’s the same owner! We already knew we were in for a good experience. Lots of parking as it’s in a plaza. Our server was super friendly and so nice. Fish and chips are solid here. Hard to go wrong. Ordered the Haddock and it was great. Will definitely go back.

Love this local gem, so happy to have them as our neighborhood fish and chips spot. Their fish and chips is always spot on, and portion is so good. The people who work there are so friendly. Also love the charm of the restaurant. Highly recommend!!

Used to love this restaurant, but lately it's been frustrating having them close for weeks at a time and the food has gone downhill. Our last order had inedible grey fries, was very unhappy.

This is a staple in the Underhill plaza right in the well to do Broadlands suburb. It's well attended for a reason by many of the retirees in the community. Family owned and operated the fish and chips are done to perfection by cooks who've been with them for years. Clean, safe, friendly, a wee touch of Scotland in the surrounds. It's not cheap nor overly expensive. Lots of parking, make sure you check the hours, take out available. 5 stars

Great food. Great value. I don’t usually like fish and chips, my kids do. But I got us all dinner here and loved it. The black pudding was really great. Best mushy peas I’ve had. And real gravy. Can’t wait to try the haggis.

Loved this place! Friendly service and a pretty affordable meal. 2 servings of haddock and chips with coleslaw and sticky toffee pudding for $43. The Fish was crispy although a tad over cooked. Very small portion of tartar sauce however they give you more if you ask. The sticky toffee pudding was the star by far. Will be back.

We had the haddock with tattie scones along with steak and mushroom pie with gravy and chips. Everything was tasty, although the scones were a tad under seasoned (unless they are supposed to be that way?). The sticky toffee pudding was really good too! Service was lovely too. We will be going again soon!

Great food. Easy access. Good menu. But terrible customer service. I am a regular. We have fish and chips once a week. They gave me this coupon for 10% off, when I wanted to use it, they said it only applies to kids food and not the main meal!! We asked while ordering on the phone and they had confirmed it could be used… anyway the amount negligible, negative impression on the other hand, very much.
