We ordered on the iPad and the food and drinks took a very long time to be delivered. They did apologise and advised that they were short staffed. The gyoza’s were tasty but burnt and the tonkatsu ramen was tasty and the noodles were cooked to perfection. Some of the small bites didn’t arrive until after our main meal which was disappointing.

Second Japanese place I tried during my stay in Brisbane. Takoyaki ordered was great but the ramen was a bit salty. Ordering system using tablets in each table is convenient and easy to navigate. Service was also good, staff were very polite.

Tried Taro’s Ramen as was recommended online. Their pork tonkotsu ramen broth was rich and tasty - would recommend. The fire tonkotsu was not as rich in taste. Upgraded to large noodles and soup for $6. However only a single piece of charshu and half egg for a $25 bowl of ramen is poor value. Ponzu karaage was average. Service was a touch slow considering self service ordering and the venue was not full.

I love that you can just walk in, grab a table and begin ordering. Their electronic ordering system makes this super easy! I ordered the vegan classic ramen and the lotus chips. Both items came out very quick. I found the broth of the vegan classic ramen to be a bit underflavoured but the noodles were nice and chewy and the tofu was beautifully marinated. Generous portion sizes and friendly staff.

Choose this Japanese restaurant for dinner during my business trip. However it is a bit disappointed. The tofu is not tasty. The ramen soup is very thin. And the ramen noodles is really hard to chew. For people who has poor digestive system, I started to feel stomachache as soon as I finish the ramen. Not recommended. I can find many other good Japanese restaurants

I have the feeling that it’s gone a bi downhill since last time I visited. Waiting period was long, and the decor on the walls is quite raw. When it comes to flavour I still think the broth and the cheeks are the best in town. They used to have a less salty option in the app, but I couldn’t find it this time and I certainly felt it. They also charge an extra 10% Saturday, Sunday, which is not common and wasn’t the case before. I give it 3 stars as a wake up call. But if you are around visit them! Your ramen will be great.

This is the superior Taro’s location in Brisbane city!! In my humble opinion Went there the other day with a Japanese friend and he complimented the tsukemen. Easy ordering via screens. Will be back! Note one bill per table.

Been here a few times. The staff always seem very busy. We ordered the Fire Tonkotsu and Shoyu Ramen with kaedama and it was a bit mediocre. The Fire Tonkotsu wasn't spicy at all, but had a lot of oil. We've ordered the Vegan Ramen before and it had more depth of flavour compared to the Tonkotsu and Shoyu.

What can I say other then DELICIOUS!!! I actually found this place by accident when looking for another food place. I ordered the tonkatsu pork ramen and another perfect example of authentic delicious japanese ramen. The eggs were amazing,.noodles were firm as requested and the broth was salty in a good way but not over powering. Beautiful and rich flavoured broth. No doubt close to if not the best ramen I've had outside of Japan. Not fast foody, lovely, friendly staff with a welcoming atmosphere and ease of ordering via ipad. If I HAD to choose a down side I spose you can't really customise the order quite as much as some places however it doesn't takeaway from how good the food is here. If your near by and hungry please give it a try you won't be disappointed. I had a long trip back to CQ amd I did not need to eat for HOURS. Thankyou Taro's.

Taros may not be everyone’s favourite but it is and will always be my No.1 ❤️ I’m hyper sensitive to MSG but I never had any bad reactions from Taro’s Ramen. I had ramen elsewhere and I can definitely tell there’s msg added although some places boasted no msg added in their ramen, it more or less contained in the condiments and toppings etc. Taro has the best ingredients and amazing broth. They also provide creative monthly specials and those always keep me coming back for new surprises. I can see reviews vary a lot here on Google, I guess everyone has different taste buds. I’m totally biased not just because it’s literally round the corner of mine 😂 Taro’s also holds sentimental value to me as I met someone special at their Ascot restaurant for the first date. Although we no longer see each other ever again, I still want you to have the best ramen, just not at my table.

It was good but not the best I’ve had, the tonkotsu wasn’t as intense (watery) and for the $30 price tag (large size, extra charsui, bambo shoots and an additional half egg?) it would have more than 3 very thinly sliced pork and more than one nori square, it was filling

Japanese Noodle Water Yummy. Some advice for people reading the Google reviews, they normally have a monthly special. If you're looking for something a little different, look around and try to find it signed somewhere in the restaurant!

I got one of the monthly special ramens with extra rich broth. Broth was decent, but the noodles were so BAD. The charsiu was also not great. Overall a pretty disappointing bowl of ramen. It also cost $20 + 10%surcharge for weekends for the small size, which is a very pricey bowl of ramen.

Gyoza was alright. I paid $22.5 for this bowl of charsiu ramen. With only one piece of charsiu, and it’s flavorless. Soup is way too salty. Didn’t get the hype.

Taro's has very quickly become our go to spot for ramen in Brisbane. It has a huge amount of options for both ramen and other dishes, and more importantly if you don't or can't eat pork but still want a ramen fix they have a chicken or vegan based option that both SLAP. The food is fire, the atmosphere is great and it's fairly priced for what you get. There are multiple locations and they're all highly rated so please check them out!

One of Brisbane's best ramens around! 🍜 There's so many options including vegetarian which is very inclusive 🥰 The flavours give impact both in richness and spiciness while not being heavily oily! The moody low warm lights gives a moody atmosphere that gives off calmness.

