Nice Leberkäse, you can have variety of meat which is not only made from Pork. So those people who concern about Halal food, you can pick other type of meat like horse, turkey and etc. The atmosphere is nice even the place is a bit small. Good feedback from me overall

Great place to get an authentic Austrian dish. If you're not familiar, Leberkäs is a type of prepared meat served as a sandwich. You get your choice of bread and type of Leberkäs. Very tasty, great for lunch or simple dinner. Beats MacDonalds by a mile. Price is good, we paid € 15 for two sandwiches and two drinks. Hang out by the Opera Haus and people watch.

We went there to have some dinner. At the beginning the guy who served us (the one with a beard and an earring) was very rude and treated us as if we were stupid. He made us feel really uncomfortable and as if we were not welcomed there. We didn't speak German so we tried to communicate with him in English, which lead him to speak to us very badly. Fortunately, the guy with the glasses took over the conversation, who was super nice with us. Food was nice, but it is unacceptable that we were treated like this. If it wasn't for the guy with the glasses we would have left without ordering anything.

Excellent proper Austrian street food in a cosy place. Big kudos to the staff, the advised me with two different kinds of Leverkas and both were amazing!

Small restaurant opposite the Vienna Opera House. The ladies who were running the place were very friendly and spoke English. I tried horse meatloaf with cheese and spice. I specifically went to the restaurant for this and it's totally worth it. The food was cheap and delicious. For light snacks or lunch, this is a good place. You can also try different types of beer here.

We've had a very nice lunch here. We were new to this place and struggled a bit with our choice of food but the crew were very patient and helpful. The food and beer were both amazing and the place has a delightful atmosphere. I absolutely recommend to visit and give it a try!

(Last visit: Aug 2022) I still have no idea of what a Leberkas is. It's like a sandwich made from soft bread, sauce and what appears to be paté. There, you can choose each ingredient and the meat options include truffle, spicy and… horse! I really see this place working with two or three friends and tap beers. The owner recommendations are spot on, you’re in for a great time!

Very original and tasty place with local Austrian meat-snacks. Relaxed atmosphere, delicious, simple food (street/homemade vibe). The special served as sandwich was not very greasy, eaten as late meal was exactly what I needed after a long walk. Could be eaten inside or to go easily. Highly recommended!

The food was amazing!! Definitely have to come back again. The staff were very friendly and helpful but the restaurant is a bit small but again the food was delicious! The prices are so great considering that it is located near the Opera and other tourist attractions. I recommend it you should try it!

Amazing place. Delicious warm food and great cold beer. The staff is so friendly and willing to help and recommend. I felt like home. If you are visiting Viena this place is a must

Great place to have a quick bite. The stuff is very friendly. The food is great. I would recommend the one with the cheese. 300gr is the size! Less bread more meat.

Top! The most popular ones are classic, cheese, and chili cheese. You can get it on different types of bread and also add horseradish on top. Delicious!

Amazing street food, I didn’t know what to eat, so just told the server girl to give me anything she recommends, and her chili-cheese Leberkäse with mustard was delicious. And it was shockingly cheap, like half the price of the Christmas markets, but three times the quality.

This place is very value for money, there is a nice selection of Leberkäse that will fit every taste. Pictured is the Pferdleberkäse

Wasn't sure what to expect, but we really enjoyed our first taste of leberkase. The lady at the counter was also very friendly. Delicious food, low prices, and lovely staff--10/10 would recommend!

Amazing sandwiches here! There is something special about European bread that makes it so crusty and delicious. Slices of meat are based on weight and a sandwich will probably run you about EUR 4.00. Locals do not eat in a sandwich but prefer to have a slice of meat, pretzel and mustard on the side. They have horse meat as an option.

That sandwich is so tasty, we took the chili cheese and came back the next day for another one. Cheap and totally worth a visit

My favorite place in town for a quick traditional take away food. Here is the most delicious meat, sausage and fresh buns. I fall in love with it 3 years ago! The cafe is open until late at night and even on Saturdays. Location is brilliant. There are always a lot of people, because very tasty food and low price (2-3 euro for the whole meal). If you want to feel the real Vienna, then come here. P.S. Special enjoyment - to visit this place and eat great meat after performance in Wiener Staatsoper at night!

I got the Käse (cheese meat) sandwich and it was DELICIOUS! It's also unlike any other sandwich I've ever had so you should definitely try it and see for yourself!

Sandwiches were really good! However, the waitresses were not nice at all. Made me feel very unwelcome.

Great place to try some simple and easy Austrian food. We had the burgers and they were epic, definitely value for money and tasty! 🤘

I came across the post that talked great things about this dish and this little place. Indeed, we went there on an afternoon and we fell in love with this food. You cannot miss out on this absolutely out of the world delicacy of Vienna!!! I can't wait to try it again when I am there!!! just grab the food quickly and get a move on as the place is tiny !

Had the Classic, Cheese, Horse, Truffle flavours, paying under 5 Euros/pax (3 pax). All were really savoury and were classic food. Was my first time trying horse meat and found it to be really nice, although do note that there is a slightly gamey taste to it. Would recommend!

The best place in Austria to have a meat in a bun with beer. A variety types of meat, not expensive and very tasty 😋 On the first visit my recommendation is to start with the classic.

this is a good place to recharge energy! The personnel is very friendly! there is a small terrace outside with a view to the Opera. The variety of the menu is huge! 19€ for three sandwiches and 3 beers 🍻👍🏼

Good value for money! They have several types of leberkase and breads that you can mix and match. I had the truffle leberkase with semmel, and plan to return to try the other varieties. It's walking distance from Albertina, Stadtkino, and other attractions.

Amazing little find in Vienna on the outskirts of the innerstrade. Worth a visit to try some traditional Austrian food. Could have eaten the whole shop if I had the chance it was that good! Simple but totally satisfying with different flavours available. A non expensive lunch option as well!

  • 5/5 Botond M. 1 year ago on Google
Waoo, this is the best place to taste leberkas! Lot of different flavours, all amazing. Do not miss it when you are in Vienna

First of all, it is a bit difficult for a tourist to understand the system inside. but it takes some effort (first the type of bread, then the type of meat you want, and finally the type of sauce). It is very satisfying to have the delicious Austrian local food you want. You can understand the English of the employees on average. their sandwiches are legendary, half an hour later we had to go and eat again :D

The quality and the taste is very good. It's at the heart of the city, very good location. service was fast and nice, the price is okay. It's a very small place, the crowd is bigger than the number of tables, but it's worth to go. But there's no vegetarian option thou.

This is the number one place to try Leberkase in Vienna. I tried pizza, cheese and chilli/cheese. All three are awesome. Chili & cheese combination could be strong for some, but it is my favorite. Staff is very friendly. Looking forward to visit again.
