The Altwiener Backfleisch (beef in Vienna old style) was excellent. In my short trip to Vienna it was the best I've had. The worst part about the restaurant was one of the waiters - bigger guy with beard. He behaved like everything we asked for, including menus was the worst he ever heard and was the most demeaning task in his life. The second waiter was very polite and nice, but unfortunately they served us in turns. Coffee was mediocre, but at least it was hot. Great spot, close to the museum quartier though.

Now this is a cafe! I can see why Viennese cafe is an elevated experience from the normal cafes. Classically decorated, nice ambiance. I tried the schnitzel with is an iconic Viennese food and it didn't disappoint. The serving was huge (see my hand for scale) and the potato salad was also tasty. Lunch time was quiet and not crowded but the service was quick and efficient. Highly recommended.

Not really the place to be. It looks alright. Atmosphere of restaurant is good. But food not really great. Waiter asked if we wanted bread with soup but had to pay more than 2 euros extra for the 2 dry bread rolls without butter. Waiter really wanted a tip. When we said no she just typed in the wrong amount for us to pay, only 50 cents extra so I let out slide. But it was not client friendly.

Great ambience. However the service was lacking. The thin Steward with a small ponytail tied up, was quite rude and not at all service oriented. He served an Americano Coffee in a badly chipped cup and when we pointed it out to him, he took the coffee back, poured it out into another cup, and then served it again!!!!! (Instead of serving us a fresh coffee).... This spoiled the entire bfast experience for us. Also, when he took our card payment at our table, he just dropped the charge slip on to my dirty plate and walked off. Was I expected to pick up my bill and charge slip from the plate??? Incidentally, the Wiener Schnitzel we ordered was dry and hence not nice.

Those who enjoy genuine Viennese coffeehouse culture will delight in this place: the quiet murmur of the voices, no music (!), high ceilings and comfy booths - it provides the soothing soundscape of a friendly library. If you catch one of the (many) spots at the window, you will be able to watch Viennese life going its course. The whole setting is highly relaxing. We came for breakfast. The selection is not groundbreaking, but rather traditional and solid: don't expect smoothies or porridge; do dare to try the Fiaker Frühstück made of a Gulasch (beef stew) and a beer. Our bread rolls ("Semmeln"; don't offend the locals by using the Germans' term "Brötchen"!) were deliciously fresh, the egg properly soft boiled, my Cafe Latte spoiled me with its fine, long-lasting milk froth. Only the orange juice was no revelation - tasted thin ad watered-down. Free Wi-Fi, too. I would happily spend an afternoon here, working on the laptop. And the waiter - grumpy-looking as they come, but then giving you a subtle smile that suddenly makes your day.

Nothing to notice here. It's just another random place offering average food at an avarage price. Don't expect anything out of the ordinary. It's a pity beucse the location could offer much more and the environment is not bad. Could be mainetened a little cleaner.

🚨Really disappointed with this restaurant🚨 First, Don't order their 21€ dinner package!! Because it looks like a good deal but they gave me half of the cake only.. so overall it's the same. Second, The beef soup felt like it was from supermarket cube stock. the wiener schnitzel has no taste and just dry. The apple cake wasn't bad but the vanilla sauce really weird. Last, The male waiter with black shirt was not friendly. But the worse was the lady waiter asked for 10% tips eagerly. Just like the previous reviewer said..

Traditional Austrian food. Simple, but very tasty. I recommend the cream soup and Wiener schnitzel. It's a pity that wheat beer is not on tap, but it didn't spoil the impression.

Nice restaurant, right behind the Natural History Museum in Vienna. Warm atmosphere, old-school but elegant decoration and comfortable booths to eat. We ate there twice while staying at Vienna, and it was delicious. The staff is very kind, always eager to help and recommend plates.

After reading negative reviews about bad service, I wonder if we are talking about the same place. While our server spoke limited English, she was helpful and able to interact with us just fine. The menu (unlike many others in Vienna) had English descriptions. In fact, we walked over from the Cafe Bellaria just down the street because they apparently did NOT want non-German speakers. The authentic food was tasty and delivered quickly. I had the pork Schnitzel. The unpretentious restaurant and bathrooms were clean and there was no "begging for tips" as someone else said. Overall, a very pleasant experience and definitely recommended for English speakers looking for good "non-touristy" food while walking around Vienna.

