Reception staff are polite, friendly and helpful. The key card is made of bamboo and looks very nice. The rooms are clean and well kept. Depending on the direction of your room, the view can be very nice. The bed and bed linen is very comfortable. If I had to say one bad thing about the hotel rooms it would be that the shower screen is completely useless. Once the shower is turned on, even if the shower screen is closed, the water runs out and the floor mat gets soaked. However the shower is nice and powerful and the shower gel smells lovely. The hotel is walking distance from town and there is a tram stop right in front of the hotel. If you are heading into town, the tram is in the free zone so it’s in a great location. All in all, a lovely experience every time I stay here.

Wow. I work in hospitality and this hotel exceeds everything in every way. The staff are amazing the level of service is exceptional. As I’m in the industry I’m usually very critical but could not find anything the moan about. The food in the restaurant and the members lounge was awesome and from reception to housekeeping the staff were so attentive and looked after us to the highest degree. The staff in the restaurant and members lounge were awesome. We will be back and thank you for an exceptional stay.

An absolutely wonderful experience. My husband and I spent our Wedding Anniversary here and just loved it. The service was exceptionally awesome especially the girls in the Club Lounge, you guys really made it memorable for us. In a time where everything seems to be falling apart, you have proven that a little kindness and attention to detail goes a long way. Till next time :) Andy and Alex

Such a beautiful place, lovely stay & professional staff. The coolest part of the room was the lights being controlled on a tablet, blew my mind. And the view at night was awesome, haven’t seen Melbourne like that before! Edit: Star taken away because 3 weeks later I got a call at 2pm on a Monday asking me to join some sort of reward program after my stay. I said no twice and the representative still did not respect my no, so I hung up.

Amazing suite on level 50. Photos don’t do justice - to the uninterrupted views of greater Melbourne. The suite was impeccable - with a large living and dining area, massive bathroom, and most importantly a very comfortable bed. The service was also amazing during my stay. An excellent 5 star hotel in Melbourne.

We had a Luxury Escapes package over the weekend. Arriving late (8pm) the ‘driveway ambassadors’ seemed a little less than enthusiastic about our arrival. Check in on level 1 was quite casual - the staff member we encountered doesn’t usually do check ins. Anyway, we got our complimentary wine. Our suite on level 45 had sweeping views over Treasury, the northern suburbs, & the east over to Government House and the harbour beyond. The bed was amazing. The amenities were great. The room was spacious & the furniture has a high end feel despite being made in China. We had Club access which had the same views, so chose to do breakfast at No35 restaurant. The staff in the Club were amazing, however the service in No35 was eventful. Beware of the egg station chef as he has a temper! The filipino fellow at the counter on Monday morning was officious. The other staff seemed to be on their game however. It was exciting to be seated a couple of tables up from Fergie (Duchess of York)! I’ll do an additional review of the Club as it was exceptional.

Had an excellent stay here last week. Reception staff were lovely and efficient. Room spacious and clean as expected. Top location. No complaints really. Basement parking operated by First was actually pretty reasonably priced ($35/24h) and was very easy to book online with a direct lift up to the reception floor.

Cannot recommend more highly. Fabulous location. After initially having a bathroom issue we were moved to another room. I cannot thank Marie at Reception enough for the compassionate and caring way she handled this situation. We loved the room she organized for us and the bottle of champagne that was waiting for us. A perfect 2 days and the best memory for my sister and myself. Thank you Marie ❤️

Had coffee at the cafe/bar area on the 35th floor. Service was very slow and twice we asked two different waiters for assistance with an item on the menu for no one to return with an answer. We were then charged for something we didn't order. I've been many times and it is usually very pleasant . Disappointing! Hopefully it is a once off poor experience. You do pay a premium for being there so you would expect the service and quality to match.

The lobby is very beautiful, the location is excellent, the room has a fantastic view, and most importantly, the service staff are very helpful and willing to assist guests. I would like to extend special thanks to Sam and Micki (I'm not sure if I spelled his name correctly) for their assistance. They formed a special service team that helped me solve a tricky car rental issue. I thoroughly enjoyed my hotel experience. I recommend everyone visiting Melbourne to experience the excellent service at Sofitel.

