We stayed at the wonderfu and historic: 'The Jaffa' in early 2019 a few months after it opened. The British designer John Pawson did a wonderful job dovetailing the modern with the historic. Just so much rich history remains here at this hotel site with design elements and original materials from the 12th century. Blocks away from a Port thats has been in operation over four millenia. I liken it to staying in a museum with all the rich history going back to the preserved Crusader fort wall in the lobby and courtyard. A wonderful citrus fragrance wafts thru the enclosed spaces of the hotel, throughout the halls and spa. They have captured the scent well, as a custom fragrance in the bespoke soaps and lotions found in your bathroom. The bar is truly a unique re-image of the old French hospital chapel. The pastels captured in the fresco walls just capture you and are so soothing. The orange blossoms wife your fortunate to catch then in bloom are intoxicating. Looking forward to returning to Tel Aviv after Israel decides they are going to stay open, 😀 for non-citizens. So far so good.

We had such an amazing and calming experience at the L.Raphael Beauty Spa at The Jaffa Hotel!! The spa staff so friendly, and professional. The massage was one of the best I’ve ever had!! I also want to mention the breakfast, the food is fresh, the staff is very courteous and friendly (special thanks to Valeria who served us and the manager Matt) We also want to mention the pool staff, Angel was very nice and took care of us until the end of our stay. but there were also employees who were not friendly, this is the concierge George, and the receptionist. We asked to open the chapel for a tour, but we were refused; the staff referred to the fact that it was not cleaned there and offered to come back another time. we think this is unwelcoming and rude.

I stayed at the hotel for one night. The hotel is very nice , but terrible service. The food Is horrible, and the parking is the worst. During our checkout the elevator got broken so our car was stuck there for over 6 hours ! This really made our trip inconvenient and we kept getting put off with the time frame of them fixing the problem. They did offer us free food and credit for room service but still charged us for the services. They basically stole my credit card information and charged me over 1 $1000 in credit. I tried to call to report this but the manager is always busy and keeps saying they will call back and promising to take care of it but we have still not gotten any answer or solution a month later and with over 7 phone calls. My recommendation is that there are so many other high luxury hotels that are worth your money, so don’t go here! I hope I’m helping for some of you . This is fraud alert 🚨

What a great experience!! The team is super welcoming! Thank you, Moshe, Farhad, Aviv, Angel, Italia, Denis, Ilya, Ihia and the team for making this experience one of the best vacations we’ve ever had in Israel!

I stayed at the Jaffa Luxury Collection in July and I had the most amazing stay. I stayed for 5 nights and it was the most enjoyable stay that I have had in Israel. Shireen at the front desk went above and beyond to assist me with early check in and to make sure my late checkout went smoothly. The property accommodated my early checkin by allowing me to use the showers in the spa to freshen up from the long flight from the US as they were making sure my room was ready, cleaned and inspected since it was well before check in time. Shireen also assisted with local recommendations and even offered to help to get reservations for us at restaurants that were hard to get into. We went and the food was amazing. The entire staff from valet to restaurant were a delight to be with during our 5 day stay. Highly recommend this property.

A completely non-smoking hotel. There are only 2 smoking areas, which are uninviting. Unfortunately, I have to deduct a star for this reason, because I think smokers deserve a comfortable area in a "luxury" hotel too. Otherwise there is nothing to complain about: rooms are spacious and clean, the staff is friendly (sometimes a bit slow in the restaurant), and very helpful. I had a small problem in my room, but it was fixed very quickly after 10 minutes. The quality of the food was high, even if I didn't like everything, but that was only a problem of my taste. All in all, a clear 5 star recommendation for non-smokers 😉

Our stay for 3 nights at the Jaffa Hotel in Tel Aviv was a perfect ending to a beautiful trip to Tel Aviv. The first room we were assigned had a view of the bus stop (Deluxe Room Historic Building) but they quickly rectified that and the next day we were moved to an upgraded Grand Deluxe room in the Historic wing which was lovely, with its super high ceilings. The only issue we had was that the water from the shower took around 5 minutes to heat up which was not very environmentally friendly but other than that, the hotel was stunning. The pool had sun for most of the day, the breakfast was very good and the service was very good too. Coming out of the pandemic is not easy for the service industry so to achieve this level of good service is impressive. For those who have Soho House memberships, there is a beautiful Soho House across the street so make sure to check that out too.

