Our stay was ok, hostel was clean but way too small room with no window, therefore poor air circulation. Worst breakfast I've ever had. Far from city center. Booked with discount but asked to pay the difference upon arrival. Overall place is not bad but overrated.

I really liked my stay here. Cons: - You won't find as many fellow travelers here. - Bathroom stalls are tiny. - Wifi does not work at all in the dorm bed. Pros: - Very clean. - Water refill station. - 45 minute walk from the airport with sidewalks. - Secure gate. - Comfortable bed with curtains and plug in outlets. - Great artwork on the walls. - The receptionist dealt with two walk in guests who were trying to be rude and negotiate a price for the night. I am staying here again!

Nice hostel. Good wifi. Buses to the train station / nearest metro stop run every 3-4 min. A few small grocery stores, a liquor store and an awesome kebab place nearby.

Nice hostel, administrators are very helpful. Bit far from city center, but just a small cab ride away from major attractions. Breakfast can be slightly better.

I found this hostel just slightly bizarre. I don't know whether I was there at a bad time after reading the other reviews. Firstly, the cleanliness - my room was not clean at all. The bedding was bad, pillows seemed to be about 10 years old, the bed itself had a horrible smell to it, like a dog had been sleeping on it for a week (it was just on one side of the bed too so I'm not entirely sure this wasn't the case). The bathrooms on the other hand were very clean. The toilets were definitely kept on top of which was great, but the showers seemed to be clean just because nobody else was using them. There were a lot of people sitting around the hostel at all times of day doing nothing or just looking at their phones. There was apparently a breakfast provided but I never ate it as it was really badly organised and there was a large group staying at the hostel who stayed in the breakfast room for hours meaning it was impossible to sit down - fortunately, there was a really great little somsa place around the corner where I went for some breakfast instead. It's not too far from the airport but further from the centre of the city. The nearest metro is quite far when it's 30 degrees outside - I used Yandex to get around everywhere which was fine, about €1-€2 to the centre of the city. If I had booked to stay any longer than the two nights, I would have checked out early and gone somewhere else.

Awesome cozy place and the owner did an amazing job with the wall-art. We also arrived way to early with no problem. We even had access to our beds (we were lucky that they were already available). Clean kitchen with everything you need and showers with strong stream. But most importantly, of all the places we stayed in Uzbekistan and Turkey this trip, they have BY FAR the best WiFi! It is amazing!

The shared bathroom is rough with only one shower and I understand it is a hostel, but there is a heavy lack of service.

This is a nice hostel! Rooms are great with sockets and curtains by each bed. Everything is very clean and the kitchen is super nice! Staff is very kind although it did not feel like a super social hostel, if that's what you're after. Keep in mind that it's located a bit outside the center and there's not really anything to do/eat in that area. I recommend!

I have been here for almost 2 months and it turn out to be one of the best hostels I've been in the whole Central Asia. Guys at the reception were so nice, friendly and helpful. Common areas, rooms, bathrooms and kitchen are very clean. I have no complain about this place, hope to see them soon!

Bottomchan. 👎, firstly at the check-in we are asked to pay more than 20% for some tourism fee which we didn't even get an invoice for. Total scam. Poor ventilation in the rooms Dirty Toilets and smelly bathrooms Rude staff Avoid this place at all costs.

I stayed at Topchan Hostel near the bus stand, and it's conveniently located for travelers. You can catch the 13T bus to Taskent Metro for just 2K som, making it very affordable to explore Tashkent using the metro at 1400 som per ride. The hostel is clean and well-maintained with multiple washrooms available. They even have parking space, which is a bonus. The kitchen facilities are excellent, allowing guests to cook their meals, and there's free water and hot water for coffee. The buffet breakfast is a highlight, offering a variety of options, including bread, eggs, sausages, salad, fruits, butter, tea, and coffee. The reception is helpful in guiding visitors around Tashkent. The only drawbacks are the relatively high price of $12 per night and the absence of a handshower in the toilet, which is important for Muslim visitors. Overall, Topchan Hostel provides a comfortable stay and is well-equipped for travelers.