Yes this hotel is in a great location, the rooms are nice and the view is awesome. But unfortunately during my stay the service just wasn't up to scratch. Mini bar never restocked, had to chase one day at 5pm for my room to be made up and the bars and restaurants were mostly closed. Yes yes Covid and all that, but if you're charging me full price I think it's reasonable to expect full service.

My friends came here on a Sunday for a High Tea. Their food presentation, food selection, service and staff are 10/10. Sofitel staff, Noel and Natasha, who looked after our table, stand out in customer service delivery. Where we sat had great views, well-presented cutlery on the table, champagne on arrival, free-flowing tea and coffee throughout, and we enjoyed the live pianists. We can’t wait to come again and have their high tea. This place has a great view of the city and surrounding suburbs.

We've stayed here quite a few times in recent years and always enjoy our stay... just wanted to make mention of how lovely the newly refurbished rooms are. The bed was super comfortable and the choice of furnishings in the rooms have really elevated this hotel back to a 5 star experience.

Wonderful hotel that’s beautiful inside and out. Amazing ballroom where we had a dancing competition on the weekend. Super convenient location in the heart of Melbourne’s city with so much shopping and a variable of eateries within walking distance to choose from. Just wish more of the shops that are inside the complex were open as it seems like they were closed on weekends. Great view from our room and really comfortable beds and pillows.

Clean, spacious rooms with city or harbour views. Quality furniture and fittings. Particularly like the wooden shutters that allow you to size through sunrise if you were out late. Professional staff at the front desk. Valet parking available. Buffet breakfast is a treat, with a large range of options and chefs to prepare your eggs just as you like them. No. 35 also has city views. Close to shopping venues. Also a cinema downstairs in Collins Place.

Suite was okay. Good value for the location I guess. Unfortunately the rooms look a little outdated. Some plugs which are no longer used gathering dust in the corner. The vibe (material/colour palette) of the room was a bit musty, for the apathy of any less savoury comments I would make. Okay to stay 2-3 nights in but I wouldn't return here next time.

Didn't stay in the hotel, just went in for buffer breakfast and it didn't disappoint. Beautiful views from the 35th floor. Food is delicious, great selection and very nice coffee. If you're in Melbourne and wanting a delicious breakfast with a view, try it

Love this 5 star hotel. Location is very handy and easy walking to designer shops. Breakfast at $50 a head not worth the money at the 35 restaurant same food dished up daily literally the same. Go to Dane outside in the mall it was cheap $57 for us both and food was great. Wish we discovered it 5 days earlier. I addressed this with hotel manager but not much changed. I did not like the shower in the bath, but I am a 70 year old woman and can get in OK but getting out I almost tripped. I will check if the have rooms with a separate shower and no bath. I will stay there again but not have breakfast or dinner there.

From the moment I arrived, until the moment I left, I was provided fantastic service. The room provided was great too. The only slight complaint would be the cost of a room service hot chocolate; at $12 for a cup, this seems unnecessarily excessive. I would add, the view from the room is simply spectacular, accommodation starts from level 36 (maybe 37), absolutely breathtaking at night.

First thing that struck me was how welcoming all the staff were. Christine on the Front Desk was charming and engaging and made the check in process so easy. It's a lovely hotel with lots of charm and we've repeatedly found ourselves staring for ages at the incredible Atrium. Little touches like macaroons, champagne, hand written notes and the wonderful smelling lavender spray for your pillows make it extra special. And the views are amazing no matter which side of Melbourne you get. Great hotel. Will definitely be back

We spent the Christmas weekend at the hotel. The whole experience was a pleasure from start to finish. The room comfortable and clean, the staff so friendly and helpful. We would like to especially commend Breda, the parking attendants and all of the breakfast staff. Nothing was too much trouble. We look forward to visiting again.

What a wonderful hotel. Really first class. Beautiful room. Outstanding service, with genuine care and attention from everyone. Cannot recommend highly enough. Special thanks to Hannah in Reservations, Reuben in the Atrium bar, Gloria at check-in and Dan at the concierge desk for taking such great care of us. Can’t wait to come back!

Stayed 9 nights recently with a friend. The service at check in was great so I knew my trip was off to a good start. All staff I dealt with where helpful, friendly and professional. The hotel location is close to everything and room views were amazing. Breakfast was buffet style while enjoying views from level 35. Bar snacks and cocktails were delicious. I loved everything about my stay and would recommend this hotel. I'll definitely be back.