We booked a junior suite and it was the size of an average hotel room so we upgraded and moved to the Queen of sheba suite meaning we lost our view which was a shame This room was noisier too, black out curtains didn't black out anything so we woke with the sunrise which wasn't ideal when travelling with 11 month twins The pressure on the shower was minimal and was either too hot or too cold The mini bar wasn't filled daily Apart from the above negatives we had a wonderful stay the room was lovely (perhaps over priced for its size) and service was great Concierge were excellent at sorting out activities/babysitters/restaurants The food was delicious but the restaurant was a bit lacking in atmosphere as was so quiet

I’ve stayed in Paulson’s Sasakwa lodge in Tanzania - arguably the greatest hotel in the world - Bill Gates was there at the same time- In Israel I stay at Pawson’s (British Architect) historic and contemporary Hotel Jaffa- the service is incredibly responsive and accommodating. What more can you ask from both a modern and historic midsize hotel in the center of Tel Aviv’s most historic neighborhood.

The hotel is beautiful, excellent location and the staff were all brilliant. The rooms very quiet and peaceful and great pool too. Had a spa treatment which was just average, but nothing else I can think of for constructive criticism!

Beautiful hotel in the heart of Jaffa. But when they ask $1,000 a night for a ‘deluxe room with sea view’, you expect a sea view, right? Well so did I. I looked and looked again, but there was no sea in sight. You can try and stand on the bed and if you are tall enough, you might see a slice of the big blue appearing behind an ugly building. That’s not my idea of fun however. If you don’t like to be scammed, I would recommend looking at other options. See pics.

Hotel with history. Incredibly beautiful old building. Wonderful breakfast. Special thanks to Anna, Alina, Roman, bartender Mikhail. Delicious food, wonderful buffet. At the front board met a nice guy Aaron who was very polite. Thanks for the wonderful experience. We'll be back again!

The list is long on the issues here - First… beautiful hotel inside. After that the issues stack up - rooms are awkward - poor layout and not good for two people per room or staying more than a night. (Nowhere to store anything). The staff is nice but lack experience. Lastly, location would appear to be great sitting on the edge of Old Jaffa but it turns out its noisy and lacks good places to eat. Watch your bill at the end - the staff adds charges they can’t explain at the end and they ignore responding when questioned.

Amazing hotel but the staff is what makes this hotel so great. The breakfast spot is awesome especially Roman. He took care of us every day and made sure we felt special and had an amazing stay.

Took a night at this hotel as a treat for my sister’s wedding day. Had an incredible day. Facilities are wonderful. Rooms are spacious. But most important are the staff. The two Romans, one at reception and the other at the restaurant, went above and beyond. Liza, and the other waiters in both the pool area and restaurant were incredibly friendly. As a Russian speaker, it felt good to have the kind of service I’m used to in Israel; a big surprise.

  • 5/5 InnaYa 11 months ago on Google
Beautiful service which is a rare case for Israel. The key reason is young and ambitious team of Russian and Ukrainian people providing services higher then you expect. Thank you, guys. Roman - the waiter was unbelievably attentive and very smart. The rooms are not very spacious but new and highly aquipped. The technologies cause a lot of problems though...

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Jaffa Hotel in Tel Aviv, and I can confidently say that it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I stepped into this captivating oasis, I was enveloped in an ambiance of luxury, tranquility, and impeccable service. The Jaffa Hotel is located in the historic Jaffa neighborhood, and its elegant design flawlessly blends old-world charm with contemporary sophistication. The attention to detail is evident in every corner, from the tasteful artwork and meticulously chosen furnishings to the seamless integration of modern amenities. Upon arrival, I was warmly greeted by the attentive and friendly staff who ensured a seamless check-in process. Alina was one of the staff that helped us get checked in and showed us our room and she was truly one of the kindest people I’ve ever met (and for reference I’m from Canada). The level of hospitality throughout our stay was exceptional; the staff consistently went above and beyond to cater to our every need, offering personalized welcome gifts in our room and providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The rooms at the Jaffa Hotel are a true testament to refined luxury. Our room was spacious, exquisitely decorated, and equipped with state-of-the-art amenities. The attention to detail in the room's design, from the plush bedding to the carefully curated artwork, created a serene and inviting atmosphere. The views of Jaffa and the Mediterranean Sea from my balcony were absolutely breathtaking. One of the highlights of my stay was the hotel's culinary offerings. The Jaffa Hotel boasts a remarkable array of dining options, each providing a unique and unforgettable experience. Whether it was indulging in a sumptuous breakfast in the breathtaking courtyard, savoring innovative Mediterranean cuisine at the acclaimed restaurant, or relaxing with a handcrafted cocktail at the sheshbesh bar, every meal was a delight for the senses. The Jaffa Hotel's location is also a major asset. Situated in the heart of Jaffa, it offers easy access to the city's vibrant cultural scene, bustling markets, and stunning beaches. In conclusion, the Jaffa Hotel is a true gem. From its impeccable service and stunning design to its exceptional culinary offerings and prime location, it left an indelible impression on me. Whether you are visiting for business or pleasure, the Jaffa Hotel is an ideal choice for those seeking a luxurious and unforgettable experience. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough and look forward to returning soon.

