The worst New Year’s Eve menu in Europe! (Plz read carefully this is a review from someone that usually have a positive thinking and rate things with 4&5 stars) I had made my booking for 7 persons in mid November, in order to have our New Year’s Eve dinner via Michelin website. Our decision was made since it was close to the st Stephan’s square and it had big gourmand certification from Michelin guide. Our initial booking was for an al carte menu but the restaurant gave a call to inform me 2 days before the dinner that they will have an mandatory menu that costed 109€pp. Since we did not had any other option because Vienna’s restaurants were fully booked, we accept to have the menu. We join our table at 21.15 and the service managed to bring as only the first plate from the 5 course menu until 23.45. We inform the manager that we would like to get out at the square to have the changing of the new year and that we will return back at 00.15 and then they informed us that the restaurant closes at midnight and that they were unable to complete the other 4 courses... and that we will pay only for our drinks and one menu. I cannot comment for the food since they were unable to offer any but the bad service and irresponsibility of the management score great.

Looking for a Michelin restaurant under 20 Eur per person? Look no further, fantastic carbonara though not the best I have had in Vienna. I appreciate the parmezan served with the pasta 🍝.

It’s a nice place for food and hangout, they have dinning area in the basement also with live music 🎶… food is amazing taste 😋 … instead of waiting in a queue in other restaurants, here they have space in the basement also if the restaurant is full … it’s a cool place to have dinner

We came to this place by chance, instead of waiting an hour across the street. It was a very good decision. The atmosphere and the service was excellent, all the waiters very kind and attending. We tried their Wiener schnitzel and it was actually one of the best schnitzel experience of our life.

Disclaimer: I booked their Michelin menu for two directly from the Michelin site. Big mistake. This review is based on that, not their a la carte menu which may very well be fine. A shrimp cocktail disguised by awful presentation, a cream soup that was actually tasty, beef cooked completely wrong and a dessert to remember: a berry mousse tarte (thay seemed store bought) served on a plate reeking of vinegar from the decoration. The restaurant itself isn't bad looking, but the very dim lighting does the food no favours. I'm not sure if it's meant to be a tourist trappy deal they made for exposure or this is the actual level of cuisine, but it was disappointing. The service was slow, despite the restaurant being 3/4 empty at the time. I do remember the waiter asking us "are you sure?" after initially asking us if we enjoyed our meal. For that sad bit of humour alone we decided to tip (otherwise the menu costing an obscene 85€ per person). Do try at your own risk, maybe the a la carte menu is something else.

I‘ve celebrated my birthday at Kussmaul and it has been a fantastic experience for all our guests. Matej was super helpful to organize everything, the food was plenty and absolutely delicious, the Service team was very attentive and fun! Can definitely recommend it! Thank you team Kussmaul, well done 😊

Nice fusion of different types of foods. Friendly and attentive staff. The old location was nicer though. There I would have given them 5 stars.

This place used to be a nice place with great food. Now it is just a place where customers who cannot get a place in Figlmüller end up. The menu is basically a tourist menu now with traditional Austrian food and burgers both which dissappoint quality wise especially for the price. We made reservations thinking that we would not be able to get space but the waitress didn't even know there was a reaervation even though we had a confirmation. Thankfully it is empty enough to find some space. 3-4 staff members are working but if you need something you better yell through the restaurant for help. Only plus was the Croatian wine which was delicious.

Our table was next to an often opening door causing waves of cold ruining the atmosphere. Waited 1 hour for our risotto and pasta that were not boiled and pasta was buttery. Both not edible.Staff was polite but the food was a big no. Would not recommend.

As previously mentioned, went for the place across the street but didn't feel like queuing for 30 mins. More than happy with the decision, restaurant seated me immediately and got me a menu. Plenty of options but went with soup of the day and a schnitzel. Food was served quite quickly and both were thoroughly enjoyable. All in all, very happy with the restaurant. Updated the location on maps and should be a bit easier to find now.