I booked 4 rooms for two nights as our daughter was getting married. The staff, the service and rooms were all excellent. The only glitch was we had arranged a booking for 12 in bar 35 which was taken however when we arrived we were told it was not open until 3 pm, even though the booking was confirmed for 1230pm. After some confusion and redirection, the staff went above and beyond to ensure we were taken care of , comfortable and well fed. Thank you so much

I have stayed here many times prior to this review but every time I stay not one staff member offers or acknowledges my request for room upgrade (platinum AP member) it’s really discouraging on this stay I was disappointed as for the prices paid for grand final weekend they needed more staff I rang to report stains on my chairs in my room and for 10mins straight no one answered and no one called back either. I really like staying for the usual 5 star experience but this time was just not it.

The Sofitel is in prime location in the middle of luxury shops and restaurants, cafes, theatre and transport. Staff were welcoming and helpful. We enjoyed great drinks at the hotel bar, the rooms are spacious with beautiful views of the city. Our blinds double up with doors providing privacy and a good nights sleep. The bed is super comfortable. We loved our stay and highly recommend it.

Honestly the staff were so helpful. We were speaking at a conference, and because we were not on until 4.00 pm the staff were happy to coordinate a late check out. Breakfast was amazing and again the hospitality was next level. Room was great. Overall awesome experience.

Absolutely superb experience, couldn't have been any better. I really have to give credit to the management, this hotel is run fantastically, really professional and everything on point. The location, room and property are absolutely stunning. The views are just amazing. Noel and Alice were incredibly friendly during service at breakfast and set the day up beautifully with their warmth and efficiency. I've been back now for a 2nd time and will certainly return in the future.

As always, our stay at the Sofitel Melbourne was fantastic. We booked a night to celebrate my birthday, the room, bar and restaurant were at there usual best. Had drinks, diner and then breakfast next morning. Dining there is a great experience.

Stayed for a week in Oct 2023. Great view. Great location. I would give 5 stars to everything had there been a sauna & pool & more options at breakfast buffet & in room dining options.

@sofitelmelbourneoncollins 📍CBD Superior King with Bay Views ($469 per night with buffer breakfast) Sofitel Melbourne on Collins is a prestigious 5-star luxury hotel situated at the Paris End of Melbourne’s CBD. It effortlessly combines local influences with a touch of refined French elegance. ⭐️ Recent renovations have given the hotel’s rooms a modern makeover, complete with upscale amenities like Balmain soaps in the bathrooms. While these updates were commendable, certain design choices, for example the shower within the bathtub and the large Bose CD/Radio unit beside the bed, retained a somewhat dated appearance. Nevertheless, the spacious and comfortable bed, alongside the stunning bay views (especially during the evening) made a lasting impression. The room also featured a Nespresso coffee machine and a generously sized TV with Chromecast. In terms of amenities, the hotel lacks a swimming pool or spa but compensates with a well-equipped gym featuring massage chairs — a thoughtful addition. Dining options include @no35restaurant and @atriumbaron35. We only dined for buffet breakfast, and for $50 per person we did not see the value compared to others we have tried for the same price. 🍴 The staff were exceptionally friendly, consistently adding a touch of French to their interactions. We did notice during our stay, the majority of guests were aged 50 and above. Consequently, I would primarily recommend this establishment to individuals within that age demographic or to corporate travelers seeking an elevated experience. The hotel exclusively offers valet parking at a rate of $75 per night however if you’re after a more cost-effective parking alternative, First Parking is located just a block away. 🚘 ⭐️ 3/5 💸 $$$ Have you visited? Was disappointed with the rate charged on Sunday 22nd of $543.40 especially finding the restaurant was closed. Our room was serviced nicely each day and we enjoyed the delicious chocolates and wine. On our next visit we will certainly include a breakfast meal each day. Just for your information our accomodation was booked through FLIGHT CENTRE who charged $3,665.00 for the 7 night which I feel was an outrageous margin considering they only had to phone or fax to make the booking

From check in to check out our short stay was a pleasant experience. We normally experience resorts such as Peppers and Movenpick, so this was certainly a new adventure. The room was well appointed albeit an appliance requiring maintenance or replacement. This was brought to the attention of front of house and hopefully will be dealt with in timely manner so the next guests can make a coffee without flooding the small bench! Apart from that and not being offered late checkout or function staff not asking if we were part of the rewards program, all was satisfactory.

