This is my favorite coffee shop in the entire city. They have the best coffee, right across from Riverdale East park great place to sit and have a picnic. They also sell beer wine and pastries. I go way out of my way just to have this coffee it is so good.

We popped by early on Mother’s Day and this place was jam packed! The line up was 15+ long, but worth it. We were lucky enough to snag a spot outside and enjoyed people watching and looking out into riverdale park. I really enjoyed my Cortado! The cinnamon bun was delicious!

A cozy coffee shop with a small patio and stunning downtown view. They have a good selection of baked goods from Black Bird. Their coffees are just okay and a bit over priced.

If you want to enjoy a good coffe with one of the best view in the city with a beautiful sunset I'll recommend to go to check this place. The location is very good because is in the middle of the east side of the Riverdale Park, just at the end of the hill. Is the best spot o relax after a long walk and enjoy a beautiful sunset. When the city take care of the Trees you can even see the CN Tower most of the time. I go there a lot to enjoy a nice coffe with some snacks and to sleep on the grass and take some sun. Is a perfect spot for a nice picnic and you'll see during the summer time a lot of people going there to enjoy a beautiful day and relax with friends and family. These guys are amazing and they have some many options coffe and snacks! I don't need to add anything else! Good job guys! Cheers 🥂

Most excellent coffee prepared by the friendliest baristas! Love this location. In a residential neighbourhood, it is hard to park right on Broadview, but get for those who live around here to grab a coffee. It's across from Riverdale Park! Highly recommend you grab a drink and snack and enjoy the views at Riverdale. Update: Currently they are not allowing indoor dining, but their patio is open. Very busy here, so expect a line out the door at peak hours.

This coffee shop has a great vibe and its proximity to Riverdale Park is a great draw. Enjoyed a cold ginger lemon drink (very refreshing) and an almond croissant (delicious!). I'd recommend sitting in the coffee shop if you're able to find space or pick up your favorite drink and hop over to Riverdale Park and soak up the sun.

Just right outside this coffee shop is a must see view. We ordered decaf latte and turmeric latte. Also we had red velvet cookie. The ambience inside the coffee shop is really nice. The baristas were also nice and accomodating. Coffee and food are really good. They also sell some merchandise here.

Honestly by far one of the best places in Toronto to grab some coffee or tea. Their London Fog is superb!!! They also have a variety of sandwiches which can help with last minute cravings. All in all an amazing place with a great location as it is right in from of Riverdale Park.

I loved it! The waiter was so patient with me (English is not my first language and I have trouble speaking it sometimes) and she even helped me choosing my beberage. She was so nice! They have great pastries and good coffee, for a good price, and if you order it to take away like I did, you can go and sit in the Riverdale Park and have a nice morning/evening. I totally recommend it!

I ordered Mocha large size. It was amazing with a view of riverdale park right in front. The sun was scorching that day as I sat on the patio. The staff was courteous enough to answer my questions. They could have warmed up the croissant easily though.

Friendly staff. Nice selection for drinks. I can imagine this place is always packed in the summer. No sweat though. Bring your treats and drinks to the other side of the street and enjoy the beautiful downtown skyline. Will definitely come back.

Our neighberhoud cafe in Riverdale. This location of Rooster Coffee House is quite simply an institution! Amazing staff, top notch coffee and snacks, and some of the best views of the Toronto skyline across the street from the store on the hills of Riverdale Park. Congrats to Shawn and her team for operating one of the best local cafes in the city!

ok you have a few seconds to guess the drink in the photo. i ordered my drink and they gave me something that looks like water and i tasted it and it even tasted like water i asked to redo it and they made a second drink which you see in the photo. So are you ready? it's the ice tea! I know it looks very refreshing! Isn’t !

