Describing this as hotel is stretching credibility to its limit - the Wyndham is most akin to a managed apartment. I should really remove managed from this description too, as there wasn't any management during my stay - no cleaning of rooms, no changing of towels, no making of beds, no re-supply of consumables, such as toilet roll, and the type of activities that would mark accommodation as being of a hotel nature, as compared to an Air B'n'B, to which I >would< compare this to. The apartment was perfectly adequate for my family needs, but a lack of Wi-Fi was a disappointment. I'm not sure what the apartment would be like to stay in during hotter months, as the bedrooms have no direct ventilation, just sliding doors for privacy. There is an a/c in the kitchenette and over time I'm certain this would provide sufficient cooling, but only if the bedroom doors are left open to allow circulation, so bye bye privacy, and only if left on all the time, which certainly isn't great for wanting to limit your environmental impact. There's insufficient room for luggage to be put away easily, as beds take up 95% of the rooms, so ours ended up in the hallway and lounge for the duration of our stay. The provision of a washing machine was one of the attractions of the property and very handy it was too - but no drying rack, despite a decent sized balcony -which needed cleaning before anything could be hung out. (Ok, so the washing machine is a washer dryer, but not all clothes are suited to this type of treatment, and again, so much for limiting ones environmental impact). This lack of amenity stretched to a drying rack for washing up. There was one, but it was dirty and even if we had used it, the kitchenette worktop was not designed in a way to drain water. It was certainly designed to look nice as a priority, with practicality taking a back seat. The lifts are a background noise to become accustomed to, which reminded me of strong winds whipping around the sides of a building, and the balcony doors did a good job of keeping out noise, but it would have been nice to have had them open a little more. Alas, noise from road traffic/people/pedestrian crossings tapping like a demented woodpecker meant that this wasn't a practicality. Positive aspects include a gym, albeit with older equipment, and a pool with great views and a good central location. Overall a let down due to cleanliness, especially the rug in the lounge, which was visibly dirty, the balcony which could have afforded good views, save for the glass which had become opaque with dirt, and an obvious lack of cleaning -.e.g.under the beds, which had balls of dust a-roaming.

Where do I start. Positives: decent sized rooms, pretty quiet considering right in the CBD, good location (tram stop right out the front and another on the corner) a few good options for a quick meal close by (not so much over the weekend) the housekeeping staff seem friendly, although we stayed for 5 days, they never came to our room. The reception staff are friendly and attentive. Negatives: The salesmen and the constant harassing to attend the seminar. As soon as you get to your room, (even after saying "No thank you" when checking in) they will call to see how your room is for you and slip in another request to attend the seminar where "you will receive a $50 voucher to spend at woolies!" whoopie doo). I said very clearly "No thank you" on 3 occasions, besides the fact we were not interested, we also did not have the time. On the last day we had returned home very late (11:30pm) with our toddler, so everyone was exhausted and needing a sleep in before our big trip home. The phone rang at 7:15am waking everyone to "confirm our appointment" at 7:30?! After telling the man on the other end, we had not agreed to an appointment, in fact, we had declined 3 times, he rudely asked "So you are unable to make it then?" he then hung up without another word. This is really a turn off when staying here. Ask people once. Stop harassing, he was so pushy this particular salesman, he was even pushy with the poor staff checking us in. I feel bad giving service a 1 star, as the other staff who are not there to sell shares where pleasant and friendly, but the sales staff ruined the whole experience. I would not stay here again based on this experience.

Stayed with friends. The apartments are pretty well kitted out, missing only a few things like power points on the wall near bedhead. Don't stay if you are not getting up at 7am, because that's when the construction workers start pounding away above your head. No communication ahead of time that the works would be happening during our stay. Would have rated both rooms and service higher if not for construction.

If you are checked into Room 415, don't stay. Checkout and book somewhere else.. We took a short weekend stay. No sleep Saturday night and despite sharing our negative experience on Sunday morning, were not moved to another room. At 10pm Sunday night (laying there for an hour with the never-ending lift noise), we checked out. Never again.

Staff were very friendly and accomodating. They allowed us to check in early because we have our baby with us. The family room that we got was fantastic, elegant and clean. The rooftop pool was a plus. Place is well secured. I love the smell of the lobby. So close to everything. You can leave your baggage at the reception on your check out day if you still have errands to run to. What an amazing experience we have here.

Nothing great about this, but good enough for 3 stars based on location, general presentation and the gym facilities were good. The service however was poor, took several phone calls to reception over one hour and then a visit to reception to have them deal with one basic request. Took two phone calls for another request. Bedrooms are tiny and don’t have any windows nor ventilation or air conditioning which is actually not code compliant. The lounge was extremely uncomfortable and in need of replacing. Mattresses also uncomfortable and one of the single beds was broken.