The best vegan ramen you will find anywhere in the world. Also a bonus having great gf noodle option available. Cool vibe and easy to use touch screens with friendly staff. Love this place!

Not much to say about Taro ramen, best ramen in Brisbane. First time been to the South Brisbane restaurant. Much larger and feel more modern than the Ascot one.

We lived for years in Japan, and this is the closest thing in Australia to a Japanese ramen shop, complete with tissues as napkins. It's also incredibly customizable, which is great. No where else is more authentically Japanese.

I've rarely had bad ramen, but what stands out to me is Taro's vegan ramen. Nothing too fancy, nothing too high-effort. The soup is delicious and creamy (and they have a fire option too, if you're into that. The tonkotsu is replaced with a delicious marinated tofu that I wish I could buy in bulk. The bamboo shoots are nicely flavoured, without too much of that overwhelming bamboo smell coming through. The noodles have a home-made kind of texture, which makes me feel at home. They've got good range in drinks and sides, and though you could end up with a bowl of ramen that'll empty or wallet, they've got excellent range in toppings for your ramen - though the standard ones generally suffice.

My partner and I just walked out after spending an hour sitting at a table for absolutely nothing to come. Larger groups had arrived after us and were promptly served whilst we were ignored and as the staff said, 'forgotten'. Extremely disappointed as the one in the CBD is so good, but don't think we'll go to either again.

Outstanding food and service. The UX was well designed as well. The atmosphere is perfect and the booths are cozy private spaces. Only issue is the ordering app could use some work.

  • 2/5 Alex C. 1 year ago on Google
Service took a long time. The two drinks hadn't even come out after all the waiting and finishing the meal. Not much meat at all and a bit light on the amount of noodle for that price for ramen. Good flavour though

  • 4/5 Johnson H. 2 years ago on Google
Has the tonkatsu ramen - the broth didn’t have a pork bone taste to it, just salty. However at $16.5 it was decent and the noodles were cooked al dente. The gyozas were a bit burnt however the flavours were there.

  • 5/5 Jessica L. 2 years ago on Google
Service abit slow, and not cheap. But Shoyu ramen here quite special.

  • 2/5 Jaclyn H. 1 year ago on Google
Ordered the tonkotsu ramen. From the broth to the ajitsuke egg, it's too salty. Been in Japan for a few years and I can say this isn't up to standard unfortunately. The ramen noodles doesnt have any taste and the texture is like the packed ramen found in grocery stores. Costs $18.50 each bowl of ramen.

Food came very fast and was the perfect portion. Delicious as well, I suggest the Red Tonkotsu Ramen. Wee bit expensive for my liking but as a treat I would love to come here more often. Atmosphere was amazing, not too loud to a point where you're unable to hear your party, just enough.

My mother and I went here for lunch today, it was amazing! I haven't had Ramen this good in a long time!!! We ordered the vegan ramen and Shio ramen. The flavours of the stocks were so incredible!!! I will be coming back here again for sure! The staff were very friendly and accommodating, as my mum has an assistance dog!

Heard it was one of the best ramen places in Brisbane. It was solid. The service was somewhat slow while I was waiting I was nibbling the greens and ginger they had on the self-serve station. The staff was friendly. I had higher hopes but it did the job and was filling.

It's one of the best tonkoshu ramen I have ever tasted. The noodle n the soup base ate superb, can tell it's been carefully prepared from quality raw materials. It's really nice, I enjoyed it so much.

You can’t go wrong at Taros Ramen. Beautiful creamy Tonkotsu Pork broth, fresh noodles and perfect cooked eggs. I prefer rolled pork belly style Char - Siu but theirs is still good. I had the fire Ramen and my girlfriend had her first Tonkotsu Ramen and is now a big Ramen lover too

The best Ramen in town. Love the vegan Ramen option (though I'm not vegan). Easy to order and quick service. No split bills is a bit frustrating when you are out with friends or colleagues. If not, would deserve a 5 star rating !

The soup broth in Taro's ramen is to die for!!! Incredibly flavourful~ the noodles are cooked perfectly, not overcooked or undercooked! And no one cooks eggs perfectly like Taro does!! One downside is it isssss a tad pricey but overall amazing food!!!

Always exceptional craftsmanship and smiling, efficient service. My favourite ramen, hands down, I feel so lucky that the south Brisbane store is just down the road from home. While it is very popular and people travel for it, taros is a firm local favourite for the South Brisbane and West End community of authentic food lovers. The broth, noodles and accompaniments are absolutely delicious and made to exacting standards with care. The limited July truffle ramen special (pictured) is an annual must have extra treat.

This restaurant will be full during peak hour. They serve various soup base of ramen but personally recommend the fire tonkotsu or just normal tonkotsu soup base. And don't miss out the fried chicken. Definitely is a must to be in your menu.

Perfect experience of the noodle soup, Chasiu? Not so much. Probably the best soup in Brisbane but the Charsiu is so disappointing, no fats and no flavours. Anyway, strongly recommended.

This place has very good Ramen. Portions are good size (normal around $16, medium for extra $3.50 and large for extra $5) Taste is superb and service fast and very polite. They also offer take home Ramen (pre-cook 4 portions) for $30 and some Japanese beers and other alcohol. I will definitely come again.