We enjoyed this beautiful hotel and all it has to offer. A fabulous breakfast with a view, the sophisticated Atrium Bar and the practical gym. Well located at the Paris End of Collins Street, we look forward to a future stay

I love the classic, timeless decor. Favourites: My view of the river and bay. The magnifying mirror in the bathroom. Club Sofitel. Easy valet parking. Perfect location for the lovely walk, past all of the high-end retailers, to Bourke Street Mall. Last but not least the attention from all of the staff.

  • 5/5 Elana 5 months ago on Google
Had a lovely room with a fantastic view, very comfortable bed and I loved having a lounge chair to sit on to read and watch tv. I especially enjoyed the Nespresso machine in my room, I had never used one before so it was a treat to get to try it out, the coffee was divine! The only negative is the bathroom. I found the floor quite slippery when I stepped out of the shower as it is a big step to step over the bath rim to get to the floor. I didn't fall over though, I caught myself in time.

All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was lovely, and as Gold Accor members, we appreciated the room upgrade. Views over Melbourne city are fabulous. The only thing that let the hotel down was the hot part of the breakfast. I understand that buffet breakfasts are tricky, but I did expect a bit more from this hotel.

Clean hotel in good location. Staff were attentive and lovely. Only 2 disappointments we found were in relation to housekeeping and breakfast. We returned to our room just before 4pm on the 1st day to discover room had not been serviced. Appreciate this is a hotel with a large no. of rooms, however by 4pm I would have expected our room to be tended to. The breakfast was a little disappointing. Hot food and omelette were served "warm" to even somewhat cold. Omelette was also undercooked and "jelly" in my opinion. We ordered a coffee and we had to chase it up and were finished breakfast before it appeared. We have stayed in Sofitel Wellington a few times and enjoy the stay and breakfast there, feel there is an overall better selection and an offer of breakfast from the a la cart menu is also a welcome addition.

The hotel is a perfect location to experience the theatre shows. I was there to attend a special event for Mamma Mia with an over night stay. From the time I arrived with my car, I felt welcomed. The room was clean and comfortable as I expected. My only regret was that I wasn’t able to stay longer.

First Impression: Does not live up to the advertised mark of French Luxury. I had booked a deluxe room as it was bigger than the standard room. On checking in, I found the bathroom to be too small. Smaller than the apartment that I live in today. I went back to the reception and was shown room options and I chose the corner luxury room with a fare difference. I moved my luggage and went out to explore lunch options. On coming back I could hear a loud noise from the Aircon duct which sounded like someone is using a vacuum cleaner inside my room and that was super irritating. We had to move the room again and that took at least 1.5 hr. Due to this we couldn't just crash and take a nap. Finally, we were given 2 room choices, a room that was lower category than the room we had originally booked or a junior suite. The room we moved to was a junior luxury room. This room was way more spacious given the category of the room, but again had issues. The bed comprised of 2 mattress joined to make a king bed. Both the mattresses were sagging in the centre and they were peaking in the centre. This made it very difficult to sleep. This was brought to the attention of the duty manager the next day along with other small issues that were more aesthetics than functional, but none were rectified.

Rooms look average...for you pay, you would expect something a bit more flashy. Don't get me wrong though, this does the trick- absolutely. What sets this hotel from others is the world class service- from the moment you park the car, to checking in, to having the luggage delivered to your room etc etc. staff are always on hand to help. And let us NOT forget the very handy and great location.. faultless Not recommended for anyone scared of heights

Lovely. Stayed here twice in seven days. Second time with Millesime access. The higher floor room was great but the lower floor looked into a very close building and was quite dark. The general hotel service was a little bit flippant, particularly in the bar. However, the lounge proper and the service was excellent and easily made up for it. I will be returning.

Beautiful hotel, excellent service, luxurious rooms. We had dinner and breakfast at NO35 and a drink at the Atrium bar. Waiting for a table at dinner time, despite having a reservation, was the only criticism. The breakfast buffet was wonderful, especially with included barista coffees. However the breakfast area is cramped and it was very busy. This hotel does not have a swimming pool but is centrally located with a short walk to Melbourne's top attractions.

