👍 The dishes are fairly good. However, they tastes too sour, not as the original ones in my country Vietnam. The price is a little bit high in my opinion. People often mention Vietnamese, restaurant, authentic, dishes, friendly, service, recommend, good, fresh, staff,

The bun bo hue was sooooo delicious. Best one Ive had in a while. Such tender meat and flavourful broth. The fresh spring rolls with shrimp were also good. Very friendly staff as well. :)

A Fantastic little gem in the heart of Vienna with authentic Vietnamese food. To be more precise, after trying several Vietnamese restaurants in Vienna, this is clearly our favorite. They offer only a small handful of dishes - and all of them are done in perfection. And of course, here you come for the Pho noodles. Our favorite is the Beef Pho. Friendly owner and staff.

When it comes to (asian) cuisine in Vienna I’m kind of a picky eater, not going to lie. Viet Thao is a simple, yet fantastic family-run restaurant that serves lovingly made piping hot fresh dishes straight from the kitchen. Service can be slower sometimes when the place is ex-tremely packed, but that’s the price I am willing to pay for attentive service and made to order food :) I love their spring rolls, pork belly and eggplant dishes. The menu is very condensed, but large enough for everyone to find something they like. Can’t say much about the Pho as I dislike it in general, sadly lol As the Restaurant is right next to a large intersection, the outside seating can get a bit noisy. Inside it can be a little bit noisy as well during peak dinner hours. If you want some quiet hours on a date or something after your hearty meal, I’d recommend making plans to go to a nearby cafe or bar later in advance

I love this Viet restaurant, and I think it’s the best in Vienna. Delicious and authentic! Highly recommend it! Can’t wait to come back again. Lots of vegetarian, vegan options and pescatarian dishes. The owners were funny and very lovely.

Very tasty Vietnamese food. Outstandingly friendly staff. Very central location which can get a little noisy outside. The small kitchen has a hard time to keep the pace so the wait can get a bit longer but is worth while. The place is very crowded most of the time so booking your table in advance is a must.

Ever since my trip to Vietnam few years ago I am a big fan of Pho. And oh boy, this place did not dissapoint. The best Pho I have had in ages. So flavoursome, and very authentic. Shrimp crispy rolls were delicious too! If I am ever back in Vienna, I will definitely go back to Viet Thao. Highly recommended.

The food tastes okay. The price is fair. However, I expected a real authentic Vietnamese pho and it doesn’t have the real taste at all. The meet wasn’t fresh as well. The service isn’t nice. The owner isn’t friendly. The squeeze so many tables in such a small place; So it doesn’t worth the wait !

The food is fantastic and the staff are incredibly friendly, I'm definitely coming back. Also the coconut rice pudding with Mango was the best dessert I've had in a very long time 😍

Having lived in Europe for over 4 years, I've dined at numerous Vietnamese restaurants, but this one truly stands out. Every dish served was a delightful surprise, exuding the taste of authentic home cooking. Their beef broth was particularly notable, boasting a richness that's hard to find. I can feel that they put lots of care to their food. A genuine gem for anyone seeking an authentic Vietnamese culinary experience.

Great food but a terrible waiting time. We got squeezed in at 17:15 on a table until 19:00. Sadly one main dish came in only at 18:40, a neighbouring table that arrived after us was finished by then. We got offered more time to eat, but had another appointment so that did not help much. Also sadly no explanation of how it came to this. Therefore I wouldn't recommend it if you have a time constraint.

This restaurant is constantly packed, so reservations are necessary. The menu is small, but more authentic than most Vietnamese restaurants. The food was good, but nothing incredible. The average rating is due to the fact that we waited an hour for our main dishes, while others parties that arrived after us had already received their food. We were not in any way compensated for the wait, and we left the restaurant feeling underwhelmed. For me, it wasn’t worth the wait .

My wife and I have been all through Vietnam, and this food was clean, fresh, and authentic home cooked Vietnamese food. It’s run by a family and that care and attention to detail shows. Can’t recommend this establishment enough!

Best Vietnamese restaurant, we booked table in advance, as you can see here is full everyday. The food is very good, fresh and tasty. Service is satisfying plus we were enjoying the Karaoke with other clients.

The crunchy pork belly was so good.. The waiters were kind and engaging. When I asked about spicy sauce, I had two of them to try, plus raw peppers. It is highly recommended to make a reservation. It gets packed easily.

I’m from Melbourne where we have huge Vietnamese population. Pho there is world class. The ingredients for pho are: • 3-4 lbs beef bones (oxtail, marrow, knuckle) • 1 onion, unpeeled and cut in half • 3-4 inch piece of ginger, unpeeled and cut in half lengthwise • 2-3 star anise • 3-4 cloves • 1 cinnamon stick • 2 cardamom pods (optional) • 1 tablespoon coriander seeds • 1 tablespoon salt • 1 tablespoon sugar • 6-8 cups of water I was served a hot broth, oily slick, over salted, very dark, perfect beef bone broth but not pho. No hint of any of the expected spices. When asking why, was advised it was traditional Vietnamese recipe. So great restaurant for salty dark beef broth.

It's a small cozy place, nothing fancy about the appearance, but the food and the staff are amazing. I truly recommend it if you want to have a great Pho 🤤

Wonderful Pho - great vegan options. We also liked the paw paw salad. It was a little noisy but we had a great family evening there with baby and dog

This friendly family run restaurant serves the best pho I have ever had - even better than in Vietnam. Jasmin tea was fresh. You’ll probably need to make a reservation since they were busy each night I dined there. You owe it to yourself to try this incredible restaurant. Ingredients are fresh, and the place is very clean and cozy. They genuinely care about their customers, and you will be treated like a close friend. Highly recommend!!!

Most delicious Vietnamese restaurant in Vienna. Make sure you reserve a table early enough. The rest is just about having those special yummy moments while eating the dishes and feeling like you are in Vietnam. Very authentic place with amazing and funny owner. Go for it!!!

Probably one of the best restaurants I've ever been to. Very tasty food and incredibly friendly staff who take the time to explain your dish and how it is traditionally eaten. And the prices are totally fair. Overall, just a gem of a place!

The best Bun bo hue I've ever tried in Europe. We wanted to come more to try some other dishes but reservation is needed and I found it's kinda hard for tourist to book a table in advance. They have no facebook and the only way is to come directly to the restaurant to make a reservation.
