It was the first time I was in Athens and I was welcomed with great love! The rooms were clean and I also liked how they arranged all those big things in such a small space. I also liked that we had a huge parking lot Near the hotel. I recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to discover Athena.🤗

It is a great 2* hotel. The rooms are clean, no shower curtain though. Breakfast room too small, service very slow. Neighbourhood is just horrible but on the bright side, very close to Omonia square. About 15 minutes walk to Monastiraki. You can find cheaper Airbnbs closer to the center and in better neighbourhoods.

Nice hotel, but its in a neighbourhood "infested" with drug addicts. They are all around the hotel but you shold not be worrying, just ignore them.Breakfast in the hotel is nice and the staff is very very helpful.Ask for directions where to go and which streets to use is you are returnig to the hotel after the night comes down. There is a police station near by 200 meters from the hotel so no worries. Its 15 minutes walk from the center.Hope situation will become better in the future with the addicts since this is quite a good hotel. The parking is across the street and its 7 euro per night. As a bonus, some pictures from the balcony 7th floor.

We stayed at athens' choice, and the staff was amazing ,super friendly they were helpful, the location is very close to centre, just a couple of minutes walk from omonia Square, and 15 minutes walk to monastiraki Square, the room was ok but have big balcony with city view, 24hr help desk, the area very rough but not dangerous at all, and safe

Hotel is ok. Small rooms, tiny bathroom, no shower curtain. But AC and small fridge in the room. Front desk staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast staff is very rude. First time ever I was literally thrown out of breakfast at a hotel. It ends at 10 and I was still eating at 10:05... Location is horrible. Very bad neighbourhood. Dirty, smells like a public toilet everywhere and a lot of poverty and drugs. Even drug needles in the streets around the hotel. So in short: hotel itself basic but ok. Neighbourhood not good at all.

I don’t know where the people, who claim this place is clean, actually stayed, but it’s probably not been this hotel. The wifi is a joke, you can hear everything from outside and the other rooms. I won’t discuss the area, sadly things like these are hard to avoid, just watch out for syringes when wearing open toe shoes, cause there’s a lot of them lying in the streets around. We’ve only stayed in two star hotels on this trip through mainland greece (also a different one in Athens, all of them in similar price range) but all of them had a lot higher standards than this one. The only good thing is that the employees are friendly & very helpful, it’s just a shame that everything else isn’t that nice.

The hotel is excellent. Clean, nice breakfast. Kind staff. Just stay on side of Omonia square and you will be fine.

Athens Choice Hotel was a great place to stay! If you're looking for something smaller yet really nice I recommend this place. The service was also great, the employees at the front desk were super nice. I felt bad that I didn't speak any Greek and was worried this would be an issue but they were super helpful and kind. This hotel is close to everything you want to see within Athens, by foot and metro. I am a big walker so this place was great for that. Breakfast was also very yummy! ευχαριστώ! :)

Location was ok, the issue is with the surrounding areas where you can see drug addicts all day long. Great hotel located in the wrong place. Great service, kind and gentle.

I had a wonderful stay at Athens Choice Hotel. The staff were kind and generous with their time, knowledge, and expertise. As a solo female traveller, I was a little nervous after booking and reading the reviews, knowing I was arriving to the hostel at 2am. However, letting the hotel know my ETA in advance helped, as did just pretending to speak on my phone when I walked from the bus stop to the hotel which is something I do in my own city if I happen to be out late, alone in a dodgy area which is rare but happens. My experience was far from what others described here. The park was empty every time I saw it. I also went to bed early, having spent all day exploring the incredible city of Athens. The hotel is a fantasic location in terms of access to transportation, and in walking distance, you have the old market and the Acropolis. And there's a great little coffee shop just across from the hotel! Thanks, Athens Choice! I had a great time and can't wait to come back.

I was there only for one night, but for that it was more than ok. Very nice and friendly personal at the reception. The room was clean, the bathroom small but ok. The bed was good too. If you expect some 5 star hotel things, you have to book a 5 star hotel. Only 1 star minus because of the noise arround. (a park next to the hotel full of junkies, homeless and prostitudes. But they didn`t notice normal people and leave them their freedom. Police is always on spot there)

The room was very nice, recently renovated with a new AC and a nice bathroom. Only issue is there not enough space for a table/workstation.

Near Omonia square, but not so nice neighborhood full of drug users, homeless and migrants. Police is near, but doing nothing. Hotel as hotel is very clean. There is no wall plug nor shelf in bathroom.

Basic but comfortable rooms with a fridge and small balcony. Excellent service and a decent continental breakfast in the morning.

Pros: nice service, very modest complimentary breakfast, clean, close to metro station Cons: shady neighborhood, small room, very small bathroom, broken things - door handle, toilet water button, uncomfortable bedsheets, thin walls, loud streets Overall, for this price it is OK, but if you want more comfort, pick something else.

