One of my my favourite moments of our entire trip was watching the sun set over the beautiful desert sands at the Pyramids of Meroë. This was quite possibly one of the most astonishing sunrises I’ve seen. Loved it so much that we came back a 2nd time for sunrise the next day.

Nice place, is the most recommended to visit when you come to Sudan. This is the best place taking a picture, great place. You must visit here when go to Sudan. A mountain full of rock. It's amazing, very very beautiful nicely. I'll come here again if I visit to Sudan. You must try go to "sawaqin", "suq ibil", "jabal tutil", "tomb Ali" and anothe place around kassala. This city is small but very nice, the people is very nice, they are welcome and humble to everyone. And I recommend to you, if wanna go there, don't forget bring much water for drink. It's very important. So you can enjoy your journey.

Being here is just unexplainable. You are transported back in time. You walk a trail that leads to various tombs of Kings and Queens set against a breathtaking setting of the desert valley and rolling dunes. Each pyramid is unique in its own way, and shines at sunset/sunrise, the best time to visit. When you are the lone tourist here, you feel like the whole place is yours, and you can just sit there for hours in solitude. There are camel rides if the trail feels too long, and there is a small market out front.

Simply beautiful. The ignored history of these Nubian pyramids is astonishing. You get to have the whole site to yourself. You can also camp next to the pyramids either in the permanent camp or find a cheaper option (bring your own tent or find a local guide).

Pyramids of times of the Meroe Kingdom of the Kushite civilization - a World Heritage Site - a part of a serial site called Meroe Island. The pyramids of a king's cemetery are, maybe, the best historical place in Sudan to see - a visit card of Sudanese Antiquities. Nearby there is a European hotel of a camping style.

Certainly the best archeological site in Sudan in my opinion. Spectacular views of the pyramids in the sandy desert. Some of the pyramids are fairly well preserved.

Pyramids of Meroe or as we call it in traditional language " Pyramids of Al-Bagrawiyah " is one of the most historical and cultural places in Sudan and the best direction to the tourists coming from outside the country to discover the story of Meroe Pharaohs and their pyramids those some of anthropologist said it's older than Giza's pyramids !

(Translated by Google) It is considered one of the largest Sudanese museums located on Nile Street, next to the Friendship Hall building, where its main entrance is heading towards the Blue Nile and just before the two Nile met. Preparation was underway to open this building since the sixties and the museum was opened in 1971 AD and contains all periods of Sudanese civilization from the stone ages to the Islamic period through the Nubian and Christian monuments (Original)

(Translated by Google) I love the National Museum because it is like a time capsule where I travel between different eras to meet civilizations that lived in Sudan and learn about their customs, inventions and way of life. It is a Sudanese historical imprint that smells between the temples of the Pharaohs, the pots of the Kushites, the decorations of the plant and the statues of Meroe.

This place is a must if you have or plan to visit the pyramids, plus there is a well done exhibition upstairs of Sudan's Christian period. It was 10 SDG to get in and I had the place to myself, be sure to walk to the other buildings to the right of the entrance ( as you walk in) to see more ruins that have been relocated to the museum. Outside in the parking lot there are artists selling oil, watercolour, and coffee paintings...pretty cool and always good to support a local artist.

Staff can speak English very well. We were there in January, the weather was okay not too hot even in the sun. The main hall of this museum is airconditioned and other buidlings spread out in the area are not but not a problem at all. I've learned a lot about the root of this country and other African nations. Highly recommended, a lot of interesting information and remaining artifacts.

A good place to learn about Sudan. Visitors are allowed to take photos using smartphone, but limited to the ground floor only. For the first floor, no camera allowed. What interesting about the 1st floor is they displayed some historical items and old manuscripts from sudanese Christian's period.

(Translated by Google) One of the largest museums in Sudan was founded for the first time in the Faculty of Arts in the year 1904 AD and opened in its current headquarters on the Nile Street in 1971 AD visited by a large number of dignitaries from all over the world and contains archaeological holdings from various parts of Sudan extending its history to prehistoric times until the period of Islamic kingdoms, The museum's internal halls include many stone, leather, bronze, iron, wood, and other collectibles in the form of sculptures and vessels, decorations, wall pictures, weapons, and others. As for the museum's courtyard and garden, it is an open museum that includes many temples, burial sites, memorials and statues of various sizes, which had been rescued before the waters of the High Dam flooded the areas of Wadi Halfa and were re-installed around a water basin representing the Nile until it appeared to be in its original location.
