Faultless hotel! Great location. All of the staff members are incredibly kind and accommodating. The rooms are clean, cosy and comfy - with many amenities even hair tongs! The included breakfast was incredible: deluxe coffee menu, fresh juices, selection of tea and delicious food! One of the best hotel breakfasts I’ve tried in Japan!

Located few min walk from Takayama Old Town, EPH is a boutique hotel that offers a comfy stay and superb breakfast. We drove to Takayama and were glad to have parking couple of doorsteps away. Takayama is a quaint town totally worth stopping at and if you do, you’d be hard pressed fo find a better choice than EPH. However, please note the rooms are not huge (shower is wooden and turns into a sauna!) and can only house 2.

It's a great boutique hotel that's well situated between the station and historic district, and modern / trendy with a dose of the local charm through the green & brown colours and textures. We stayed in the deluxe room and it was a good size on a high floor. Excellent large wooden bath. The cafe below also does a really nice breakfast - best flat white I've had in Japan for a long while

The location of the hotel is amazing, only at two minutes walking distance from the train and bus stations, and five minutes from the old town. The hotel, which can easily be defined as a boutique hotel, is very new and modern, the rooms are very well equipped and very clean. The room is big enough compared to Japanese standards, has a separate toilet and bathroom with a bath tub, and the water pressure of the shower is very high. The bathroom was big and very clean and had a "chalet" feeling. The breakfast was one of the bests we had during our trip, had a very large variety with Japanese (more like a fusion) and mostly Western breakfast elements. It was very enjoyable. The staff were extremely kind, welcoming and helpful. On the negative side, We stayed at room 303, which faced the next building, so there was not much of a view from the windows. But most importantly, we could feel the smell coming from the kitchen eventhough the windows were closed. This was the case in the evening, and was especially prominent before breakfast time with the smell of bacon. One other issue was that the noise from the corridor could easily be heard in the room. This was specifically annoying when someone decided to use the tumble dryer, located just outside the room, at around 2 am. A better window isolation would prevent the smell issue, and the use of the washing machine and the tumble dryer could be limited to before midnight.

Amazing place to stay in Takayama. Very well situated (5 minutes away from old town). Rooms are super clean and cozy, and the bathrooms were lovely.

We loved our stay. Its design, our room was very spacious with lots of natural light, and the wooden bathroom. Its location is a few minutes from the station which was an advantage. The buffet was very estatic, not the conventional, but very good. We would very much want to go and stay there again!

Our stay here was wonderful and comfortable. The staff were super friendly and made us feel welcomed. The location was very close to the bus station and the breakfast was amazing! Definitely recommend staying here. :)

Best breakfast I had in Japan! Traditional and western food, handmade, tasty and beautiful. Delicious caffe mocha! Many amenities in the room. Room very comfortable, fantastic bathtub snd shower. Very clean. Staff very kind. Perfect! Worth each cent! Top 10!

We enjoyed our 2 nights stay at Eph Takayama very much. Everything from check-in to check-out was just great. The room I stayed on the 5th floor is the perfect size for 2 people. It comes in a neat modern Japanese design with a unique wooden bathroom! I love soaking in this bath tub after a long day of exploring this lovely little town. Oh, and the location is the best! 3 mins from Takayama train & bus station and less than 10 mins to old town, many great options of restaurants around the hotel as well. Last, Yui-san at the reception was the loveliest host ever. She is always smiley and helpful. Will recommend this place to everyone coming to Takayama!

Very comfortable, modern hotel with everything you need. Helpful and friendly people! Very handy to the station and lots of restaurants.
