    I had a terrible experience with an employee who identified herself as the manager but refused to provide her name. She is blonde, heavy set, white lady (aka a Karen). We had gone in to purchase a set of earrings for a special occasion to which we were told we could not browse around (weird? not sure how we were suppose to shop?) We asked if they had a catalogue to which she rudely replied no. We were very confused and upset. She laughed as if it was funny, not sure on how losing a major sale is hilarious? maybe upper management wouldn't think so..... I loved Michael Hill but this experience has caused me to second guess purchasing from there. The upside was we got beautiful white gold diamond hoop earrings from another jewelry store - who surprisingly allowed us to browse! Customer service at the other store was amazing which made up for the lack of professional service at this location!

    I purchased a necklace from Michael Hill and have had nothing but trouble with it. The necklace has broken multiple times and I have had to bring it in for repairs each time. I also purchased a 3-year warranty, which has proved to be completely useless as they refuse to help me with my ongoing issues. As you can see from the photos I have added, the receipt for a previous repair shows that the damage was different than this most recent incident. It appears that the necklace is breaking from different places each time, and as a result, it's getting smaller and smaller every day. To make matters worse, during my last visit to the store to pick up my necklace, it broke again right in front of the employee. Their lack of concern and customer service skills were appalling. I left the store feeling incredibly frustrated and disheartened. I would strongly advise against purchasing any products from Michael Hill. Not only have I had a terrible experience with the product, but the customer service has been disappointing at best. Save yourself the time, money, and stress and take your business elsewhere.

    So disappointed with my experience with this store (Yorkdale location). I purchased a ring here for my husband a few days before Christmas and had a great experience with the salesperson and manager (Chelsea) however the ring did not fit when he opened his gift on Christmas day and we decided to return to the store to have the ring sized. I was told the ring in particular could not be sized even though the initial salesperson told me it was in fact sizeable (I guess they say anything to get the sale). They advised me that they could order the ring in the correct size but it would take 6 weeks my husband did not want to wait 6 weeks to receive what was supposed to be a Christmas gift so we decided to opt for a refund this is where all customer service went out the window. The sales rep and manager (Chelsea) began whispering and looking at me from across the room and miraculously found a scratch on the ring. They then told me that a refund would not be possible because of the scratch. I told them that it was impossible for the ring to be scratched by us because he was unable to wear the ring as it was not his size the ring was a 10 and he measured a 12 at the store (do the math) it was physically impossible to wear it let alone damage it. I felt extremely taken advantaged of in this store and the whole situation left a bad taste in my mouth. They said they cant accept the ring because its unsellable even though I pointed out lots of rings and bracelets in their display case with scratches and scuffs which they will in fact sell to unsuspecting customers like myself. I honestly did not want to cause a scene in the store so now I am forced to wait 6 weeks for a ring which im not even sure what the quality will be like when it arrives as I have lost complete trust for any business this company does. I would not recommend anyone support a business that thrives on STEALING from and LYING to their customers!! They thrive on sales commission and nothing else. Judging from previous reviews it is common practice for them to treat customers this way so I would suggest new customers stay away go to a more reputable jewelry store that not only values 1 time sales but return customers as well. See picture below of scratched rings in their show glass. Few of many im sure!

    I will never purchase another product from Michael Hill ever again. If anyone ever asks me where to get jewellery, I will explain to them why not to go here! I got a ring 2 weeks ago. It had 3 pearls and the 2 beside the middle came off after wearing one time!!! I have the care protection plan so decided 2 weeks later to go when I had a free moment to Yorkdale. When I went to the store, I was accused of keeping the pearls which is so disappointing for someone to think that. They asked me where the pearls are and I said I have no idea because they fell off and if you had known. Then when I asked for the manager I was told she wasn’t here but the sales associate Margarita decided to intervene. I’ve never in my life met anyone ruder than her. I’m not sure why there isn’t always an acting manager at the store but that’s not the issue at the moment. The issue is that I was accused of keeping pearls and that there was no solution. Michael Hill should be more like People’s Jewellers. I had an issue with a piece of jewellery purchased there once and they replaced it without a hassle or a hard time. So not only did I leave unhappy I contacted customer service. Customer service said they can’t do anything without the full product. Obviously I don’t have the full piece because it came off because it’s cheaply made. When I examined the ring, you can clearly see that it’s stuck on with some sort of cheap glue. Just do yourself a favour and DO NOT SHOP At MICHAEL HILL.

