Whether the enchantment was from the quality of the food or the first sit down restaurant experience in the past two years is hard to say - perhaps both. The food is excellent and worth the (slightly higher than order up) price. The spring rolls are the best I've ever had, period. One of owners spoke humbly of the spring roll wrapping, but just as much magic is found within. Very highly recommended for the food robots alone (are they going to tax those things like people, or what?!). What a wonderful experience.

The restaurant has a lovely tropical-feeling atmosphere! We were warmly greeted! I really enjoyed my dinner! I love the crunchiness and spiciness of the Shoo Share Salad! For me this dish is a must as it is so unique with the spicy tea leaves! I did share it with the three other people in my group. We also shared the Burmese Spring Rolls. For my entree I had the Punn They Noodles with chicken! I loved the sweet and sour flavors. I ended my meal sharing some mango ice cream. Our server was helpful in describing the menu options. It was fun to have a server robot deliver your labeled food! I did not feel short changed as our server checked in on us often! I love trying different cuisines and I will definitely visit again.

Ummm, so this is best food I've ever had? In all of my 27 years on this earth, I've tried quite a few dishes. I've been abroad to Europe and south east Asia. I lived in Atlanta for many years and tried all sorts of international cuisines there as well. No food has topped this though, this food is heavenly. My girlfriend and I went and we got the chicken mango curry and the original beef curry they sold at their food truck. Hoo boy, I cannot believe how good these were. When we took our first bites our eyes locked in innocent excitement. Insanely good. I read a couple non-five star reviews to see why the heck this restaurant isn't rated higher than a 4.7. A couple people said the portions were small (we ended up taking home a small lunch sized meal because they gave us so much) and a few others said the salads weren't the best. My personal opinion is that you shouldn't even look at the salads and go straight for the curry page. They have some vegan curries which I'm sure are amazing, get that instead of a salad. Anyway, you should go here if you can. The atmosphere is really welcoming and unique, and the service is pleseant (and you get served by a little robot!) It's the best restaurant in the world. The picture isn't the best because we forgot about everything but how good the food was. We ended up remembering ourselves after we ate most of the stuff, and even then I didn't have the forethought to take a picture of just the plates. So I cropped myself out of the picture we took

This place is a MUST GO for me from now on. I don’t even know where to start, the atmosphere was incredible. Welcoming, warm, relaxing and a bit romantic. The service could not have been better. I walked in new to the city and felt like I left with new friends. Our hostess and the chef were both so kind and considerate. Made sure my friend and I had everything we needed (utensils/bags/etc since we were traveling), chatted with us about our trips and what was in the area, and offered to let us stay at a table when it was time for us to leave and rain had cut loose. And of course the food. Oh. My. God. Hands down best food I have had in the city thus far. Amazing. The flavor, portion size, price, and options were all so, so good. Absolutely would recommend to a friend and will definitely go back.

Foods are yummy and flavorful, green tea salad is creative but I really couldn’t taste any green tea flavor. Noodle was good, very flavorful and totally covered by the sauce. But the potion is a little bit small. They were good, just not very impressive.

We travel, pretty frequently, and food is always a major part of our spending. This was absolutely amazing, down to the last detail. Few places, can make you forget that you're in a major city and get lost in the atmosphere... but this place did for us. We still talk about how succulent the meat was, and have never had anything like it.

Tea leaf salad had a really satisfying crunch factor to it! I was excited to try their chickpea tofu curry too, but found it way too salty.

Everything we ordered was amazing but I fell in love with the Mango Chicken! Would definitely recommend it! The atmosphere was nice. It’s a bit small but it wasn’t crowded when we went so it wasn’t an issue. The robot delivering your food was cute.

Fasting morning for Dr appointment had me ready for food :) Never had Burmese before and this place was close to an appointment so decided to give it a shot. I am happy to report the Samosa and Garlic Noodle w/tofu and veggie broth cup has inspired me to continue my journey of discovery. The service, chill vibe & house music, atmosphere, and the food are stellar. I can not wait to bring my family here!

Incredible food. Unique and tasty drinks. Excellent service. My friend and I ordered the following dishes and had leftovers: samosas, shoo share tea leaf salad, Jackfruit curry, and the Kyay oh noodles. For dessert we had the mango ice cream. My favorite dish was the tea leaf salad. We ordered the spicy version and it did not disappoint. Lovely flavors and textures. You must try it. Everything was great. We probably wouldn't get the jackfruit curry again. It wasn't bad, just didn't stand out like the other dishes. Our server was very helpful and friendly. The food delivery robot was a wonderful treat. We will be back.

