It
was
a
very
negative
experience
at
this
restaurant
last
Friday.
Before
getting
to
the
food
itself,
I
want
to
describe
the
unusual
and
somewhat
bizarre
approach
that
this
business
is
taking.
I
will
not
complain
about
having
seated
for
about
15
minutes
without
offering
us
a
glass
of
water.
That’s
minor
for
me,
something
I
cannot
say
on
the
eye
catching
disclaimer
we
spotted
on
the
menu
stating
a
no
return
policy
of
dishes.
It
said
‘not
tasty
is
not
an
excuse’
(I
would
add
‘but
a
great
reason
not
to
return’).
Strange
that
they
needed
to
set
such
policy
stating
it
on
the
menu.
It
must
be
a
frequent
response
to
their
food
but
for
transparency
I
would
expect
them
to
state
it
on
their
online
menu
and
website
too.
We
had
the
autumn
vegetables,
roasted
malfuf,
blue
jack
makarel
tartar
and
the
octopus
on
stew
and
butter
crab
stock.
The
tartar
was
OK.
Fish
was
fresh,
gently
seasoned.
Mild
flavors,
very
low
tone.
On
the
more
negative
side
the
dish
was
tiny
and
the
elegant
white
plate
that
it
was
served
on
was
broken.
The
vegetables
dish
was
a
sad
form
of
a
salad
made
from
refrigerated
vegetables
and
some
leaves
that
were
not
very
fresh.
It
was
the
worst
form
of
salad
I’d
paid
for
in
recent
years
(Not
forgetting
Aroma).
The
malfuf
which
is
a
tasty
Arabian
cabbage
was
roasted
and
served
on
a
lentil
stew.
There
was
nothing
inspiring
about
this
dark
brown
looking
dish.
There
was
some
sort
of
added
sweetness
that
felt
artificial
and
blurred
the
taste
of
the
overcooked
vegetables.
I’ve
recently
had
one
of
my
best
malfuf
dishes
at
the
‘brothers’
(ha’achim
restaurant)
and
Brut’s
version
simply
doesn’t
cut.
But
the
star
of
the
evening
was
the
98
shekel
octopus
dish
that
was
one
of
the
most
insulting
plates
I’ve
seen
in
25
years
of
culinary
experiences.
Six
pieces,
some
weren’t
recognizable
as
octopus
arms,
overcooked
to
a
point
were
they
weren’t
chewable,
with
some
burned
pieces
of
lamb
fat,
laying
on
a
bad
of
dark
green
/
blackened
paste
that
looked
like
it
is
made
from
the
herbs
of
hell,
or
at
least
didn’t
look
like
food
that
is
supposed
to
go
in,
the
opposite..
This
piece
of
art
was
served
in
a
small
bowl
that
would
typically
hold
pickles
or
an
extra
side
of
fries.
We
did
taste
it,
and
it
was
as
bad
as
it
looked.
To
summarize,
I
know
that
this
restaurant
is
adventurous.
I
didn’t
know
that
they
have
a
no
return
policy
for
dishes.
I
knew
it
as
soon
as
we
sat
down
and
read
the
menus
but
I
had
no
other
reservation
on
that
Friday
night.
They
also
charged
my
card
in
advance
for
the
reservation
which
didn’t
really
leave
us
a
choice.
Otherwise
I
would
never
go
to
a
restaurant
with
such
policy
as
a
matter
of
principle.
And
don’t
get
me
wrong,
I
almost
never
returned
a
dish
before.
But
we
couldn’t
touch
that
Octopus
and
weren’t
even
asked
for
a
replacement.
But
forget
that,
and
the
mediocre
food,
and
the
insulting
plating,
and
the
poor
service.
The
worst
part
is
that
they
don’t
even
care
if
you
like
the
food
or
not.
Forget
about
the
money,
they
simply
don’t
give
a
s**t.
They
don’t
want
to
hear
any
criticism
and
they
scare
away
from
any
dialog
with
their
customers.
I
think
that
this
is
part
of
their
strategy,
and
hope
that
it
will
not
last
for
much
longer,
since
this
is
a
wrong
attitude
when
you
run
a
restaurant.