The staff at this beautiful hotel make it worth the visit- the concierge Aviad is world class. The staff- Roman, Shireen, and Luciano were effortlessly helpful and considered our every need to make us comfortable during our stay. They are warm and friendly. Ilya at the pool ensure we were taken care of every minute we were there. We will be back! Thank you to the tema for your outstanding commitment to customer service!

Gorgeous courtyard, perfect for a glass of wine away from the hustle and bustle of the narrow lanes of Jaffa. I admire renovations that blend old and new, modern and traditional, new and vintage, and this place is exactly that with a lot of style and charm.

My wife and I spent a weekend (2 nights) and paid about 2000$ including taxes. Cheap room, bad service and really bad hospitality. Overpriced and really not worth it!!! The room is very cheap and isn’t equipped with any luxury tools. Even the mini bar where they have only coke and soda is not free. One night I asked for a taxi the guy told if I have Uber or Gett so I can do it myself?!?! Then we had some cocktails at the pool and they were too sweet we asked to cancel it they told us they give us free cocktails tomorrow and then we took cocktails again too sweet and guess what… they charged us for both days. Only after I noticed and asked for a manager they cancelled it. We came to the pool on Saturday and we had no seats because they let the spa clients to be at the pool and then the hotel guests has no seats left… ridiculous!!! When we left we expressed our concerns and huge disappointment for the very expensive weekend and they told us look we’re gonna see what’s possible and a manager will contact you for compensation. I didn’t get a call until today, it was almost a month ago. I booked it through an agent and she is trying to find out what happened after we told her and no one of the relevant managers aware of that case. Very poor handling and clients service.

I am here spending $700 a night and the AC is NOT working! It is 90 degrees outside. I have been calling for service for four hours to no avail. This is supposed to be a 5 star hotel. I have NEVER in all my travels around the world in multiple 5 star hotels been treated this poorly. The front desk hung up on me twice and I had to personally go and find the manager. They won’t put me in another room and I am laying here, jet lagged from my 15 hour flight to Tel Aviv unable to sleep because it is hot as hell in this room.

We had an amazing experience at Jaffa Hotel. We went for afternoon tea and Roman was so attentive. He couldn't do enough! It was hot, he immediately got us water. We ordered our drinks and hot drinks, he delivered them so quickly. We ordered cakes (which were amazing), he delivered them. We felt like we were the only guests, even though the cafe was busy. Thank you for making us feel so welcome Roman. We have raved about Jaffa Hotel to all our friends and family back in Australia.

The service here is extra ordinary. Each and every one was more courteous than any other hotel that I have stayed so far. Great location. Good rooms. And very good spa.