    The day I went to buy my ring with my husband I was treated amazingly! 7 days after (today) I came back to take my ring (it has been resized) I was treated like garbage literally! The manager (a blonde woman that the previous week was dancing with my little son) today at yorkdale has been terrible rude toward me, when I was just asking about a small travel gift that has been promised the day I bough the ring. Anyway I understand there is no more stock but that's not a reason to yell at me and even avoid giving me a bag (a simple plastic bag at least) to carry my new ring. I literary have to take it in my hands (not a cheap ring tho, $2000 diamond ring). Yes, not even a "michael hills plastic bag". Nothing. Extremely disappointed! If I can I will return the ring JUST because of the way I was treated, I did not deserved it.( I love the ring otherwise).

    I was dealing with Su who was an amazing help. Also met with a man name Michael who was also just as good. I was purchasing items for a donation for my sons soccer team and was given my three items in pouches with no bag. I then asked if I was able to get a box for each item as they were to be presented during a Christmas party but was told they were too cheap to be given boxes. I then asked if I could get 3 separate bags which they also denied me. By the manager might I add. So I stood there in awe as she told me that because the items were so cheap I wasn’t able to get bags or a box. However imagine 3 separate people came in to make 3 separate purchases , would each person not be entitled to a bag? RIDICULOUS. ITS CHRISTMAS SEASON. Terrible service by the manager of the store. I will never shop here again. Way to disrespect a paying client.

    Worst customer service. I asked about specific features and they know nothing about it. Stared at me as if I didn't know what I was talking about. Wanted to know the clarity and the cut of the diamond and they didn't answer this simple question. Unprofessional. answered ina rude tone saying :THIS IS DIAMOND. (As if no one knows...) Went straight to People's jewellers (great service there).

    A sale advisor named Monika made inappropriate remark and comment (out loud) regarding my husband. Unacceptable attitude. I came back alone few days later (to try again the same ring) and another sale associate aggressively pressured me to buy the ring in size 7, after I told her I was a size 4. This is the most ridiculous selling behavior I have ever faced in a jewelry, it's a blatant 6 sizes difference (including half-sizes). Truly pathetic. When I confronted her to the non-sense of her advice, she said that I could still get a refund later. Total freak show in a circus, I swear...

    I have to say it is a very uncomfortable shopping experience. First, the sales belittle the competitor (we can easily think of which one she refers to). Second, she pushed me to shop, she even told me that because she served me and spent her time, she asked me to help her to buy. Third, as soon as I went in, I told her that I wanted to take a look alone, but in the end, she told me that she could serve another customer if it wasn't for being with me. That person bought something for 5,000. I didn't ask her to serve me and I told her that she can went to help others several times. In addition, just like someone else’s experience, the sals told me that the revised product would be available within 5 days before payment. But after the payment, she told me that the modification time was more than 5 days. Actually I waited for half a month. In the end, I bought that product just because I liked it, but it not difficult to found out that the whole experience was very uncomfortable. If you want to go shopping in this store, please consider it in advance. Unfortunately, I did not see these comments in advance. Based on the previous service, only one star can be given, and two stars are given because the sales encountered when I picked it up was good. By the way, after leaving this shop, I went to peoples in another location and bought other diamond jewelry. The sales is a very nice one and I had a very pleasant shopping experience.

