Yeshi Buna serves authentic Ethiopian cuisine and coffee. It's almost a must to end the meal here with a pot of coffee (jebana). The Aunty and Uncle who run Yeshi Buna are very friendly and approachable. Don't hesitate to ask questions if you are unsure about any of the dishes or just want a bit more information about the cuisine/culture in general. The tasting platters are a good way to taste a range of their dishes. The sharing and communal nature of the tasting platter makes the dining experience even more special. Make sure to try the Doro Wott as well. The gravy goes so well with the injera, and Yeshi Buna serves a really good injera.

Had the best experience here! Welcoming family owned place. It was lovely to see regular friends catching up and enjoying amazing food. We ordered the meat / vegetarian platter for 2 and I was blown away. Great balance of flavours, everything cooked perfectly and everything was incredibly fresh. I cannot wait to go back ๐Ÿ™

Such a cozy restaurant, and I highly recommend dining in! The food was priced reasonably and there was so much food between two people with the mixed (vegetable and meat) platter for two. The dish was so flavorful and all of the produce tasted fresh and refreshing. The Ethiopian coffee is also a must try! I look forward to going through their menu!

My partner and I came here and were so impressed with the food and service. The lady who served us was so sweet. Our dish was so perfect; a brilliant combination of flavours. Will absolutely be coming back to try more. Could not recommend this place enough.

Definitely a hidden gem. Had my lunch here on this Thursday arvo. Itโ€™s around 1pm. A typical Queensland sunny arvo in winter. Warm and quiet. There were only a young mom and her three lovely little kids having their lunch. Ordered a Lega Tibs and a pot of Buna coffee. Since the lamb was out, I ordered the beef Lega Tibs. The dish was served with four Injera, the classic national food of Ethiopia. The Injera is very soft, similar to pancake, really tasty in spite of slightly sour of flour fermentation. Itโ€™s absolutely delicious to have it with the tasty beef lega tibs. Just beautiful! Four Injera were obviously not enough for me, so I asked the owner to add two more of it. LOL The Buna coffee was authentic. I finished the whole pot. Love it! By the way, I love their paintings and the Jazz as background music as well. The atmosphere is relaxing and warm, it feels like home. The owner, and probably the chef too, is very friendly, just like my other Ethiopian friends. I reckon I will come back quite often. I'm going to try their lamb next time. Just canโ€™t wait. LOL

Beautiful food at a brilliant price. We got the vegetarian combination for two people and it was more than enough food. It was so tasty, we will be coming back! I also spilled hot chocolate everywhere by accident and they were so sweet about it.

I decided to try this restaurant after hearing positive reviews from a colleague. I shared the banquet for two and must say I was quite impressed overall. It was great to try a different cuisine and the owners were very welcoming. The restaurantโ€™s atmosphere was also great - there was a welcoming ambience. Would definitely recommend.

Genuinely best Ethiopian restaurant in Australia! The food is very fresh and delicious, and the owners are the sweetest people youโ€™ll ever meet! They have great vegan and vegetarian options, as well as plenty of meat dishes- a little bit of everything for everyone! Canโ€™t wait to visit again!

I went with my boyfriend and ordered a Banquette platter for 2, for $50 (3 types of meat stew/curries, salad and the traditional bread) The food came on one plate, the portion wasnโ€™t enough for two people, hardly any salad there. Itโ€™s a nice place, they have instruments which tells me they play live music there, wouldโ€™ve been nice to have that as an atttaction. Unfortunately, we wonโ€™t come back because we went home hungry ๐Ÿ˜„

What a lovely hidden gem. Ordered the meat platter for 2 and it did not disappoint. The food was nicely spiced and well proportioned. The place has a very homey, no frills to it. ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿพ

Went with 3 friends to this cute little place. The hosts are super nice and when we told them we had never tried Ethiopian food before, they recommended options, showed us how to eat it, checked up on us regularly. Mind you, it is rather small so if you have a group more than 4, best to call ahead for a table. Food is extraordinary delicious! So many favours and thank god they took the plate away. Otherwise I would be scrapping food off the food until there is nothing left.

Delicious and authentic Ethiopian food. The most flavourful coffee I've ever tasted! Beautiful decor, and a wicked Ethio-jazz playlist really add to the atmosphere.

I have been attending this restaurant for years now and itโ€™s always been as exquisite as it always is. Great service, not too busy and very very yummy food. Also a great place to be introduced the famous Ethiopian food and coffee.

Food and coffee were delicious. The service is a bit slow, and for everything, we had to get up and find someone from the kitchen. The owner is friendly but probably needs more workers ๐Ÿ™‚

I could not recommend Yeshi Buna enough, this is one of my favourite locals! Fantastic options for vegans and meat eaters, the staff are the loveliest and the food is absolutely delicious! Every Ethio food newbie Iโ€™ve taken here has walked out with plans on coming back ASAP!! Combination platters are a must, thanks Yeshi Buna!!

First time I ever tried Ethiopian cuisine. Honestly amazing food, and a great experience! I loved it. Iโ€™ll be coming back. A nice authentic atmosphere, and the owner has an admirable backstory. Donโ€™t knock Ethiopian/African cuisine until youโ€™ve tried it!

All stars are well deserved! Loved the food, is fresh and full of flavour. I felt like visiting family for dinner. The ambience is cozy and seems to be a place for friends to hang out. The customer service is very friendly and respectful. Something different and worth trying.

I've been to a few Ethiopian restaurants in Melbourne, Footscray and I was keen to try the Ethiopian food scene in Brisbane. Whilst I did like the flavour at Yeshi generally, I felt it came in slightly lower than what I have had previously. It was a pleasant experience. I I would be keen to come back for breakfast another time.

It was such a pleasant experience at the restaurant. We tried the meat and veg combination platter for two to get a taste - as it was our first time trying Ethiopian- Eritrean ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡ท food. Will have to go back to try the other dishes. Loved the Injera. The service with a smile from the cook/ owner/ educator was priceless.

Our first Ethiopian meal in Brisbane, the food excellent. We all had plenty left over and the taste great. Kids had clean plates. The staff lovely and welcoming. Only would say the music kept going off which changed the atmosphere and I was conscious I could hear others but ill definitely go back to try other dishes!

We had a great time. People came in and sat down talking and chatting. We start with an appetizer of crushed lentils, garlic and onions, really full of flavour. We choose the meat and vegetable platter for two. The flavors were pure and full. The spices accenting the flavor of the food not overtalking it. We were taught how to eat Ethiopian style and really enjoyed the whole experience.
