I gave this place two more tries after not enjoying my first visit under new ownership. The eggs were cooked too much on our sandwiches (lots of browning and some burnt parts). The bagels are just not good any more. They used to be the biggest and softest bagels around. Now they are very dense. Hard to chew and just don't taste good. Ive been coming here for 10 years at least and although this place is the most convenient to go I don't think I'll be back. Please change your bagel recipe!

It’s hard to get me to write a review good or bad. However I feel compelled to write this simply with the hope that I saved someone the headache and disappointment of going to this bagel store. My sandwich was completely not what I ordered so upon returning I explained that and somehow I had the replacement come out 60 seconds later. Slightly makes sense considering the bagel was cold and stale. Putting that aside it was still the worst bagel I’ve ever had. Tasted more like a roll or just stale bread. The eggs were over cooked and the bacon was literally a pile of greasy ground up bits. I don’t know how you could serve this to somebody especially somebody whos order you have messed up once before. Sorry to have to write this but it was simply terrible.

you can get typical Long Island bagels here, they're really good and with a lot of calories inside, pretty decent price and good atmosphere, also they start working at 6:00 in the morning,

This place is horrible, we ordered chicken salad in part of our order and , when we got home and my kids started to serve it we realized she gave us tuna. We immediately brought it back to the store and explained what happened And she proceeded to take the tuna back out and put it in the deli case Mixed with the other tuna Any reputable deli would never have put that back with the fresh product The lady has also dropped food on her cell phone while making a Sandwich and scoops it off and put it on to the Sandwich. Cleanliness is not her forte.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE: Firstly I will say that every time I try this place the bagels are rock hard. But because it is so close to the house we still would go there. THAT STOPS TODAY! BEWARE ALLERGY FAMILIES!!! I won’t EVER step foot in here again. My husband went to get bagels for the family and right away notified them that my son has a dairy allergy and asked the lady to put fresh gloves on and to put the bagels in a separate bag right away. She took a bagel and put it down on the wooden block where they cut all the other bagels and also spread cream cheese on the bagels. My husband asked for another bagel, since it touched the wood and that would be an allergy risk for my son due to cross-contamination. She said “oh relax it didn’t even touch anything” Really?? To this my husband said “relax? No u relax!” and walked right out the door. How dare she say relax, to something that can cause a fatal reaction! My son has reacted with cross contamination before. And if he ingests dairy he will go into anaphylactic shock. This lady does not belong in the food industry. People need more education on food allergies, and also how to treat your customers.

I go here all the time with my wife and my baby we order we sit in and eat,we never change what we eat. It's always the same,egg and cheese on a roll ,I sometimes eat a bagel w cream cheese and a mini bagel for my 18 months old baby..I always say no salt no pepper when I order eggs ,lately when I order with the Hispanic lady she started playing too much and ask me if I want hot sauce after telling her no salt no pepper, and last week the Asian lady cooking inside joined her by asking if I want hot sauce ?,hot sauce because I order no salt no pepper they wanna know if I want hot sauce? Over the kitchen...Ok so first I was annoyed then came to think of it maybe they just wanted my attention and trying to talk to me because they don't ask the same question to other patrons when they order eggs. I have gastritis and ulcers ,I can't have any hot sauce and I told them ,that day I got served my eggs with hot sauce,I told them and they fixed it by changing the roll to a bagel using the same eggs I could not eat it because the eggs smelled like hot sauce still and threw the eggs away and ate the plain bagel ,no big deal,stuff happens and for next visit the unnecessary questions stopped .Today the same lady drenched my pumpernickel bagel in to hot sauce then covered it with cream cheese I didn't notice the burn before I was half way thru the bagel.When I told her she started smiling looked at me like I was crazy, I had my wife taste it and she said told them it's very very hot, why don't you taste it????the whole bagel was smelling like vinegar and hot sauce...it caused great pain in my chest and my insides are burning,having trouble to breathe,and it would be even more painful when it leaves my body..The workers doesn't seem to have mental hygiene...I'm afraid to go back because next time she might punish me or my wife or the baby by putting liquid pesticide in our food... Drenching hot sauce on my bagel was the worst antic Ive ever seen,shame on you!!!!!