Fantastic food and the restaurant was quiet and not overcrowded and didn't have to stand in line for a table unlike some of the restaurants in Vienna. The staff are friendly and would definitely recommend it if you want schnitzel.

Really beautiful place, polite and friendly stuff but the service was quite slow. The schnitzel was too fat and the cola was from the tap, disgusting… You have to pay the side dish separately.

We were checking out some restaurants nearby when we came across Kussmaul. Other restaurants seemed fine, but we saw waiters standing outside smoking, or they didn’t have a varied menu. Turned out to be a great dining experience. Our waiter was attentive but not hovering. The beer suggested was great. We started with a rocket salad that we shared. Nice balsamic and olive oil dressing, that we had ample portions between us. I had a wok dish that had a great combination of savoury and heat. A good variety of vegetables. My wife had a nice chardanay and spaghetti pompadour that was al dente, in a beautiful tomato sauce. All at a reasonable price. Very nice decor with a cool bar and clean bathrooms. I would recommend totally.

We found Kussmaul in the heart of Vienna actually by chance, when looking for a great schnitzel restaurant in the city. But not only were we happy with everything we experienced here, but we’ve been served the best Wienerschnitzel that we’d ever had. The place is very welcoming from the get go. It’s a modern restaurant with contemporary decoration and ambience, but you still feel very cosi when entering. The waiters were very kind and attending, always asking whether we were happy with the food or wanted anything else. The meat was heavenly, we can say that it was our best Wienerschnitzel experience ever. It was extremely tender and the coating super crunchy. Just the way a perfect schnitzel should be. The meat itself was a bit thicker than what you get in most places, but it was prepared in such a perfect way that you didn’t feel the meat flavor overwhelming at all. On the contrary, this just made our original Vienna schnitzel experience even more sophisticated.

The place is cosy, walked in without reservation. Food was good, they charge 1.90€ cover charge but it worth it

Modern restaurant with an extensive menu of international dishes on offer. Superfriendly and service-oriented staff. All dishes tasted fresh and were very tasty! Although the restaurant offers no terrace it definetely is worth visiting compared to waiting in long lines (with no social distancing) at the famous schnitzel restaurant on the opposite side of the street.

“no tap water”, instead they charge 8€ for .75cl of still water… RIDICULOUS. Then, we order 2 pastas, which take 1 hour and 15 minutes to come. There was a total of three other tables in the restaurant, all of which came in later than us, and received there food much before us. The carbonara was barely edible. Can’t believe this place is on the “Michelin guide”.

Wonderdul place with high level food and very good service. When we came to eat there the kitchen was already closed/closing, but we still managed to get a steak tartare and a schnizel. Both very good, but tartare absolute perfect! Highly recommended!

Loved the food and service! Michelin star deserved. All people lined up in front of Figmuller but this was worth every penny and zero line.

  • 2/5 Krzysztof K. 9 months ago on Google
Very disappointed about the food. It was mostly blant without any significant taste at all. The ribs were mostly just fat and half of the side salad was just a plain onion. The wok food was not seasoned well and the meat pieces were very chewy. I don't get why this place charges those pretentious pricrs for this quality of food.

We couldn’t get in the restaurant opposite and they have table after a short wait. Food was great. It’s pricy but the interior is fancy. Service is great but they are busy. So yes, difficult to get attention from servers but they are working hard. So I still give full stars.

Was very excited to try this spot after seeing it on the Michelin Guide. However, I cannot recommend and I am sure it will be shortly off the Michelin app. The staff was very cold upon our arrival and seemed dismissive of our reservation. We got a table and ordered drinks and an app. Beef tarter was served with white sandwich bread and lacked much flavor. We decided to leave after this course. Lights were very bright.

Nice location in the centre of Vienna with a great atmosphere and service. The traditional dishes come in big portion and they seem very good. I had a beef burger and a crepes roll. Highly recommended!

The location is very good ,it is in the city center by shops . The srvice was slow because only one ma was serving 5 tables ,but he was really friendly and helpful. The food was ok like it was not too bad ,but the goulache was really good.
