You'd be better off getting mugged in broad daylight than giving this dump your money. How this "hotel" has more than 1 star is beyond me. Given the *absolutely not cheap* prices, you'd think you would at least get a clean room, clean and safe bathroom, probably working A/C (while it's 100°F outside at 11PM) or a room that doesn't smell like an ash tray. Well, you'd be wrong. I stayed here one night (thank God it wasn't longer) with family in 3 rooms on the 7th floor and frankly I think a tent on the beach would have felt nicer. 2 our of the 3 rooms had broken A/C when we arrived, one of the rooms reeked of cigarettes when we asked the front desk for a room change they said they have a "scent catcher" they'll be sending to our room (aka lysol air spray), and refused to change the room. We asked to have the sofa bed made and the front desk lady was rude about that too. This is the first time in my life I felt that I'd be better off showering fully clothed considering how disgusting the shower was, not to mention it was also broken, and posing a danger to cut your hand on the faucet handle. The room itself was dirty, the sheets stained, the tissue box in the bathroom is all rusted and the light is hanging out of the ceiling. The hallways reek of cigarette smoke and are dirtier than the streets outside, and there are electrical panel closets in the hallway that are just wide open for anyone to touch when they should be locked. I'm not even comparing this hotel to a luxury resort (which it is marketed as one), I'd be comparing it to a holiday inn stateside when I say this place is a dump and you'd be better off sleeping in a hostel than giving this place you hard earned $200+ a night. Absolutely ridiculous.

This hotel was overall amazing with beautiful views, decent food, and helpful environment. The only issue I had with this hotel was there was a woman walking around forcing people to give 5 star reviews. This annoyed and many of my fellow guests. Please beware most 5 stars reviews are not legitimate!

I don’t get the 5-star reviews, as I can only give it 1-star …or less. The poor organizational and maintenance practices remind me of my visits to third world countries. Dirty carpet and windows are everywhere, as if the management doesn’t care. Visible wiring and cabling hang from railings. Our bed had one base sheet laying directly on the mattress with no mattress cover, and a quilt with no top sheet. I cannot recommend this hotel at all, especially for the price they’re demanding.

This hotel is the worst hotel I stayed in. The service is almost a joke. I cheecked in. My tv didnt work. I called. Theyll send someone. After waiting half an hour I called again. Half an hour later a guy shows up turns in the tv and tells me dont turn it oof. Of course I did when I went to sleep. Of course in the morning it didnt go on. This time someone came and fixed it good. Then the 1st night we went to dinner. Is was total caos in the dining room. To tell the truth after I got to taste their food I coukdnt understand why everyone was pushing and shoveing to get to the food. 2nd evening they made 2 seatings. So we come down and people in our group saved us places. There was line for people waiting to be seating. We already had seats. But the guy at the door was so full of himself he didnt want to listen. In the end a girl came out and I called her over to explain and she ket us in immediately. The same guy the next night actually attacked an old lady who took a scoop of ice cream from the freezer (which is for free anyway) and grabbed the scopper from her had and grabbed an ice cream cone from the hand of a guest. Unbelievable. The pool is ok. The snack bar uh. The bed was very comfortable and clean. The bathroom is a danger. The bathtub is so tall it is hard to climb in and out. But I have to say that I had the best massage I had ever. Asher is amazing. He is reaaly good. I recommend him highly.

the most awful experience. rooms full of small cocroaches. the hotel was VERY crowdy , we had to wait for more than 20 min just to get breakfast and then when we got there because of the amount of people we couldnt even put food in our plates and decided to eat outside. because of the huge amount of people there was no place to even set down. the hotel is far away from the beach , although it says 5 min walk , its much more than that ( and with the heat its not recommended to walk there ). we even decided to go back home a earlier. ( we stayed only 1 night) never going back.

I never thought I'd say or post these words, given what I experienced in Israel so far, but this Israeli hotel was actually good and the price was justified. It needs a few renovations here and there (for instance the elevators), but rooms were good, food was exceptionally good, location was fine. You have to walk a few meters to the dead sea, but the beach nearby is great (not covered in sharp sand crust like in Neve Zohar). We only stayed one night here though, so maybe, just by coincidence, we didn't experience issues that are more subtle and take longer to notice.

I've had to amend this review from my previous higher rating: the air conditioning in our room kept on shorting out at all hours. We had to call reception 3 times to fix it and I'm not sure it's permanently fixed. There is also a strong smell of cigarettes in the rooms despite being non-smoking. The hotel itself is beautiful and the staff are very helpful and friendly, but the ongoing issues of the air conditioning not working during the Middle East summer were disappointing.

Excellent service , Nice variety of food. Great spa facilities, but a little disappointing because they let people wearing clothes come into the water of spa facilities. 10 minutes walk from the Dead sea Beach. They have shuttle to the beach every 20 minutes.

It needs reparations and upgrade. The room we stayed in had a broken front door, and the refrigerator plus it's furniture were a little damage. However we liked the services like sauna, dead sea pool, jacuzzi, and the location near by the beach.

The room is decent and the porch was very big and had a great view. However the pool was closed for remodeling and they failed to mention it, even though I talked with the hotel 3 times before my reservation. The room was set for 2, while we were 4, and I needed 4 calls to reception to get towels and blankets for the rest. The food was good but the cleaning was terrible.

