One of my favorite parts of the estate. Well maintained and staffed the Grand Trianon is always a great visit. If you’re visiting in the winter season it’s definitely worth the visit as it won’t be as crowded as during the summertime.

Loved loved loved the grounds. Rented a bike and took a picnic out around time the far end of the water. Absolutely lovely. The main building was so packed though that we could barely get through. It took about 45 minutes just to walk upstairs to the mirror room because there were so many huge tour groups clogging up every doorway. Absolutely miserable experience inside.

Very very nice attraction to visit. But there is a lot of walking to be done. Minimally 30000 steps if you wanna explore the whole place... not suitable for wheel chair I will say...

Located on the palace grounds of Versailles, this edifice building featuring some beautiful red marbles arches was the actual palace/abode for Napoleon during his reign. This place is currently displaying the works of Coypel as well as the regalia of that Napoleon era. Anywhere in the world, this place would be an amazing architectural and artistic wonder but this is on the grounds of the Versailles, and competing with that marvel is difficult at best.

We visited this place as it was covered by our Versailles ticket (passport) and it was on the golf cart route. Pretty cool spot but underwhelming compared to the palace of versailles and its garden. If you have the time, check it out.

The former hunting retreat of Louis XIV that was later improved by Louis XV and XVI, Napoleon Bonaparte, and Louis-Philipe to nowadays superb villa. The rooms are wonderfully furnished. We were captivated by the furniture and other decorative pieces crafted in Louis and Imperial Styles.

(Translated by Google) Gorgeous ! Visited at the same time as the castle with an almost absent public, suddenly the whole was for us, a treat. The pink marble marks the building with finesse. A private residence of the Kings in all discretion. The interiors are enhanced by the high ceilings with cornices. The furniture, from different periods reveals the privacy of the occupants. A place conducive to calm and privacy! To have ! (Original) Sublime ! A voir !

While Châteaux de Versailles is full of shining gold everywhere, the Trianon is much more low-key and comfortable. A great relax to the eyes tired of the shining decoration! The room is also much more féminin. It’s easy to tell that Trianon is built for actual living, while Versailles is more for showcase. Definitely worth the walk from the châteaux!

If you went to visit the palace, and walk the gardens, then you must also visit this palace, which was built as a more convenient, compact and modest place to live. The contrast with the Versailles palace is incredible.

The family retreat of Louis XIV, which isn't that far away from the actual palace (about 20 minutes by foot). The rooms aren't that many, and it doesn't boast with the same extravagant furniture or items as the apartments in the palace do, but it's nice to see where the royal family sought peace. Mostly into card games and biliards from the looks of it. What I enjoyed most was the connecting corridor between the two sides of the Grand Trianon. Held together by massive columns, the corridor has open arcades between them, allowing the passer to see the interior garden on one side and the exterior garden on the other side, which leads to the forest. There are bathrooms and a souvenir shop. This is included in the Versaille Palace tickets.

It's really cool palace for the queen. But for me a bit lack of information especially for the queen it's self. I just see one photo of her in petit Trianon. But still many things to see around the palace. For the ticket €12 include visiting the petit Trianon

The Versailles Palace is a breathtaking marvel that truly deserves every bit of its five-star rating. Stepping into its opulent halls and lush gardens feels like entering a world where royalty once reigned in unparalleled grandeur. The sheer magnitude of its architectural splendor leaves visitors in awe, allowing them to vividly imagine the lavish lifestyle of the kings and queens who once called it home. The intricate details of the palace, from the ornate furnishings to the meticulously landscaped gardens, showcase an unparalleled dedication to beauty and elegance. Visiting Versailles is not just a journey through history; it's an immersive experience in the epitome of regal magnificence.

We have spent here around 2 hours. Just walked around the gardens, stayed on the stairs watching the flowers, the clouds. It is a nice castle, you don`t see the grandeur as it is at Versailles, it is a bit different, but nice nevertheless.

I'm glad we took the time to see it but if we had run out of time I wouldn't be mad about missing it either. The building itself is fairly small so can do be done quickly but the gardens are much bigger. We decided to skip them to focus on the Petit Trianon instead and that worked for us.

The Palace of Versailles is well-known and well visited but make sure to leave time for this treasure. More intimately sized, provides fascinating insight into the life of the royals. Photos are from a First Empire costume ball they held there commemorating the 200th anniversary of the death of Napoleon.

This is the house of Marie Antoinette. It is in the parcel, near a beautiful lake. Nice place for a walk and to have a picnic. Golf cars are available for rent or a small train for about 4.50. The entrance to the parcel is free of charge but entrance to the trianon is around 9 euros. Guided tours are also available and on a bike. Parking place nearby. Nice to visit on a sunny day.