Nice stay. However, the man at the front desk told us we didn't have to book for the rooftop bar and restaurant, but when we got there we couldn't get a seat because we were told by the lady that we needed one. Beats me though, lovely hotel, very nice and everyone keeps to their own business.

I had the best time at the Sofitel Melbourne on the weekend. The staff went above and beyond to make my experience magical. It was my partner’s birthday and they took care of her and made her feel special. The rooms are exceptional - the showers in particular were a highlight for me.

23/9/2023 Dinner for 8 and 8.30pm Took 15mins to be seated 7of the 8 cocktails arrived at 9.15pm the 8th one at 9.30pm Entrees arrived 10 mins later Finally coffee at 10.45pm 11pm bright lights turned on In restaurant with no warning. Food and drinks were nice but timing poor. If you visit this restaurant just let them know that delays in starting service are unacceptable when they kick you out at 11pm!

Quite a view of Melbourne if you get to the upper floors. Service staff were extremely helpful. A good area outside enables you to get a taxi, uber or valet. Food on floor 35 was well presented and staff were great! Prices can be a little steep, but you get what you pay for. Signage for elevator access could be improved, but asking staff is easy and they were great! Enjoy!

Hotel was beautiful and great location, however the overall service experience was not great. We waited over 2 hrs for our bags to be bought up, rang multiple times to get no clear answer. If we had known it would have taken that long we would have carried them up ourselves. The concierge were not familiar with Melbourne and could not direct us to any good places to visit and our room service was left outside our room all day. This was a disappointing experience for a 5 star place and our first trip to Melbourne.

Their customer care is just amazing, touching and absolutely exceeded my expectation for staying in 5 star hotel! The room I stayed one night was perfectly clean and tidy, and also the view from the window of my room was just splendid!! They made my day and night so special and give me unforgettable memory. Thank you so much for their excellent customer service!

One of the best hotel I’ve stayed in. Room was clean and it has a nice view of Melbourne. Bathroom was hygienic and pretty big. However, the receptionist offered free wine and we refused because we don’t drink. There were no replacement for it, not even soft drinks.

Bad experience from reception to room service. Have stayed here many times but the service recently went down hill. I was charged too much at reception for deposit (hope your credit card can handle ten times the holding fee) and then waited 90 minutes for room service only to be gas lit by the room service staff that they knocked three times to attempt delivery. They didn’t, I was in the room and heard nothing. I had to go to 7-11 for dinner and buy a sandwich. Avoid this hotel. 5 star prices, 2 star experience.

Could not rate Sofitel Melbourne more highly. Staff were all excellent especially in the Club Lounge. Room was lovely with great view. Club Lounge exceptional and we spent quite a lot of time enjoying all the perks, good breakfast, lovely afternoon tea (presentation perfect) and fantastic drinks and snacks in evening. Catered very well for my gluten free husband. He didn’t miss out at all. Best Club Lounge ever ! Fabulous views and ambiance. Located close by foot or tram to everything in Melbourne city. Can’t wait to return. Thank you 🌹🙏 Would give 10 stars if I could

Wonderful stay with a classic room overlooking the Australian Open grounds. The room was very clean with modern features and all the staff i encountered were very attentive. Never got the chance to try out the restaurant or bar on the 35th floor but it looked like a great evening

From welcoming check in to leaving this hotel was perfect for our 2 night stay in the city. Very well located in easy reach of bars, restaurants and of course all of the many spectacular places to visit in Melbourne. The staff were very friendly and polite, although things went so well we didn't need their help with anything other than how to find the parking garage, which we used for the entire stay. We opted out of the hotel breakfast due to it's high cost and our readiness to use local cafes in walking distance rather than overeat from a large display! Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again next time.