    As a loyal customer to this company I was so disappointed when I visited this location on Wednesday Feb 01,2023 to adjust my watch band which I bought from Michael Hill. The manager (Chelsea ) was so unprofessional said ‘ I recommend go to Bay and pay them to adjust your watch band as here will takes two weeks’ . I am not sure why did she try to send us to Bay and secondly this is not the proper way of customer service and talking to a loyal customer who bought so many expensive items from this company. I am just writing this review to let everyone knows that the manager of this location is rude and unprofessional. She needs to know the basic of customer service as this is her job…

    I have probably purchased over 15k of jewelry at various Michael hill jewlers over the last 5 plus years and today i had the worst customer service at a location i purchased 2 larg diamond rings at . I recently had a 4 carrot ring sized and picked it up 3 days ago 2 days after 2 diamonds fell out so i went in to have it repaired and i was told it was neglect the manager made up lies and said she knew the history's and the ring had many diamonds replced whic is a lie !!! I asked for proof she didnt have any service records to back it up . I explained it was just in for a inspection and it was also sent out for iridium work she refused to help in any way and made it out to be neglect im sure im not the only one that has had diamonds fall out and at the time of purchase its all amazing services lifetime doamond warranty and get the extra coverage lol which i have purchased this was unacceptable and the made up lies is not professional at all and in my opinion i wouod be thining twice before purchasing from this location

    Terrible experience! I was there for 20 mins looking at a ring I had picked, there was only one person working until another came out of the back I asked her if I can try the ring and instead of helping me she started talking to another mall employee who seemed like a friend or something. I just walked out, y should I give them my Money! On my way to peoples jewellers now!

    Su, the sales associate there, was absolutely amazing! Greeted my fiancé and I as we came into the store for the first time and right away she helped us when we stated our reason and budget. She stayed after hours once the store closed to help us pick out our rings and took the time to show us each one that’s within our budget, even going slightly higher just in case we change our minds (which we did lol). We picked the perfect rings 💕 losing one star not because of her (her customer service is amazing you should definitely go to her), but the other sales associate... not sure if she was a manager or some sort but it was the blond lady there :/ did not like the way she treated su when she asked for help. Anyways amazing customer service from her ! Edit**** so we came back to pick up the rings since they were being resized and while waiting there was a male employee staring at my fiancé as he was looking around the displays while we wait. Didn’t even greet him, followed him, and friggin just kept starring at him. I didn’t like the look he was giving him. We are customers and we just purchased. Did you think he was gonna steal??? Because I got that vibe. I also notice he gave us this look when we first arrived there however I just ignored it. I kept staring at him till he looked away and he stood by the entrance. Like what is your problem. You could have greeted him and asked if he needed assistance not follow him like he gonna start something. I find that very VERY rude. As usual Su, the sales associate there has greeted us and helped us as usual. Very nice. I would have gave 0 stars if I could if it wasn’t for her. Keep that man in check.

    Please, if you can follow my advice, DO NOT PURCHASE from this store or company, horrible customer service. When they are making the sell, they will tell you it's a lifetime warranty diamonds but 7 years down the road they will find a way to get out of it and tell you that you have to pay for any diamond replacement eventho you have taken the rings for check up and clean up at least twice a year, stupid me believing the sales person that helped me at the time they kept records of it and no it is not like that. So please save yourself a headache and stay away from this company

    I have been Michael Hill's customer for years. This time I came to the store to find earrings matching the ring that I bought a year ago. The salesperson showed me a pair that was not a perfect match. So, I was not sure. The earrings were for my wife, and they didn't work. She didn't try them on, didn't even touch them. I brought them back on the next day and was informed that I could not return them. At first she gave a strange argument that I had once already returned an item, that's why this was a "final sale". I found that argument ridiculous, and only then, by another salesperson was informed that earrings are not refundable because of a new, after-covid policy of the company. I told them that, if so, they had to be very clear about that, making sure that the customer received that information. I met the store manager with the same result. I reached the customer service by email. They answered that they are unable to override this "very strict" policy. I emailed them several times asking to give me a contact of someone who is able to do it. Same result. The answer is always the same like if I talk to a robot. The only phone number I found on the website seems not working. I suppose, the customer service department is meant to help customers to solve problems. No one is even trying. No one in this company cares about their customers!