Huge apartment like rooms. Central location. Only odd part is no wifi. You have to request a Hotspot. I can see how it might be better, you're always close to the router but I've had issues with speed. Not sure if there's a cap. I also wasn't told at check in so I had to go back down to the front desk and pick the router up. They really should tell you at check in.

Great place to stay. Very central for DFO, markets Burke Street shopping. Lots of public transport easy access. I marked 4 stars for the room due to lamp plug-in under the pillows. These should have been moved when the bed was set to double instead of twins.

Brilliant. Very spacious living area, bedroom and balcony. Huge bed and very nice bathroom. Great location with easy access to everything and tram stop almost on the door step. Staff are friendly, welcoming and professional. Stayed here on many occasions now and never disappoints. Thoroughly recommend.

We just stayed five nights in a two bedroom. Pros - - Good location. - Great pool. - Comfy beds. Cons - - Apartment was very tired. - Tiny bedrooms. - Definitely not the cleanest. - Furniture very old and uncomfortable. I think we may have gotten a privately owned apartment which is why it differs to the other glowing reviews I’ve read. We were given one roll of toilet paper for five nights and I had to call to ask for more. We removed our own rubbish and requested more towels half way through but then our room was ‘serviced’ for towels and garbage on the second last day? Just average.

Would rate this 0 stars if I could! Appalling service, rooms weren’t clean, a lot of people have said they had there bikes stolen by staff members! And they try to lie about it. The rooms were disorganised and filthy. Staff members seemed a little bit suspicious every time we went down to reception. Then when we got there a night before to check-in, the parking costed $12 which we were ok with, until we left and scanned our card but when we scanned it wouldn’t open the gate for us. So we click the help button and someone hops on and asks what’s wrong, we say that the parking says for us to pay an additional $87! Which the lady said was correct! So we spent $99 just on parking. This place is your hotel of horror and nightmare. Do not ever stay here.

Dreadful hotel, from the surly reception staff to the overflowing trash room and stained mattresses on rock hard beds. Asked for mattress toppers to be put on, they just left hem thrown o n the sofa for us to do ourselves, thanks! Asked reception why there were 2 singles in main bedroom shrugged and was disinterested, no offer to move us when I said it was our anniversary trip. Bedroom was freezing heater didn’t work so had to sleep in second bedroom. Think they give RCI exchange members the worst rooms if this is anything to go by. Worst timeshare exchange we’ve done in over 30yrs., thank goodness we refused the sales pitch. They even rang us night before we left to get us to do sales tour, said we were leaving 8am following day, the guy said we can fit you in at 7am!! Unbelievably bad customer service all round Location is good though

We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment for a week. The apartment looks newly renovated and is fully equipped, with a full kitchen. There's no cleaning service for the week we stayed but you can always request a change of towels and extra toiletries if needed. Washing machine and dryer are not in the apartment but for common use on the same floor with detergent provided. Many packs of coffee, tea and hot chocolate were provided on check in and cleaning staff did ask if we needed more. Staff service is prompt and pleasant. The apartment was very clean. One very good update is that free WIFI is available in the apartment. Wyndham has finally made good on this from our read of previous reviews. As for the location, it is unbeatable. Right in CBD & opposite the Court House. So it is quiet after peak hours.

Location is awesome. No wifi and dongle provided on request are very slow. Ended up hot-spotting off my phone. Asked for the invoice to be emailed to me and yet to receive it (3 days later).

Great place to stay in the heart of Melbourne CBD. Close to free trams and transport. The hotel features a gym and a pool. The rooms are big and higher up rooms get nice views. Recommend for families. But check the prices as it’s expensive than normal. But worth it given all the features and location.

Great value for money, modern interior, all your essentials in the room. I had the 1 bedroom apartment with a city view and it was stunning on the 7th floor. Anything higher would be even better however if you are chasing a view from the balcony I would'nt recommend lower than the 7th floor. Staff at reception were great. Friendly, efficient and professional. I wouldnt ask for much more from a room of this price bracket. Would return!

Really great service. Shower door let water out and tiles in shower were a little unclean but this is a minor thing. Overall the room was looking a little tired. Glass on balcony was really dirty. The couch was reasonably uncomfortable. Two bedrooms with small kitchenette and combined lounge area Quick walk to anywhere in the cbd, so quite a good location with a tram stop almost directly out front.

Very centrally located. Convenient walking distance to Chinatown and shopping district. No parking on property. Need to pay $30 for all day parking at a nearby carpark. Rooms are clean but lack power outlets. WiFi is through a SIM doggle gadget issued by receptionist. Kitchen is well appointed. A wash-dryer was included in my apartment. Italian toiletries were provided. They smell nice and luxurious. Receptionist was friendly and responsive to our requests.

