Maybe they have better rooms but one we had was a bit old and smelly. Service is overage. But don't miss the spa ( not a common pool, it is ugly) in the spa you have perfect view and nice pools even with dead sea water.

nice rooms! the shower glass did not close well in our room and leaked. food options are very limited in the hotel. front desk service could be far more politeā€¦ make sure you come here with your own private transport. also the pool is TOO crowded. good buffet breakfast

Some time ago, it was the best place to stay at the Dead Sea... after the En Gedi Beach was closed, this hotel missed badly the access to the beach... but still has untoppable advantages as the Spa with Dead Sea's water, botanical garden, sun rise and the spirit of Kibbutz

Donā€™t stay here if youā€™re going to the Dead Sea, otherwise this hotel is great. It was a comfortable stay with great food and in lovely surroundings. Unfortunately the beach close to this hotel is closed due to sinkholes and you have to drive 25 minutes to Ein Bokek to go to the Dead Sea. Also, if you are going to Ein Bokek as a tourist take coins for parking.

One person can kill years of reputation. Just got in the dining room for breakfast, it is 10:10 - The hostess: "Eating is till 10:00, you are 7? Seat there". Where is the smile? The Good Morning? We are only 4, eating, can we take food away to the other 3? She gives 1 plate. "Use this plate" But we need food for 3 people. "Use this and you can cover it" But if they ware to come to this free buffet they could eat 8 plates correct? One bitter and careless person can destroy a nice little vacation in a wonderful place. I took only one ā off the service. This place does not deserve degrading because of one bad employee whose vocabulary does not include: Good Morning, Thank You, Please and a welcoming face.

Great place to stay. Our room was clean and had all you would expect. A short walk to free spa with heated pool with dead sea water. The hotel is located in the botanical garden with amazing trees I never saw anywhere.

Generally good place, ok service. Great breakfast. The manu on the bar is a bit limited for those who doesn't want to eat dinner at the buffet. Facilities are a bit old, especially the shower felt a bit put-dated.

If your addicted to fancy rooms and first class service this isnā€™t the place for you. But if you have an idea of what the Garden of Eden might look like this is as close as I have ever seen. No joke- this is an exceptional botanical garden experience and wildlife experience. The birds sing all day. The Baobob tree stands in the middle of a small field where drum circles are held. At night the fruit bats feed off the flowers from date palms. Ibex stroll down the streets that see an occasional car or golf cart. The cafe feels like a tree house. The pool area overlooks the Dead Sea and mountains of Jordan. The spa (16+) has an outdoor freshwater pool and an indoor Dead Sea pool. I got the deep tissue massage from David and a mud wrap. There is fruit, coffee, tea, small cookies, and citrus seeped water available for everyone at no extra charge. Staying at the hotel gives you 10% off spa services. Foreign passports are not charged VAT so be sure to charge spa services to the room. The rooms were modern ish but very small. A standard room is essentially one part of a group of four single story rooms with a small bathroom, closet, coffee bar, bed, and sliding glass doors to a backyard area. There is a tv but we didnā€™t use it.

Unbelievable consideration for people with disabilities. For example, most Israeli hotels will throw you out of the dining room just a bit after when serving time reached. Ein gedi restaurants will tell you nothing if they see you need more time!

We will never go there again. One needs absolutely a car otherwise one cannot do anything except lying around the pool with noisy music or pay for the crowded spa the service is bad, not helpful and we even had to support the shouting of one employee at reception who was yelling on the phone for 20min without considering us. We definitely do NOT recommend this place the only positive thing was the massage ! Food lovers run away all is industrial

A a really homely and quaint hotel. GREAT SPA and amazing grounds full of desert plants. A stroll thru the Kibbutz is really recommended. The kibbutz is essentially a huge botanical garden where you can see different types of birds (I saw three blue kingfishers) and the peoples' back yards are absolutely amazing.

Staying on a Kibbutz was definitely an experience we wouldn't want to miss. Initially we thought of staying here so we could beat the tour buses at Masada, and while that was the key to enjoying Masada, Ein Gedi was a treat all by itself. This is not a luxury experience, but the rooms are clean and it was so fascinating to learn about the kibbutz concept. What was a total luxury and treat was the food. A buffet unlike any other with the most delicious food. Both the dinner and the breakfast! The kids LOVED the made to order pancakes and the grounds. I enjoyed the gorgeous botanical gardens and landscape as well as the little creatures and birds around.

Venue is amazing food selection. Variety in spa like salt bath, pool, jacuzzi, sauna, Service is amazing Price is still extortionate for a 20 min drive to dead sea. Love music šŸ˜ƒ Found a cockroach playing dead in my lovely villa. No one picked up the telephone in reception. Luckily, a neighbour got rid of it.