    Literally the worst. Took my necklace in now two times to fix, even though I had warranty they charged me to fix a faulty clasp that kept breaking, and broke less than 24 hours from receiving it back from repair. Took it in a third time, looked like they didn’t even change the clasp that I paid extra money for because he claimed it was “more sturdy”, wrong because it broke again less than 24 hours from receiving it from repair. Customer service was literally no help at all and basically doesn’t exist and explaining to them that’s this is the third time it broke, for a necklace I’ve only had for 6 months and constantly in repair for the past 2 months, they just laughed. Stores a joke lol

    All I can say is EXCELLENT customer service! Margarita was extremely informative and patient in answering any questions we had! She really took her time with us! If you shop there for engagement rings or anything really, I highly recommend seeing her as she is was extremely knowledgeable in the products she is selling and amazing with presenting diamonds to us! I don’t ever write reviews! She really left an impression on my boyfriend and I! Thank you for such an amazing experience!

    Had more variety than the Vaughan Mills one. Overall you may get good quality jewellery of all kind of price range. They provide their care plan too for reploshing or any manufacture defect which I feel is pricy for what is covered and what not.

    I went into this location with my girlfriend to look at some diamonds when we were first thinking about getting engaged. We were helped by Purnima, who did a great job of giving suggestions and walking us through the considerations of buying a diamond ring. She was very approachable and was willing to spend time answering our questions. It was very nice to receive such great customer service when making such a big purchase as an engagement ring!

    Su was very helpful with picking out my first gold chain. She had incite on everything that I looked at and was able to also help me pick out a cross pendant and earring to match. Su and colleagues was very nice and easy to work with and all of the questions I had were answered. I spent about a hour at the store, and I was able to leave knowing that I got the best price. I would recommend everyone to go see Su at Michael Hill to assist you pick out any/all your jewelry needs. I’m really impressed by the large selection and customer service.

    I have purchased a few pieces from this location. Support does not exist if it breaks. Manager said “just buy another”. Contacted company and they are useless. Hint: don’t be honest ….tell them its a manufacturing defect. Horrible company. Other jewellery stores in Yorkdale with truly brilliant pieces and superior customer service and care about your business.

    Experience was amazing. Chelsea took care of me as i was buying an engagement ring for my girlfriend. She fought for higher approval with financing so i could propose sooner. Got the ring that my girlfriend fell in love with and had great customer service- Thanks Chelsea! Would recommend you to go to this location.

    Misleading sales, Terrible customer service, Awful policy on returns, refund and exchange. Purchased earrings as a gift, did not fit clasp way too small. Went back with my wife to no avail. Return policy not mentioned at time of sale only on the bill which is then too late. Will never go back to Michael Hill.

    Assistant Manager, Nagi, was extremely helpful and patient when my fiancé and I went in looking for wedding bands. She definitely helped me find “the one” and I am so excited to pick it up from her once it arrives.     Hi I bought a ring from yorkdale michael hill but I had lost one small stone from my ring so I went there to repair it and was agree to pay the repair cost too. The customer service representative "SU" help me very carefully and submit my request to their manager and I got this service without any cost. She is such a amazing person and gave great customer service . Thank you so much. Highly recommend this place.

    Hello everyone! I bought the last model diamond watch black from Michael Hill! Behind the watch is said that it’s 100M water resistant and I take a shower with it and then it break, it was full humidity inside and stops working!( I bought it month ago) Today I been to yorkdale Michael hill and the MANAGER she doesn’t know anything about her product even know her product she was saying that 100M water resistant does not mean water resistant, is 100 pressure… OMG and she is was like I can’t do anything about it..!! 0 service! I hope that in all stores they are not so unrelated to their products!