Rooms dirty at check in, in one bed wasn't made and and old towel was in bathroom. Exposed wires are visible in one room. There is no attempt to manage guest sitting during meals and finding a clean table is virtually impossible. Check in took very long because half of reception staff were all huddled in one stand chatting to a group of guests they knew personally. So I a nutshell, staff doesn't care and management is nowhere to be found.

We stayed here last week and had the most amazing vacation. I highly recommend staying here. The food was literally the best food I’ve ever had. Also the balcony was huge and we had an incredible view of the ocean. The bed was really comfortable as well!

Excellent experience. We got a big room on the 7th floor, the atmosphere was incredible and the panoramic view so beautiful. We had a huge terrace that was crucial for enjoying the evenings.

Excellent location right on beach. Family oriented. Outside facilities look pleasant. It was cold so we were in and out. Friendly staff. Could use a renovation and better selection of dinner items. A little like cafeteria food - just average. Breakfast and lunch were good. Hot tubs were an added bonus.

If your going to the dead sea you must stay here its superior! What a gorgeous place with a pool, spa & buffet also you are so close to the dead sea. Walking distance from the sea. Also you must buy the special mud from the mall near by, it left my skin feeling soft like a dream.

Many problems. ANTS in the room. Dirty sheets with hair on them... Then they sent us new sheets the wrong size.... The cupboard door was broken. Our room wasn't ready at check in time. The room we booked did not match the photo online, the window of our room was frosted. One goes to a sea to see the view. They gave us a cheaper room for a view and didn't want to refund us. Parking lot was full. The food was good and dining service fast. Dessert was disappointing. The pool was closed. The spa area was ok but very crowded.

This was my first time to the Dead Sea and this stay was wonderful! The indoor Dead Sea pool was fantastic as we came in winter - it gave us a chance to float and swim in perfect conditions! The Sulfur pool and spa was also lovely. I highly recommend this hotel!

Leonardo Plaza at the Dead Sea is the perfect hotel for a family trip or a couple's getaway. Excellent food, large pool, daily entertainment, good size spa, all make for a wonderful vacation. Just remember to drink a lot of water as this is a very arid region and one must keep hydrated. All in all, well worth the trip and great value for my hard earned funds.

The bed does not feel like the sheets were freshly made. It had that weeks old slept in feel to it. Pilliow is lumpy and again, feels slept-in. Toilet and bathroom are old.

We have had a wonderful time here at the spa. A very welcome break in the travel agenda. The pools are very clean. A fabulous variety of pool, spas, sauna, activity pool, Dead Sea water pool and sulphur pool (a little extra). People we have met come especially here 3 times a year and I see why! I’ll be back. Thanks to Tawfik for looking after us!

The food, spa and children's club are great. But, we had lots of roaches in our room, and we saw one in the dining room. Not sure if we'll come back.

A warm, welcoming hotel, comfortable rooms and good food. With shuttle providing easy access to the Dead Sea. I would recommend a stay here.

If you want to rest dont go to Leonardo Plaza, they put very loud music since 7AM by the pool zone, imposible to sleep, its going to all the rooms. and don't bother complaining because everyone that work in the hotel wont help you, or they suddenly stop speaking english. The reception very bad also This clerk Hanna was especially rude.

  • 1/5 Edorn 1 year ago on Google
Thr entire pool area smells like an ashtray, people literally smoke under the "no smoking" signs and near the lifeguards and staff. Also the walls are paper thin, you will hear the people in the room next to you via the air condition vent. My family will never return to this hotel.

We had absolutely horrible experience at the Leonardo Plaza Dead Sea hotel, even one star rating is too much. And we were looking forward to our Dead Sea vacation with friends and family so much. First of all we paid to be upgraded to the family suite. Oh, boy it was Very special family suite, lol. Right after the first shower we’ve been flooded all over the bedroom and our stuff on the floor. After complaining the reception workers said that they can’t change room for us, they are fully booked. And they talked to us like we are asking for something special. Finally they agreed to return only 20% of payment and were really unhappy/nasty about it. But it’s not just us. One room had issues with the electric kettle, my friend got almost burned. Cockroaches all over the place, everywhere. Spa and breakfast/dinner are good, to be honest. But plates and cups in the restaurant need to be checked to make sure that they are cleaned properly. Think twice about coming here, look for some other, decent place. I hope that this review will help someone to make right decision

Great buffet, nice pools, good wifi and hotel. Gardens had a lot of cigarettes and trash, which brought a lot of flys all around the pool area. Staff should clean the grass and grounds to reduce the amount of garbage and flys.

What a horrible customer service, had 15 hours flight they told me my check in is at 6pm but I will get the room earlier, ended up waiting till 8:30 pm cause they We’re saying short on staff and they still cleaning the room. The room still was a mess the hot tub at the balcony was dirty, 2 towels were left with 1 rope, no glasses ac at the living room not working they said they sent someone no one ever arrived. Great place to stay at with bad service, not coming back here

Rooms are average. The bad thing is that the toilet and the bathroom are separate! We were two in the room; meaning if one uses the toilet he cannot wash his hands if his partner is in the bathroom. The service was average, we were in a busy time of the year, but they could have done better. Cleaning was bad, even in the lobby or the lobby-bar you can see dust on the machines. Location is not the best, you need to walk 20 minutes to get to the beach, and if you want to go to the nearest mall you need to travel by car. There is parking for the cars, but not enough. The outside pool is okay, the interior pools and spa are small a little. Food on breakfast was average, nothing special, food at dinner was okay. The staff are nice. If you are planning one night in dead sea, then it is okay and acceptable stay.
