A good one. Grand cenatophs of Hindu Kings. Its not where their bodies are cremated. It is a structure built in remembrance once a member in Royal family died

Ahar Cenotaphs, commonly known as the royal cremation ground is a legacy of the Mewar Kingdom built over 400 years ago. There are about nineteen rulers of the Mewar dynasty cremated in this glorious ground. The last cenotaph was constructed for the cremation of Maharana Bhagwat Singh in 2004

A beautiful place which is hidden from most of the tourist visiting Udaipur. In my opinion people with interest in History must visit this site. One can find more than 200 Royal Cenotaphs. The biggest and most magnificent cenotaph is that of Maharana Fateh Singh of Mewar. Their is no entry fee. A person loving peace and tranquility must visit and feel the silence within. This site is of Royal Family members of Mewar Rajgarana.

The Royal Cenotaphs are in ruins. If these were in Rome, the government would take in millions of Euros from tourists. This is with the Udaipur Royal family.

Beautiful and historical place. It's very impressive and the architecture is just mesmerizing. I found amazing how there were no tourists at all, when if properly promoted could be one of the most important attractions of Udaipur. The entrance is free. It opens at 10 and closes at 4. We had the chance to talk to the guard, who explained us the history of the place, and the meaning of the cenotaphs. We tipped him 100 INR for his courtesy and help. Despite it not being necessary, I'd recommend it to thank him, as he's a really nice and respectful man. Photography with professional cameras not allowed, but allowed with smartphones.

It was a good place for architecture and photography lovers ..It's a place where the royal family make Chatri for their family after their death. No entry ticket as it's not a tourist spot. Any one can visit this place, but before entering any chatri you have to remove your shoes..One can visit this place in Udaipur when going towards Chittorgarh. There are numerous chatris of different shape and size. There is a small pond also near the entrance where you can see fishes. Personally I wanna say that if you are a tourist and has come to visit Udaipur, you should come here too..It's a beautiful place..

The Ahar Cenotaphs are a group of cenotaphs located around 2-3km away from main city of Udaipur. The place contains more than 250 cenotaphs of the Maharanas of Mewar. This place is not maintained by the Government. It is not that famous tourism spot in Udaipur. There was no other tourists. There are beautiful small temples with traditional Rajasthani domes and a very traditional designed pool. The temples are curated and curved with intricate and artistic designs. There are no entry fees but we gave the guard some money as he explained us the details. A must visit place and should be promoted as a Tourist destination. As a visitor, it's our responsibility to keep the surrounding clean and garbage free. I

The Ahar Cenotaphs are a group of cenotaphs located in Ahar, Rajasthan, about 2 km east of Udaipur, in Rajasthan, India. The site contains more than 250 cenotaphs of the Maharajas of Mewar  that were built over approximately 350 years. There are 19 chhatris  that commemorate the 19 maharajas who were cremated here. The group of cenotaphs is also known as the Mahasati. Aahar village is located two miles east of the old city of Udaipur, which is now a mohalla of Greater Udaipur. Aahar was the capital of Guhilot before Chittorgarh.

With many things to do in Udaipur, this would certainly not be in the top of the list. However a quite place and not many tourist visiting this one. No Entry fees and unlike other tourist places you can take your car here. And Yes, Pictures come really great in here, so best of luck.

Their products seems to be expensive even though they're displaying many varieties of silk sarees namely banana silk, coconut silk, bamboo silk etc. Surprisingly, many cab drivers are directing to this place when you say you want to go to Hathi Pole or Bapu Bazaar saying these are fairly priced and good quality while compared to the ones previously said. Can comment on the quality of the product after a few months!

Visited Dec 2023. When I got here I found that this place is no longer open to visitors. Sad. It is possible to see/photograph some of the cenotaphs thru the gate and the fence (along the road, north). But it is better to go to Gangu Kund located next to this place. From there one can see quite a few of the cenotaphs. Pics attached.

HIGHLY OVERPRICED. Fake Promises made... Fake Bills generated... Don’t BUY, ridiculously High Prices... at least 3 times of what you can get at other outlets / local market. Even the Bill generated by them is not valid for any consumer complaints / redressal... They’re committing broad daylight fraud in the name of supporting local craftsmen... Save your hard money from this loot shop...

It's a one of the most beautiful place of udaipur, however it is not a typical tourist place, it is rather an emotional and respectful place where one should not behave like a tourist. Basically it is a royal cemetery. Thus the aura of this place is more gloomy and peaceful. Not for entertainment or fun. However the architecture is spectacular.

The Ahar Cenotaphs are a monumental group of cenotaphs commemorating the Kings of Merwar. The cenotaphs are of differing sizes. The smaller ones look like little more than pavilions, while the larger ones still look like large pavilions, but combine the cenotaph and function as a Hindu temple. The place looks very beautiful, if a not that well maintained. Most of the cenotaphs are in okay condition. The largest ones are in good condition though. Ahar is about 4km from the centre of Udaipur, but it’s worth coming out as the complex is very photogenic.

Udaipur is a brilliant city , but when you get there , you discover that the places to see are limited , there is much to see yet the places are a few , but then there is this place. The Royal cenotaphs contains more than 250 cenotaphs of the maharajas of Mewar that were built over approximately 350 years. If you are one of those people who love old structures , quiet yet spooky places , then this place is a must visit.

(Translated by Google) Such a temple / stupa complex would probably lead us to number 1 in Europe for sightseeing in a city. Unfortunately, nobody is interested here. We were the only ones who walked around the whole large area for about 1 hour. Beautiful buildings - so many that you can feel like Tomb Raider. Unfortunately no information boards and unfortunately a lot of garbage. Still our recommendation for a visit (Original) Eine solche Tempel / Stupaanlage würde wohl bei uns in Europa zu Platz 1 der Sehenswürdigkeiten in einer Stadt führen. Hier interessiert sich leider keiner dafür. Wir waren die einzigen die ca. 1 Stunde durch das ganze große Gelände gelaufen sind. It's an amazing and thrilling experience to see it's beauty from the outside. I am fortunate enough to found a room to stay near to this place at a walkable distance. It's located in the part of the city and easily accessible and one can see the marvellous sculptures and the way how they will built.