Missing a lot of things like electric kettle, sleepers. Also the bathroom was really small with no door or curtains on the shower so all the time the whole bathroom was wet

Nice for what it is. The location is in a shady area but there is a police station at the end of the block.

Reception, clean rooms with nice bathroom with shower. Huge breakfast for 5 EUR. Location close to metro station, market and city center. Cons: lot of shady guys and drug addicts on the street. View on car parking.

There are a lot of homeless people in the neighbourhood but the hotel is conviniently located near Omonia subway station. Rooms are small, but the staff is very nice and helpful. I recommend this place but only for a short stay in Athens.

The hotel is located in a very dangerous area and it is not recommended to be outside after 10 pm. In the room, the air condition takes time to get started, hot water also takes time to come in the shower in the morning. The breakfast is continental but they do not serve scrambled eggs, the juice is not fresh and there are no cakes. There are better hotels for the same money.

The employees are very nice, the rooms are good and the breakfast is acceptable. The only think I didn't like was the location and Internet. The Internet for me was the worst part

Good Location, Nice Breakfast, the only problem it's the size of the rooms and not place to put clothes

Let me just begin that if this hotel was in a different area of town it would've been perfect for the price. Shower was great, breakfast was great, the staff was so helpful and accommodating. But I wish reviews had been more honest with how dangerous the area is. While we felt safe inside the hotel, we were kept up all night by the neighborhood noises, if you know what I am saying. Prepare to see things you've never seen before... It was super scary and we would've much rather payed more money to stay in a safer area. After our initial walk to the hotel from the metro, we decided it was safer to take an Uber so we didn't have to walk on the street where we felt unsafe. Anyways, great staff and hotel

Great hotel for a short stay in Athens. Fantastic service at the reception (Ross), spacious room with all appliances fully functioning. Short walk to the metro. Wouldn’t walk home past 10pm. Taxis are very reasonable.

The hotel was clean, simple, and warm. The breakfast buffet was continental which was fine for the price paid. However, I felt that the area was unsafe so, as a solo traveller, I made sure to return to the hotel in daylight!

Pros: Location is good for tram and bus connection, friendly staff . Worth for breakfast. Personally I like it Come : Weird area , small bathroom, no noise cancellation between the walls ,no fridge

Athens choice hotel was nice, even though we were there just for 1 night. Everything went as expected. Parking house across the street for 7 € for 24 hours. The room was renewed with a nice bath and a bedroom with a balcony. To the city center, it was about 15 mins of walk. The location is not that best, cuz the closest streets were full of homeless people, so u need to know, which way to go and stay with other people.

Lovely double room Great service. I arrived early and they had cleaned enough rooms already from the checked out guests to accommodate early. I was so tired when I arrived and fell asleep on the sofa near the reception but they were very kind. Got a lovely double room with a mini fridge, wardrobe, TV, table desk, double bed, shower, toilet, sink with toilet paper, shower gel and towels. There is a mirror over the sink and a large one in the room. Plug points are two-pin, with one located on either side of the bed above the bedside cabinets. There is air conditioning, a heater and a large window that leads to a small balcony in the room. My room is on the 7th floor and they have 2 working lifts that can fit maybe one or two people. The area is very central, only 2 stops away on the metro from Syntagma square, near Omonia. It is a bit noisy outside at night during the week but this means you can find somewhere to get a snack if you get hungry in the evening. The nearest McDonalds is 0.8 miles away, about 20 minutes walk in Syntagma opposite Syntagma square. The hostel and room are great value for money overall especially since the booking (via booking.com) includes breakfast! Breakfast - variety of breads, cheeses, chocolate spread, butter, jam, sausages, ham, eggs, olives, apples, orange squash from the machine, hot drinks from the machine including coffees and hot chocolate and 3 different cereals with milk. Sugar, salt and pepper can be found at one of ~10/11 tables that each seat 4 people. There is a bar downstairs next to the reception. I am not sure of the opening hours though. There are sofas opposite the bar and a small amount of seating outside near the front entrance. Overall lovely hotel for a solo female traveller and completely safe, including walking around at night in the city.

Hotel is nice, the staff is nice, but the location is horrible. Is central, but there are a lot of strange people, much worse than you can imagine, on the streets. We were afraid to go outside atfer dark.

Hotel is nice, simple but good breakfast, showers and the staff are very welcoming. The only thing is the area, a lot of homeless around but also a lot of police, I guess that’s why it is so cheap.

  • 3/5 Paula L. 7 months ago on Google • 1 review
the location is great because it is very close to everything, but drug addicts, homeless people and "others" ruin the atmosphere and destroy the reputation of everything. It is shameful that such things happen a few km from the center, and the police station is 50 meters away from the hotel. Drug addicts with needles as early as 8 in the morning, never go out alone at night through dark alleys. Everything was fixed by the receptionist who warned us about it, the hotel staff is on a level and I'm sorry that they have to work near that chaos. Greetings from Croatia to the receptionist who is on vacation now!!!
