Perhaps it's the higher elevation in Tulcea to enjoy the views over the city and river.

The Monument to the Heroes of the War of Independence in Tulcea is truly a significant piece of history and art. Located on Colnicul Hora, the monument commemorates the courage and sacrifice of the Romanian people in the fight for independence. The initiative of the League for the Preservation of Dobrogea and the contribution of the sculptors George Vasilescu and Cristea Grosu ensured that this monument remains a symbol of bravery and determination. It is impressive how, even after destruction and reconstruction, the monument has preserved its original form and spirit, serving as a reminder of an important chapter in Romania's history.

It was very windy, with a view of a garbage plant. There is a museum, but it was already closed. Entrance to the monument is free

Well worth the climb - even in 31degeee heat! The views from the top are absolutely spectacular. Don't miss the archaeological museum whilst your there (it's just next door)

Good place to have a fabulous panorama of Tulcea City and its surroundings, including one of the Danube River arms. After climbing the stairs to the monument you are rewarded also with a high power binocular mounted on the corner with the best view. It's always windy up there, even in the hottest summer days. The stairs are not tall and can be used for light exercise.

An easy walk from the city. A quiet peaceful place with excellent views over Tulcea and surrounding area. A good photo opportunity at sunrise/sunset.

One 🕜 of the best location from Tulcea city. You can view the beautiful 😍❤️ panorama of Danube and city 🌆. From this location you can see 🙈 the Ismail city. Is in Ucraina. But unfortunately is war in that area, and some time smocked surfaces you can see 🙈 with your ice. All the times when you want to visit Tulcea don't forget to visit Monument Area.
