It’s a hit and miss with this place. The menu is unique. Plenty of non-traditional Viet food that you only can find sitting by a street stall in Saigon. Lots of school food and drinks. The food was served super quick. Some dishes are authentic, some just do not hit the mark. But the key issue here is the service. There were only 3/7 tables with customers when i was there but they struggled to serve the right food. The waitress was completely lost, she did know which food for which table, the owner (or the mother?!) kept yelling to tell her the table and reminded her to read the bill (which i doubt she understood how the bill worked as she kept bringing food with uncertainty). Absolutely a chaos. I have no idea how they manage the business in rush hours. Just something I hope the owner is able to improve as their food is quite decent.

A very nice and authentic Vietnamese street food. The signature dish is a beef steak with eggs and pork pate served on sizzling plate with bread roll. They also serve bann mi with various toppings for take away. Vietnamese ice coffee was ok but not fantastic. They do accept credit card payment.

The sizzling wagyu was good! The snail was a bit chewy, and the crab soup was OK. I would go back just for the wagyu steak and may try the dessert next time. Price is a bit high for the settings.

Come to Co Ba Marrickville for Vietnamese street food and snack. We tried Vietnamese sizzling beef steak & intestine stew which were nice. Service was quick as we entered before lunchtime. However, it was pricey. The owner was absent, leaving her mother dealing with the lunch rush. I witnessed customers flooding in, speaking to the mother in English, dropping off the orders to picking up later. The poor lady managed to serve customers on the spot, with some help from Vietnamese diners (and myself). Some other customers left unsatisfied. Rest assured it is about miscommunication. I hope management can read this and ensure that there are sufficient staff at all times (especially busy times)

Got to try out this place over the weekend and mannn it was packed! There were a few groups of people waiting for the table just like us at lunch peak hour. Luckily I didn’t take long for us to get a seat for the two of us. We ordered a tapioca rice noodles soup with crab meat (bánh canh cua) and assorted innards cooked in coconut milk and spices with instant noodles (mì phá lấu). Personally I don’t think it was authentic because of the tastes. Their dishes are on a higher price range for street food dishes (which is understandable for its location in the heart of Marrickville). Service is a bit slow and inefficient. We’ve got our drinks served already and a bit later they came to serve the exact same items again to us and when the staff saw it he was a bit confused. Haven’t tried their other signature dishes so can’t really comment much but 3 stars for what I received that day.

The breakfast of steak and eggs with pate and bread on a sizzling cast iron plate (bò né) are a drawcard here as this isn't really common and it takes a a spin to make your mark against other Vietnamese places in Marrickville. The bread is particularly fluffy which is super important here. There are other notable dishes of the sea snails and clams which are worth getting if you're in for lunch, and if you want something more typical the Bún bò Huế is a solid performer here. They previously also sold a cracker of a roast pork roll but have sadly discontinued it which helps that they aren't splitting their focus between the backend kitchen meals and the banh mi cart that used to be out the front.

One of the best pork rolls of Sydney - packed with all the fresh ingredients you’d expect, with warm bread that’s crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Humbly recommend the crispy pork banh mi The combination sticky rice was good, although the rice was a little soft - a firmer texture would have been even better Would come back here again - especially to try their Bo Ne (sizzling plate) which almost every customer around us had ordered

This is my first time trying Vietnamese sizzling beef steak it was delicious and flavourful! They also give you a crunchy bread roll to soak up all the delicious juices. The presentation was adorable too, it was on a cow-shaped hot plate. I also tried the braised pork rice and that was so tasty, the pork was super tender and fell apart so easily. disclaimer: I was #invited to try this restaurant.

📍Cô Ba, Marrickville Sizzling beef steak with extra cheese and sausage 🥩🔥 9/10 Braised pork with sticky rice 🍚 9/10 Mangosteen iced tea 🥭 9/10 Egg Coffee ☕️ Cô Ba has opened their newest location in Marrickville and serve up delicious Vietnamese food. Starting off with their Sizzling beef steak with extra cheese and sausage where it tasted delicious and didn’t feel too heavy! The sizzling steak was easy to cut and I loved combining everything on the sizzling plate onto the bread that comes with it! 🥩🔥 The Braised pork sticky rice was another favorite and it had the perfect portion size as well as the pork itself was cooked perfectly! 🍚🍚 And as for the drinks is a must try, the Mangosteen iced tea is a refreshing drink and wasn’t too sweet, as for the Egg Coffee it leans more into the sweet side but tasted delicious! Overall couldn’t pick a favorite as everything was delicious! 😍😍😍😍

I’m blown away by their dishes and so keen to try others that I didn’t get to try. But our ultimate favourite was the pho roll, the steak was so tender and all the flavours from the lemon grass to the sauce all worked so well together. Their soda egg milk was so creamy with some fizz, I really enjoyed this. I also didn’t know what to expect here. Keen to head back to the more

This is a must try Vietnamese restaurant in Marrickville! I got the sizzling beef steak and the Bun Cha, which were both delicious. The sizzling beef steak comes out on a hot plate, with eggs, pate and sausage and a warm crispy bread roll to mop up all the sauces 🤤 definitely recommend

A Vietnamese restaurant definitely worth visiting! Their noodle soups are delicious, but the highlight for me a their sizzling beef steak which is served with crusty bread and gooey eggs - such a great dish to share!

Absolutely delightful experience dining at this authentic Vietnamese restaurant that is super close to the train station. The food was flavourful and I was so impressed that they serve delicious snails (a south East Asian delicacy) in Sydney! The sauce was great and loved the pairing Banh mi. Also enjoyed the seafood vermicelli noodles, lovely on a cold night. Prices are reasonable, would recommend for a hearty lunch or dinner! 😊

A very different and unique Vietnamese restaurant. The Mi Quang noodles tasted good. Pricing is on the high side but the restaurant is clean and the service is quick and friendly. We will definitely be back to try other dishes. Highly recommended.

This is the place to get your sizzling beef steak! You can choose different grades of meat. I had the standard grade and it was surprisingly soft and tender. It was not tough at all. The sweet snails with garlic butter corn was another amazing dish! It was very flavourful and the snail wasn’t bad at all! I was worried that I won’t like it but I enjoyed it a lot! I finished every bits of it! There a variety of drinks available too! The Vietnamese iced coffee had a great kick of coffee!

Presentation of dish was top tier, however the food was very bland. It was also very expensive and there were so many things left to be desired. For example, we were charged nearly $50 per dish and guess what. It consisted of a measly 2 eggs, a tiny steak, a small dollop of pate on top and some bread. This was extremely disappointing, and I am beyond astonished as how they actually thought this would be ok. There is just so much protein, and not many other things to balance out the heavily meaty dish. The ONLY nice things I GUESS I can say about this place are: the customer service is alright, the bread is good and the presentation. Oh, and another thing worth noting is that they failed to mention beforehand that they charged an extra 10% during the school holidays. Overall 1/5 experience. I do not recommend at all!!!!

👍 Best restaurant for South Indian dishes. Worth a try of Biryani. Tried Tandoori Soya today and it was the best I ever had here. Egg65 Biryani was so tasty. Crispy Baby corn was bad seemed like it was not fresh. You should not let your standards drop.
