Last week I went to the Grand Hotel again for an afternoon break and pampering. Espresso and sweets were delicious as always. The staff was perfect as always. But... there are no more newspapers. When I go out for coffee alone, I love flipping through various large newspapers. And not surfing around on my little cell phone. Because yes, the feel plays a role. In addition, this newspaper offering has always been a unique selling point of Viennese cafés. And one of the few things I often miss while abroad.

(Translated by Google) Another department of the Grand Hotel that, like the rest, only serves to pull the money out of the pockets of unsuspecting tourists with frozen pizza and overpriced sausages, prepared and served by exploited employees, the main thing is that money comes in somehow to pay the horrific debts with the suppliers deliver again.

I often come here with friends. The positive aspects are the pleasant atmosphere, the very friendly staff - who always bring a bowl of water for the dog - and the extremely good food. You can also order food from the Japanese restaurant in the same hotel and the quality of the sashimi, etc. is really excellent. The prices are of course high, so it's more for special occasions.

Cozy hotel bar, a bit bright (in the evening), a bit more expensive, great piano music. 🎼

Very nice atmosphere, perfect service. I was not only impressed by the quality of the food and drinks but also by how you were treated. It's true when you say: "The customer is king" or in my case: "The customer is 👑 queen"

As the lobby Restaurant of Grand Hotel Wien Rosengarten tells a story dating back 150 years, the mansion designed by Carl Tietz still standing proud as a hub of Viennese social life since the days of Johann Strauss. A popular meeting place for both local and international guests, posh seating and windows looking out on Vienna Ringstrasse setting the stage day or night, it is here that many suggest one will find Austria’s best Guglhupf offered whole or by the slice. Open 10h00 to 24h00 for composed plates with multicultural influence, though earlier for Pastry, Coffee or Wine, service is attentive yet personable with Espresso served quick alongside Sparkling Water and tiny Chocolate Cookies. Waiting mere moments for items on display in the Pastry case, first Apple Strudel decorated with Breadcrumbs and Golden Raisins, it was after devouring every speck of delicate Puff Pastry that attention focused on Rosengarten’s Marble Poundcake – “grand” in every way from the light yet moist crumb to slivered Almonds that mingle with Dark Chocolate.