We loved our recent stay at The Jaffa. First of all, the location and history are so compelling. Learning about the structure and the why and how it was built really drew me in. We loved be in this part of Tel Aviv to experience the cultures and convergence of what makes the city so unique. Before arrival, we corresponded with Aviad at the concierge desk. He booked dinners for us and was responsive to our questions. I didn’t end up doing any of the tours though. The hotel itself is stunning and so unique. Our check in went smoothly and we were upgraded based on the PTS booking. The room had a small balcony, an espresso machine and a tv that was actually a mirror. The bathroom and shower were well equipped. We had twice daily maid service. We had small problems with the room that we spoke with the front desk about. Sadly, they weren’t fixed during our stay. We enjoyed the balcony and the small in room refrigerator. It was very hot and the water was welcome. We had the buffet bench and enjoyed sitting on the patio. The service and food were great each and everyday of our stay. The staff were well trained, kind and made effort effort to connect with the guests. We went to the pool once and it was hard to go back because it was too busy most days. At some points, the hotel limited the number of people because it was so busy. Some of the guests got very rude about seating and were aggressive about taking over the lounge chairs. It made it unpleasant to return. The gym was great and well equipped. Most of the time it wasn’t busy at all. The front desk were helpful and tried to give tips and suggestions. Many times they were very busy and it wasn’t possible to get their help on directions. We ate one night at a cafe nearby. The food was good but overpriced. Suggest heading down a few blocks to Onza and the Market area. The neighborhood was lively and always felt safe to walk around. We took the bus a few times and taxis. Many drop you at the corner so that they don’t turn into Old Jaffa and have to make the trip around. We explored a few days and wish we had more time to do so. It is a fascinating area of Tel Aviv and the Jaffa makes it so special.

Many thanks to the best hotel in Israel! The service is amazing, the staff is nice and helps with anything you need. It was on our wedding day and Alex did everything to make us happy! Roman, Emil and Dona also helped us and were attentive to every request. The breakfast was excellent. Thank you!

This is the 3rd stay in this hotel. I have to admit that the quality of the services never changed it’s always amazing. Staff is so kind and attentive. Location of this hotel is perfect in the beautiful historical Jaffa. Swimming pool is also very nice and you can certainly relax here. The only downside of this hotel are the sizes of the rooms - even if you book premium/deluxe room it’s so small (there is no place where to place your luggage for example because of the lack of space in the room). Secondly, prices have rocketed up in the recent year but it’s understandable as this is probably the best hotel in tel aviv based on the location, quality of services etc. P.S.: one small tip - in the pool area it would be nice if the staff was asking guests if they’d like to order some food or drinks instead of guests having to approach them and ask for menu etc - this is no criticism just small advice to step up your game in serving your customers as 5* hotel ;) Lastly I want to thank concierge Ariella (sorry for wrong spelling) for her very kind approach and huge empathy and professionalism! She is amazing and deserves to be given great feedback from the hotel management!

A truly magnificent experience. The property with its history, location, and amenities are unparalleled. The service is absolutely amazing. I was taken care of from the moment I entered to the moment I departed. All requests were accommodated and the staff consideration and attention were truly appreciated. The location is steps from Jaffa flea with restaurants and bars, Jaffa port, beach and many other beautiful areas to discover. I particularly enjoyed taking advantage of the pool, spa, and gym facilities. The rooms themselves were serene and well thought out. The cleanliness, turn down service, small gifts, and handwritten notes made the stay feel personal and well cared for. I will definitely return to The Jaffa and recommend for others to experience it.

The Jaffa Hotel is one of my favorites hotels in Tel Aviv. As an Israeli Private Tour Guide I always recommend to stay in a safe place ,and close to the beach and close to good restaurants and bars. The Jaffa is a great choice. It isn't Kosher. Their breakfast is one of the best in the city. Enjoy 😊.

Beautiful hotel. Excellent customer focus and service. Nice pool area. Very good gym for hotel. Rooms in old section are updated, but impractically laid out. A lot of high quality detail and expense was put into the room, but some of the gimmicks are impractical (e.g., tv in mirror that is barely visible unless shades drawn).

The hotel is superb! Love everything about our stay, the service was good and the flowers were freshly beautiful, you can feel that the guest is top priority, my only note is that in the restaurant there were no flowers any where. Either way this is a true five star 🌠 hotel.

This hotel provides great looks and design. I only visited the Goldas restaurant, didn’t spend a night in the hotel itself. The restaurant was surprisingly high quality! All the food that we ordered tasted excellent, I only took pics of the deserts tho since we ate everything before I remembered to take pics. Recommend!

Beautiful hotel in a very old building that was renovated to the highest. The location of the hotel is spot on, with so much to see and so in the area, you can chose from browsing shops at the JAFFA flea market district or go and have lunch at the old Jaffa port. The JAFFA hotel is a really special, from the best class service to the amazing food choices, 5 star atmosphere and top accommodations. Make sure you visit there once, if you can afford it.