I just stayed here one night with my husband and 6 and 8 year old. We were in Israel from the US for only 8 nights. This was our favorite place of the entire trip and we were all devastated to leave. The dinner and breakfast were incredible. The best food we had on the trip and the only vegetables my kids would eat in Israel (they were delicious and roasted). There's an outside patio in the dining hall that was so beautiful too. We got such nice pictures. There wasn't a room for 4 of us so we got two rooms next to each other and went back and neck through the outside patio doors. That was fun. The botanical gardens on site were gorgeous. The trees were so wide and others so climbable. We spent 20 gleeful minutes rocking together in the hammock. The place is just so peaceful. We saw two animals we've never seen before. One is related to the elephant and makes 21 sounds and greeted us outside our room every time we left or came. After dinner we walked along the mountain path and it was so beautiful. We saw 4mountain goats on the way to our room! The pool was so huge and fun for all of us. In the morning we did the waterfall hike(David ). We spent 2 hours there and sadly had to rush at the end bc we needed to drive to the old secret bullet factory (Avalon institute)near tel aviv by 2pm. My 6 year old said it was the best hike she's done in her life(and she has done a lot of hikes). Basically every 5 minutes there's a new waterfall to play in. We didn't have time for the kibbutz tour or botanical garden tour or any of the activities on the kibbutz! We went Wed to Thursday. I recommend you go Thursday through Sunday bc they have a kids activities schedule those days only in the summer. I can't wait to go back. Going to tell Aviv after this was unbearable. This place felt like vacation which we all were excited about 4 amazing days in Jerusalem touring and a day at a beduoin village/hiking Masada.

We enjoyed staying at the hotel; the place is peaceful, quiet and surrounded by beautiful nature. I was looking forward to chilling and relaxing, coming from the hustle and bustle of New York. I couldnā€™t wish for a better place to enjoy the nature of Ein Gedi. I would like to bring attention though to customer service. Spa staff are wonderful. People who work at the bar are pleasant and nice. As are those that work at the restaurant. Receptionists were helpful but not always welcoming and didnā€™t seem to always be in the mood or happy to help. One employee who works at the front desk was cordial during check-in. However, when I asked him a question, his energy changed. He didnā€™t seem to want to be bothered. He looked annoyed each time I approached him. During one week of stay I needed assistance from him 3 or 4 times only in total. My last interaction with him almost completely ruined the week at the hotel. When I came to the lobby he turned away. I made sure to be extra polite and to apologize saying that Iā€™m really sorry to need some assistance again. He immediately rolled his eyes, looked away, and said out loud: ā€œAGAIN, AGAIN and AGAIN!ā€ His comment was so shocking! It was extremely rude, disrespectful, immature and so unprofessional. I canā€™t say that he was overwhelmed with work, as I didnā€™t see him once busy with guests, the lobby was mostly always empty when I was there. In that interaction, I mentioned that we didnā€™t have body soap in our rooms for days, despite previously asking for it. He said that he would take care of it and that I can wait in the room. After 1 hour waiting for the soap in the room I called reception and asked him the estimated wait time. His answer was, 2 minutes. Fifteen minutes later I called, again. It was getting late in the evening and my older parents and I were getting tired and wanted to go to sleep. At that point, feeling frustrated, I confronted him about the wait time as well as his previous rude and disrespectful comment at the lobby. Soā€” he hangs up on me. Itā€™s a shame that such unprofessional and rude behavior of this employee, whoā€™s purpose is to give the best service and make guests feel comfortable, can leave such a bad taste. I hope my story will not be ignored, because my parents and I would love to come back and enjoy this beautiful oasis AGAIN, AGAIN and AGAIN.

The most amazing and caring staff. They helped us with our car when we were in a jam. The dairy restaurant is fantastic. The grounds are magnificent - views of the Dead Sea and minutes from the Ein Gedi Reserve and Masada. The hotel is very well maintained.

What a gorgeous site! A mountain view out our door. Right on the Dead Sea. The hotel is located in a beautiful garden. The food was delicious. The rooms were clean. The pool was nice. The staff was helpful. We had a perfect stay.