The room was available at 1pm. Great kitchenette and bathroom, all very clean & tidy, even has a pool on the roof and a gym! Bedroom is tight, but who cares when it's separate from the living room.

Such a brilliant stay! We had a problem with our room and the staff were the loveliest people we have ever met. They wrote us a note and gave us chocolates to say sorry and they also brought us hot chocolate and coffees in the morning. The rooms are huge and the views were incredible. The facilities were great especially the pool. Thanks so much to all the stage for the amazing stay!

This hotel is have good location. Nice large rooms that are well furnished. As usual, the bathroom needs somewhere to put your clothes.. a smaller table or stool would do. Not much preparation space in the kitchenette, but ok if you're not too ambitious in your cooking requirements. The atmosphere is better and easier to access to public transportation.

Like many people these days I have dyed hair. And when wet, it can stain. I showered and my hair accidentally stained the pillow case I slept on, so they didn’t give me back my $200 deposit. They can easily bleach the pillow case. That’s why hotels have white bedding and towels, so they can bleach away the stains. But no. They just decided to take $200 instead. I wouldn’t stay here if you have coloured hair. Money hungry people. Wouldn’t go back.

We've stayed here a number of times and always have an enjoyable stay. This time we had a studio room which was still quite spacious with a balcony. The kitchen was well equipped and the bathroom was huge! We usually enjoy the pool but found this time that it was full, especially since it's school holidays. The hotel is in a great location, close to great restaurants and an easy walk to the river/casino. It would be great if they would get some firmer pillows though. We look forward to returning

Great location central to the Legal district of the city. The rooms were nice and the staff were always friendly. The only problem we had was with the parking. It’s just a bit of a walk to get there.

We had such a great few days here. The room was well laid out, a pleasant balcony and nice showers. The staff went out of their way to help us. The rooftop pool was heaps of fun for our two boys. Good location as well, close to everything.

Apartment 111 is 2 bed 1 bath. Well laid out kitchen, dining, lounge with a small balcony tucked in the corner between buildings. Location meant room was dull and we left the lights on. Bathroom with shower was good size. Master bedroom good size but no window. Bedroom with twin beds smaller, no room for 2 suitcases and no window. Location is great. Walked everywhere in CBD and tram right outside the door.

Good size living room. Bedrooms were small - almost japanese like. Bathroom was clean and spacious. Shower pressure was really good.. Not too hard or fast... but not slow either. Tram stop pretty much around the corner... Decent size gym... relaxed rooftop pool area which would be much nicer im summer but they made the water temp mild which was great. Great experience overall

Great location across the street from Victoria Supreme Court and short walk to free city trams. Great Melbourne city view from our suite balcony which had moveable glass louvers. Suite, including balcony, was well furnished. Down the hall was entry to the rooftop pool which was very cool!

Lack of service staff on a weekend seems to be a concern. Had to carry all my luggage (2 large suitcases and 4 handcarry bags) up to my room by myself using their hotel trolley. No WiFi seems odd and the lift changing was confusing initially. Otherwise spacious room with adequate amenities

Good location. It seems to be a joint room rental and residential place so there aren't many added amenities. No restaurant or food features, it is central and has easy access to nearby features like the tram stop. No wifi without a Hotspot though which was easy to get

Clean, well presented rooms, friendly staff. You can drop your luggage off at the front entrance with concierge since no on site parking is available. You can park nearby to the hotel for $30/day (bring ticket to front reception)

Only the personal items were returned the staff replaced the food items and wine with cheap sub quality items no were near the quality or cost of the items thrown away. Very disappointed would never use again or recommend to anyone

My partner and I stayed here for 3 nights, and couldn’t fault our stay. The location is central to everything, the studio bed was huge, in fact the highlight of the room. The outdoor heated pool was also incredible and a delight to swim in at night with breathtaking views of the city.

The service was amazing the staff was really kind and helpful. The room was okay. I found a couple of issues which I passed on to the management to look into it. The pool, gym and library was amazing it was clean and tidy. I'm happy with Wyndham Hotel.

This hotel is an easy walk or choose a tram for a quicker ride to the Mall. Most rooms are apartment style with studio's up to 3 bedroom style available and with most having their own balcony and kitchens. Having stayed here many times and with kids the pool on the 23rd floor is nice and long for large numbers of guests to relax in - only downfall is the lack of shade on a hot day. Reception team are always welcoming and greet you with smiles and hellos 👋 😀 😊 every time you go through reception. Thanks for the stay again...