Very long wait for service, the menu was brought by the waiter quite quickly. However, waiting for the next arrival of the waiter to take the order lasted over 10 minutes and the pub was half empty. The waiter's expression was not too happy to bored. Paid toilets also for company guests for 0.5 euros? maybe that's a joke Zipfer beer is not bad, I would rate it 3/5. The steak was better average. After ordering another beer, the previous empty glass still stands on the table

We delighted in learning about the great actor and playwright Ferdinand Raimund, author of a much loved song in Austria. The service was prompt and friendly with fluent English. I would include this on your tour of Vienna Cafe’s

Food was delicious but it was too quite in the place, does not seem like a bar and more like a library. A bit of music would not be redundant.

If you are looking for a tasty food in a traditional austrian restaurant, this is your place. Located next to Volkstheater and behind the museum, it offers good variety of traditional dishes, drinks and exceptional coffee. The service was really nice, I recommend this place

Another quaint and historical café, everything was good except during busy hours it may take a while to have your order taken but it is worth the patience. Visiting this cafe instantly takes you back in time with its vintage interiors. The menu was quite a great option and worth the price you get a soup, the traditional schnitzel and a Sachertorte.

(Translated by Google) We were yesterday The restaurant is spacious and warm, tasty food and correct price. The waiter who "attended" us was dismal. He was at the bar with his cell phone without attending to us, when he passed by our table and saw that we were calling him he ignored us, and when we managed to ask him for something, he forgot about half of the things. His reluctant attitude and pasota is not up to the restaurant. I give only one star, so that the owner or manager reads the comment and knows about this waiter. (Original) Estuvimos ayer.

An ideal experience of Viennese coffee culture. High class, perfect ambience, great coffee, no music, the right environment. Would recommend a seat near the window to watch the world go by. Only came in for coffee but ended up staying for food, which I'm glad I did - unpretentious yet tasty and typically Austrian. A handful of vegetarian options too. Will return.

The sausages rolled in bacon was heavenly, the fries crispy, and the portion was large enough to fill a grown man. The sausage bowl was tasty and a good alternative for someone who wanted to try something a bit different. The pasta was good enough for my 4 year old kid so that's a win.

Went here for lunch and had the chicken wiener schnitzel. It tasted very good. The substitution of french fries with potato salad was amazing. The potato salad was very tasty. The atmosphere is really cute. Decorations give a classic, vintage vibe. Employees were also kind and the price is normal for a wiener schnitzel. Recommended!

Ordered the menu of the day, nothing to brag about - EDIBLE. Problem with this place is they - FORCE THE TOURIST TO PAY IN CASH and FORCE TOURIST TO ADD A TIP. YOU TIP WHEN YOU THINK THEY DESERVE IT NOT FORCE YOU !! I was eating on a table next to a local and seen the biased treatment they do to tourist. Oh, by the way they would also bring you bread on the table and CHARGE you for it, you thinking its part of the meal.

We came here as we were in Maria-Theresien Plaza and looking for an Austrian restaurant nearby. After entering we waited to get seated and it didn't take too long. The interior was nicely decorated with chandeliers and dark red ceilings. There were desserts sitting in the glass counter so you could watch it as you pass. They also had free WiFi which is always a bonus, just keep an eye out for the frames with the WiFi code. The menu had lots of options and we received an English one. They had a special set which included a soup, a schnitzel and a dessert. I tried their dumplings with egg, which turned out to be spaetzle with egg. I personally found the food on the salty side. The set meal was quite nice and did have choices. We had the sacher torte for dessert and found it a bit dry (as it's supposed to be). It is a really nice looking place. Food was ok but too salty.

(Translated by Google) Cozy and well decorated place where you will find homemade food and something cheaper than in the center. The local has a part, which by the size and shape of the tables I understand is a cafeteria, and another part for meals. They offer daily newspapers from various newspapers as well as magazines. The menu has very good typical Viennese dishes. We were eating and ordered soup, a variant of the typical Schnitzel without batter and omelets. The truth is that everything was very good, especially the soup. Like all the restaurants we have visited in Vienna, drinks are very expensive, although as with food, they are somewhat cheaper than in the center. The place is very close to the Natural History Museum, so if you make that visit, which I recommend, it will be an excellent opportunity to eat at the Raimund. The staff is friendly, which is always appreciated. I definitely recommend it.
