Great skating experience at Mel Lastman Square. We loved the music they played, makes you want to dance on the ice. The staff are so well organized when you enter and there are so many benches to put on your skates. Lots of signage posted throughout the area as you enter on one side and exist on another. We parked on the street, a few minute walk to the rink.

Went for the Korean festival. The place is great for events. It’s accessible by TTC, has great cafes around it and can handle a lot of footfall.

Nice place for outdoor staking in winter. There’re branches for people to sit and change skates. If you need washroom, just visit the central library.

Good size pleasure rink, gets busy on weekends but you can still enjoy a good skate. They play music during the hours that it's open. It's also surrounded by restaurants so you can go eat after a good skate, and it's also a good place for a date. The staff keep the ice in good condition, the zamboni comes out every 2 hours to allow the people enjoy their skateting time.

A good Christmas Fair. Better than expected. There were food options from all over the world. There were well decorated areas for clicking pics and fireplaces to warm yourself up. It is a good place to spend a few hours at. Very near to North York or the Finch Subway Stations. There are a few performers like the Santa, Fairy, the Elvis Presley impersonator, etc.

Fun little rink. Parking is $2.50 every half hour just a minute walk away. They even maintain the ice with a Zamboni. Had a good time!

What a charming and beautiful little escape in the middle of North York. Having go slightly below street level allows the noise to be drowned out and you can enjoy the peace and quiet. We watched a peace ceremony that was a lot of fun there and didn't cost us anything.

Well maintained ice rink, no booking needed. Overall kids and youth friendly. Could be busy during holidays and weekends, but not too crowded during our visits.

Beautiful market, it was very cold on the day that I chose to go. But it’s nice to go with a partner or family or even friends, many shops to look at. Please don’t hesitate to purchase from the shops as the vendors stand in the bitter cold, so please don’t shy away from purchasing from them, the ice rink was beautiful to watch, a must try for beginners. There was decent crowd and overall it was quite pleasant. I would say if you enjoy the little things in life, you must check this place out, it’s literally a minute walking distance from North York Center subway station.

Fun place, if you go to a nearby high school you can find friends here after school. It's fun if you go here with no actual plan in mind and see a festival happening, sometimes there's really good deals. There's nothing bad about this place, I guess you could complain that it's loud when there's a festival. Recommend going here during a bit late in the evening/afternoon during the winter, bring a speaker (that isn't too loud) and play some music while you skate

It used to be my favourite rink. I just came from the rink on November 29. The ice was bumpy. For 1,5 hours i did not see any staff, no zambony. Some people were playing hockey. Is that allowed? The other group was smoking right on the rink.

A great spot to visit in North York. Most evenings there are very pleasant street performances which are suitable for any taste. Lots of places nearby from simple refreshments to full on meals. Parking is easily available. Pets, kids, seniors are all welcome here!

It’s summer at Mel Lastman Square! Farmer’s markets, sitting out under the shady trees, babies in strollers, walking dogs in floppy hats and sunshades

Had plenty of fun in this space! Went downstairs (close to starbucks) for a portrait during spring with the cherry blossoms and tulips planted. It was breathtaking and amazing🥰🥰

The Square was once a wonderful place to visit. You would see young kids learning to bike ride. There are plenty of places to sit in the sun. I met some truly wonderful people while sitting outside at Starbucks. Unfortunately, with homeless shelters having been opened in the area, the square is now populated with dangerous and unstable people. I know plenty of people who now avoid the square entirely. I’m one of them.

Nice little rink in a cool part of North York. Parking isn't too much of a hassle despite being on Yonge Street. Lots of restaurants nearby. Can get busy, and when it does, time for a hot chocolate break!

There is Korean Festival which includes so many fun events such as Squid games, kpop dance, music performances, free to try Hanbok costumes and k-foods and drinks. Many of places include free games and prices. I won dalgona kits, secret hidden drink cocktail, $10 restorant coupon, cute taekon girl blanket, Polaroid photo and sticker pictures :) I totally enjoyed my days 😊 I give huge appreciation to MCs, performers, and supporters

A quiet oasis in the middle of one of Toronto's downtowns. Once known as Downtown North York, the Square at its heart is a beautiful, peaceful place.