A beautiful coffee shop in the best people/dog watching location! Great selection of drinks outside of coffee which is always nice to see. Tried the ham and cheese croissant and I have to say it was overly salty and the croissant got pretty mushy on the bottom, but the regular croissant was great! Wish I had the time to try out more of their baked goods because the selection was huge! They have a bunch of non-dairy options for your coffee. The flat white with soy tasted very rich and hefty, so if you’re not a huge coffee person beware - this coffee is not joking around! I think this would be a perfect spot to read or study for a few hours, or meet someone for coffee and a quick snack!

I asked if they had 35% cream, they said they didn’t which is fine. I asked if they can get in the future since this coffee shop is super close to my work & I would like to start going there on regular basis. The girl behind the counter said “we have what we have, you’re the only one that’s ever asked.” Okayyy… cool. I really don’t it’s an asinine thing to request when they have a million different bean & nut milks.

Cozy, local coffee shop to enjoy drinks and pastries. Went to get Mocha and Iced Latte on 2 occasions plus Almond Croissant and cheese pastry. All were delicious. Patio is open in winter but it's cold in December. Indoor seating was just enough but at times it becomes crowded. Amazing scenery of the city skyline to the west side. Will be even better during sunset. Get a takeout and take a stroll to Riverdale Park to enjoy the view. Great selection of over the counter coffee beans and related merchandise. Staff were very welcoming.

Coffee was tasty and most staff were friendly, but the man with glasses and the beard spilling out the side of his mask forced me to buy a mask even though I had a balaclava style jacket that tightens which completely seals off my face from the eyes down meanwhile his beard (which breaks the mask seal, look into why firefighters can’t have beards) was spilling out the side of his mask and I could practically feel his breath while he was talking to me. Honestly if my jacket looked even remotely sketchy or actually put the public at risk I wouldn’t have even bothered to respond to him, I only did as I knew he either wanted to make an extra 1.25$ Or needed to compensate for a lack of power in his life. I hope he got what ever he needed out of the altercation, and best of luck to him and his life endeavors.

I love this place! The staff is super friendly, the quality of the food & drinks is really high, the space is aesthetically pleasing, and the view from the patio is fantastic! Rooster Coffee House is a bustling hub and a local favourite in Riverdale. They are doing a great job of following health & hygiene protocols, during the pandemic, but the friendliness of the staff hasn't decreased one bit. I'm always happy to give them my business. 😊

Go! Fantastic coffee and variety to choose from! Better than the mermaid coffee (cough) and about the same cost. Lots of homemade goodies! Staff are fun and chit chatty! A rustic-modern aesthetic inside and patio with tables and umbrellas. Riverdale Park right across the street and one of the best Toronto views to enjoy!

Rooster is our local go-to and makes arguably the best lattes along King E and CorkTown area. Blackbird supplies pastries and breads, which means this is also your best spot for a quick french-style breakfast in the area. Ample window seats and wifi.

  • 5/5 Emily T. 2 years ago on Google
Very cute place to grab a coffee and a snack by the park. The bacon, cheese and spinach scone was absolutely fantastic. The city needs more of these little independent coffee shops next to green spaces. Would love to see a pop up stand on the lower Don trail this summer (maybe next to the Norse looking sculptures??). I’ll be back I’m sure.

Good coffe, delicious cookies at a fair price still i don't understand why they ask for tips as you are not really asking them to serve you or bring you coffe at the table. Plus, they do not accept cash which to me it s pretty annoying using card for a 3dollars coffe. Outside tables & chairs are availbel, were you can sit and enjoy the beautiful view of Riverdale Park.

  • 4/5 C A. 1 year ago on Google
Really beautiful interior and lots of food/drink options to choose from! There is not much indoor seating available when it is busy but many outside (which is great in summer months). The latte was just okay, prices are average for a coffee shop! Free wifi is available and is fast!

I was excited to visit Rooster Coffee House and finally see the stunning city line views that many locals have recommended. The atmosphere was lively with customers streaming in and out, which made finding a seat a hot commodity. We ordered two lattes and an apple Danish, and while the pastry was buttery and flaky with generous toppings, we were slightly disappointed with the coffee. The coffee was served in a large saucer, which unfortunately diluted the ratio of coffee and milk, resulting in a weaker flavor than we had hoped for. I would recommend this café for anyone looking for a cozy atmosphere with beautiful views, but perhaps opt for a stronger coffee option.

