My exhibit was censured. My name removed. My property harmed. It's a shame the city of Tel Aviv behaves like this. The exhibit was about the systematic use of contact centers (מרכזי קשר) by the state of Israel. It illustrated the horror that the thousands of children have to go through each year after vein systematically cut off their fathers in the state off Israel and particularly in Tel Aviv. As a form of engaged art the exhibition was censored since the city of tel aviv provides funding for the cinémathèque and also runs a contact center where about a thousand children are forced to see their dad in a cage. That cage is next to gan meir and the gay center. It has an armed guard and wire on shuttered windows. Video cameras and separate entrances for the women who bring the children and the men who go see them in the cage.

Terrible experience with this cinema (excluding the actual film itself). Since 2018 -- so for 3 years -- it has been impossible to purchase tickets online with discounts, even when I paid 400 shekels for a membership I could not redeem tickets through the website. The year is 2021 and there is still an issue to redeem tickets through the website with codes like Digitel discounts, and the cinema really just shrugs about it and doesn't care about improving the customer experience. Next thing you know you're on the phone for 20 minutes to purchase 1 ticket to 1 movie. 20 minutes! It's really a fabulously coordinated collective failure on the part of the customer service & marketing teams with each person pointing the finger at someone else so that nothing is actually done to improve the customer experience.

The Cinematheque is a wonderful place for cinema lovers of all ages. Other than regular shows, it offers courses, themed series, lectures and festivals celebrating artists, communities, cinematographers and foreign films. A wide and sophisticated selection of films is on screen every day in 5 comfortable movie theaters. Many times viewers get to meet the creators and enjoy a conversation, ask questions and have a much more wholesome experience. The yearly membership subscription is quite affordable, with several different discounts for the elderly, disabled or local residents of Tel-Aviv. Many screenings are free for members, others are half the usual price, which is currently 40 shekels a seat. There are also activities for children, both on holidays or special occasions and on a regular basis, in accordance with age and interests. In the main hall there is a large waiting area with tables and plenty of chairs, a small café and a specious restroom. One can also enjoy the changing exhibitions on the walls all around. Highly inclusive, LGBTQA friendly, accessible for wheelchair users including accessible parking, and the place is very well maintained. Tickets can be found on the website, at the booth or on the phone. Customer service is available on site, on the phone and by email and the staff is always very helpful and kind. Thank you :)

Wonderful, to visit the Cinema after 16 months. Great location, only 15 minutes from the suburbs.

Very professional and helpful staff. The place is well maintained, and overall, it has a very nice atmosphere. The festivals they produce (eg, Animix, Icon) are the best in Israel.

Cinematheque is an old establishment that brings in quality movies from all over the world. If you still like going to the movies, this is the place to go to see all kinds of stuff. Now they have a home that has many theatres in it so there is always something going on.

Home to TSIFF. Full of inside-jokes and all in Hebrew, still felt exciting. The movie theatre feels like the real theatre - obviously in a good sense. Comfortable, free, welcoming, open-minded, too

A staple of Israeli cinephilia has recently turned surprisingly hip and young and up to date.

I visited the cinema after few years of absence and was a bit disappointed to learn that they start screening about 10 minutes after the designated time, forcing the ones who arrived on time to watch trailers. In the past, the cinemathequ was the only place to keep screening times in Tel Aviv. Other than that, the place is perfect. The seats are comfortable, the air condition is not freezing (but still cold, though!), the sound is excellent and the overall experience is great.

Very much needed. However, movie collection is not diverse and it appeals to a very narrow segment of the Israeli population.

We went to the Cinematheque for a Star Wars celebration. It was a lot of fun. You'll want to plan snacks though, especially if you don't eat bread/gluten.

Comfy chairs, good chair heights so the people in front don't block your line of sight.

The food is amazing and it's so beautiful and peaceful here but the staff aren't nice and we waited so long to be seated and they pretty much ignored us, so we eventually left. Also it's pretty expensive.

Home of all cinema fans in Israel. Great selection of movies every day from late morning through late night. You can buy tickets online here: cinema.co.il. Excellent club member service allows you to see hundreds of movies for free. Library, courses, festivals and many other events of cinema and culture at all. Highly recommended. The best.

Cosy cinema showcasing local and international films, focused on indie films and film festival winners. It's a great place if you want to shut out hollywood and experience real cinema.

A highly professional and courteous cinema, projecting unique, cherry picked movies - sometimes accompanied with expert explanations. The place is well managed, incl VOD.

In what is probably the ugliest building in Tel Aviv, you can see award winning films etc, but brace yourself because this is more of an Elderly Club than anything else