I don’t often write reviews but was compelled to do so this time around for our stay. We stayed for 2 nights with Club Sofitel access. The food, drinks and rooms were up to a high standard and the design of the rooms, although a little dated, was neat and practical. The most impressive and wonderful part of our stay was definitely the service. We enjoyed the hospitality of the Club lounge staff, in particular Emma, Mia, Cecil and Mew. Thank you so much for your kindness, generosity and general willingness to look after your guests. We also wanted to say a huge thank you to the guest services staff Marlene and Chau who made our stay that much more memorable and indulgent. Our daughter was pampered by them all and it was just a very pleasant stay. We look forward to seeing your smiling faces next time! 🙏🏻

Absolutely stunning hotel! The quality of the rooms, the room service, the thoughtful touches and amenities in the room and the very strict COVID strategies in place really let you relax and enjoy your time at the hotel and all staff are always happy to go above and beyond. The views day and night are beautiful and you can easily just relax in one of the room arm chairs and admire the view. Will definitely be returning and will try the Club access next time.

I had the pleasure of sneaking away for a weekend stay-cay at this magnificent property. Booked a fantastic deal via Luxury Escape! This hotel is absolutely stunning. From the lobby, level 35 and my room....oooh the view was just mesmerising. Great food, incredible staff and just the perfect atmosphere to loose the daily stresses. Highly recommend the breakfast too! If you meet Tan, you are in great hands. Can't wait to make another trip!

Enjoyed my stay at Sofitel (3 day 2 night)! My room, the restaurant, even the toilet at level 35 have such amazing view! The hotel also has good design and a few art displays at different corners. The staff is lovely, except there is a lady at the reception when we checked in. She did her job but wasn’t exactly ‘friendly’ or ‘welcome’. Besides that, everything was great. The location is convenient to explore the city centre. Tram is right at front. Definitely recommend this place!

We stayed one night in the superior room (city view, king bed) with our 10 month old baby. Check-in, room, bedding, bathroom and service was great. Pictured is the baby cot. Room had a combined shower/bath. Hotel style is French classic. Location at the Paris end of Collins Street was ideal for a short stay to explore cafes and restaurants.

Stayed at Sofitel to celebrate a personal achievement and had a fantastic experience. Spacious and clean rooms with great views and lots of local amenities to amount to a great night! Kudos to Terence and Mo for ensuring it was a night well spent!

I stayed at this wonderful Hotel from April to September. I have to say the staff, no matter from which area was extremely friendly and helpful. The Hotel is centrally located and from my room I had a magnificent view of the city. I’m sad to leave this beautiful location but I will be back🤗

Close to the wedding registry office so after a night out at the spectacular atrium bar and a tastefully decorated room with unsurpassed room service you can say "I do" next door then come back and do it all again. One of the finest hotels in the city.

Although we didn't stay here, felt it necessary to leave a review on the very helpful concierge staff who helped us. We were having issues finding our carpark and two friendly staff members went above and beyond to help us find where we were meant to go, even though we weren't Sofitel customers! Thanks so much to Lachlan and Mo who helped us :)

Exceptional location and service, want to give a five star award for Chloe at the front reception. Rooms are beautiful and very clean and every staff member has a smile on their face

Booked a stay here for my partner's 31st b-day staycation. From start to finish, we were looked after so well. Very much appreciate the service from reception all through to the buffet breakfast team. The upgrade and complimentary beverages were a lovely surprise. Rooms oozed of timeless elegance. Unique french doors that opened out onto the Melbourne skyline felt very European - in fact, we almost forgot we were in Melbourne! Very dependable hotel that delivers on every aspect of a 5-stat hotel experience (minus the wellness element - the gym was unavailable and there is no in-house pool). Meeci beaucoup again Sofitel team!

Lovely stay. The staff were friendly and attentive but weren't over-the-top with formality, which always makes me feel uncomfortable at upscale hotels. I stayed in one of the club rooms on the 49th floor, views were amazing and the bed was super comfy. I had afternoon tea, canapes, and breakfast in the club lounge, which was well worth it as i didnt need to dine out during my stay, but I don't eat much so this may not be worthwhile for others. The staff there always double-checked my dietary requirements, which was appreciated, and the food was very good. I'm very much looking forward to my next stay.

Located at the bottom end of Collins. Nice facilities. I attended for an event, the food was delicious and the service was good. Creme Brule was a bit lumpy and not as smooth as I've had before. Lovely venue, nice staff for the most part.

