Amazing stay, our first time as Americans in Japan and everyone here was so hospitable. They were very accommodating when half of our party had a late check in, sent a shuttle to get them and made them a home cooked meal after regular hours. They were also very accommodating to the vegetarian in the group. The public and private baths were beautiful.

Relaxing clean onsens in a lovely traditional Japanese bath house amongst stunning mountains and pine forests! Friendly and accommodating staff who go above and beyond to help you out, for example they were happy to give us a free lift into Obuse, stop at a convenience store on the way and lend us snow boots so we could go for a hike. Highly recommend trying the dinner & breakfast at least once , exquisite traditional cuisine using the freshest local ingredients! Would definitely stay here again.

I was worried about making the trip due to covid but I’m so glad I did! Great service, amazing food, and they went over and beyond to enable social distancing and safe stay. Tubs were by reservation only and were private, and food was served in private room. Never had such a luxurious experience! Also nearby town of Obuse is a fun little town to visit. Highly recommended.

What a lovely place to stay at! The service is amazing and so is the staff behaving. We had a fantastic 3 and relaxing days here. The Onsens are really great and even the outside external Onsen offers great services. The food as such is a privilege, even though after a couple of days you might prefer more change.

Really nice hotel with a incredibly nice and helpful staff. Rooms were Japanese style, very nice and tidy. There is three different onsen in the hotel, one which is possible to book for a private bath. We ate dinner two times at the hotel and it was well worth the money with 13 different courses Japanese style. The breakfast is also Japanese style and very sizable. The hotel is a bit off the beaten track but they are super helpful with free transfer to the nearest train station.

Lovely traditional Japanese place. Formal dinner and breakfast in kimono etc. Booked a private Onsen as male and female are allowed only at different times. Very hot but nice view of the stars. As like everywhere else in Japan, the people are incredibly nice.

We were a group of Japanese and Korean visiting Karuizawa though it's more likely to be ski and onsen area. We arrived at the place unexpectedly late but this friendly owner welcomed us really well and we could still enjoy the hot spring after midnight. the rooms were clean, quiet, well prepared and breakfast was also great. You'll definitely need a car to access the place, but it's worth visiting as well as the waterfall called Kaminaridaki(雷滝) they recommended for us.

We were so happy with our stay here! The ryokan staff went above and beyond to take care of us and they were so nice! We enjoyed the onsen, the food was spectacular, and the staff was so generous and kind. Ando picked us up from Suzaka station late after hours, and the owners showered us with delicious local fruit. Make sure to bring host gifts to say thank you in return! They will make you feel so comfortable and welcome. Definitely recommend and would come back!

One of our best stays in Japan. This ryokan is very relaxing and the staff is warm and welcoming. This together with great food and onsens. The food is amazing, were were serve a delicious 10+ course dinner in a dining room overlooking the sunset in the hills and we had a breakfast as rich in the morning. We enjoyed the nature around and hopped on the different onsens, including the public one where also the locals go. Definitely far away from big, mass-oriented structures for tourists, this ryokan gives you the feeling of being hosted by a real japanese family.

We had an incredible weekend as a family of four at Ryokan Warabino. The staff was so warm and anticipated our every need. The traditional Japanese food was spectacular and the view from the dining room was an unobstructed valley of snow covered trees. We also had no problem getting time in the private onsens (first come, first serve). Highly recommended!

The most wonderful stay at this ryokan, with hosts that went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and prepared absolutely delicious food. The onsen private baths are easily accessible, clean and super relaxing. Would recommend 100%

Beautiful traditional Japanese Onsen Ryokan at a great location as it is on a 15-30mins driving distance to a number of attractions at the area. The rooms were beautiful with a view to a garden. The staff were so kind and attentive and truly enhanced our whole experience. Breakfast and dinner were very tasteful and served in a private room with a great view of the surrounding mountains. The view was really stunning! The Ryokan offers a number of private baths and there is also a public onsen next to it. We would definitely be coming back on our next trip to Japan.

An amazing full Ryokan experience and a full 10/10 from me. As a foreigner who hasn't had a previous Ryokan experience, not too sure what to expect. But the rooms were extra spacious and comfortable, the staff were exceptional in their service and friendliness, the dinner and breakfast food was really good and generous, the 3 private onsen are large and on a first come first serve basis worked well without fuss (sign outside to indicate if it's in use or not, and just write the time you'll finish up on the whiteboard) and we had the opportunity to try out all 3 of the onsen, with our absolute favourites being the outdoor ones overlooking the Japanese alps. Gorgeous. The onsen themselves were modern and very beautifully done. There were small touches like snacks in the room, a full tea set with green tea, iced water. There was private toilet and sink in the room too. My only suggestion is to have coffee in the room as an option. If you're looking for a Ryokan experience with family, couples, I can highly recommend Ryokan Warabino.

Fantastic ryokan experience. They have these private onsens and you're free to go in them, customers may only use 50 mins at a time and they have multiple ones. Traditional dinner was fantastic. All staff was very hospitable and polite.