I got the Versailles passport which includes Grand Trianon. We took the trolley for $8.50 per passenger and this was the second stop. When we arrived, we saw VIPs and employees going into the building but upon closer examination, we realized the place does open until 12pm. I can only blame myself but I wish the trolley driver would have warned us of the schedule. When they made the stop, the time was 11:30am. I understand it is up to the passenger to get in and out as we please but a little warning would have been the courtesy. Needless to say, we waited in the cold and rain for approximately 20 mins and decided we would jump on another trolley as it didn't look as grand as it seems from the Google reviews. My pro tip is to skip this place unless you are visiting in the summer. Versailles is so much more grand and more things to see. Spend more time in Versailles and not rush.

(Translated by Google) In addition to the Great Placio of Versailles, there are these two little ones that are to the northeast of the Palace, it is worth coming here to see them, we endured the cold to get here, but while we looked at the beautiful landscape of the palace gardens we arrived here at the little Trianon. Just as luxurious as the Palace it also contains what a normal house needs, I understand it was a small palace for the king's privacy.

Best place in Versailles, must visit if you come. It is a short walk from the palace and sometimes they have trains to transport you but they were not available during our visit. No audio tour but they have small descriptions in each room. My favorite rooms out of all the palace were here.

Amazing experience - a nice walk from the main palace but still marvelous to walk through this building and area. Whole tour of grand Trianon together with petit Trianon and the Hameau will take you approximately 1.5 hours if you’re fast and up to 3 hours to really enjoy the whole area.

After the main estate this certainly feels a let down but that is what it was designed for. It is a long walk away, maybe an issue with kids. There are options to rent bike or a golf cart which are expensive and can be a rough ride on the stone roads. They rent them according to time. It is a relaxing and beautiful walk to the place. They have another security check there with a metal detector.

It is a well thought out attraction. I loved the way the rooms were set up and the information was available in multiple languages. I actually preferred its organization to that of the Versailles palace. It was easy to imagine what life was like 250 years ago. We bought tickets from the tourism kiosk just outside of the Versailles rive gauche station. The staff were very nice and gave helpful information and instructions for planning our day.

  • 4/5 David S. 8 months ago on Google
Amazing place to visit and walk around, wasn’t too busy at all when we visited; and the gardens were super impressive with more fountains running than the Palace at Versailles the day before. Loved this place.

Lovely small museum. It had more pleasurable vibe then the Palace of Versailles and more importantly - it was way way less crowded. You could enjoy a bit of private space and take your time to view and enjoy the exhibitions. The gardens are amazing and the perfect place to relax after a tiring walk around the Versailles area. Highly recommend a visit.

Grounds are expansive and mostly looked after. It was tricky to find to find some areas such as the informal garden. It was also sad to see the river was dry and had no water in when every other pond and lake had water in. This probably can't be helped by the staff though. There are some lovely plants and trees, would be a great place for a picnic or to get some lovely pictures in.

This was a long walk from the main palace of Versailles (especially in the snow) but it was well worth it. Few tourists and fewer tour buses stop by here so it is uncrowded. The history is interesting and the art gallery built into the hall is still large, though small compared to the main palace. If you stop by Versailles you should visit here.

Really liked the Grand Trianon. Less crowd than the big palace. Nice gardens, definitely a must see if you come all this way!

  • 3/5 Kathy N. 2 years ago on Google
Half of it was closed for construction (I believe). It was a trek from the main Palace and we got there by the little green train. By that time, we were a little tired and out feet hurt a bit so we didn't get to see the Queen's Hamlet. Did appreciate the quieter atmosphere though.

This place is also good to watch while exploring the gardens.. The interiors are beautiful and this entire place is a must watch - the palace of versailles.. I will recommend to reach much before your time to explore the gardens and the Grand Trianon.. The place is good to visit and the souvenier shop is also reasonable items..

A relatively quiet retreat compared with the Versailles, guess we should thank the tour group operators who only focus on the Versailles palace. The palace itself does not really have much to offer, but the accompanying gardens are a joy to strolling at, you could wander all the way to Petit Trianon following the gardens.

  • 5/5 Stephanie P. 5 years ago on Google
Marie Antoinette’s other building is a delight to visit, much less intensely packed, and you can enjoy a stroll through and really take in the experience of being in a palace and it would have been like to live in it. The pink colours are lovely too. It’s a peaceful ride / walk or cycle through the gardens. An absolute must visit.

The Petit and Grand Trianon are not near spectacular as Versailles is, my suggestion is to start from there, then come to the palace then lastly the garden. It is a bit back and forward but is more balanced in terms of attraction.