My partner and I went to Melbourne for a couple of days and I have to say that Sofitel Melbourne on Collins was the highlight of the trip. Amazing location, excellent architecture and the service was top-notch. We were exhausted from our early flight but unfortunately we didn’t think of requesting early check-in. However, Bo from Front office understood our exhaustion and not only he checked us in early, but also provided a higher room and complimentary drinks voucher. Roman from concierge helped us a lot during our stay. He went above and beyond, recommended places to visit and surprised us with an amenity. I have to say all of the staffs were very professional and helpful. Definitely will recommend and revisit.

Stayed at the Sofitel on Collins for a weekend getaway. The rooms were nice and clean. The customer service and welcome were great. The breakfast buffet had limited selection, however is above average for Australian hotel standards (standard American and Continental) plus a large variety of smoothies and other fruit/vegetable mixes. As limited as the selection was, it was done perfectly. Service was very attentive and we were asked for drinks upon sitting down which was great. It’s definitely worthwhile being an Accor plus member as you get up to 50% off your bill (so for a couple, instead of paying $100 for breakfast we only paid $50). Asked for a late checkout and on that day we were given a generous checkout time. A couple of things which could be improved on. The lifts from the higher levels tend to stop at every floor so we would need to stop at pretty much every floor before it got to the restaurant or lobby (maybe configure the lifts so that more are running during peak times?). Also, there is a weird popcorn/fart smell that is constantly lingering throughout the lifts and floors. Not sure if that is an intentional fragrance, however it did not smell opulent (maybe a fresh floral fragrance would be better suited)? Apart from that, this hotel is amazing and I would definitely recommend it.

Stayed her for a special occasion. The sofitel decorated the room beautifully to our surprise and we had an exceptional view. Staff were super courteous. Both the restaurant AND the bar surprised us with a little plate of deserts, knowing it was a special night which felt great. HIGHLY recommend the buffet breakfast - the French know their pastries!!! The only tiny thing I would recommend is better communication between reception and the restaurant as a dinner reservation went missing. They still fit us in, though, which was incredible.

The Sofitel on Collins was exceptional in customer care, professionalism and experience. This hotel is massive with plenty available internally for entertainment, as well as being in a central location, with Melbourne city easily accessible. I really appreciate their 24hr in room dining and delivery service, especially helpful for interstate or international travellers arriving during late hours overnight. I cannot praise their exceptionally friendly and caring staff enough. Absolutely incredible experience.

There's a truly remarkable ethos of customer service among all the staff. Every single member of staff I encountered - without exception - couldn't have been more willing to help me in any way they could; and their help was always smiling and cheerful...nothing grudging about it at all. Believe me, that means a very great deal when you're disabled like I am. I felt more welcome at the Sofitel Melbourne on Collins than any other hotel I've stayed in in Australia.

We had an amazing view from the 41st floor. Our room was comfortable and the staff were attentive to our needs. It was a quiet room with beautiful furnishings and a clean bathroom. Having the tram stop at the front of the hotel was very handy.

Being an Accor member has benefits - we really appreciated the room upgrade, the welcome gift and recognition of my special birthday celebration with a complimentary bottle of bubbles and a Happy Birthday platter of sweet treats. Club access ensures a quiet and calm time at start and end of day. We have been regular guests here and cannot fault the service. The location is perfect for city activities, and parking never a problem.

We only had an overnight stay - wish it was longer. Staff, food, drinks and relaxation were excellent points of our stay. Couldn't really fault anything. Even received a prestige suite upgrade and bottle of Champagne.

Our stay at the Sofitel was fabulous. The room was very spacious, the bed and pillows were so soft and comfortable, yet very supportive. All the staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. There was an issue with the tablet charging dock, that was resolved extremely quickly. With a tram stop right outside the hotel, it's also a terrific location for easy travel. The views from the hotel are also amazing

Amazing experience for our short stay in Melbourne. The rooms were amazing, as was the No 35 restaurant. Unfortunately our baby sitter fell through and we had to bring our son to our reservation but the staff were so amazing and accommodating (even if we did have to rush our delicious meals!). My only constructive piece of feedback as a Mum is having a baby change station in the bathroom facilities around the guest public areas for prior to check in and check out as there was nothing available and I had to change my son on the floor which wasn’t ideal. Thanks so much to the amazing staff for a great stay!

😐 Tried this place and my experience was not that great. The food quality is not good & taste is below average. Not sure why this place is famous when there are many restaurants that serve great Indian food with quality, quantity & price.