Rooms are outdated, cleaning can be improved. On the day of our checkout we took a long trip and there's no option for shower or just a change of clothes of you're with kids (the spa is only above 16). The dinner was mediocre at best

Very nice place clean sheets, very good food, bathroom is clean but the shower floor has seen better days. Most important is the breathtaking view of mountains and dead sea

At check-in we were provided with a list of the weeks functions that includes tours, guides, activities for adults and children. Our double room was well equipped. To be picky though: not enough clothes hangers (some also missing), safe inoperable, some lights and fridge buzz. If you have a balcony room, there is a great view of the valley below. Short walk to the breakfast and dinner facility that I highly recommend for its selection of food. The main pool was out of action (off season). But the spa has an outdoor and indoor pool. The indoor pool water is from the Dead Sea so you can get the floating experience in safety and comfort; another plus it is heated! Walk or drive to the spa in your room gown. After your session (sauna, Turkish steam room, swim, or massage), have a shower and relax poolside with some black tea to cool down.

The rooms photographed do not represent what you get. The hotel was not very busy at all and they wouldn't accomodate a room change.

First of all and as reflected in other reviews: Don't expect a polished 4* / boutique hotel standard here just because you pay the same level as in e.g, the American Colony Hotel in Jerusalem! I did expect a high hotel standard and honestly I was disappointed at first, but: there are other things making this place worthwhile. Also: rather don't go here without a car and if, then be aware of Shabbat or Public holidays as there won't be any public transport then. Bus stop is directly in front of the hotel but connections are not that frequent or check beforehand with the hotel for solutions (call them - I messaged but didn't get a response). What I found disappointing: - The guy at the reception that checked us in was not friendly or helpful at all which is too bad because it's the first contact for guests and left a bad impression. Luckily, everyone else was nice, in an authentic way. - The room was new but basic, the bathroom in the room was smelly (smell was disgusting) and the cleaning of the bathroom not great. - Many families with kids staying here - the big pool is not exclusive for hotel guests and mainly for kids and not as nice as in the pictures with old sunchairs etc. Showers there looked very old and dirty too (disgusting). - Food in the Baobar is not overwhelming for the price you pay (disappointing after having had such good food in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem - it is clear they don't need to compete) - buffet is available for 150 NIS in the big restaurant. It would be nice if the spa and adjacent big pool would play the same music - it was somehow annoying to hear lounge music on one ear and pop on the other. There are many nice things about this place as well! - The kibbutz is basically an oasis with many plants and a nice garden. In fact this is really special and really enjoyed the walk to the breakfast restaurant with the smells from the different plants! - The views on the canyons and the dead sea are magnificent. - Breakfast was good! - Matrasses were comfortable - The spa includes a hamam, a dead sea-like pool and an outside pool with a beautiful view, very nice to hang out! - Apart from the receptionist at check in, the staff was very nice! - There are some organized tours with very nice guides (transport with own car) as well as activities such as concerts and yoga. - Good starting point to visit Ein Gedi, Ein Bokek or Masada. Overall I am really happy I stayed here and would always prefer this palace above the big boxes in Ein Bokek!

We found ourselves here due to floods. They were helpful, reliable. The rooms were lovely. Breakfast was tasty as well

The room was very nice, but you'd think a hotel at this price would have a simple box of tissues in the room. The fellow at reception told me, "we don't have tissues, use toilet paper." Seriously? Also, we couldn't get a cup of tea with dinner. At 150 NIS for the meal, is that too much to ask?

Beautiful scenery and land scape. The price (480$!!!) for one night was outrages for an old and very basic room. Unfortunately we stayed during the high holidays time, due to a festival in the area, it was packed and noisy the line for breakfast started far outside the dining room, it was obvious that the place was not ready ahead for high capacity, we had to leave and come back, by the time we were able to get in, the place looked messy and not pleasant to say the least. Service was a shame!!! everywhere but mainly at the reception desk the clerk was rude and not accommodating. The spa was a rescue !!! beautiful and serene.

There are great things about this hotel and some less than great things. The rooms are a bit basic, but comfortable. I slept very well. I could not figure out the TV, but that's on me - I didn't ask for help. The grounds are amazing - so tranquil. The restaurant is hit or miss - some dishes are great, others not so much. The spa is wonderful. Although I did not have any treatments myself, those with me RAVED about the services they had at the spa. The reception staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. The porters were excellent.

Honnestly the best place for kids. They went to the Baobab camp and had a blast. The camp staff was so sweet and there were many activities for them. As for the adults, the place is pretty, the food is ok, with a massive salad bar every day and the view outside is just stunning. I did not have high hopes, but its a really neat place.

Probably the nicest view in Israel, by far. The hotel is situated high above the dead sea, overlooking the sea and sorrounding mountains. Areas around the rooms are well shaded with a huge variety of vegitation and placed for kids to run around and play. The pool is partially shaded so you can stay there at any time of day. Food was also good - there's a restaurant and dining room. Outside (short drive) there are a few attractions to go and see - parks and beaches.
