The Espresso! Try it! The flavour is amazing. Also has a Chai Latte, good too. But really, have an espresso, straight up. It’s unusually great.

To my great regret, I need to write a negative review. The first time I really felt the need to write one. When you come to the cafe you don't expect to get Prejudicial treatment. We were told that we had to put the laptop away as it was "not a library" and that we could only sit for an hour. That this is not a place to study or work. The barista was uncooperative and showed his negative attitude in every possible way. Why this is biased, describing what it was like around here: - the girl on the left was reading a book (like in a library) - on the second table, people were discussing a work project with notes (like in a library) - across the table at them sat a girl with a notebook, studying with headphones and a phone (the computer was replaced by a phone, to whom it was more convenient, but like in the library) After we were just talking, not working, we were once again told to put the laptop away (which we weren't using and it could be clearly seen) Of course we left right away. All the beauty and delicious coffee were ruined by the awful prejudicial attitude. Shocked that this takes place in civilised, highly-intelligent Vienna. Very, very unfortunate.

Fantastic hot chocolate, with beautiful latte art. The cake I had was all right overall, the flavour was very good. Friendly service and the place is small and simply decorated but in a nice way. Would 100% go back for the hot chocolate! In summer there are a few outdoor spaces too.

This is not a review to re-confirm all the good reviews here about "Coffee Break". As written by others, the place is small and cozy, the cappuccino is fantastic, and the barista is very friendly & knowledgeable . I am writing this little review as a personal note to myself that making a "real" espresso is both art and science. Near the end of my rather long stay in Vienna, I am thrilled that I went to Coffee Break for my cup of cappuccino. I have had over 40 cups of espressos and cappuccino in Vienna and the one you see in the picture is by far the best! Also, I'd like to thank the coffee shop owner for having answered all my questions :) I am already planning going back before my departure for another wonderful experience! PS: We were even more surprised by the barista when he prepared a drink just for my daughter who does not drink coffee. The frozen-berry concoction was fabulous according to her (also visible in one of the photos). ________________________________________________________________________ PS: It's been some 10 hours now but I can still smell the ground coffee used in my cappuccino! A blend of Brazilian and (forgot) beans, mild roast, chocolaty aroma :)

The coffee is amazing! I had a cappuccino, it was nice and milky with a velvety coffee flavour. Absolutely delicious! The place is cute and cosy, pretty small but it wasn’t busy on this day so we had a quiet place to work from. They don’t have WiFi tho :/

It's a good size (for me) cafe with nice big windows. Outside sitting not loud enough to deter the ‘outside’ lovers. The coffee is incredibly tasty and made by Marco (owner). I had the blueberry cheesecake and it was also delicious. Marco (I hope I spelled your name correctly, mate) when making your coffee, shows that he cares. So far, one of the best cafes in Vienna. Try it and you'll understand.

Terrible service. Very unpolite people. Good coffee, but in Vienna, you can find many places with good coffee and way better service. Also expensive. Would not go back!

I live near this coffee shop but never gave it a try until today. So, the coffee itself is surprisingly tasty (I had a flat white with oat milk) and the location is cozy. However, a few downsides are the staff, the price, and the fact that they do not accept credit cards. As for the staff, I didn’t find them polite. I didn’t see the sign saying that computers and work-related tasks are not allowed inside so the barista came over and first asked me if I want anything else only after I said no did he ask me what I'm doing (as he saw that I was reading a book) to let me know that I'm not allowed to read there. I wonder if he would have mentioned the policy had I said I wanted to order additional food/coffee. The price for a single flat white is €4,80 but they don’t accept credit cards meaning that they save on transaction fees, nevertheless, keep the price relatively high compared to other, and perhaps better, cafes around.

Expensive. Asked for some water for our flowers that we had with us. Were refused. The place is tiny. More for a take and go coffee. The girl next to us wanted to use her laptop and was told that it was not allowed 🤯. The service is poor. You can't pay by card and you need to actually go to the counter to pay. I was with a child. all of a sudden the bartender decided to open the front door (winter weather) and leave it like this without even asking the customers if it were ok for them. Had to put my child back into her winter clothes. The coffee is good. Wouldn't go again.

The BEST cappuccino in town! Seriously, you have to try it! The Barista is very knowledgeable and passionate about his job, which is always a nice bonus. Very nice and cost coffee shop with amazing and affordable ( cappuccino 2.80 to go) coffee and nice cakes. Unfortunately closed during the weekend, otherwise I would go there every day. :) Enjoy!

Excellent coffee, great taste and the cheesecake 😋. One of the many small little cafés that i began to find around Vienna and simply love them. Nice service, only cash. Be sure to visit of in the neighborhood.

I come here from time to time when I'm too lazy to work somewhere else. It makes reliably strong coffee. But as any other hipster place in Vienna, it's too expensive. It also doesn't provide internet. I do find the servers unfriendly sometimes.

My traditional visit in Vienna. Off the beaten tourist track, but still central, facing the Uni across the street. Very quiet and lovely. The coffee is good, and I love the Best Smooth Jazz (BSJ) radio that I discovered here years ago and they still play it on the loudspeaker. Keep in mind though: cash-only (this is Vienna) and no restroom (then again, there's still Uni across the street)

Wonderful little cafe, just off Berggasse. Amazing coffee quality and wonderful service. We took notice of the barista’s meticulous work in dosing the coffee, frothing the milk and pouring it for the latte art. If you are a coffee lovers or coffee expert (if you know you know) this is the spot for you! FYI: the cakes are also wonderful (would recommend the crumble!)

World class coffee, indulge in cappuccino with oat milk, delicious home made cakes, cheese cake with blueberries is my absolute favourite, very friendly environment, for me the best coffee ever in town, don't like them close Sat and Sun, as I then miss my coffee. Keep it up! All the best!

Every time when I go for a walk with my dog I try to visit this coffee place and take a cup of flat white with oat milk. It’s too good to be true 😍 p.s. cheesecake is too sweet for me but it’s not a pastry- or sweet-shop, they shouldn’t be professional in such things;)

They have really great beans from Gardelli, but the staff seemed to be bothered by the fact that I was trying to make conversation or ask questions about the beans. The best thing about specialty coffee places is to talk with the staff about the craft they enjoy, but the interaction was not only unpleasant it was rude.

  • 5/5 Adam J. 2 years ago on Google
Great quality coffee, a flat white is one of the best I ever had, also the place is probably not for people who like acidity, as the owner really does, so note that!

Cozy little cafe offering excellent specialty coffee (Gardelli), with nice selection of fresh home-made cakes: banana bread, brownies, cheesecake ... and if you are lucky, even a cross between the latter two: the cheese-caramel brownie ;-)

Good coffee, quiet place to sit in. Friendly service, although I am not the easiest customer and didn't find some of the specialty coffee beans on sale on that day, you can ask any questions and expect a honest opinion. Nice looking cakes, too. Ideal place for a light breakfast or an afternoon break in relaxed atmosphere. Unfortunately closed on the weekend but seems like it is not getting too many customers at this time.
