Very good range of products in the shop. Big selection of chocolates and alcohol. But prices are not cheap. a lot of local products No queues, staff keep social distance and everyone using masks.

It was the last breakfast we had in Galway and I’m glad that I chose McCambridge! The streaky bacon was absolutely savory- I would say it’s the best bacon I had so far traveling in Ireland for 9 days. Also, the house tomato relish was gorgeous! Normally I have a partiality for toast, so I was a bit disappointed when I saw it’s soda bread. But I was wrong. It was perfectly moist and firm, for me it tasted a little bit like a cake. Apart from the Full Irish, the Veggie breakfast my bf ordered was also delicious. The only part I don’t like probably were the poached eggs and portobello mushroom. The mushroom was blend.

Stopped in here for lunch at the upstairs restaurant and it was delicious. The servers were fast. The place was a bit packed but it was 130pm. My friend had a burger and said it was delicious, I had a salad and it was super yummy. The lettuce was a bit wilted, but other than that no complaints.

Sadly hasn't been the same since the Musgraves takeover. A good example is the absence of the restaurant upstairs. I wasn't a big fan of it personally, but it had an atmosphere. Now when you take your expensive and distinctly average premade sandwich upstairs, you're greeted by a seating area that feels like being in a Centra. The loud hip-hop music blaring over the speakers tries to conceal an absence of personality or care put into place.

The best lunch I've had in County Galway all week. With healthy, appetising options at a good price, I'm only sorry I was only in the city for one day, but I did take advantage of the shop downstairs to stock up for a picnic tomorrow. As a slight downside, they still use plastic straws, maybe they could consider binning the single use plastics?

The guys on the tills are the rudest I have ever experienced, no, please, thank you, its all service with a scowl, unbelievable, land of a thousand welcomes my backside, are they given any training in basic customer service, who is employing these awful people, the owners probably think because of their location they don't need staff to be courteous , in and out quickly and get their money, and BTW goods are way overpriced.

Top notch food and services. The products aren't overly expensive and the environment is always clean. Even when the place is busy, the service is quick.

We wanted to send a gift basket to our relatives visiting Ireland. A local friend recommended McCambridges. We are so happy we ordered a custom hamper. Their customer service is phenomenal!! They communicated through email which was really helpful when working in different timezones. We will absolutely be ordering again!

The old world feel has gone. There is no restaurant, but you can buy a beverage in a paper cup and sit upstairs in the loft. It's like have coffee in a Centra. A single shot coffee is one price and a double shot is more, how greedy can they get. Two stars for decent coffee only.

A gem of a shop, so many quality items of food and drink in such a small run shop, and the restaurant upstairs is just as good, this is everything a family run business should be, a Galway institution keep up the good work!

Order two last-minute hammers here which were ready within 20mins. Excellent services. Stole the photo online as I forgot to tack but this is the presentation of the hampers. #galway #ireland #events #hamper

Fab shop. A little bit of luxury while not spending your life savings at the same time. I would advise everyone visiting Galway city to go to McCambriges at least once. Tasty treats, great deli, great varity of tea's and coffee's as well as a super range pf spirits to suit all taste. You'll go back time and again.

I was Impressed with the shop but when it comes to the coffee the lid would not stay on and nearly scalded my wife we went back they change the cup but it was no better. I think better quality cups is the answer .

Best brunch place in Galway ! The service and food is out of this world ! I would go back there in heart beat. I had a hot chocolate with marshmallows and cream, and it was soooooo good 😍👍 Perfectly located right in the centre of Galway, very cosy and spacious at the same time. Highly recommend it.

Great products. Variety and quality! There is food for all tastes and diet (vegan, gluten free, etc). Good choice of products during holidays (Christmas, etc…). Their hot chocolates are exquisite! You can choose different milks and type of chocolate (regular, milk chocolate or white chocolate). Staff is really nice.

Great lunch location for a sandwich. As tourists and light eaters, we didn’t want a heavy Irish pub lunch or fish and chips. This place has great sandwiches and even grill them for you. Recommend.

Great place to find the finest of local produce and a decent deli and off license to boot, Restaurant closed at the moment unfortunately. Used to be a Galway institution now owned by a huge retailer, it remains to be seen what the impact will be, seems to be much the same so far.

5 stars Deli, cafe, restaurant and off licence. Take a coffee outside and watch the world go by.

Went in here for a capachocho. Paper cups only. No seating free outside so went upstairs. Nice large area with plenty of seats. Capa cho cho wasn't bad. Went a bit overboard with the froth and chocolate. Used the loo but no paper to use. Not convenient.

McCambridges's have excellent stock. Fair dues. What this is about is me taking a stand against the casual rudeness that gets a pass in today's retail sector. Having taken my back pack off because of previous problems in the cramped shop and with only two items in my hand, a warning blared out over the tannoy: "CUSTOMERS ARE REQUESTED NOT TO USE THEIR OWN BAGS AND USE THE BASKETS PROVIDED FOR THEIR PURCHASES. IF YOU HAVE ANY DIFFICULTY, ASK A STAFF MEMBER." Do I seem a bit sensitive? Sure. Well, there were only five customers in the shop and this warning came immediately I touched something. Go figure. But the context is that this happens waaaaaay to often. It's hostile, it's unwelcoming, it's unfriendly and it creates the mindset in sales staff that the customer is an object of distrust and it fosters in the staff a sense of victimhood that says "get them before they get you".

Best ever fish and chips. Efficient, friendly staff. Salmon brekkie is, as all the salmon offerings, excellent. You can't go wrong here.

Cannot commend the staff enough for their hardwork and impeccable customer service. Emailed regarding a hamper order, Maeve got in touch straight away and was so helpful with advising me on my selections. A special thanks also to Helen who made up the most stunning hamper in the blink of an eye. Given the current situation of the country they really are providing an amazing service for anyone who can't see their loved ones and want to send a special gift. Thanks again guys, will be a returning customer for sure!! Have also been a frequent visitor of the restaurant which has the best brunch in galway with the most cheerful and friendly staff, cannot wait to get back to normal and enjoy some delcious french toast!! Galway city has a gem in the form of McCambridge's, keep up the great work everyone.

Very tasty breakfast. We ordered four full Irish breakfast, great quality and selection of items on the plate. As an Ulster man I have devoured hundreds of Ulster fries, however this was memorable. Cappacino also rich and smooth. Our waiter was superb, good craic and recomneded things to do in Galway on a rainy day. Its not the cheapest spot in town (full Irish €12) but you get what you pay for, a quality solid feed.

Always a lovely experience in the heart of Galway with what has the appearance of an old early 20th century shop underneath but is very specialised in wines and gourmet foods

I like some of the food McCambridges has to offer although overly priced especially alcohol and Christmas hampers etc but why I'am posting this is , the company should spend more on training their staff to be a little bit more customer friendly /mannerly especially at tills . It makes a difference .