I was just here eating a bagel at my own table, allllll to myself and one homeless lady comes in asking for money from all the patrons. No one gave her any money and she left. A few minutes after another homeless woman comes in and sits in the seat across from me at the table I am sitting at and not one worker, manager, or anyone said anything to her. I do not need some bums soliciting while I am trying to enjoy my food in peace. What has happened to my home town? I will never return to this establishment again only because the people working here allow this to go on right inside there Business.

before new ownership it was okay not #1 but good and convenient now with new ownership every time ive been, my order was messed up somehow also the bagels have no flavor

Follow-up (2 weeks later): We visited in the morning when the bagels were not yet shelved in the display case. In order to help the attendant avoid repeatedly travelling to the back for every bagel we wanted, we mentioned all our chosen types upfront. The lady packaged up the bagels just as we made clear we want butter/spreads for the bagels. She was quick to accuse a native New Yorker of not knowing "that's how things work in New York". She aggressively cut, spread and wrapped our order. U-Need-A Bagels is a solid bagel place but this disappointing experience will prevent us from returning in-person for a while. We now order through one of the delivery platforms and get it cheaper. Imagine your typical, thick bagel except fluffier and lighter so you don't feel bloated after your first or ten. U-Need-A Bagel has proven to be consistent with it's core offerings, and the cream cheeses are among them. The Everything bagel gets everything right, the Cinnamon Walnut Raisin cream cheese is moderately sweet and the Sesame is just toasty start to finish. There's room for improvement around presentation and pastry selection, but those are just bonuses over what is being served fresh all morning and afternoon.

I went there recently to buy bagels for my staff. I have never been so embarrassed. 95% of the bagels were hard, probably from the day before. This new ownership is terrible, the bagels are stale, no taste. They made the store look nice, but maybe should focus on what they sell more. This store is right down the block from me, now I drive to another town for bagels.

Used to love this place, bagels are terribly hard now and the egg sandwiches are ehh at the best.

had to change my review because the owners changed. They are very friendly staff and helpful but when it comes to bagels, the bagels taste like the frozen bagels you get from the grocery store without barely any toppings on them. cheapest bagels around - but you get what you pay for. 1 star.

I’ve been dining in here basically every work day for the passed month or so on my breaks and I’ve personally never had a bad experience. I’ve read the reviews and have waited to see if any of my orders would be made incorrect or have bad quality and so far I have no complaints. My orders are always quick and tastes great. Every staff member is very friendly and welcoming.

This place looks great, they updated everything. Now the bagels in my opinion are delicious. We love to order a s.e.c on everything bagel. The sausage pattie is seasoned wonderful and it doesn't have that weird taste some patties have. Our order comes with a coffee or tea hot or iced. We love it.. thank you

Food here is excellent. Definitely stands out from your regular bagel place. Staff is very friendly.

This deli is good if your standard for delis is based on a third-world country. Go anywhere else. You will be greeted, treated and served better food if you simply visits ANY other NB, Babylon or WB deli.

Bagels was hard as a rock and vegetable cream cheese tasted sour as it was old with new cream cheese ontop to make it look appetizing

I've gotten my last bagel from here. More times than not the bagels were stale and hard. Given them a ton of business but I'd rather travel further to get a fresh bagel.

I have given this place more than enough chances but no more. It is the same person that always gets my order wrong. She rushes me and though it is extremely annoying I make sure to remain polite, clear, and repeat my order. Today she managed to slap a thin layer of cream cheese and barely any butter on two orders. Once, twice I can ignore but more than that is just ridiculous. I don't think I have ever had a bagel in NY/LI that skimped on cream cheese or butter. No other issues with other servers, just the same person.