There are plenty of parts that make up this square and plenty of activities that take place in this square which make it a great place to be. In the summer there is a farmer's market on Thursdays and events just about every weekend from movies to music to food. Did you know that there are two concrete table tennis tables here for your free use? Bring your own paddle and balls and have a laugh or two. Then relax by the fountain along Yonge St and listen to the sound of the running water or how about at the fountain at the lower level by the reflecting pool? There is a stage and surrounding amphitheatre seating for performances. Tree lined sidewalks with benches and tables are waiting for you to enjoy your lunch at during the work week. There are little grassy areas and a small flower garden too. North York Civic Centre and the incredible North York Central Library surround part of the square. Tucked behind the library is the Douglas Snow Aquatic Centre. Food trucks and restaurants abound in the area but I'll throw out a special mention for truck Taste of the Tropics for its jerk chicken meal. The large size which typically comes with two thighs and a drumstick, with rice and beans, and a side of either macaroni or cole slaw is absolutely delicious and satisfies, don't forget a dash of One Drop pepper sauce. For the price (you can use credit/debit cards), it is one of the very best meal deals you can find in the city and the sweet lady in the truck and her cook have built a nice commumity of lunch people here. In winter the reflecting pond becomes a great spot for skating. Enjoy!

One of Toronto's Main and Significant hot spots, especially during covid, where many people gather or spend their leisures. The city makes sure to keep the place clean of litter and any accumulation of debris. Occupatants of the park arent anything too out of the ordinary. Torontonians that are young and old come to enjoy both the community and the amenities nearby. One thing I wish is to remove some of the existing and old graffiti on the tables and walls

This is always my go-to place to chill. Such a good park. Often time I see different events happening as well.

One of my favourite spots to relax at with a Starbucks in my hand, with its mix of trees and pleasant design of a public space. Plus its mere steps away from a great group of eateries and shops. This year 2021, the park staff have added more outdoor tables for your consideration. There's always a healthy mix of pedestrians who stop to relax making it feel alive! Watch for community events. Subway, restroom in mall, lower level of 5140 Yonge st (N. York Center). Square is wheelchair accessible.

Went to the square to attend the cultura event, to celebrate the local cultures where food trucks were available and a movie, breadwinner, was shown. The square is a nice isolated piece of light greenery from the Toronto feel. It has plenty of seating and has a design suitable to movie screenings or performances. Though it lacks plenty of portable water sources. Parking is not free around it but can be done over at Empress or Hollywood and one can walk to the park.

Located in North York Civic Centre, this public square once housed the local government for the City of North York and now is the official site of the traditional Canada Day celebrations for the City of Toronto. There is lots to do and see from skating to shopping in the farmers market in the summer. This is a well laid out public square that also houses a performance stage that houses live acts every Friday during the warmer months

Poorly maintained and designed to project an absolutely oppressive mood. This is a pretty shameful display for a place that used to be the center of a major city. Either actually get some people to maintain it or just turn it into another condo. Right now it's an eyesore with little redeeming value.

Nice rink and wasn't too crowded on a weekday around 3pm. Zamboni came around 3:30pm... Great ice skating experience and crowd is decent of all ages. Will definite return!

I worked security overnight here a few times to watch music equipment the night before the jazz music festival. During the nighttime in the summer the place is infested with rats literally everywhere, luckily I was in my car. You will never see anyone hanging out here in the summer during nighttime, for good reason.

Lovely rink! Ice is a bit rough at times but is normal for an outdoor rink. Really great for a family activity for the winter. Is not busy on weekdays and close to alot of food all around it. Washrooms are open too!

I couldn't really get the scope of this place because I went during the Toronto Korean Festival which had a lot of people. The Plaza looks like it can hold a lot of people and I believe it's also a farmer's market during the day.