    Unethical sales practice. I went to the location with a simple return request, and was told by “Nagi” that she would have to ask her manager “Hamed” if it was possible. As it happens, there was no manager in the store and she pretended to inquire by simply talking to her other coworker and returning with the same negative answer. This blatant lying is the lowest form of manipulative salesmanship I’ve experienced. I would expect this type of service from a dodgy flea market. Nagi and Hamed indicated that there was nothing they could do while I was in the store, despite being well within the return window (11 days post-purchase, when there’s supposed to be a 30-day window). Upon calling another location, the manager stated they’d be willing to help me process the request. When I called this location back to ask why I had to go to another location, only then was I informed that there was no manager available when I was there. The salesperson lied about asking her manager, effectively pretending to do her job. This is precisely the deceptive conduct that pushes clients towards other retailers, especially considering that jewellery is a commoditized market. I highly recommend going to any other jeweller and saving yourself the hassle of dealing with the dishonest salespeople here.

    I find it hard to believe that there could be any bad reviews on here. This place was really busy when I visited just after Valentine’s Day, and I still got great service. Whenever I have come to buy a $60 item or to spend way more, all the staff treat me well and greet me with a smile, pull a chair, have me sit down and get comfortable. My girlfriend has always liked the gifts from here. the price reflects the quality- you can’t expect what you don’t pay for. other jewellers In this mall don’t give you anywhere near the service that they give. I am usually helped by the tall man and younger blond girl who works there, amazing service!

    I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE! only deal with and ask for SU OR VITO! to serve you, they are amazing. I got my fiances engagement ring from here and they both helped me through the buying process without any stress and worry. They showed me the best service and worked with my budget. At the end i gave my fiance the best surprise ever and she was very very happy with the ring. SU is very knowledgable about the products.     I had such an incredible experience at Michael Hill Yorkdale that I feel compelled to share, which I dont typically do. I was looking for a ring and was greeted by a sales lady who was smiling and ready to help me. I didnt know what I was looking for, so she took the time to help me find the right style. The manager came in to facilitate and help out with pricing, and also breaking it down on their monthly financing plan that's interest free. They made me feel really comfortable and weren't too pushy like at other places, and just wanted me to make the right choice. My now fiancee was thrilled with the ring choice and after service provided for sizing it, etc.

    I bought a layered necklace with the bottom necklace being a chain link. The links on the bottom twist and turn while on and they turn when the necklace is closed. If laid flat and open it looks perfect. When wearing it, it looks terrible and crooked. They told me to separate the necklaces and it would be fine. Terrible product and customer service.

    Worst experience to do businesses with this store. Bought a watch and silver bracelet 2 days ago. When I try to return it. Lady on counter pretend to go through Loupe on watch and bracelet, made all kind of excuses that It was all over scratches and skin mark on it. This place don’t deserve even one star. As curtesy I am giving one star. Don’t go to this place if you when want to return. I am not recommending this at any case. No respect for customers at all.

    Terrible manager!!! Rude, disrespectful, impolite manager!!! ms. Chelsea is the manager she is so unprofessional and rude she kept HERASSING my father because he wanted to give back what we have purchesed by telling him to dont stand here, what do you want, sit, stand up, go over there, get out!!! Even though my father cannot speak english very well she kept bossing around because he said he wanted to give back and take the money he paid!!! Whenever we were talking to the salepersons about our problem she kept talking in their ears in front of us and even looked us in the eye and laughed at us!!!!!! What is this bad behavior???? Im so Sorry for michealhill brand because they sell beautiful products but they choose wrong people for their store and it will And have hit their reputation. From now on I will tell all of my friends and families to not EVER go to this store! She asked if We have wore the bracelate I said just twice in this store( the day we purchased it ! Because we wanted to buy ofcourse). She suddenly said OW i will not take this you said you wore it twice!!! And my saying has the power so you cannot do anything! And i will write it on your receipt!!! I am still in shock ! What??? She was abusing her authority power as the manager of the store! Even her colleagues check the bracelet and told her that it hasnt been used nothing is wrong she said NO and she was looking and smirking at us!! And she said you cannot do anything because im the manager go get a lawyer ( smirking at my face again!!!!) I will call the costumer service again since today I called and it was after business hours. I’m so Sorry for hiring agents at michealhill store! I will not let any of my friends and families go near your store because your store has no ethical manners and they abuse their power… Dont go there!!!!!!