Blown away by this hotel! The staff are absolutely incredible and go out of their way to ensure you have an amazing experience. Check in was a breeze. We were welcomed with some champagne and then immediately got upgraded to a room with the pool view after requesting an upgrade. We had someone help us with our luggage and then got a full tour of the room’s features which was a nice added touch. Shortly after we settled in we got a knock on our door with a handwritten welcome card and a fruit platter with a small cake. The pool is spectacular and the bar service poolside was very smooth with very accommodating staff. I loved the terrace where my wife and I had a delicious Israeli styled breakfast (which wasn’t included in our rate) and there is free wifi which was very reliable all over the hotel no matter where you go - no dead spots anywhere. The gym is also fully equipped with most machines (Technogym), weight rack (limited to maximum of 40lb dumbbells) and a small section for foam rolling and stretching. The hotel is located in south Tel Aviv in the heart of Jaffa steps away from the flea market and old clock tower. Walking into the center of Neve Tzedek and Tel Aviv (Rothschild) is also very doable. It was my first time staying in this hotel and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly recommended.

I travel for business and stay very often in 5 star hotels, this hotel is not one of them. It's one of the worst places I stayed in lately. THERE IS NO SOUNDPROOFING in the rooms. I can hear very clearly every conversation my neighbour has, I can hear every car passing by on the street and any time anyone even walks outside in the hall. It's truly amazing that some of the worst 1 star hotels can have a better noise management than this place. And yes I changed rooms and talked with other people in the hotel, it's the same all over. Also the elevators are pitch black, so is gym and spa, as apparently some kind of gimmick/atmosphere?! Cleanliness is also not greatest, broken glass, hair, dead insects, stains. Unacceptable for a "luxury" place. Also no place to connect any plugs, 2 are in a hidden compartment that can't fit most of the plugs. Shower is spilling water all over the bathroom, etc. I can go on, but please stay away, go somewhere else.

Hotel public spaces are very nice but rooms are small and claustrophobic. It's like sitting in a coach seat but paying for first class. The lighting is poor and there is very little space to store your stuff. I would think there are nicer options for the price.

  • 1/5 Taryn S. 1 year ago on Google
VERY noisy, paper thin walls, some staff are either rude or seem stressed (especially the restaurant staff), our coffee machine was not clean upon checking in, some lights/fixtures did not work/did not work correctly in our room, hotel staff told us how the hotel receives many complaints, we heard other guests with similar complaints, felt to be an expensive and overpriced hotel running on poorly paid staff. Very dissatisfied. We chose this hotel because of the gym and location. We will DEFINITELY avoid in the future.

For such a beautiful and expensive hotel they sure do nickel and dime you. It makes for quite an unpleasant experience, like maybe you should walk around with your wallet open so they can see how much money you have. I'll be advising future travelers to choose one of Tel Aviv's other luxury options.

I stayed in The Jaffa for four nights and really enjoyed my stay. The building is a 17th century hospital which has been renovated very nicely. The space is very quiet, giving it a nice change to the bustle in the city. The inner courtyard has a nice atmosphere where you can sit near the tasty restaurant or lay by the pool. Rooms are luxurious and spacious, especially the bathrooms. Staff is very welcoming, particularly the two concierges who got us into every restaurant and bar on short notice and the deputy head of food & beverage Avi who made a warm welcome on the first day after an exhausting journey to Israel. Hope to come back here soon!

Beautiful hotel that was converted from a hospital. The rooms are comfortable and clean. I recommend getting a room in the contemporary side as we originally had a room in the historic side and the street noises were very loud. The contemporary side was very quiet and peaceful. Breakfast was delicious with fresh green juices and an abundance of choices. Customer service is also wonderful here.

Recently my family and I went to Israel. Our tourguide leave us, we waited more than an hour in front of Saint George Restaurant and their staff help us a lot. We try to reach for a cab back to our cruise and thanks to Nikita we are safe and sound. The staff of The Jaffa treat us very kindly and make us feel welcome and safe. The taxi driver was the best. Thanks to all at Jaffa Hotel

I am totally impressed with the outstanding service I received at my recent visit to the Jaffa hotel. This began with our arrival but continued throughout our entire trip. The managers, and their TEAM provided superb service during a difficult trip where my wallet was lost or stolen in Jerusalem. Superb support from everyone. My thanks to the entire hotel team.