Great restaurant, went there twice on our short stay in Portland. Very friendly service, they have gluten friendly options and everything for a very good price. The coconut curry, mango curry and beers were excellent. Our kids loved the robot that served you too

I’ve never seen a Burmese place before. Loved this quaint little restaurant! Great decor and great service. They seated us right before closing. Unfortunately there weren’t indoor spots to experience their robot server, but sitting outside was still nice on a warm day. Tried the jackfruit curry. Great alternative to meaty dishes. The texture is like slow cooked meat, without the grease and the heaviness. It was a tad on the sour side, but I still enjoyed it with a nice pot of jasmine tea. The noodles were also good.

I live in Seattle but I was down in Portland for a weekend and my friend recommended Burma Joy so we went there for dinner. The food is amazing, great service and robots serve you your food and drinks! The Burmese tea with coconut milk (I'm non-dairy) is so delicious and the best milk tea I've ever had! I'm also happy they even have a non-dairy option. My friend and I ordered the tea leaf salad, beef curry and a noodle soup dish. The salad was so good! The curry was my favorite, although a little on the saltier side. However, that did not deter me from going back the next night for dinner again by myself, in which I tried the tea leaf rice and tea leaf chicken curry. Again, the curry was a bit too salty for me but on my third visit (a different weekend), I ordered the coconut beef curry and that was a great balance of flavors. The coconut jelly dessert is also delicious.

Went here on a weekday night for dinner looking at the reviews. I had always wanted to try Burmese cuisine and gave this one a try! Was not disappointed but not sure if I would visit again. The place is full of plants and gave a nice cozy vibe. We ordered the appetizer - samosa and it was good (just too oily and cold) The coconut noodles’ broth was flavourful and thick. Noodles were made of wheat. The Punn They noodles were okish but the chicken had some smell. Overall, the food was good but very cold. They should have served it hot (at least the noodles) we ordered the mango cocktail (Mandalaya Sunset) which was strong but thin. I wished the consistency was more of a cocktail with more ice and mango bits. The waitress was rude. The mango ice cream was the BEST part!! Ambience - 5/5 Food - 3/5 Drinks - 2/5

So so so good. The food is excellent. The staff is helpful, happy, and prompt. The robots are an added bit of fun. Highly recommend!

On a cold night we were greeted with friendly staff. Such a cute & warm restaurant serving delicious food. Ordered delicious drinks and Papawadi Coconut Beef Curry Sweet Pumpkin Curry Garlic Noodles (with choice of chicken vs tofu) Green Tea Leaf Salad (1) Samosa by piece I don't think I need to list our order since I'm sure it is all delicious, but here it is. They also have 2 robot serving trays which our toddler loved to observe. Each curry comes with a plate of rice which was perfect for 2 people. Plus: On a Saturday night did not have to make reservations for 4 adults & a toddler (although I'm sure the restaurant would appreciate it). Thankful since our schedule is sometimes unpredictable with a toddler.

We showed up to Top Burmese after failing to make a reservation at another spot near by… and I am so HAPPY our original plans fell through. Our time at Top Burmese was delicious and fun!! The food was incredible. Our group shared the samosas (wish I could have had them all to myself - hehe) I devoured the Coco Beef Curry I ordered, my partner ordered the tea leaf salad - and ended up being too spicy for him. I enjoyed the heat - but I would say if you don’t like spicy food, don’t recommend the tea leaf salad. The robots and the drinks made the experience fun and memorable. I’m still talking about it weeks later and recommending to my friends :)

Absolutely Fabulous! My friend and I shared Green Tea Leaf Salad, I had Tea Leaf Jade Rice, and tried my friend's Garlic Noodles - everything was fresh, totally delicious, and filling. The host and server were warm and friendly, and the Robot - oh, the adorable Robot server! I already have plans to go back next week and introduce this place to another friend of mine. Oh, so grateful to the friend who suggested we try this place!

not knowing what to expect… lunch started with a super informed wait person and a welcoming host. i had the majesty noodles and the grass jelly tea. the bowl of noodles had a super rich broth, full of small pieces of chicken, quail eggs, fish balls, and dried press tofu with fresh red onions and veg to balance it out with just enough noodles to make the soup a perfect meal. the grass jelly was pleasantly sweet and is a cross between a drink and a dessert. it’s a taste from my childhood, and very worth trying for the uninitiated.