Great prices and tasty lattes. Tried their walnut matcha latte and pumpkin spice latte- both were delicious! They have inside seating and outside patio sets. Their wifi name and password is located inside the cafe ;)

A cute little cafe at a great location! There's not much room inside but it's neatly decorated and there's a patio outside with a good view of the hill. Not sure why, but the menu didn't have prices written on it? 🤔 We got the flat white, matcha latte with oat milk, and mocha. The flat white was pretty good, a bit on the acidic side though. Matcha latte was really good, especially with oat milk substitution! The mocha was also good and had a nice balanced chocolate flavour. They had a great selection of baked goods and I was super tempted to get one but didn't end up doing it 😔 maybe next time... Overall, a greatly cafe to try!

Fabulous spot for a coffee in the city and with a fantastic view! I have to say it’s disappointing that every time I go here they have forgotten to make my espresso bar drink and I am left waiting for 15 minutes (must be dumb luck), however when I eventually do get it coffee is delicious! Absolutely go here and absolutely tell them not to forget your drink like they have done to me 6 times!

I’ve been visiting Toronto for the past 2 weekends for work and Rooster Coffee is right around the corner. I’ve been there 2 times previously (different week) and returned after some time and Bart remembered my order perfectly. I was so impressed!! Not to mention it was a busy spot filled with light hearted individuals. If you want a fabulous Vanilla almond milk latte, you have to check out Rooster Coffee! Great coffee, great staff, free wifi 👌🏼

A great local cafe owned and operated by lovely staff. In addition to quality coffee and and unbelievable Watermelon Lemonade, they also carry a few high-quality snack items. I think the real attraction of this Rooster location is its proximity to Riverdale Park, which is across the street.

Decent enough coffee, but disgraceful disregard for people. Went in just now to get coffees. My daughter had to use the bathroom and they refused. I know it's a pandemic, but to refuse an 8 year old girl who has to go? Literally everything is locked and closed and the only bathroom around and they won't let her use it. I'll never be back. You should be ashamed of this conduct, whoever the owner is.

Atomic Rooster makes a really nice smooth espresso using a Moka pot (not real espresso I know but as close as you can get without a machine). Great service, and one of the best places to sit and enjoy a quiet moment observing the city skyline. FYI the resident squirrel Charles would love a peice of any pastry you have.

Open at 7am, this is a great place to get a morning drink. They have drinks like honey ginger latte and other interesting combinations. They also have an assortment of baked goods. I've bought their croissants and enjoyed them. Because of Covid their bathroom is closed but there is a public one in a near by park

2020.09.17. The afternoon walk was to Rooster Coffee House. It was a great 40min going and another 40min walk back. I had my regular hot Americano. Very nice coffee. We had to watch the sunset from the park across the street. The Toronto skyline looked amazing. We were there pass 6pm.

A wonderful neighborhood coffee house operating (now: summer 2020) with strict covid-19 safety protocols. Across from a massive Don River park area with benches and sloped grass seating area. Close to the walking/bike bridge over the Don River to the Riverdale Farm in Cabbage Town. Great Coffee and friendly (caring) staff.

Exceptional service by the barista. I had a turmeric apple cider that was definitely amazing. He added cinnamon to mine and made sure I liked it after too. It’s those small thoughtful things that make all the difference. Large selection of gluten free/vegan treats compared to a lot of cafes. 👌🏼🙏🏼🍁

Great selection of unique drinks and flavours - the walnut matcha tea latté is a classic, along with the toasty almond latté. The seasonal specials are very popular, and there is a wide variety of baked goods and snacks - many of which are gluten-free and/or vegan. Worth checking out along the Danforth and strolling nearby to get some great views of the Toronto skyline!
