Found time, while attending the wedding, hence visited this temple which was very close by. Due to invasion of kanchipuram by hostile powers, Kanchi mutt was shifted from kanchipuram to down south, and the kamatchi idol was shifted to thanjavur. Bangaru in telugu means full of gold. yes the kamatchi amman statue is made up of full gold. Kamatchi amman is in a standing posture, facing east. Temple faces east. Temple in a very cramped crowded street. But if one can plan their visit properly, there are many temples in this area, adjacent to one another.

It's in heart of the city. Must visit and feel the divine experience. Many people don't know the temple but just 500 metres from Tanjore big temple. And also visit the near Ramar temple...

A less known temple at Thanjavur. Beautiful architecture, soft spoken , helpful priest. He explained the history and significance of this temple. Due to Muslim invasion and attack on Kanchipuram, the idol was shifted to various places for safety. After 40 years, this idol reached at Thanjavur where the king constructed this beautiful temple. Situated about 1 km from the big temple.

Peaceful temple. Clean premises. Poojas are performed as per the religious procedure. The Sastrigals are committed to the tasks entrusted. Ambal's evident grace is there for the devotees to experience.

A very nice experience. Pleasant environment. Goddess statue was brought from Kanchipuram in order to save it. Divine power and vibration can be felt in the temple. Sanctum is lit only by lamps...

Shri Bangaru Kamatchi Amman temple in about a km north of Big temple, Thanjavur. Divine golden Amman deity in the sanctum. Nayakar style architecture. Shri Navaneetha Krishnan temple is just adjacent on the northern side.

Thanjavur Bangaru Kamakshiamman temple, situated in W.main road around 500 metres from Big temple, is an excellent small cute temple. As the name suggests the main deity is golden kamakshi devi, attracting ardent devotees, blessing everyone with their genuine demands/applications. A temple not to miss whoever visits Thanjavur.