I don't recommend staying there. To put it shortly, it has nothing to offer that would make me wanna consider staying there again and for the price it's better to stay somewhere else I think. The staff at the reception are not accomodating, they seem to be "bothered" when you want to check in. Don't show around the designated rooms, beds, bathrooms, kitchen, no explanation or any real effort into accomodating guests. The prices are much higher than on the booking apps so make sure you book through external websites not directly at the reception. It's quite busy but not in a good way. Lots of kids, families, people who look like they live there instead of travelling. Lots of suspicious characters in both female and mixed dorms just lingering around, lying on the floor, staring etc. It was kept fairly clean considering the amount of people there and the lady serving breakfast was so helpful and lovely. However the breakfast itself was fairly underwhelming too. Location is meh, far from metro, nothing to see or do around, when you open the windows it's often loud outside. There was a smell of gas leak next to mixed dorm for a few days we stayed there. Quite concerning. My shower didn't have a shower head, it was like bathing with a hose. Stink of dirty shoes and feet when you walk in. Nothing good to highlight sadly. Just avoid it.

just a hop away from the center but still great in many ways. extremely helpful staff, good facilities, spunky interiors, a fully accessible kitchen to cook and make coffee, clean bathrooms and rooms, very economical and perfect for solo travelers. will recommend for anyone looking to stay short or long, chan is a delight in many ways!

I was completely feel safe as I am travelling with family including two kids aging 2 & 4. The property was clean and a pure hostel ambience. Breakfast was OK. Location is nice but a little far from city centre, but we can manage with taxi.

I put one star for clean, one star for beauty, design of the place. We slept in 2 private rooms, it was ok , but for the price it wasnt. Expensive, worst breakfast i had in Uzbekistan, bed are not so confortables, room is too small and not good table to work on (or not at all). One more star for good place to meet people and coffee and tea always there. And also its far from city center. So it depends on your needs.

It’s a 3 and a half star “hostel” but they scam every guest that walks through their door. Charge 3$ a night per person extra for this fake registration that they dont even do/give to you upon checking out. No other hostel or guesthouse we stayed at does this. Even says on the American embassy website this isn’t needed and hasn’t been for quite sometime.

Very ANNOYED at the hostel... The price with Taxes is clearly stated on the online booking and they tried to charge us 20% more saying that they dont ackowledge those online prices. Not only to us but a lot of other customers, staff is not very friendly and we had to wait nearly an hour till they accepted our online prices. Also the hostel is very far from the metro station and other amenities. People in the lobby are very loud at all times

Friendly and helpful staff who take extra initiative and effort to ensure a happy stay! Extremely vibrant atmosphere in the hostel, there is always someone interesting to talk to! Comfortable beds in warm rooms, good view from the window, great showers and a decent wifi! Kudos to the team at Topchan, loved it and hope to be back someday soon! Far from the city centre although quite near to the airport

Excellent service and quality of amenities @ Topchan. However, make sure you give the cheapest option for taxis to your customers! 20k from the hostel to the airport was a bit pricey. Other than that, I would definitely stay there again. Warm regards from Canada!

Really nice hostel. Was a great place to relax and meet people. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were nicely decorated and clean with comfortable beds. Bathrooms were always clean and the showers were excellent. I'd definitely go back if I was returning to Tashkent.

One star for Topchan’s nice staff and one so that it’s not the worst note possible. The overall opinion on google is for me way too exaggerated. The family room was dirty-ish (the bathroom was reeking from the sewage) and the air conditioning was broken, spitting mud all over our things. Plus, the reception guy gave me a higher price in soms the first day, my luck I didn’t have enough cash to pay so I paid the next day and the other reception lady calculated the price in a correct way. I don’t know if it was due to COVID but the breakfast wasn’t a real breakfast - just some old bread and eggs. All in all there was a huge discrepancy between my idea of how it was going to be and how it was in reality.

Probably the best hostel in Tashkent. Very well-organized, clean and established with huge number of guests already staying there and close to the airport. We stayed there for our last night in Tashkent.
