A fantastic experience at Beim Czaak. The whole environment makes it feel like you are taken 100 years back in time, with a small, but still very beautiful and unique interior. The restaurant first opened its doors in 1926. I ordered their “Czaakys highlight”, which was a combination plate, consisting of both the traditional Wiener schnitzel, as well as the traditional hungarian dish, gulash - both being very tasty! They are able to make all their dishes gluten free, which i greatly appreciated, although for a small fee. They also have vegetarian alternatives Their server was dressed in a fancy attire, with a great and classy attitude. Although our german is far from perfect, he appreciated our effort to speak it. I will certainly visit again the next time i’m in Vienna!

I really wanted to try an original Vienna Veal Schnitzel before we left Vienna. After a short web search I found this restaurant which had this and other Viennese dishes on the menu. It was also very close to where we were staying. After making an online booking the day before we dropped in for dinner in the afternoon on 4/1/2023. This was a restaurant that was established in 1926. Entering the building we did feel as if we were transported back in time to the 1920’s. We had original Weiner schnitzel, braised lamb knuckle with rosemary sauce and braised vegetables with potatoes, clear soup with beef strudel and a green salad. Every bite was out of this world. The food arrived soon and all of my family members enjoyed all the dishes very much. We did book ahead and I think that would be advisable. It was pet friendly as well. Definitely worth a visit to anyone wanting to savour classical Austrian food.

Super nice viennese restaurant, but just few vegetarian options (no vegan ones). The place is nice, there's also the possibility to sit outside. The staff was gentle, I definitely recommended to go there :)

Amazing gluten free schnitzel! They can make the whole menu in a gluten free version. The waiter was polite and very attentive, food was great and got to the table in less than 5 minutes. My husband could distinguish it from a non gluten free one. It’s so worth it!!!

For dinner tonight we had planned to go to a different place. On the way out of the hotel we decided to ask the front desk about the new place we were headed to. The response was kind of a frown and "it's OK, but that's where the tourists go so it's always busy". Not exactly a ringing endorsement. She then said that Beim Czaak was a much better place that wouldn't be crammed with tourists. We laughed and said that we'd been there yesterday, so we understood the recommendation as it was very good. And we decided to go back. Tonight I ordered what my fiance had yesterday: the "Hausschuhnizel". It's a pork schnitzel stuffed with cheese, ham, mushrooms, and onions, and fried potatoes on the side. It is indescribably good. She had tonight's special, which was sous vide chicken in a paprika sauce with Viennese butter spaetzl in the side. After dinner we had a round of schnapps, a very smooth raspberry one for me, and an apricot one for her that would burn the hair out of your nostrils. For dessert: She had tonight's ice cream dumpling, which was filled with apricot and had a hazelnut crust. I went with the strawberry cremè brûlée which came with a side of whipped eggnog cream and fresh berries. Seriously cannot recommend this place highly enough. It's not fancy or particularly expensive, and the food and beer is top notch.

This is as traditional as it gets. Expect a rustic yet cosy interior where all the Vienna classic dishes are served - Fritatten-Soup, Dumplings and Schnitzel. Nice local beer specialties and a small but fine wine menu make this gem a must go. The soups are simple but ultra tasty. The Schnitzel and Potato salad were some of the best I have tried so far! Fun fact is that you can here from the kitchen that they are pounding the schnitzel to ensure it is thin and crisp!!! Quick and straightforward service! Do not miss this.

Nice place close to the city centre. Food and service are OK but nothing exceptional. Average price.

I've booked from "quando" , the platform from google, wich is very easy to use. The place is little but very good; the personal is kind and always available. The food is really really good, from the wiener Schnitzel, to the Suppe of Rind and pankakes. Also, the Kaiserschmarrn were delightful. Very recommended.

Great local place to eat. The lamb my husband had was perfect. I enjoyed the goulash.

Friendly staff and good food. We had goulash and their special sweet drink with peppermint leaf. Desserts not as special as the mains, but also nice. Overall, I recommend, especially as it was less busy than the main touristic places in Vienna.

Very traditional restaurant. Nice ambience. Schnitzel is maybe not the best one I have tried around, but surely one among those, so worth trying. Service is ok. Had an early dinner at 6 pm and was not full of tourists, that’s a big plus for me. Hand made fries are really good too.

We came for the Wiener Schnitzel and I have to say, it did not disappoint. It was very good and juicy with crispy breading, but I really don‘t believe the price is justifiable. I‘m sure there‘s cheaper places that serve it, but if you don‘t care about the money it‘s worth the visit. The Sacher Torte was good as well.

We were given one table literally attached to another, making the whole dinner awkward and not at all pleasant. Mediocre food: my canederli were tasteless, difficult to swallow, definitely cheap. It's absolutely not worth it. I'm giving 2 just because the wine was good.

The food was ok but the billing was hell. We paid with card and it took us 45 minutes to complete the process. By completing I mean that we went to the bank to get get cash and pay 5 euros commission.

small fine dining restaurant in the heart of Vienna. Found it on google maps when looking for a restaurant on the way to a movie. We were welcomed by the nice staff and were lucky to get a seat. The food was great and the waiter pionted to the specia seasonall menu that they have and it was awesome.

Best schnitzel in Vienna. And we tried a lot of them! The portion was huge, and the taste was amazing. They had also amazing Viennese pasta! A must visit!

Very cozy place, great meat and absolute superb chocolate muss. It was best dessert I had during my Vienna trip. Prices seem to be slightly higher than average, but not too much.

A real authentic restaurant of Vienna. You can feel several hundred years of Austria here. Great food and drink. Not the cheapest one, but it's absolutely worth it.

Absolutely wonderful. Had the classic Wiener Schnitzel, a house beer, and another of the barkeep's choosing. Total damage was 30 Euros - 20 for the Schnitzel (two very large pieces) and boiled potatoes with parsley sprinkled on top, served with a lemon wedge, then ~5 each for the beers (0.5L). Beer was pretty good, but the schnitzel and potatoes were fantastic. It has been a long, long time since I tasted anything as good as the schnitzel. Whereas I refuse to order steak in the U.S. because I can't bring myself to pay $15 for one, I would pay 20€ for that schnitzel again and again and I would keep asking for seconds. It's that good. Service was a little dry initially - but I got a smile out of my waiter eventually, and he definitely appreciated the tip. I walked in just moments after 6:00 PM on a Saturday, and there was a table of 5 and a table of 1 occupied. My request for a table of 1 experienced no resistance; however, shortly after, a few parties of 4 came in without reservations, and it was clear that the waiter wasn't initially sure if they could accommodate them. Though there were plenty of tables to seat 4, reservations seem to be a really big deal here. So, don't do what I did and go "eh, I don't need to reserve a table for one." Reserve your table, no matter the size. At the very least, the staff will appreciate it for sure.

Look, let's get something out of the way: the food itself is really good. I've ordered the Czaar Highlight and everything was incredibly tasty. The problem was the service, and it destroyed whatever warm feeling the food left inside. The guy didn't even stop at our table once after we took a seat. When we called him, we asked a couple of questions about the menu and, when I was asking my final question, he just wandered off. It was impossible to get him to take our order, and he would always be rude when we got ahold of him. He pushed for a tip, and in the end, when I ordered some bread to take to my wife at the hotel, he came with it 5 minutes later and charged 3 euros, which he out inside his pocket. Disastrous.
